Fiancée for a Year
Growing up without parents, Flora focuses all her dreams on her boyfriend Lucas, a charming and generous doctor, but the jerk breaks off their relationship the same evening she expects him to propose.
Dr. Lucas Alonso is determined to stay single. Fate has handed him one problem after another—a terrorist’s bomb that injured him, a brother involved with drug dealers, a baby niece left in his custody, a gorgeous girlfriend for whom relationship means marriage, and a bunch of thugs hot on his heels to make him pay for his brother’s mistakes. Then, there’s his obsessive mother, a perpetual problem.
Surgery may have healed his physical injuries, but it hasn’t stopped the violent nightmares that continue to assail him at night.
To take care of his niece he needs Flora’s help. A fake engagement between them for a year would allow him the time to find a loving couple to adopt the baby, and have the drug gang arrested. All he has to do is convince her to play along.
Being falsely engaged to Lucas might help Flora achieve her dream of being a wife and mother. Playing the role with her whole heart, but a different agenda, she hopes to reach her happy ever after before the year is over.

Anytime I see a book by Mona Risk I know it will be a good one. This one does not disappoint me. Once you start reading it is hard to put down. I really like her writing style, how she makes you feel like you are there and not just reading the story. Her books are inspiring and cause a mixture of emotions that I enjoy when I read a good book. If you haven't read one of her books then you really should give her books a try, you don't know what you are missing.
This one is about Lucas who was in the war and came home with severe nightmares. He doesn't want to submit his long time girlfriend Flora to them so he keeps her at arm's length. Flora is a determined woman and usually gets what she wants. She wants Lucas.

This reader enjoys the interconnection and interaction family in the Mona Risk’s Love Plans Series. Book 17 - Fiancee for Year is a page turning story with a Florida setting, believable characters – Dr. Lucas Alonso, ER nurse Flora, an adorable baby, helpful neighbor and family, a twist and turn plot involving drug dealers, and with a believable resolution. Author Mona Risk also addresses the nightmares of PDS.
