3.5 ✨ Even though I’m not a prepper, I do love me some apocalyptic fiction, and thus I’ve often thought about surviving in states of crises. But The Urban Prepper Handbook has given me a lot of new angles and insights that I’ve neglected until now, especially as someone who recently moved right into the city center.
I really appreciate the approach taken. It’s very focused on teaching and encouragement instead of shaming. There are a lot of handy lists that I can now work through (which is great from an educational standpoint haha). I have to say that I do feel some parts could’ve been considerably shortened, especially because of the way everything was organized and flowing. There were a lot of things that popped up multiple times in multiple segments, and that did get a bit repetitive at times.
Mental health also has a designated section, which I really love! Especially, because it’s quite realistic and not some of that macho stuff.
However, as a renting college student (in a shoebox apartment), some things did get a bit unrealistic. That’s a really small point, though, since of course, it’s hard to cater to everybody, and Ethan did a good job of tailoring everything to an urban environment.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
