A secret crush ignited. A bookstore in peril. A love that defies expectations.
Jamillia never expected her childhood crush on her brother's best friend to reignite. Axel never thought he'd risk his dream for the girl he always saw as off-limits. But fate had other plans when they reunited at Sacred Pages.
I returned to Passion Pointe to escape a failed relationship, not to fall for my brother's best friend. But when Axel offers me a job at his struggling bookstore, everything changes. He's handsome, kind, and no longer just a teenage fantasy. But, am I ready to risk my heart again?
I've poured my heart and soul into Sacred Pages, determined to prove myself to my father. Then Jamillia walks back into my life – no longer my best friend's little sister, but a beautiful, brilliant woman who challenges everything I thought I wanted. Can I balance my dream with the unexpected love growing between us?
As Jamillia and Axel navigate their growing feelings, they must confront family expectations, personal fears, and the looming threat to the bookstore. Can they find the courage to fight for their love and their shared dream?
'Crushing On My Brother's Best Friend' is a clean, sweet, small-town, instalove romance featuring a protective hero who falls hard for his best friend's sister, forced proximity and boss/employee as they work together to save a charming bookstore, and a love that defies all odds. This emotional journey of healing and rediscovery promises a happily ever after that will warm your heart. If you enjoy childhood crushes rekindled, slow burn tension, and undeniable chemistry, this book is for you!
A very cute, quick, and clean read! I know this was written to be a short(ish) story, but I felt like it wasn't as impactful with all the character development and buildup left out. The end was jarring and far too quick!! I didn't like the epilogue being written from Liv's perspective...I get that it is supposed to be a small taste of the next book, but it still felt strange to me.
This is a cute enjoyable quick read. Jamillia has always had a crush on her brother's best friend Axel. But nothing became of it because she was always the little sister of his best friend. She is now living in New York and calls her brother for help. Axel comes with him to rescue her. Jamillia goes to the bookstore owned by Axel and realizes that he needs help. She kind of pushes her way in and helps him with getting the store back into shape. These two end up on a cloud of happiness but will that cloud disappear when it all becomes too much, and Jackson Jamillia ex comes back into town. This was a very cute enjoyable quick read right from the beginning to the end. Lily told a great storyline with two characters that you just can't help but love. I recommend grabbing this one and can't wait to read more from her.
This is a fantastic story about Jamillia, Axel, Liv, Jamillia’s best friend, and Jamillia’s brother Emmanuel. The story starts with Jamillia in New York and in trouble with a job and her boyfriend. Jamila calls her best friend Liv to talk and is told to call her brother and come home. When Jamillia’s back in town with her brother and his best friend Axel she is finally able to breathe. Emmanuel takes her with him to deliver a shipment of books to Axel in his book store and while there Jamillia notices the sad state of record keeping Axel does and volunteers to take a job there so that she can help him become profitable. Axel is under extreme pressure from his father. Both Axel and Jamillia have a lot of baggage in their lives that complicate their lives. The ending of this story is fantastic. I would love to recommend this book to anyone.
Is a sweet small town, insta love, forced proximity romance with no cliffhanger. Some of the lines I really like ----- you are not a failure. You took a risk, and it didn't work out. That doesn't make you a failure. It makes you brave. ----- "it was all smoke and mirrors." ----- "Pretty sure I didn't hire you. You kind of strong-armed your way into the job." ----- How will Emmanuel react to Axel's interest in Jamila? What is Jackson up to? These and other questions will all be answered. I loved Jamilla and Axel's story and I'm sure you will too. I can't wait to read her next book.
A relatable and entertaining story, with a mixture of being unique while also a little cheesy. You’ve got likable business girl Jamillia, and Axel, a good guy who owns a bookstore, and then both of their reluctance to enter a relationship until they fess up. And, of course, a silly misunderstanding and an apathetic dad to tie it all together.
Overall a very nice little romance novel. I look forward to reading more from Lily Love!
This is an enjoyable, cute and quick read. It is relatable and entertaining while being a little cheesy as well as unique. When Jamilla calls her brother for help, his best friend Axel goes with him. Nice romance novel with a happy ending.

brighter future Both Jamilia and Axel carry heavy burdens from the past, so I was pleased to see that when they joined forces their future changed for the better.
