Tanya Wilde developed a passion for reading when she had nothing better to do than lurk in the library during her lunch breaks. Her love affair with pen and paper followed soon after she had devoured all of the library’s historical romance books!
In 2020, she won the Romance Writers Organization of South Africa (ROSA) Imbali Award for Excellence in Romance Writing for Not Quite a Rogue.
When she’s not meddling in the lives of her characters or drinking copious amounts of coffee, she’s off on adventures with her partner in crime.
Wilde lives in a town at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains, South Africa.
Fred Savage, Earl of Saville, and Lady Theodosia King seem the most unlikely pair to be together. Too much alike to be amiable. Yet the book of White's brings them together on a journey filled with traitors, highwaymen, the book taken and a night in a country cottage. With continuing problems to pass the book to the next heiress, Fred and Theo discover they have more in common than they realized. Unfortunately, her six brothers and the Black Highwayman continue to harass them. Descriptive sex, lots of kisses, a coach full of humor and her mother who has a plan. I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book from NetGalley.
I loved this ride. I laughed so much. I really enjoyed both main characters. The ball at the end, was just too much. Watching them begin to come to appreciate and respect one another was wonderful. And our Theo was so bold when she came on to Field. I appreciated her mother standing up to her brothers on her behalf. I do think that these books add on one another and that at least the first book should be read for context.
This is my 15th book by Tanya Wilde. Six of those books I read before I started really leaving reviews so I can only give you what I wrote in my personal notes. I wrote that they were good stories and had sex scenes although not super descriptive. However, I LOVED book 1 in this series. I listed it as a December 2023 favorite read. Book 2 was a slow burn and Book 3 was super cute and they were also really good reads.
I liked this story and I liked Theodosia and Field. The only thing is there back and forth insults went on far to long. They were still bickering and insulting almost 70% into the book. That got old after a while. I did like the ending. Overall good.
I really enjoyed this book! It‘s a witty and fast paced enemies to lovers story with additional forced proximity and road trip tropes, lots of LOL moments, adventure, action, mishaps, some steam and very likable main and supporting characters. I already knew Theodosia and Field from the previous installment. Their character traits are very similar, both are hot-tempered and forward, which creates a firework of friction, tension, bickering and banter between them throughout the book. I loved how their enmity gradually turned into a protective partnership and love as the story progressed. I was also pleased to meet Selena and Phineas from the previous book. As some of the events in this story are related to the events in the previous book, I recommend reading the books in order.
Lady Theodosia „Theo“ King has had enough of her mother’s blind matchups and being chased by her best friend’s older brother and nemesis Saville. So she decides to skip the rest of the season, avoid her overprotective and overbearing brothers whose return to London is expected soon and travel to Brighton. Field Savage, Earl of Saville, still feels guilty about his involvement in the scandalous list of heiresses in White's betting book, so he takes on the task of protecting Theo from the fortune hunters, despite her taunting and insulting him at every opportunity. When Field learns that Theo has secretly left London, he immediately sets off on the hunt to confront her about her insults and acts of vandalism towards him and catches up with her. But then they are attacked by a gang of highwaymen who leave them behind both penniless and without means of transport. However, as the betting book was also in the stolen carriage, they are forced to work together and set off in pursuit of the gang...
All in all, a very entertaining read with lots of fun, action and fire that I am happy to recommend!

A Little Bit of Hellion is the fourth book in Tanya Wilde’s ‘Ladies Who Dare’ series. Although it can be read as a standalone for the romance, reading the previous books might give a better understanding of background events – although Tanya explains it more clearly in this one. The basic premise is that a few bachelors made a list of pros and cons of several heiresses. Said list was stolen and then listed in White’s betting book leading to them be mentioned in several wagers. To protect them, the men responsible are assigned to individual ladies – which only serves to infuriate them more! Lady Theodosia King has had enough of being tailed by the infuriating Earl of Savage – especially since he was primarily responsible for the situation she finds herself in – hounded by money minded suitors. She decides to leave London for some respite. But not only does said Earl follow her – they end up being the target of highwaymen! Now stranded with her adversary for company and left penniless, Theo has to forge a reluctant alliance to retrieve a certain book. But the more time she spends in his company the more she realises that she and Field Savage may have more in common that she thought. This is a smart and funny enemies to lovers/road trip romance with quite a lot of laugh out loud moments with the situations Theo and Field get into. It takes a while for Theo and Field to realise that they are meant for each other but when they do it’s just right. We get to see that Field is not the angry and impulsive boor he sometimes came across as and he opens up to Theo about his past. It was nice to see Field and his sister Selena have a heart to heart since they were mostly at odds in her story [book 3]. This was an entertaining read and I look forward to the next in series. Based on how book 3 ended, I'm so glad this was the next story in the series. It was pretty obvious that there was a strong connection between Field and Theodosia so I wanted to know what could possibly happen to make them put aside their supposed dislike. The only thing I think was missing from this book was these two characters having the true heart-to-heart they needed to have - with him explaining enough about his past to explain why her calling him a weed was so devastating to him and with her telling him more about why his comment about her eyes was so hurtful. Other than that, I loved them having to work together after being robbed and their antics in getting their belongings back. I'm glad the plot involving the Black Knight was resolved before the end - although I did want to know what ended up happening with the servants who had betrayed Theodosia (or at least Theodosia getting to confront them herself). Theodosia's brother's hearts were initially in the right place, but trying to force her to marry someone she was adamant about not wanting to marry was way too overbearing. Luckily Theodosia's mother knows how to take control of a situation. The ending was perfect for these characters, and it was nice that they got to have a double wedding with their best friends. I especially liked the last part between Field and Selena - they needed that moment and it was really sweet. I think I know the direction the final book in the series will take and I'm looking forward to it!

This is book 4 of the Ladies Who Dare series and is a delightful historical romance that brims with charm, wit, and sizzling chemistry. Lady Theodosia King is a heroine you can't help but root for—strong-willed, independent, and utterly fed up with the societal pressures of matchmaking and fortune-hunting. Her decision to flee to Brighton for respite sets the story in motion, but her plans unravel when the enigmatic and maddening Field Savage, Earl of Saville, becomes an unavoidable complication. Field is an unconventional hero with a past riddled with missteps, including his role in the notorious heiress list scandal. His determination to make amends—and his knack for getting under Theodosia’s skin—makes him a captivating foil to her fiery resolve. Their banter is sharp and witty but it’s their forced partnership following a highwayman attack that truly brings out the best in both characters. Stranded without resources, their journey evolves into a charming adventure full of mishaps, mischief, and mutual discovery. The chemistry between Theodosia and Field absolutely sizzles, with their differences serving as both friction and foundation for a burgeoning romance. The moments of vulnerability between them add depth to their relationship, making the eventual romance all the more satisfying. With its well-drawn characters, engaging plot, and delightful twists, this latest installment is a delightful addition to the series. I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing and am voluntarily leaving my review.
i went off on tropes yesterday but i have my weaknesses and one of them is forced proximity/reluctant allies stuck on a journey together and have to make ends meet to lovers like i will eat that shit Down. i have sooo many favourites in that list and this just got added to it. the bickering was top notch and the pace and writing was seamless (except a few grammatical errors which don't bother me). every scene, every dialogue just fit. nothing was extra and the story flowed smoothly. theo and field are great together but they standed out on their own remarkably, like they each were their own person and there was substance to them which is a quality rare to this genre because at one point, couples start to meld into one another due to large number of them. i feel like theo and field will stand the test of time. they were meant to Be. not like yehhh of course they are endgame, but they just fit each other so well. there was no other person for them. this book was also a testament that you don't need a whole lotta spice for it to be good. there is one sex scene and even that was so perfectly timed and an important part of the story, not for gratification. love that. a new author that I'm glad I gave a chance. the low number of ratings have never been a deterrent for me and neither should they be to you. you never know, you might find a new favorite.
I liked the story of Theodosia King and Field Savage very much. They brought the best and worst in each other and were comical at times, which I enjoyed.
Theo decides after the book listing heiresses is published, she does not intend to endure the silly fools vying for her dowry vs getting to know her as a person, to quit London and head to Brighton. Imagine the shock when her coach is stopped mid journey and Field Savage, the Earl of Saville, stops her to ask why she had ruined his favourite waistcoat and called him a “weed.” He also confronts her to ask why she is running away.
Unfortunately for them, hot on their heels is the band of highwayman who steel their carriage (with the book inside!), take Field's horse, Dream, and leave them stranded on a lonely road! To add insult to injury, Theo realises that she is betrayed by the family’s servants, the coachman and the maid that accompanied her. She is livid!
What follows is the two of them trying to make it to safety and find temporary lodging. All this time alone leads to them falling in love and for Theo to discover a sensitive side of Savage she did not know existed.
All in a cute, fun story that you will enjoy. I received an ARC from the publishers and NetGalley and submit my honest review voluntarily.
Saville and Theodosia’s road trip to recover the betting book after being set upon by highwaymen is an amusing romp in this series and a refreshing break from all the drawing room drama. Theo is running to Brighton to escape confrontation with her 6 brothers after her part in the scandal exposing the White’s betting book. She is also trying to escape Saville, who has set himself as her guard dog, because he can’t deal with his sister Selena and sent Warrick to guard her instead. Theo and Saville have been butting heads viciously, with Theo joining her best friend Selena in cutting up Saville’s waistcoats and defacing his portrait in retaliation for his part in the heiress list. But during their adventure to recover the betting book from the thieves, Theo and Saville grow to appreciate each other’s abilities and recognize how often they are actually in agreement. After a gin fueled night of passion, neither are initially able to truly reckon with their attraction, but once Theo’s brothers catch up and tear them apart, trying to force Theo to marry someone else to avoid scandal, they both realize life without each other is not what they want.
What an absolute ‘WILDE’ ride this is. Theo is a wildcat and she calls Field a hellion! This is truly one of the funniest and most fun books I have read this year. I am a “banter” fan and this story doles it out in spades! Watching these two duke it out was hilarious, fun, sweet, sad and happy all throughout . I adored Theo’s very spirited attitude towards her brothers and how she gave as good as she got with them. Her mother is hilariously devious, handling said brothers with ease. Would have loved to have seen a scene where the brothers figure out they had been outmaneuvered by the two women in their lives, especially Seth! I felt for Field, trying hard to overcome the abuse he dealt with as a child and the secret his sister spilled at the end was very touching. A GREAT read! You REALLY need to pick this story up!
I received this story for free and these are my own opinions
The opening chapter of this novel had me laughing out loud, and to some extent, the humor continued throughout the novel. The plot became swamped by the ongoing bickering between the main characters and as much as the Earl of Saville would have liked to protect Lady Theodosia, she made it difficult for him at every turn. Sometimes it seemed that the only mature person was the Earl of Warrick, Field's brother-in-law. Theodosia's brothers appear to be protective of her, but in fact, they are bullies with a total disregard for their sister's wishes. Fortunately, Theodosia's mother knows how to handle them. Finally, taking matters into their own hands, the novel comes to a fun conclusion. Part of a series, this romance is nevertheless a standalone. I received a copy of this book as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.
What is a rebellious young lady to do when she has six brothers who are more than a bit over protective?. Learn how to escape from them and get in lots of trouble is the answer. That is how our heroine thinks. Unfortunately, sometimes, the trouble she gets into affects others who are not happy about it.
Our hero is one of those affected by her mischief, but he also feels guilty about what he did. So he wants to make sure she doesn't get into any more scrapes. That's never going to work.
There is quite the adventure ahead for our characters. Danger, excitement, and giggles galore. A fast paced story that is part of a series, but each book can be read on its own.
Fun, funny and awesome! The fourth book in this series about a list made up by gentlemen of the ton about heiress' looking for husbands. This story is about Field, who lost the list, and Theodosia, the heiress that he had on the list. They are so stubborn, argumentative and a joy to get to know. Theo leaves London with Field following her, what takes place is packed with adventure and fun from a holdup, to a take back, to a farm, to running and so much more. The story is wholly entertaining, the banter will have you laughing hysterically and the six brothers will keep you engaged. Don't miss this creative yet romantic bit of fun.
Field and Theodosia take us on a wild ride. They start out as enemies, but what lies beneath all that enmity? She is off to Brighton, but he won’t leave her in peace. He pursues her, and when the two are stopped by highwaymen, they find themselves stuck together. They take us on a wild ride full of mischief, mayhem, and romance. It turns out that love is lurking in the background, and neither Field, nor Theodosia can resist for long.
This story is delightful, with some laugh-out-loud moments. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to those who like lighthearted historical romance with wit and adventure.
Who would have thought that Theo and Field would end up together? Opposites may attract but like calls to like. Ladies Who Dare is an absolutely brilliant series. Tanya is a master storyteller! I was hooked from the first book! The characters are brilliant and the story is a fresh idea. Sometimes a series can get redundant but this is not one of them! You get to catch up with favorites from books 1-3 and meet new ones. Here’s hoping that Theo’s mother the Marchioness set up a bunch of “blind matches” for her autocratic sons! It would serve them right!
I'm kind of conflicted. There were several times that I laughed out loud at the antics of Theodosia and Field. I typically will cry much more while reading than laugh, so that's high praise. The author sure can write witty dialog and banter. But their predicament just became to be too much and I just wanted them to have some quiet, normal time between the two of them. I was tired FOR them. I wanted them just to have one normal day of eating, drinking, sleeping in a bed, getting to bathe.... and just tell each other their feelings. Thank you to netgalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.
This is the 4th book in the series, and we were introduced to the characters earlier in the series, definitely two strong personalities. Theo and Field are thrown together frequently while Field is trying to protect her from the misfortune of a betting book that had been stolen. The adventures are unbelievable but so much fun. The only downside is that there are a few typos and grammatical issues I would have thought proof reading or an editor would have caught. Other than that, I really liked the story and looking forward to book five and six. Enjoy!
Theo has had enough of fortune hunters as well as Field who has always irritated her. Field follows her to Brighton and when he catches up to her on the road they are held up by highwaymen who take everything. With no money, they must rely on each other to survive. They decide to go in pursuit of the highwaymen while Theo’s brothers are in pursuit of them. Can they ignore their growing feelings for each other? I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.
This was an entertaining love story. The characters were strong-willed, and their humorous and witty banter was absolutely delightful. There were so many interesting issues and mis adventures that had me chuckling. I enjoyed the outcome of a shocking romance with a happy life. I highly recommend reading!
A wonderful romance, a road journey that brings two unlikely people together and finding love neither expected. An enemies to lovers romance that hits all the right notes. I enjoyed the banter and chemistry between Theodosia and Field.
If you can look beyond the plethora of errors that spellcheck cannot distinguish this book is great. The story is engaging and entertaining. Would have been 5 stars if not for the many times I was thrown out of the story by grammatical and editing errors.
I really enjoyed reading this Romance and its Amazing characters. It was exciting, riveting and a very fun read! I will recommend this author to my family and friends. I know you will love it as well! Read and Enjoy!
Wonderful fun filled adventurous story, great story line great characters. They'll make you laugh, and smile, Lord Field was as much as a hellion Theo was, they were the perfect match. Thank you ♥️
