Leia writes edgy and emotional stories in Dark Reverse Harem Romance. She enjoys crafting flawed heroes with a dark side and strong women who hold their own.
We hit the conclusion to the trilogy here and our crew is up against some pretty formidable foes. Not to worry though, they have some very strategic plans that they work on to bring everything down and reassemble everything the way they want to.
Definitely check trigger warnings yet again. There are extremely heavy moments throughout this series and this book is no different, but at least there aren’t drawn out torture scenes of main characters in this one. We pick up exactly where we left off in the last book and the twist that is revealed about Joe actually wasn’t surprising at all, kind of anticlimactic if I’m being honest.
The guys are working on a lot of plans and executing take downs while the FMC is in some remote cabin after losing their baby in the previous book and having a hit out on her. They do very well and Julian manages her businesses effortlessly and with so much care. The guys and our FMC all miss each other and can’t wait to reunite.
I expected a lot more when it came to Angelo and the leader of that secret ops teams deaths and it was kind of disappointing and I didn’t love that it felt almost like they tried to give Angelo a mini redemption arc? The guy is positively vile, but I digress.
Things are wrapped up in a pretty little bow by the end and there are no plot lines left open. The crew got super lucky to be honest, with all of their planning and operations, including sophisticated hacking, they didn’t actually run into too many issues along the way. I did like that Milo got his revenge on Leo for killing his parents, he definitely needed that.
At times the pacing was a little bit slow but overall this was a great trilogy and the characters were layered, the plot was original and multifaceted and the relationships with the characters was beautifully done. I loved seeing more of Carlo and his crew and how well Nico and Carlo worked together and shared the same opinions and outlook on family, loyalty and how things should be run under their new regime.
I do think though, that more time should have been spent on their feelings about the miscarriage and loss of their baby after the car crash. It kind of gets glossed over considering how much guilt that she carried about that, it’s not something you snap your fingers and get over in a jiffy.
Leia King has out done herself with this dark Mafia RH series. Hands down the BEST series I've read in this genre this year. My emotions are high right now. This book in general had me in my feels. I can't even begin to explain my feelings right now. I feel wrecked, relieved, heart melted and mad all at the same time. This book had it all!! Now I'm going to my dark room and try to calm down. Absolutely loved this book!! A must read!!!
Caterina- My heart is with her and I couldn't be prouder of the person she developed out to be. Her flaws were met and she kicked butt while dealing with everything. Strongest FMC yet!
Nico- my feral man! The way he changed and developed into a better man was inspiring. I am so happy to have him grow into the man we all needed. Leia you did an phenomenal job with this character. Thank you for giving him to me....I mean us.
Emilio- YES!!! Teddy Bear eyes got what he definitely deserved and I couldn't be happier!!! He is still perfect in every way. So happy for him! Ugh so sad to see him go.
Julian- Our Sunshine has finally gotten what he desperately needs and wants in life. I couldn't be prouder than I am right now. He went through it all and came back stronger. My heart feels lighter knowing this.
Joe- did NOT see that coming. Love him though and I also wanna smack him around a bit.
Bianca- you go momma!!
Marco- *deep sigh*
When I say that this series needs to be read ASAP, I'm not joking. This has been an adventure of rollercoaster emotions, actions and so much more. Could not put it down. Highly recommend this book and author!!
A perfect ending to a suspense-filled series. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. And after that cliffhanger at the end of book 2!!!! OMG.
Heartbreak right of the bat in this book. Not only are we still healing mentally from the occurrences in the second book, but this one picks up right where book 2 left off, and we're watching them all get hit big time. But it all comes to a head in this book. They all come together as they should, with the help of a few more characters from other series that I need to catch up on, and come out the other side victorious.
Nico really grows in their foursome. He's caring, loving, protective, and understanding. Everything that I was hoping he would be by the end of this series.
Milo is still the teddy bear. He's protective in all the ways he could be while still being the sensible one in the foursome.
Julian really came a long way in this series. After being nearly broken, he really came out the victor here. He's smart, funny, and really shows every day how much he loves his created family.
Caterina is still not a damsel. She never could be. And I love how her boys are always encouraging her to participate in the entire dynamic. Every fight, she's included in all the ways she can be. I absolutely loved this FMC so much.
Joe needs to be slapped but it was nice to see how he ended up in this book. I think he's going to be fine.
Levi is amazing and I'm realizing that I need to go back and read his books too.
Bottom line: this was the first series I've read by this author and I'm about to become a huge stalker of all things Leia King.
This is one of the best series I've ever read. The writing puts you in the spotlight to actually envision what they're going thru. The battles, heartbreak, and even the sexy scenes. Milo finally gets his revenge in the most unexpected way. Nico forms relationships with caring duty. Julian finally sees to his mental aspect they his finally getting the last person who shamed him. And Caterina, well let's just say that she finally got the family she truly deserved.
Written really good, no details were missed. Characters , action everything was perfect and read flawlessly. In fact I was so into from the first book that I read these series in 2 days. Couldn’t put down so good! Highly recommend
I loved this whole series. All the pain and heartache they all went through but they came out on top in the end and all the monsters were put down as hey should be.
This was freaking amazing!!!! I love when all the storylines are tied up nicely and everyone got their happy ending. Fantastic conclusion to this series! Bravo 🙌
Way too drawn out. Liked the story but it moved way too slow. Loved the ending. Expected Julian's kill to brutal, was not. Angelo deserved torture. Just saying.
