Sweet with a nice backstory to add depth to the characters.

My Thoughts and Review
I really enjoyed this story ! This has been such a great series.I have to say out of the series this story was the best for me.I just loved T.J. and Jenna's story.
Jenna and T.J ended up at the same rehab center and neither of them met before they checked out. Jenna was recovering from burns and injuries that she had gotten when trying to put out a forest fire. Both these characters have the same personality both stubborn and both having very strong opinions and yet are both very driven people and both have jobs that are very dangerous. So much in common...
The couple meet by accident when Jenna is out for a hike and slips down and mountain. She is trying to prove to herself that she will be able to go back to work but, physically she is not up to par and she knows it and has doubts that she will ever be able to return to the job she loves most.T.J wants to come to the rescue.
T.J is thinking he will rescue the damsel in distress but, she wants no help from him.Because this is what T.J. does for a living saves people he felt he must and he cannot walk away and leave her there. But, instead of helping T.J. takes a header down the mountain and now the have two of them are in a compromising position. Will he need the saving instead of doing the saving ?
Danger is lurking for the couple as a storm is coming. They need to save themselves !
These character's were a blast Jenna was one feisty mouthy chick. Some what of a hard ass but, having her own reasons for being so.She comes off that way but, she really just has a protective barrier up.We do see a softer side of her once she starts to unload some guilt.T.J. one of my favorite guys of the governments elite team.He has been a loner for so long you feel his loneliness but with his job he has felt he needed to be that way.T.J. even considers his co-workers like family but never really letting them get to close. But, after meeting Jenna he know things are about to change.
T.J. and Jenna I believe were put in each others paths and were meant to meet one another. T.J. even though the job has made him hard he has a softer loving side we see this as the story unfolds.I believe that they met just so he could heal Jenna he knows what it's like to live with regret and pain and suffering maybe they need one another just to heal from old wounds. The couple make a strange new friend throughout the story that probably will amaze some. And the danger they go to save there new friend has you in amazement !
Just a great enjoyable love story packed with a bit of suspense. The camaraderie between these characters is what made this story work for me and made it so much fun.Great characters and a great plot. Two people who were destined to be together but, neither expecting or looking to find love need the healing that must come first before there can be love that lasts a lifetime..This dangerous tale was filled with twists and turns and the ending has you wondering if there will be a happy ending after all ?
A recommend read to all those looking for a fun read and a bit of suspense !

This is the third book in the romantic suspense Delgado’s Dirty Dozen series by Donna Kauffman: Light My Fire: A Loveswept Classic Romance is a re-issue of a Loveswept Classic Romance #857 originally published in 9/97. Delgado’s Dirty Dozen #3 (T. J. Delahaye’s story). It is a stand-alone story but you will enjoy the others books in the series.
T. J. Delahaye is a member of an elite tactical squad, Delgado’s Dirty Dozen. He is currently on medical leave for a knee injury. He is headed to his final session with his physiotherapist at Paradise Canyon Rehabilitation Ranch when he takes a detour; following a trail of unmentionable through the Siskiyou Mountains. The unmentionables belong to Jenna King another patient from PCRC. She had packed up her belongs in a makeshift backpack and went AWOL against doctor’s orders; not telling a sole where she was headed…which was apparently straight into a ravine. A storm was coming and her options were quickly dwindling; until help arrived. And boy did he arrive…as he joins her at the bottom of the ravine – unconscious. The ravine is quickly filling with water, both are injured – they must work together to overcome the insurmountable odds and survive.
A heartwarming read filled with humor, vulnerability, and faith that good karma will eventually befall the characters. Something needs to make up for the bad crap that the author puts the characters through.
Jenna and T.J. 'collide' together in the most unusual of ways. Jenna is a strong, independent woman who has been living with her guilt over past events in her life. She stumbles down a trail and T.J. - a tough secret agent who is recovering from a knee injury - tries to rescue her. Only to stumble himself and end up face down on a ravine.
And this is were the fun began, at least for me.
These two were so perfect for each other it was ridiculous. I am usually not fond of 'insta-love' romances, but these two I could definitely see together. Jenna, so capable and stubborn, with her walls firmly in place was the perfect partner for T.J. With his humor and understanding he 'saw' Jenna. He recognized that she was troubled and he made it his mission to help her out - both emotionally and physically. I loved him! Tell me, who could resist such a man?! ;-)
Donna Kauffman managed to bring these two characters to life through humor, banter and deep emotions. I really felt for Jenna. The author expressed her anguish and guilt in a way that made it easy for me to relate to her. It also helped that with each emotional scene she presented a bit of humor was also added. The banter between these two? AMAZING! It kept the story from being too heavy and it also showed a different side to the character's personalities, which helped endeared them to me more easily.
The writing was very good and the pace was perfectly executed. Each event written brought more out of the characters, so by the end I felt like I knew them for real. I appreciated the fact that the author took her time in bringing them together intimately. They were injured and anything too sudden and acrobatic would have been unreal. So although their chemistry was very palpable and very hot, when they finally came together it was in a way that not only had me riveted but also brought out their concern for one another and the connection they had found. It made their getting together more believable to me.
T.J. and Jenna's journey of self-discovery and forgiveness made for a great read. To me it had all the elements for a fantastic romance - amazing characters, humor and deep emotions and amazing chemistry.
I would like to thank the publisher, Bantam Dell, and NetGalley for the chance to read this!
Wow! What a great book! When reading the premise of this book I thought "Eh, sounds okay, but nothing to get overly excited about. I'll give it a read and see." I had no idea how much I would enjoy it. I can't say enough about it. I loved it!
Jenna King is living her personal hell everyday. Losing her brother at the young age of 11 to fire, Jenna becomes a smoke jumper to make up for the past. History has repeated itself. Caught in a bad situation while fighting a fire Jenna's partner saves her life, but dies himself. Trying to outrun her nightmares, her past and the guilt Jenna decides she is done with rehab and she is leaving her own way. With nothing more than the clothes on her back, a couple outfits stuffed in a back pack made out of a pillow case and some determination she heads out through the hills and mountains to hike home. Underestimating her healing she loses her footing and falls down a hill and puts herself in a really bad situation. Along comes TJ Delahaye to the rescue.
TJ Delahaye rescues people for a living. So, when he comes across Jenna King injured at the bottom of a hill and a storm coming, he can't just leave her. Recovering from an injury himself TJ knows the best thing to do is go for help, but he just can't make himself go. In an attempt to save her he ends up falling further down the hill than she did and injures himself further in the process. Now, they have to help each other if they want to make it out alive. Throw in a baby llama that has gotten caught up in the storm and some undeniable attraction and TJ has his hands full.
This story has great banter. The characters relate to each other so well. The baby llama angle just cracks me up. The love scenes were hot and sexy. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a fun, hot romance. Great job, Ms. Kauffman!
This book was provided by NetGalley for my honest review.
Light My Fire is romance action story. It does have some love scenes in it. The two main characters are wounded, stubborn heroes. Jenna King was a smoke jumper but her last fire she got hurt and her partner died. Jenna is staying at Paradise Canyon Rehabilitation Ranch. She decided to leave without telling anyone. Jenna packed her clothes in a borrowed laundry bag and started to hike out. Jenna thought she was healed enough but she was not ready, when the path she was on fell down the ravine. Jenna was stuck with ankle swelling and rain starting. T.J. Delahaye was on a small hike saying goodby before his last doctor appointment than leaving to catch a plan back to where is work is stationed. When T.J. finds a white bra he decides to follow and see who left it. T.J. was about to turn around and head back to Paradise when he heard noises and screaming. he was on the top of path when he saw Jenna and asked her if she was okay. She said she was and to go back and then said go find shelter. T.J. could see she was hurt and tried to get down to her. When he fell and tumbled down the mountain. He went past her and down and got stuck. with water rising. Jenna tried to see where he went over and ended up sliding again and landed on him. Now both were hurt worse, water rising and no way to get help. They are both determined to save each other and not want any help but have to work together. You have to admire what they both are willing to do and suffer to try and help each other and Bob a lamma they rescued on their journey. Based on this book I would read more from Donna Kauffman. I was given this ebook to read in exchange for honest review from Netgalley. 9/10/2012 PUB Random House Publishing Group imprint Loveswept

Review:
"Light My Fire" by Donna Kauffman good romantic contemporary suspenseful read. This was a third in a series of Delgado's Dirty "Light My Fire: A Loveswept Classic Romance" is a reissue of a Loveswept Classic Romance #857 originally published in 9/97 by this author. We find from the novel that T.J. Delahaye who was a covert agent that saved people for a living. This time T. J. will be found rescuing a 'wayward hiker' only in the end he will be the one who needs a hand and that came in the form of Jenna King. Who was Jenna King? Jenna was once a 'elite firefighter.' Moving on... in this novel we will find how these two met which was quite by accident when Jenna she slips down a mountain and T.J. trying to help a 'damsel in distress' falls and this leaves these both in a 'compromising position ' where to make it... 'they have to help each other if they want to make it out of this situation alive.' You will find "Light My Fire" a great story, with well developed characters, a humorous 'baby Ilama and those hot, sexy love scenes only to give you a good novel. This is were I say to find out more you must pick up this good read to see who this author will lead to the end to what happens after these two people meet.
If you are looking a a good romantic contemporary read, I would recommend "Light My Fire" as a good read.
This is the third in the Delgado’s Dirty Dozen series. As a recent fan of Donna Kauffman’s I am going back to find her older books which are being re-released having read Santerra’s Sin (1st) and Silent Warrior (2nd) I wanted to read this book but even if I hadn’t read the other two this book can stand alone and in my opinion is better than the first in the series and just as good as the second. There is an immediate pull when you start reading it because of the intensity of the first chapter. Finding out Jenna’s backstory right away really draws the reader in. The book takes place in less than 24 hours so having a connection between characters that soon is pretty far fetched but they do have a very intense 24 hours for sure. T.J. is very alluring in the strength of his character but also his easy way about him. And Jenna is fighting some demons but is up for the fight and willing to fight alone until T.J. comes along. There is not much suspense since there is no aggressor in the book but there is a lot of tension in what they go through in these short hours together. The story is great and a quick read. I think any fan of romance will enjoy it. And Bob is not to be missed.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoy reading books where one character is wounded (bodily, or in their soul) and this book provided both. The characters were ok. A little bit overdone I thought, but I suppose in a romance that's often to be expected. Their struggles were interesting to read and well thought out.
I'd recommend it to people who like (harlequin) romances set in the wilderness.
