CHASING DEATH

The cartel has Paola in their sights.

They know where she is and they're coming for her.

Carver has no idea where she is. He's tried contacting her and she's not answering. She might already be captured. She might already be dead.

He gets a lead on her last location and it's the last place he expected her to go. It's also the last place he ever wants to visit again, but he has no choice.

He soon finds out that there's a dangerous bounty hunter on Paola's tail. A man with powerful connections. A man who's hunting down not just Paola, but all the women who were sex trafficked by Jasper Whittaker.

Carver soon finds out that federal agencies and the shadow organization, Enigma, are involved. And they're willing to throw everything they can at him.

And that's fine. Just fine.

Carver never let the possibility of dying scare him off before and he never will. He's a bull charging at a dead run after one of the few people he cares about in this life.

And anyone who gets in the way is going to find that out the hard way.

Another great Amos Carver book

Every good book has a great antagonist and this one features a psychopathic FBI agent who gets off on dominating women and who also works under the table for the cartel and for Enigma. Has he commits one foul deed after another, you find yourself anticipating the moment Carver gets his hands on him. This installment of the Amos Carver series continues the fight against enigma and ties up some loose ends that have been dogging Amos for a while. We made a new protagonist female who makes an interesting addition to the series. I hope she continues on working with Carver. If you like vigilante justice series and you enjoy seeing your protagonist kicking ass in multiple scenarios, while battling dark ops mercs, cartel hitman, and an assortment of other bad guys, this book is for you.

Carver's looking for Paola (introduced in book 1). She's not answering her texts/emails and he's sure she's in danger again. Although he can't commit, he does care for her and decides to track her down to make sure.

It leads him back to the town where it all started and he's again evading the cartel (their crooked bounty hunter) and Enigma (a group embedded in the govt) that is secretly running/steering a number of govt entities (FBI/CIA/NSA etc).

Somehow, this series seems to go in circles. Book 6 brings us back to much of the origin story. However, every installation in the series leads to Enigma and the cartel. It all kind of seems the same-lots of special operators, bodies, and chases. Not sure this will ever be resolved and give Carver the place on the beach he's longing for.

Carver is never going to be able to just sit on a beach and relax. Not as long as Enigma and the Cartel is still after him. In fact he seems to be getting in deeper and deeper. The book is very fast paced but slows down enough to get to know the characters a bit better. And the bad guy is bad enough that you know at some point, he’s going to get what he has coming to him. The ending leaves lots of room for additional stories, and fortunately isn’t predictable. Looking forward to the next.

Closure

Dead Run with Amos Carver was a thrilling addition to this amazing series. He had to save Paola from Enigma but they did not end up together. She wants to find and save the rest of the girls that got away from the cartel. Carver wants peace and quiet. That’s not going to be… On to the next one.

Long

Way too long and complicated. Rape scenes are too vivid. A struggle to finish.
Doubtful that I will read more works by this author.

Another good one

These stories are exciting, twisty and turny and unpredictable. Did not see the snake in the grass on this one. Good story though

ok

I was a bit disappointed in this book it wasn’t nearly as riveting as the other books I’ve read. It is all about Carvers search for Paola and it got boring in places

Dead Run

What an awesome story. Ome falls into really getting to know the entire cast of characters. Already have book 7 of the series. Can't wait to get started.

Fast paced

This is a continuation of the series and there is a lot going on. Carver isn't sure who can be trusted and his life, along with others, might depend on finding out!
