I give this book 4 Stars as it was a little slow to get into. That changed around chapter 5 when things started getting interesting. I was not at all disappointed in this continuation in the series. I really enjoy reading about this family and have already started on the next one. This is a great summer read on those hot days of July.
This is #5 in the Westcott Bay series about the Clifton family. Connor has come home because his mom, Margie and her husband were in a moped accident. He is working at a resort as a waiter and meets a young lady, Theresa, who works on the movie film crew. Connor isn’t really sure what he wants to do for a “real” job and Theresa’s parents don’t approve of her choosing a film crew job over joining their law firm. This is a sweet romance and a nice escape in these trying times. I recommend this series.
It is such fun to be back on San Juan Island in Saltwater Falls. It is nice to catch up with the characters from previous books and to get to know Connor and Teresa. This series has interesting, three dimensional characters. This book has some danger, a few misunderstandings and a hint of unrest. But primarily it is Connor and Teresa's journey to love - on a twisty path that kept me reading far into the night. This book is another sparkling addition to the Westcott Bay series.
Saltwater Falls: Westcott Bay Novel Book 5 is by Amelia Addler. This series is very good for summer reading as it isn’t too deep and has limited characters who reappear in each book. It is like going home and seeing old friends again. Maggie and Chief Hanks had gotten into a moped accident and had some broken bones. Maggie is home but has to be limited in what she can do. She has to have help getting dressed and driven to physical therapy. Connor, her wayward son, had given up his nomadic life to come home and be there for his Mother while he contemplates what to do with his life as he wants to be more responsible. He has taken a temporary job at a luxury resort while he is home. Here, he gets involved in overhearing things he shouldn’t and gets involved with one of the guests which is forbidden. When he comes across some very scary men, he takes a chance and emails their pictures to his Uncle Mike who works undercover for the FBI and it is dangerous to contact him. Teresa works for the head of a production company which is trying to make a film about zombies on the island. She has come ahead of the company to scout out specific places to film and to get permissions to use those places. This is her first job and she is determined to do it well as she has only a year to get into the film industry before her parents pull her back into the family and make her get a law degree. Teresa has always gone along with her parents view of her future until this; but she still doesn’t want to fail them. Although she falls for Connor, she is careful to keep him at arms’ length to keep him from distracting her. Teresa’s boss is the actor Chet Laret. He is full of himself. He thinks he is the best actor, the best producer, the best man on this earth. He comes from a very rich family which is why people surround him. This film is his baby and he intends to make it follow his view exactly no matter what it takes. However, his investors have an in with the mob and they are keeping a close eye on him and the money. Chet is determined to get his own way regardless of who gets hurt.
Amelia Addler takes us back to San Juan Island to see what our favourite family is up to.
Conner has returned home to Westcott Bay to help his mother after her moped accident. Along with his sisters, he is determined to aid in her recovery. He is also debating what he should do with his life. He has been a nomad, roaming the world experiencing one adventure after another, but now maybe it is time to put that life behind him and be more responsible. He is contemplating his life while working at a local hotel when he meets someone who just might be the one to help him make his choice that much easier.
Teresa on San Juan Island as a location scout for a local movie. This is her one chance to prove to her family that she can make it in the film industry. If this does not work, she is expected to return home and follow her family’s footsteps and become a lawyer. When Teresa stands up for a handsome waiter at the hotel she is staying at, her life is about to change in ways she did not expect.
In this novel we have family, community, love and a little mystery all wrapped into one brilliant story by Amelia Addler. The characters are so well written, and I love how all the members of the family are in the story as well. It is wonderful to see how they are all developing throughout the series. There is even a surprise character that shows up who I hope to read more about in a future book. As I finished this one, I am already anticipating the next. This is one series you are going to want to dive into! A huge thank you to the author Amelia Addler for an Arc of the book to read and review. All my opinions are my own and unbiased.
I literally cried and had long lasting goosebumps near the end of this one. It was so sweet to read about Connor and Teresa’s relationship growing. Of course, like all the books in this series there were points of misunderstandings and not thinking rationally. Teresa was projecting onto Connor her own insecurities. Too emotional and assumptions made.
This was also about following your dreams and not allowing anyone stand in your way of what you believe. Come to think of it, all the books have included dream-following. They also always have two people meeting and then falling in love eventually. Each relationship poses its own complications, but in the end it always works out for the good. Very sweet.
I enjoy catching up with this family on San Juan Island. There's always something unexpected around the corner but not unbelievable. The characters are likeable and witty and as usual, there are tear-jerking moments. I'm glad Teresa didn't cave to the pressure her family was putting on her and that Conner finally had the courage to begin finding his place in the world. This book has a great takeaway: You can't let fear of failure stop you from doing something you love.
Absolutely loved this series until this book I’ve tried and tried picked it up put it down and no just cannot get into this book the story isn’t grabbing me, yet with all the previous books in the series I couldn’t put them down but try as I might this one isn’t for me which is a bit of a shame as I bought the full series maybe one day I’ll give it another go but for now I’ll move on to another book
This book in this series based on San Juan Island features, Connor, the son in the family. He decides it is time to stop wandering the world and settle into an adult lifestyle. Teresa is from a wealthy family who want her to be a lawyer. She, though, dreams of a life in the film industry and is on the island helping with a zombie movie. Interesting storyline with a hint of the mafia thrown in. No sex or profanity.
Amelia Addler Saltwater Falls (Westcott Bay Novel Book 5) ARC REVIEW Conner and Teresa This was Connor's book, along with his girlfriend Teresa, and the rest of the siblings plus Hank and Margie. Connor meets Teresa while he's working at the resort and she's on location for a movie shoot. I enjoyed reading this book, and the rest of the series as well!
Great read. This book was so hard to put down. From the first page it set us off on such a thrilling adventure it was nearly impossible to put down. I loved all the amazing family love and inclusion for everyone that needed a family/ friend. Super read as usual. I can’t wait for book 6
I've enjoyed this series a lot--until this book. It was very disappointing from shiftless but nice Connor to unbelievable dumb Teresa. Hard to believe she was a law school grad. Equally hard to believe she let people walk all over her, didnt' see anything weird happening around her, and lived off her parents showing total shock when they cut her off. Ugh. terrible book.
I really enjoy this series. Sometimes it takes me a while to catch up with all the characters. There are just so many to keep up with. This book was good and the storyline was about movie making. While very interesting I miss the happenings at the barn. I want to know about the weddings, baby showers, graduation parties and any other happening. Again, a good book.
I am so enjoying this series! Really hoping additional books are in the works. Each book is a stand alone and wonderfully done. Never anticipated the brother's story because he is seldom mentioned in previous books.

This is the story of Teresa and Connor as they figure out what they want to do with their lives. I enjoyed this fun, sweet romance with a bit of intrigue. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another great Westcott Bay story. This one focusing on Conner, the adventuring son of Maggie. The nomad roaming from one outdoor job to another comes home to help his mom and thinking it is time to settle down to one place and a career. How many of us finish school then settle into the responsible job and the struggles of being an adult. Where is the adventure in that? But for some people the longing for something different comes later in life when it disrupts families. I think Conner has the right idea have that adventure while you are still young get it out of your system and discover what you want in life. This is a wonderful read but suggest you start with Book 1. Ms Addler does a great job of following up on previous books but it's not as good as reading them from the start. Enjoy!
I am a sucker for books that keep you on the edge of your seat. These books are just that. You also, keep up with the characters from the other books! Just the best.
Margie and Hank and family was such a great read, the story was good and I liked the addition of Connor and Teresa. Hoping There will be more of a story about these two in the next book. Very enjoyable and a lovely family vibe.
A continuing saga. This one involved Connor and Theresa, a zombie movie (which was odd), uncle Mike the FBI guy, and some mafia men. Just sort of dragged snd the zombie movie was just not believable.
Okay... This is pretty much the first misstep, but it was a pretty big one. Did this book end? Or were the rest of the pages lost??? Too much left open to end it there. This probably isn't a 3, but it definitely isn't a 4 either!
Totally different than the rest. Enjoyable and quick reading. The entire series takes you away from your day to day troubles and into theirs. This book definitely takes you away.
I enjoy getting to know each character in this series on a deep level. Every character has a distinct and captivating backstory. I sense that I am a member of this family. With this book, Amelia Addler has once again exceeded expectations. I'm eager to start reading the next book.
It’s ok. I like the characters and I like how even the bad guys in the books aren’t descriptively bad. But these books are little unrealistic to me. Just some of the scenes make you say “really?”. They are very clean books. No sex and no foul language.
I really enjoyed reading this book! There is some mystery, some romance, and a lot of family kidding! I recommend this book to anyone who loves to read!
Five books in the series with another planned, all linked together but telling an individual story. Really enjoyed all five, a very nice beach/garden read.
