Who gets married out of convenience? Apparently, I do. My best friend was only supposed to be my fake date to a high-stakes Vegas event. But when my ex showed up with another woman on his arm, my friend suggested the ultimate pretending we were engaged.

When I accidentally mention my medical insurance issues due to a car accident, he proposes taking our charade to the next level—a temporary marriage until I'm better.

I nearly spit out my drink.

Yeah, right. Like that won't completely ruin our friendship.

But we can’t go back now. Our charade worked so well that everyone bought it—even my ex who leaked our Vegas wedding all over the internet.

Now we have to go through with this farce…at least until I'm better and the media storm dies down for my hockey star husband.

If that wasn't complicated enough, my sister is married to his brother, which means this fake marriage just took things from ‘mildly complicated’ to ‘full-blown family soap opera.’

We'll have to sell this to our friends and family by fake kissing and sharing a bedroom, all while sticking to our friend zone rules behind closed doors.

But there’s just one tiny secret he doesn’t

I’ve been in love with my best friend since I met him.

When he pulls me close and says, “my wife,” I know I won’t ever forget that.

I might have married my best friend out of convenience, but love is anything but convenient.

Perfectly Wedded is a closed door hockey romcom with a holiday epilogue that includes tropes like marriage of convenience, forced proximity, and friends to lovers. This is the first book in a clean, closed door hockey spin off series with just kisses but all the emotional payoff.

This is NOT the first book in a series. The previous book is about the fmc’s sister and the mmc’s brother. The MCs met at the beginning of it and that’s when their story started 😭😤

This was such an ugly move to market this as a first book. It’s like making someone read Marrying Winterborne but not telling them about Cold-Hearted Rake, iykyk. On top of that this book was filled with cameos. It was like being on a party where everyone knows everyone and I’m just standing awkwardly in the corner because I’m the only stranger.

We meet the MCs when they wake up in one bed in a hotel in Vegas. Nothing happened! I mean they got married, but otherwise - nothing. They are in love, but staying in the friend zone because of reasons. The official reason to get married is not love, the love part is unofficial for now.

I would have probably enjoyed this book if it wasn’t for the reasons listed above. The writing was decent and the chemistry between the MCs was good too. Vale was very sweet and it was obvious that he was crazy about Sloan.

It was maybe a little too clean for my tastes (they’re married ffs, let them have some fun!), but that’s a minor thing, the emotions were done well and even the third act was handled nicely. I wouldn’t even call it a breakup, maybe a short freak out but not more than that.

Highly recommended for people who read the previous books!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

3.75⭐️ im a simple girl. if a book has a man holding a hockey stick on the cover, i will read it.

this book was the perfect short and sweet palate cleanser after the darker romance and fantasy i have read recently. it was super fasted paced and their story was so so wholesome and sweet. although this is the first book that i have read in this universe, i loved the found family of the team and their spouses and im excited for the next couples!!

the only thing about this book that bumped it from a 4 to a 3 is that vale and sloan were a little too insta-lovey for me. usually in a marriage of convenience, the couple is against each other at first and you see the development within the relationship throughout the book. since both the characters were best friends and had known feelings for each other already at the start, the development was missing for me but i still loved seeing them grow with each other.

**This is a marriage of convenience story that was endearing. Vale and Sloan marry so that she can use his health care. She has some medical issues that require expensive medications and so hockey player Vale suggests the fake marriage. This book was entertaining with characters that showed growth throughout the story. Vale was a great character and his love for Sloan was powerful. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

This book had so much potential. However, once the sister showed up for the honeymoon. I lost interest and the book was difficult to finish from there.

Oh my word!!! I knew I was going to LOVE this book from the moment that I saw that cover and read the synopsis!!! Grace Worthington has done it again! She's captured my attention and caused me to become lost in another one of her books! I love her writing style and can't get enough of these hockey playing characters and their lady loves! And I'm a sucker for a good marriage of convenience story. And hello, best friends, long time pining and hockey! Yep!!! Sign! Me! Up!!!

That first chapter is a doozy!!! Especially with Sloan and her history, if you haven't read the previous books connected to this one then you'll find out as you read the book. But I couldn't stop grinning and loving that first chapter knowing how much these two have loved each other for years.

Sloan...stop fighting it! You know you love him! He's your best friend and guess what girl? He loves you too! Like Sooooooo Much!!!! Can we just say that the he falls first trope is super swoony?!

Yep! This is the Rom-Com I was needing to read this month. And I think I need to go back and read it again really soon. Because just thinking about all of the scenes while I've been writing my review has me wanting to be immersed in this love story again! I'm hooked! And did I mention HOCKEY? Hee Hee!!! I'm a hockey fan and so I'm definitely loving all of these hockey books!!!

Stop reading my review and go read this book!

Content: Kisses, some mild innuendos. The characters share a bed but they are married, and nothing happens, everything is kept fade to black or closed door.

I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

What would you do if your best friend was willing to marry you so you could get access to a good health insurance because of a medicine? That's what Vale did to help Sloan.

After she had an accident that left her with some memory failures and severe headaches, she discovered that there was a medicine that could help her recover more. It was too expensive and her health insurance wouldn't cover it and that’s why marriage was one of the only viable options.

A hockey romance with a marriage of convenience between two best friends. Of course, this marriage only helped them to admit that they already loved each other.

I liked Vale a lot more than Sloan because he was really trying hard to make sure no one found out the truth and to make her feel as comfortable as possible. I understand that she was reticent, but still...

//

Let’s face it ladies if it has a hockey man on the front I’m going to read it it’s like a magnet.
I enjoyed this cute little read, marriage of convenience. Friends to lovers.
These tropes are cute especially when they both have been pining after each other for so long not knowing the other has always felt the same.

This is t the first book and I haven’t read the first one but it didn’t take away from the story and never effected the read

“What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas–unless, of course, you get married and have to drag your Vegas decision home with you.”

I adore a marriage of convenience and there’s nothing better when there are hidden, secret feelings of attraction and longing.

A fake date situation turns into a Vegas wedding for good friends Vale and Sloan. Their sudden marriage leads them to pretend for even their closest friends and family, and the way they each battle their true feelings gives this one a strong, swoony vibe. And when rules are made? Well, rules are only made to be broken, right? Rules just up the ante.

1️⃣Be together as much as possible
2️⃣Touch each other as often as possible
3️⃣Make it believable. Whatever it takes.
4️⃣There should be no s*x

I really love Grace Worthington’s writing style. The way she uses words builds intense imagery in my mind and the characters are vibrant and unique. Their associations solidify their personalities, whether it be the hockey team or the romantic pair.

I couldn’t swoon hard enough with all the sparks and electricity humming through the pages. If you love hockey romance, friends to love, forced proximity, fake relationships and marriages of convenience, this is definitely the book for you.

Content: mild+ romance (kissing, some innuendo, swoon, closed door)

"Perfectly Wedded" is a closed door hockey romance following best friends, Vale and Sloan.
When Vale offers to marry Sloan as a solution to her current health insurance problem, Sloan thinks he's crazy; there is no way she could emotionally handle a marriage-of-convenience to the guy she may or may not be in love with. The more she thinks about it though, she realizes this is the perfect solution. One Vegas elopement later, and it's a done deal. Now all she has to do is keep her feelings in check and NOT fall for her best friend while being fake married. It can't be that hard right?
Vale would do literally anything for Sloan. That's why it was a no brainer that he ask her to marry him so she can be on his insurance and get the medicine she needs. What he didn't think through was how hard it would be to keep everything about this marriage fake, especially when the way he feels about her is anything but that.
As the line between real and fake begins to blur, Vale and Sloan begin to question - can their friendship really survive the bounds of marriage?

What a good book. I read this one so fast; I didn't want to put it down!
The dynamic between the characters was phenomenal. Vale and Sloan's chemistry had my smiling and giggling like crazy - they were absolutely adorable. I loved Vale! His character was such a green flag, and he was a great MMC. I was deeply invested in both his and Sloan's story, and, as characters, they kept me hooked.
I loved the depth of both of the characters, and the story itself. There were themes of growth and healing, and the story itself was beautifully written. It was captivating, tugged at your heartstrings, and made you laugh. What more could you ask for?

Overall this was a really great read. It was cute, sweet, and fun, but also had a beautiful side story of growth and healing. I would absolutely recommend this book!

Wow! What a great start! I love how the author started the story and it definitely hooked me and I didn't want to put the book down!

Vale and Sloan have some great banter and it felt like their friendship and comfort in that relationship definitely lend to that. Vale really is such a wonderful MMC, I love him! The way the author included multiple settings was fun and created such a great storyline. I loved that their comfort with each other helped them open up to each other and be so honest in their relationship. This also worked so well in to the character growth and depth. They handled all the bad things thrown at them so well, especially Vale.

And I was so happy to be back in the shared house and see all the familiar characters again that appeared in The Roommate Remodel. I can't wait to read Brendon and Leo's stories!! It was so fun when the hockey guys insert themselves in to all the fun situations in the book! I get a kick out of that.

Really enjoyed this one so much!

Perfectly Wedded by: Grace Worthington

📖 Vale marries his best friend Sloan in Vegas to give her access to life saving medicine. Now, he just needs to convince her this fake marriage should be real.

You'll Find 🔍

- Friends to more
- Forced proximity
- Fantastic settings (no spoilers)

I thought 💬

-It took a while for me to get a grasp on who Sloan was as a person. Due to her traumatic brain injury, she didn’t know this new "after injury" version of herself

-It would be best read after The Roommate Remodel

I loved ♥️

- male narrator is dreamy
- Vale is the ultimate cinammon roll
➡️swipe for some swoony quotes
- tropical setting
- low spice kisses 🔥🔥🔥

Grace Worthington continues to the saga of amazing stories that involve the Carolina Crushers, one of the premiere fictional teams of the AHL!  Last book was about one of the Summers sisters and one of the MacPherson twins, this one deals with the others, Sloan and Vale, these two pack quite the punch!

Sloan has allowed herself to become rather isolated in the past few years after her accident!  The girl had her whole life change because of it and isn’t wrong to be gun-shy of everyone including Vale!  Her sister and the Crushers hockey team have shown her so much love and support, cue the happy tears!  Now Sloan has found herself in Las Vegas with a good friend to lean on, especially when her awful ex turns up!  One simple work trip turns into the crazy, beautiful story that this is!

Vale, the more impulsive of the twins, has and always is willing to lend a helping hand to anyone he loves!  No matter the cost, Vale’s love and loyalty know no bounds!  I adore this about him!  When Sloan’s ex, Anthony, shows up Vale is right there to become the hero, and he does it in spades (or rather diamonds)!  Despite the theatrics of the trip, Vale continues to show Sloan love and sacrifice on a deeper level!  While this is endearing to the women featured in this story, his teammates are less than thrilled!

While this may not be the smoothest sailing of books, it’s what I love about Grace’s writing!  You may have to go through some hard stuff, but with the right protag counterpart you can face it head on – together!  And now knowing she’s going to do more hockey themed books, has me intrigued!  This team is full of players, who could use some softening and/or refining with the right woman!  Can’t wait!  Insert happy dance here!  Bravo once again Grace!

WHAT TO EXPECT
🏒Marriage of Convenience
⛸️Closed door hockey romance
🏒Fake honeymoon
⛸️Friends to Lovers
🏒Forced Proximity
⛸️Run Away Bride
🏒Family Dynamics
⛸️Many "My Wife" moments!
🏒Sneak peek into book 2 in the series! Yay!

Full disclosure... I am a HUGE fan of Grace Worthington's books. So yeah, when I saw another one was coming out, I HAD to get my hands on it. AND it's a marriage of convenience story?! Yes please! You all , Vale and Sloans story is everything. What happened in Vegas did NOT stay in Vegas... and leaked to the press and family back home. Meaning, the marriage that was supposed to be " only on paper" now needed to be faked for everyone! But what happens when you secretly are in love with your spouse? But you're afraid that if you tell them it will ruin the friendship and the "arrangement"?

I loved this! I loved how their feelings were mutual but they were holding back for different reasons. And the "marriage rules" were pretty awesome. I also loved the restraint Vale showed with Sloan, because he was determined to have her ask for what she wanted....And Vale's obsession with saying " my wife" all the time... had to be my favorite! Or maybe he was my favorite, lol, don't tell Sloan! And NO "his wife" was not wearing a fake ring, even if their marriage was fake.

Random quotes out of context:

"My wife. The words knock the breath out of me as memories flood in from last night. A bubblegum-pink Vegas chapel. A kiss fumbled at the altar. The memories slam into me as my stomach rolls. I accidentally married my best friend last night."

I’ve got two things to do before I can fully concentrate on the season ahead: Get my wife the medicine she needs and get through our honeymoon without ruining our friendship.

...Eventually, I’ll have to let him go. And I don’t know how I’ll survive that.

"I plan on making our relationship even more believable...so believable, we might not be able to tell the difference between what is real and fake.”

I inconveniently fell for a hot hockey player and then married him. Nobody knows it’s a fake marriage, and my own husband doesn’t know I’m harboring irrational feelings of desire for him on a daily basis.

I loved this marriage of convenience story! I think it was even more special because it was a friends to more story, as well. There was this excellent back and forth balance of both characters actually wanting more, but being afraid to tell the other, while also being married to each other. So, they danced around those feelings a bit, but I loved how completely Vale was devoted to Sloan. It was clear that he was a true friend to her, but once they married…whew! He began to do his best to show Sloan how important she was to him and that he didn’t want an end date to their marriage.

Sloan was so skittish! Vale really had such patience for her. It showed how much he understood his friend, the woman he loved, and how he wanted to be there for her. The author did a great job of creating believable tension between these two and moving them from friends to more as the story progressed.

You can jump into this first book in the Perfect Crush Hockey Romance series or you could go back and read The Roommate Remodel if you want to see Sloan and Vale as the side characters to their siblings in that book, which introduces the hockey team that both brothers play for.

I loved this story and am looking forward to more in the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Sloan is attending a Vegas event with her best friend Vale. When they run into Sloan's ex with his new girlfriend they pretend to be engaged. When Vale hears that Sloan can get access to a new drug for her brain injury, but her insurance won't cover the cost, he suggests they take their "engagement" a step further and get married. As his wife she gets access to his insurance - and they are in Vegas! Besides, it would only be temporary, until Sloan is better. What could go wrong?

This is a hockey romcom with a marriage of convenience, forced proximity and friends to lovers! It's the first in a new series by Grace Worthington, but we have actually met Sloan and Vale before, in The Roommate Remodel. Its main characters were Jaz and Brax, who happens to be Sloan's sister and Vale's brother. You don't have to have read it before reading Perfectly Wedded, but if you want the whole background story I recommend it!

We get both Sloan's and Vale's POV and therefore we know from the beginning that they both harbor stronger feelings for each other. While Sloan is afraid of ruining their friendship, Vale wants to use the marriage to slowly convince her that they are right for each other. It's pretty frustrating to know how they feel, but not voicing it! I would personally have prefered if their feelings had developed over time instead, but I really like to see all the romantic gestures Vale does for Sloan! I also appriciate the check in with Jaz and Brax, and I sure want to read about our next hockey guy, Leo!

* I received an ARC from the author and I'm giving my honest review. *

This book was so sweet.

I loved Vale. I’ve realised that I love reading from the point of view of the MMCs, and I think I actually prefer to read from them only. I don’t know if there are books that are solely written from the MMC point of view, but if there are, I would love to read them.

Here we follow best friends Vale and Sloan, who find themselves tangled up in a fake marriage/marriage of convenience after Sloan gets the news that she needs a certain medication for her health but she can’t afford it. Fear not, because Vale can help! That’s where marriage politics come to play—and whoop! Soon they are perfectly wed.

I believe Vale falls first, but even if not, he falls hard, hard, hard, and he was a walking green flag on every single page of this book. I loved the sister dynamic between Sloan and Jax too.

Overall, I found out that I enjoy Grace Worthington’s books no matter what the plot is, like her writing is top-notch engaging. I think she’s going to be my go-to author for romance.

Oh. My. Word. My first thoughts after finishing Perfectly Wedded were not even coherent words. My brain just squealed nonsense noises in my brain out of pure joy. I couldn't even begin to type that here because it wouldn't make sense. I just stinking loved this book so much. Marriage of convenience is hands down my favorite trope and I also adore hockey romances so I was reaching out greedy, grubby hands the second I knew about this book. I HAD to read it and it definitely did not disappoint. Everything about this book was a stunner.

Starting with Vale "My Wife" MacPherson! Well okay then. Entering this marriage and immediately hopping on the "my wife" train. I am here. For. It! He was staking his claim in such an adorable, I'm going the distance way that I just wanted to melt into a heart goo pile. But oh man, poor Sloan. Her fight or flight response was definitely set heavily to flight. Homegirl just wanted to run, run, run. But this does make the moment she decides to stick it out so much more rewarding. She had to really believe in herself and the fact that she wasn't "too much" for Vale. What a journey that took her own. Plus I loved seeing more Brax and Jaz and all the crazy Crushers teammates. I'm so excited to see more of them in some more books in this spin off series! No worries if this is the book you're jumping into, you don't need to read any others first but there are certainly other books to check out if you're interested!

I really enjoyed reading Perfectly Wedded.
I love Vale!! He couldn’t be more perfect for Sloan 🥰 They’re friends who become lovers, and their relationship is super cute 😍
There’s something about Grace’s writing that hooks me from the beginning, and I really like that.
To be completely honest, there were a few moments when I would have preferred a bit more detail, but that just proves that I would read anything the author writes.
It's a great read and I highly recommend it.

Wow, that dedication truly hit me: To every girl who's dreamed of finding someone who will promise them forever—and keep that promise. From that moment, I knew this book was going to be something special. I loved Perfectly Wedded with every ounce of my being. It’s one of those stories you can’t put down but never want to end. My ARC copy is filled with highlights because there were just so many moments that had me swooning, smiling, and feeling all the emotions.

Sloan and Vale completely stole my heart. Their chemistry was undeniable, and their love story was both sweet and tender. Waking up married to your best friend in Vegas? Yes, please! Vale was the absolute dream—his commitment, the way he adored Sloan, and his my wife sentiments had me melting over and over again. Sloan’s journey to letting down her walls made their story all the more beautiful. Watching them navigate their marriage of convenience, which was anything but fake, was such a joy.

This was my second book by Grace Worthington, and I’m officially a huge fan! Her writing is captivating, filled with vivid imagery and vibrant characters that come to life on the page. As a massive hockey fan, this book checked all the right boxes for me, and I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series—and the spinoff that came before it!

If you love hockey romance, friends-to-lovers, forced proximity, fake relationships, and marriages of convenience, you need this book in your life. It’s a closed-door romance with implied intimacy off-page between a married couple, kisses-only moments on the page, and no language. Sparks flew, the emotions were real, and the swoons were endless. Highly recommend!

Perfectly Wedded follows Sloane and Vale who are roommates and friends who decide to get married in Vegas so she can get medicine for a chronic illness. Did I mention he is a hockey player?

Technically, this is the first book in an interconnected standalone hockey series but I do feel like I'm missing a little bit by not reading the sister's book first. I'll go back and read The Roommate Remodel. The audiobook is on Hoopla and I immediately downloaded it because it feels like New Girl with a bunch of hockey players. That continues into this book.

About this book:
Friends to lovers
Roommates
Sisters married to brothers
Marriage of convenience for insurance
Married in Vegas
My wife
Hockey
Chronic illness
Only one bed
Tropical honeymoon setting

I absolutely love these tropes and characters, but there wasn't a ton of tension because both Sloane and Vale are already very into each other from chapter one. Sloane is mostly just trying to talk herself out of it. And Vale is trying to talk her into it. 👀

The friendship between the sisters and roommates and hockey team was such a fun dynamic and I would definitely want to continue in the series!Note: there is no language or spice in this book

While this is the first book in a new series, it is a spinoff of The Roommate Remodel, and many characters were first introduced there. If you want the full history of how Vale and Sloan first met and more of an introduction to the rest of the team, you might want to start there, but this can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

I absolutely, positively LOVED this book. Right from the start, I was absolutely hooked. Waking up to remember that you've married your best friend in Vegas? Yes, please! But while it might have been a marriage of convenience, it is anything but fake for Vale. My goodness, this man! The way he was absolutely all in, fully committed to making it work and threw out those 'my wife' sentiments right from the start had me absolutely melting. Seriously, there are no words to express how much I loved how he loved her. Sloan is a bit more apprehensive, but I loved watching those walls come down as the story went on. The chemistry between these two was undeniable and their story was so sweet and tender. I truly could not get enough. I have enjoyed every single book that I have read from Grace Worthington, but this one is absolutely a new favorite! I cannot wait to see what happens next in the series!

Perfectly Wedded is a closed-door romance with implied intimacy off pages between a married couple but kisses only on the page and no language.

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

Perfectly Wedded
Author: Grace Worthington

Thank you Netgalley and Poets and Saints Publishing for my copy! I love a cute hockey romance, and this one included several of my favorite tropes. Friends to lovers and marriage of convenience were both done so well. Sloan and Vale have been friends for a long time. When they run into her ex during a night out, they pretend to be together. Later, when Sloan shares that her expensive medication is no longer covered by insurance, Vale proposes they get married so she can be on his plan. As a pro hockey player, he has great insurance. Sloan reluctantly agrees, and after a night in Vegas they return home as newlyweds who never told anyone what they were planning. It was a sweet, heartwarming read and I loved Vale so much. I need the next two books immediately. This was a perfect brain candy romance with a lot of heart.

Thank you to Grace Worthington for my complimentary audiobook of Perfectly Wedded.
All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Marriage of convenience is one of my favorite tropes. There is just something about going into a book knowing it is going to have a happy ending. Perfectly Wedded took the backward way to that ending but it was a fun ride.

We meet Vale and Sloan the morning after their Las Vegas wedding. (I was hoping they got married in a different chapel only because Mr J and I were married in Vegas).

What follows is the typical walk through all the pros and cons of a marriage of convenience. Throw in the added meddling of a hockey team and a sister and the fun never ends.

I enjoyed the narrators; Stefanie Kay and Liam Lambert and decided to make this an immersive read (since I have KU).

I absolutely adore Grace’s writing! And this book was such an amazing hockey read!

Imagine cinnamon roll hockey player - this is Vale who marries our girl Sloan in order to help her to get medical treatment she urgently needs.

But while the pretending something goes wrong the Vale uses time to pursue his true feelings and make her for in love! Swoon! 🫠🫠 If you love “my wife” moment - this books made for you!

Vale and Sloan’s is the best example of closed door marriage of convenience story I have read this year!

Loved it and highly recommend!

Cute and if you love movies like The Proposal, you’ll love this book!

Best quote: “We don’t need a reason,” Brax says.
Vale takes my hand, the one splayed across his chest and lightly sweeps
his lips over the tips of my fingers. An electrical current shoots from my
fingers through my arm, and I’m left wondering how much longer I can
pretend this doesn’t affect me.”

A marriage of convenience with a helping of love
This is a sweet story of marriage based on convenience when neither is aware of the other’s feelings. Sloan has been in love with Vale from the time they met and he stepped in to support her in medical difficulties and they became best friends. Vale has fallen in love with Sloan as he has watched her fight through medical issues that would make most people give up. Now Sloan has the chance for a cure but the medicine is expensive and her insurance won’t cover the cost. Easy solution, marry Vale while in Vegas and have his insurance cover it, so a marriage of convenience begins. Now they must face and convince their friends, family, team members, and reporters that everything is real. Mix in unexpected honeymoon arrangements, someone leaking info about their marriage, uncomfortable situations they can’t control, and career dreams and you have a tale of finding the strength to admit your love even when afraid. . I received an early copy and this is my honest review.
