I’ve been keeping my head down since I got out of prison—just doing my job and trying to stay out of trouble. But when I see Eve, the sheriff’s daughter, in trouble, I can’t stay out of it. She’s been on my mind since I first laid eyes on her, even though I know she’s off-limits. I’ve already lost six years of freedom, my career as an Army Ranger, and now work as a maintenance man for a friend. But something about this curvy spitfire makes me want more. She is the sheriff's daughter, in grad school, and generally full of sunshine. One night she is at a concert where her friend is singing and gets cornered by a handsy drunk. A tall dark and handsome hunk comes to her rescue and she can feel the chemistry vibrating off of him. He is on parole after a 7 year stint, losing his career as an Army Ranger. He is trying to lay low, doing his job and not wanting any entanglements but he also feels the chemistry with her and it is hard to stay away.... even if he thinks it is for her own good. Auuggh Hutch is the dreamboat protector that every girl secretly dreams of. This guy has been dealt a hard blow in life and he has done what he thought was right despite the personal consequences. He is a big hunk of a man that will do anything to protect his woman or any woman he sees being taken advantage of. It it panty melting. You just want to grab his cheeks and lay one on him. This is a short story format so you don't expect deep character development or complicated plot lines, but you get a full and complete story here. You understand the characters, their strengths and vulnerabilities, you see them work through their feelings and trauma and you just cheer for them. I so wanted an epilogue for these two showing them in the future...but they still got their HEA and I am here for it.

Eve is the sheriff’s daughter. Her mother was killed by a drunk driver when she was out with friends. Because of that, Eve has never had the desire to drink. Eve is with her group of friends at the Evergreen Lakes Resort. They are watching their friend Holly perform. Eve goes outside to take a call from her dad. She is walking by the lake when a man approaches her. He is obviously drunk and is trying to take advantage of Eve.

Hutch was an Army Ranger. His sister Katie was being abused and he saved her. He was thrown in jail for six years and was dishonorably discharged from the Army. He is now on parole and works at the resort as a maintenance man for his friend and he also keeps an eye on all the women who work at the resort. He saves Eve from the drunk guy and escorts her back to her friends in the restaurant.

Eve’s friends think Hutch is a good goy. Holly tells her that Hunter keeps to himself and will never make the first move. Eve is attracted to Hutch and knows he is attracted to her.

It was cool that Eve made the first move on Hutch even though he turned her down and she was hurt. It was a cute story about second chances.

Dangerous Protector is Book 6 of Promises From The Heart. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, opposites-attract, grumpy-sunshine, small-town, curvy girl gets her hunk romance. Eve is a young, sweet, sassy, and curvy college student. She is also the sheriff's daughter. Hutch is a hunky, grumpy, somewhat reclusive, ex-military man who went to prison and is now out on parole. He has been crushing on Eve from afar but thinks he is not good enough for her. When a drunk gets handsy with Eve one night, Hutch steps in. Eve is immediately drawn to him. She tries to approach him multiple times, but he pushes her away. Can she show Hutch she is all in? Will Hutch realize he is good enough for her? OMG, these two... I just wanted to slap Hutch at times. Their chemistry was pure fire, and once Hutch realized the error of his ways, we got a very happy ending. I think I fell in love with Hutch a bit myself. They were so perfect together. I loved it and am sad this series is over. I need a steamy bonus epilogue for this couple, lol.

This is a first time read for me of Ebony's.

It was a great read. I love how Eve has her own mind, finding herself as she realizes how attracted she is to Hutch, and how her Sheriff dad taught her trust her instincts.

You can't help but feel for Hutch. He had his whole career and freedom taken, even if it was for a honorable reason. He has paid his debt, not a ounce of trouble since, but he felt tied down to his history.

It was really heartfelt watching him struggle, and how his sister wanted him to see the great man he was. You really felt the vibe of him further punishing himself with the bare essentials, and no real human contact.

You love how Eve is really putting herself out there for the first time, and its not going exactly to plan. The town see's who Hutch is, and accepts him. They all having nothing but good to say.

I love how they finally work it out, and get their HEA. Its beautiful to see someone get a second chance, and a first chance at a real lasting love! Heat level Spicy doesn't hurt either!!

Talk about sizzle! I just love this outstanding 5⭐️ winner. Eve has finished school and on her way to having her own therapy practice. She goes to celebrate with her friends when she sees a hot looking Michael aka Hutch. The sparks just fly between them and the air crackles. Will it be worth the risk for Eve to try and connect with Hutch knowing he's on parole? Can Eve see a good man through Hutch's grumpiness and walls? Does Hutch realize he's just right for Eve? What can I say about this author except outstanding. She adds hot passion, a bit of humor, and fiestiness which more than makes up this exciting ebook. So if it's forbidden fruit and passion you want then this ebook is just right for you.. You definitely won't regret getting it.

Life is about second chances. It is about seeing past “mistakes” and judging people on who they really are and how they treat you.
This book was well written and had originality in its storyline. The characters had good depth, and although there was some angst, it fit in very well with the story.
This book is a standalone with no cliffhanger, but does mention some characters from previous books in the series.if you haven’t read the “Promises From The Heart” series, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it. You can read this book first, it won’t take anything away from the other books if you are like me and want to know everything about everyone in this cute little town.

This was an intriguing story where the characters really drew me into their relationship development. They were so different, and the dynamics were unusual with the female being the aggressor, that I kept needing to knew what happened next. My heart hurt for Hutch (Michael) for what he had endured and lost, and for how he viewed himself as a result. It became increasingly obvious that he was alone in that assessment, and he was his own worst enemy regarding moving forward and having a happy future. Eve was determined to understand the enigmatic man, and refused to give up easily. She's not the type to make concessions. I liked both characters, but particularly Hutch, while Eve grew on me with time.

I liked the story 'Dangerous Protector' by Ebony Snow very much. It was about a sweet caring woman who just happened to be the sheriff's daughter and a big handsome man who is recently let out of prison and is on parole. They are both so attracted to each other, but Hutch doesn't think he deserves to be around Eve because he has a prison record. Also, her father is the sheriff, and Hutch doesn't want that to affect his parole. When Hutch comes to Eve's rescue, she tries to show him that she is interested in him, but she gets her feelings hurt when he constantly rebuffs her.

Dangerous Protector is gorgeous, swoony, and super hot! Hutch is the ultimate in awesomeness—protective, kind, caring, aware, and such a beautiful heart. Even with his haunted past and his self-perceived faults, he does the right thing and the honorable thing. Eve is sassy, smart, and so caring. The sparks between these two are gigantic and amazing; I just love their banter and the powerful connection between them. With a bit of drama, lots of intensity, and a dynamic world, this novella is so much fun! More, please!!!

After meeting Hutch in a couple other stories, I love that he finally got his own. My heart broke for him that he didn't think he deserved love or a good woman, but Eve kept up with him. Such a good story with a great HEA.

We read about Hutch in previous Promise from the Heart books and now we get to know him in depth. Hutch is always looking out for the safety of the women who frequent the resort that he works at. When he saves the Sheriffs daughter, Eve, she sees something in him and decides to pursue him. This is a great story of a man who feels like he doesn't deserve the love of a good woman and the woman who is determined to prove him wrong. It is a standalone but the entire series is worth reading.

Loved, Loved, Loved this book. Hutch is fresh out of prison and working at the resort. Eve is in school going for her degree. She is also tje Sherriff's daughter. He has been fighting his attraction to her from afat. A chance encounter brings them together.

This series is very good. This is the story of Hutch an ex-con who is settling into his new life after prison. Eve is the daughter of the sheriff who on a night out with her friends is in danger. Between these two there are many differences but the feelings flow and end together having their deserved happy ending.

Enjoyed this story! Hutch has always tried to do the right thing. When he sees Eve their attraction is immediate. Can she show him how good she believes him to be? Was so happy to their journey work out. Received a free copy.
