Some good points and techniques, I particularly liked the Face Your Reflection exercise and Villain Monologue. But the book ultimately fails to build upon it’s Superhero Movie metaphor and turns into chatgpt-esque to-do lists and instructions rather quickly. The constant reminder to subscribe to their website doesn’t help either.

The mask that came with a package is pretty cool though.

Silence Your Inner Critic offers approachable, measurable, and actionable advice to manage fear, self-doubt, and insecurity. The empathetic advice is wrapped in a metaphorical narrative that humanizes your inner critic as a dastardly villain thwarting your inner champion. This analogy — one of a hero battling a supervillain — is so relatable that it makes managing your feelings of stress, fear, and insecurity less intimidating. I appreciate the author's frequent step-by-step tools to apply the book's learnings to your life so you can make measurable progress in reframing your feelings about yourself and your place in the world. I would highly recommend Silence Your Inner Critic for anyone who wants to feel like their self-help advice is coming from a friend who's walked in your shoes and is now walking with you side-by-side as you commit to improving your relationship with yourself.
