Sleighed by the Farmer's Daughter is part of the Sweet Christmas Kisses series, which is a multi-author series that can all be enjoyed as standalones or in any order. It is also connected to the author's Mountain Men of Whispering Pines series. I had not read any books in that series and was still able to enjoy this one--- though it certainly had me looking forward to reading more in that series too!

If you love Hallmark Christmas movies, this book will absolutely be up your alley! (Seriously, this one would absolutely make a wonderful Christmas movie!) Getting rescued from the snow at Christmastime is a trope that we see fairly often in holiday romances, but I love that the tables were turned a bit with the MMC being the one rescued this time... with the FMC dressed as an elf, no less! It was a fun little twist and drew me into this story right away. Seth and Mackenzie had a rather unconventional romance, but I absolutely adored them together as they worked to get everything together for Santa's village. There was so much Christmas cheer and family mixed into the story, and I enjoyed every minute! If you're looking for a cozy holiday romance, this is one not to be missed! This is the first Deanna Lilly book I've had the chance to read, but it most certainly will not be the last.

I loved this book and this series!! In this book Seth is run off the road in a blizzard and thinks he’ll be stuck in his truck overnight. He calls his brother and before the cell service dies his brother tells him to turn on his flashers to let people know he’s off the road. Good advice because otherwise Mackenzie (Mack) wouldn’t have known he was there. Much to his surprise a short time later a girl dressed as an elf driving a sleigh pulled by a reindeer pulls up by his
truck to get him out and take him back with her.

With the blizzard raging they’re stuck for four days but he helps her with farm chores and finds out her family sets up a Santa Village each year for the town. The only problem the rest of the family was called away on an emergency and it’s only her to do it. Seth volunteers to help out so they do the farm chores with the animals and clear the snow to get the village set up for the town and children to enjoy. The town is without power so the townspeople can’t help make the cookies so Mack and Seth do that as well. They find they enjoy each others company even though they’ve only just met.

When her family returns just before Christmas he knows he wants to see more of her and asks her to spend this coming year traveling with him doing her work with him as he travels to various parts of the country. They decide to marry back at her parents farm where they held the Santa Village two months before the village will need to be set up again for the coming year.

This is a sweet, wonderful tale of family values, of what families mean to those who grew up where strong bonds existed and what Seth saw and wanted in his future when he saw it in Mack’s life and her family’s interactions with each other.

I enthusiastically recommend this story and I also recommend this entire series! These stories are ones that will make you feel good inside no matter what time of year you read them. They’re made for Christmas but it’s fine to read them when its July as well and its 100 degrees outside! The idea of doing things together is what makes this story and these stories click together! Things aren’t chores if you do them with some one else- especially if you like that person!

I urge you to get this book and get these other books as well! They are books you can read and re read again and again and enjoy over and over as many times as you want!

These stories never lose their charm or appeal! They are ageless!!

Mackenzie meets Seth on her way home after working at Santa’s village. Heading home after being away for over a decade, he unfortunately takes a wrong turn and is stranded in the middle of nowhere. Mac notices his lights and goes to find out if he needs help. She invites him to her home where he finds her family out of town and the farm animals need taken care of. As he helps her with not only the farm, but also with the Santa village festivities, an attraction starts to build. He is there just till the blizzard passes or will their attraction for each other blossom into something more? Will both families accept the other and combine the families into one? What a delightful story.

Deanna Lilly is a new author to me and I am surprised I have not come across this author before.

Part of The Sweet Christmas Kisses by multiple authors I was interested to read this book after reading the blurb.

I love stories set around Christmas, it’s a time for family and friends.

This is Seth and Mackenzie’s story and one I enjoyed, set in small town Cloverdale. It was a sweet and witty story that ticked numerous boxes for me.

Seth is traveling home for Christmas when he gets caught in a snowstorm and ends up in a ditch. Mack is his elf savior and brings him back to her family home. Through days of living and working together to get through the snowstorm, a budding relationship grows between them, but when it’s time for Seth to finally hit the road again, can they make their long distance apart work? An enjoyable read with a lovely HEA.

Sleighed by the Farmer's Daughter was a cute small town romance. I really enjoyed the storyline, and characters in this book. I think that some aspects maybe relatable to some readers. I love the family Christmas tradition super sweet. There also is a mention of a pregnancy loss, and prayer in one very small spot neither take away from the book or are detailed but just a FYI if that bothers you please be aware.

This story grabbed my attention from the first page. I loved Mackenzie’s spunk and grit, a true farm girl in every way. Seth’s character is easy going and a perfect complement to Mack. The Christmas themed story definately gets me in the mood for the holidays with a cup of hot cocoa by the fireplace. Truly enjoyable HEA Christmas read.

This was a fun story about a rescue by a real reindeer and a cute Elf! Really enjoyed the characters getting to know each other! A few too many storylines running, but it all ended up lovely! Ready for those sleigh bells!

This is book nine in the multi-author series Sweet Christmas Kisses.

I don’t typically like insta-love romances but Sleighed by the Farmer’s Daughter was done so well, I didn’t mind. Seth and Mackenzie worked really well together. I laughed throughout the book but I was laughing so hard during the manure scene that I had to stop and catch my breath.

I liked how Mackenzie was able to heal Seth’s pains when it came to his own family. This was just a wholesome book.

Sleighed by the Farmer’s Daughter is the first book I have read written by Denna Lilly and I look forward to reading some more. This is part of the Sweet Christmas Kisses Series written by different closed-door authors, and I am hooked. This book is hallmark meets Noelle/Santa Clause.

The character development was good. It was fun seeing Seth change his heart. Opening up his heart to the idea of having a family and being more involved with the family he already had. Mackenzie grew in other ways.

The storyline and setting were cute. Stuck in a snowstorm in a Santa’s village, being rescued by an ‘elf’. Just screams hallmark. If you are not a fan of hallmark-sweet, cheesy, predictable then this might not be your cup of tea. But sometimes we all need the prefect little story to make us dream.

The relationship between Seth and Mackenzie was a sweet whirl wind of a romance. It was only a few days that they were together when they decided they would consider marriage. I appreciated that the story had nothing more than kisses.

The Christian element was light, but I still appreciated that it was there. If you are looking for a clean Christmas romance heavy on the hallmark with light faith, this is the book for you.

I absolutely loved this book. If you love small town HEA, kisses only romance, then this is the book for you. The author, Deanna Lilly, pulls you in right away. A chance meeting for Seth and Mack is where the story begins. Mack helps Seth learn to live and love
again. There is a little bit of Christmas and laughs and makes you want to root for an HEA. Deanna Lilly wraps up the ending in a cute little bow. I couldn't recommend this book more. Go now!!! Get this book!.

Call him the calf whisperer -Seth aka Tinsel falls for Elf Mackenzie aka Miss Peppermint on a reindeer farm. What an headline and what a story….Stranded in the snow , she shows him the way on her sleigh , yup you heard me right . Leading on with Prancer to guide the light . Saved from the storm he survived , thanks to Mack and her family’s reindeer farm. “Do I know how to wrap gifts? Please, I might be one of Santa’s newest hires, but I promise, I’ve got skills.” “Alright, elf, let’s see what you’ve got.” But with the town’s power down . Messages are coming in … Cancel the Santa’s village event. Ho Ho No! Not while there’s Tinsel around their tree. Mack or should I say Miss Peppermint and Tinsel are sleighing it as the Christmas Carols blare . “I hope you mean that because if my family doesn’t arrive on time, you’re in the hot seat to be Santa, which means , you get to drive the sleigh“ “You mean, with the reindeer that like snacking on me more than their grain? Can’t Santa arrive in a tractor this year?”
“It’s not even your tractor, you goof!Exactly! when else will I be able to play this song to get the attention of a smoking hot girl?” Well this is not all she wrote of course , their story is endearing but what happens next after the snow he’d done clearing? The family arrive and have a big surprise because Seth is almost double their shoe’s size. He’s a big fella and Daniel’s all bravado , tries to crush his hand like an avocado. But he was forgetting the stone. And now he’s probably broken a bone of his own….well anyway they show they mean business and it’s down to brass tacks , yeah the odds against them with the snow and the time frame an all were all stacked . But tinsel is already planning on coming back next year to muck spread some holiday cheer .Boy loves girl and girl loves boy . It’s the way of the world and creates such Joy and that’s just handsome. Well this certainly was a fortunate hitch when his vehicle and trailer home got stuck in a ditch while trying to spend the holidays with his family. His brother and wife’s baby he still hasn’t seen . But this year he set off in plenty of time so he was keen to see them, for this to happen , he couldn’t have foreseen. Well he’s missed Christmas there’s always New Year. Will he have someone or something to take with him this year? Well this Elf knows what he wants and it’s peppermint in large amounts . He can’t get enough he’s so enamoured , he’ll spend his days from now until March to prove he is the man enough for the wedding march. His brother Eric he won’t believe him , can’t quite believe it himself . Him an Elf and not left on the shelf…Brilliantly devised book by Deanna Lilly and her excellent writing , so in depth and ultra exciting and inviting. Great characters carefully created each with their own traits. The immersive storytelling that I think is great. A real feel good Christmas tale that tells us it’s ok to not fit in , to be your own s-elf and let others in you won’t fail. There’s family bonds of all sorts and sizes , the main thing is to always be kind and caring and willing to share and you can find your one true love most anywhere . Distribute wealth and health and happiness that’s all anyone can do I guess. As god is my witness , that’s what I take from this book , and I find that’s great .

Seth is on his way to meet his family for Christmas but gets stuck in a ditch in the snow. With no way out he thinks he will have to wait the blizzard out.

The next thing he knows is an elf is knocking on his window.

Mackenzie is visiting her family on the farm when her family is called away. She is overwhelmed with getting everything ready for the Santa’s Village her family helps put on every year.
She is heading home dressed in her elf suit after doing a photo shoot. She spots hazard lights in the snow and finds Seth in his stranded truck.

This is an easy to read sweet clean and fun story. A sweet romance with lots of laughs thrown in,
The plot moves along well and the characters are lovely.

I really enjoyed reading this book.

Seth and Mackenzie have quite a story to tell. I enjoyed escaping 90 degree weather for December snow storms and all the complications that follow. Who doesn’t want to be rescued by an elf in a sled pulled by Dasher? Tinsel and Peppermint have a lot of work to do to be ready for Christmas. Find out all it entails and the gift Santa gives each in this story.

Seth ends up stuck in a ditch during a whiteout snowstorm and is rescued by a cute elf named Peppermint and her reindeer, Donner! The subplot to Seth and Mackenzie's romance is the love and joy family bring. Seth hasn't seen or spent time with his family in years, but MacKenzie's love for her family and their obvious love for her helps open Seth to what his family could be. The story as a whole super saccharine sweet and a simply wonderful Christmas story.

This book gave me a warm comfortable feeling just reading it. The characters are perfect for the setting and as individuals. The antagonism between the two brothers right from the start, is so natural I felt like I was really listening in, and of course breathing easier when Sarah puts the phone on speaker settling both down to being reasonable. You can truly imagine the shock when Mack bangs on his window only to find his face right there, and Seth seeing her dressed in her costume. I couldn't help but laugh out loud. If there were six stars I would happily give this book a six star.

Pluses and Minuses

This intriguing story has its ups and downs. I really enjoyed the first part of the story, which focuses on the hero and heroine in a forced proximity situation. She rescues him from the side of the road just outside her family’s farm during a blizzard, and this section of the book shows them working hard to create a Christmas wonderland that she and her family usually make together. (Her family is out of town and is having a hard time getting back because of the blizzard.) Seeing them work together was a delight, and it truly provided breathing space to show their characters and how they would naturally develop feelings toward each other, even in the compressed time of a week or so. The hero is quite a handy one to have on the farm! He seems to know how to fix just about everything, including cranky machinery!

I had a few issues with the book. The most difficult was the constant head-hopping. In this book, the perspective doesn't just shift between the major characters randomly and often, but the author also slips into omniscient narrator mode, as if she's in the heads of all characters in the scene at the same time and speaks for them as a unit. The omniscient narrator was quite popular back in the 1800s, but it takes finesse to pull it off in a way that doesn't confuse the modern reader. Unfortunately, that did not happen here.

Another issue I had with the book is that it abruptly shifted between the first part of the story I described above and what happened to the couple after that fateful week on her family's farm. Without any transition—and a few words would have sufficed, like “Two months later”—we're suddenly transported from a cliffhanger on New Year's Eve to a not-so-chance meeting on Valentine's Day. I actually flipped back and forth a few pages on my e-reader to see if I missed something. Once I figured out what the author had done, I still wasn't wild about how these two parts of the book fit together, as they were so different. The first part is quite intense, with a couple working very closely together through various challenges as they're preparing the Christmas village on the farm as her family has done for generations to just a few scenes showing where they're at during different times through the next year. I genuinely liked the couple and wished I could have seen more of their evolution as a couple over those months rather than just a few teasing scenes.

One thing I really enjoyed about the story was its focus on family. The heroine comes from a very strongly bonded family, while the hero’s family has been fractured for decades. Pivotal events happened in his childhood, and just about everyone in his family has taken some portion of the blame, creating bad feelings that have festered, allowing them to drift apart. Seeing how much the heroine's family history meant to her, witnessing their interaction, and even becoming a temporary part of it (down to the ugly PJs for Christmas morning) prompted him to want to heal the breaches within his family. I love it when these family aspects are a part of a Christmas love story, as it does seem to be so appropriate for that time of year to begin much-needed healing.

If you don't mind the excessive head-hopping and slips into omniscient narration, you may find this story of these otherwise intriguing characters a worthwhile read during the holiday season.

3.5 stars. I listened to this as an audiobook. Did I really want to be reading a Christmas-themed romance in October? No. But this was going to expire off of the Audible Plus catalog and I did want to read it, so Christmas in October it is. I love the title of this book. I find it very funny and it’s pretty much the reason I added it to my library on Audible in the first place. This was a cute, feel-good time. It was a cute premise and it felt very Hallmark movie, which was great. The relationship accelerated pretty quickly, though. I feel like they were already talking about uprooting their lives for each other nearly before they’d even kissed. Like what are you doing? And there just wasn’t much to this. I mean, I don't think it was trying to be this super deep, sweeping romance or anything, but it was very short and very quick and I could have used a bit more. But I did appreciate how focused this was on the romantic relationship. I know that usually romance books have to have other things going on than just the romance, like stuff with family, friends, a job, etc., in order to be a well-rounded book. But I usually only care or at least care the most about the romance and I get a little bored of all of the other storylines. So I appreciate the aspects of this where they were stuck with each other and there were no other pesky characters around. It just would have worked better for me if there was a bit more to this than two characters meeting and immediately hitting it off and then deciding to be together. Side note, can I just say that the MMC has a very cool, very impressive-sounding job. This was the first book I've ever listened to that used AI voices. And morally, I'm torn. I’m largely against AI as a whole. I hate that it’s everywhere now and part of every conversation. And it feels so wrong to use AI to make an audiobook, because that affects people who are trying to have a job as an audiobook narrator. But if you’re a very small indie author with a tight budget and for you, the options aren’t hire an audiobook narrator or use AI voices, but rather use AI voices or don’t have an audiobook at all…I don’t know. The AI narrations sounded a lot better than I expected them to when it comes to the sound of the voices themselves. But I will say the intonation was off for me throughout the whole book. It wasn’t horrible, but it just sounded kind of weird sometimes. Which honestly made me feel a little bit better, because humans can still do it better, at least for now. It might be cheaper to use AI, but you won’t end up with as good of a product, so at least there’s a tradeoff there.

This is another one of my favorites in the very talented, multi-author Sweet Christmas Kisses series with all clean standalone books centering around sweet first kisses at Christmastime and often involving major snowstorms. In this one, Seth Stoll is on his way to spend Christmas with his family after not having done so for many years when his truck and camper slide off the road because of the white-out conditions and end up stuck in the ditch. Luckily for him Mackenzie “Mack” Adams happens to be making her way home from her family’s Santa’s Village when she notices his flashing lights through the blinding snowstorm. His rescue also becomes her rescue and along the way this magical story and unconventional love story unfolds.
There are way too many things that I enjoyed in this book to mention them all but I will offer a few. The number one thing to make me smile was the teasing banter between not only Seth and Mack but also how she interacted with her brothers and he did with his. Number two smile maker was of course the reindeer, the sleigh rides, the cute names, and all the family traditions carried on for over a hundred years. The romantic awww moments when they ate and watched the snow gently fall, he let her sleep in, he told her he knew she was the one for him, and the proposal. Favorite quotes: first one from Mack to Seth as he’s struggling with the estrangements within his family, “I get the sense you need to air this out like all the other damaging secrets you’ve been keeping locked in your heart. Sometimes, saying them out loud takes away their power. They stop being so scary. You see how flimsy and weak they are and can move past them. Sometimes, you need another person to help you put them in perspective since you have only been studying them from your side of the glass,” second quote is from Seth reflecting on his time spent in Cloverdale, “This unexpected detour to Cloverdale had opened his eyes to what a real family could be, and he was more grateful than ever for getting stranded on this farm in the middle of nowhere—and for the farmer’s daughter who had completely slain his heat, making him want to be a better man.” A clean wholesome delight.

Sharing Love at Christmas . . .

Seth found himself in a precarious situation when his powerful truck pulling the huge camper trailer slides into a ditch at a 45 degree angle during a heavy snow storm. Only a tractor could pull him out now and that may take days before help would arrive. It looked like he was going to miss Christmas with his brother and new sister-in-law, despite his promise. When his younger brother, 10 years in the Army Rangers and used to commanding his troops, called to find out what was wrong (since they had secretly installed GPS tracking on the truck and he saw it hadn’t moved), Seth was furious at the invasion of his privacy. But the worst of the storm is still heading his way, 2-feet of snow expected, his exhaust pipe blocked by snow, running low on fuel, and he needs to get out of there. A nearby property owner, Mackenzie, saw the flashing lights as she was heading home from the Santa’s village festivities and went to see what was going on. She was still dressed in her elf costume as she arrived in a sleigh! She is expecting her family to join her at the farm for Christmas but, in the meantime, kept him busy with chores to care for the animals while they stayed together. He even helped with Santa’s Village as the two of them enjoyed being together. She explained that Santa’s Village is their family legacy. But this year her family had to leave town for a few days to attend a funeral, then this storm arrived and delayed their return home. So Mackenzie has to get everything together by herself now when it usually takes 8 people to prepare it. Will Seth work with her to save Cloverdale’s Christmas? Great book, recommend it to anyone who enjoys a sweet Christmas story with characters you can’t help but love. The H is on his way home for Christmas, driving in a blizzard when he gets lost and then drives off the road and tips over in a ditch. He calls his brother telling his situation, his brother tries to locate him so he can send help but isn’t able to do it. The H decides to leave the lights of his truck on so someone might find him. The h is on the family farm taking care of the animals while the family is gone. She also setting up the displays for the Christmas festival that is always held on the farm for the town near by. She happens to see lights and wonders what it is. Using a reindeer to pull their Christmas sleigh she goes to check it out. She finds the H stranded in his truck and rescues him. The H then helps the h do the chores to take care of the reindeer and the other live stock on the farm. Then he helps the h prepare for the annual Christmas festival that is to be held on the farm. They proceed to work long hours to successfully complete the preparations. As the preparations are about completed the family is able to make it home and help complete the preparations. They also get the H truck and trailer out of the ditch and upright so he can go home and spend Christmas with his father and brothers which he hasn’t done in years. The h returns to the city where she works. The h and H plan to get together for a date when they are able to do so. A date is set and when the H arrives and tells her he has a surprise for her but will not reveal it. He takes her to a place where she can purchase a small trailer and an appropriate truck to pull it. Thus she can go with him to travel the country as he does his work. While he’s working she can make her crafts and sell them. They spend a year doing this then get married on the farm. They get their HEA. Hope you enjoy the book as much as I did.

This book is fantastic and I highly recommend that you all read it. "Sleighed by the Farmers Daughter" is such a fun read that I know you are going to love it...I did.

What happens when you try to drive across country, pulling a travel trailer behind your truck, after working all day, during a blizzard? Well of course you drive into a snow bank and get stuck. So now you and the vehicle and trailer are sitting half in a ditch and half out, at a very weird angle. There is no way you or anyone else is coming in or going out of the right hand side of your truck, you know the one down in the ditch. And how do you get some help you are in the middle of no where. Why do the best plans always go wrong. Seth was headed home after not being there for Christmas in over a decade and to meet his new little 4 month old niece. So much for that promise, but I can not go anywhere right now and not until I can find some help.

The next thing I know there is someone knocking on my window and (I did mention it was almost Christmas) there is an "elf" at my window. Or I guess you can say a beautiful woman dressed like an elf. And the elf is driving a sleigh. I guess she was holding a photo opportunity at Santa's Village and due to the storm was just getting home when she saw my lights. Mackenzie's family owns Santa's Village and the rest of the family had to leave town for a funeral. She was left behind to tend the animals and to get everything ready at the village for a big party where the whole town of Cloverdale attended. She could not let me freeze so she drove the sleigh over to check and see if I was okay. And then invited me to stay at the house until we could get me pulled out of the ditch. And Seth in return helps her get Santa's Village ready for the party. The rest is in the book cause I can not tell you all of the secrets.

Seth was heading to Hickory Falls, Maine in a snowstorm to spend time with his brother, Eric, and his wife and daughter for Christmas when his truck and Airstream he was pulling slid off the road. MacKenzie is staying at her family farm while her parents, four brothers and their families attend a funeral. She is doing a test photo shoot with one of her family's Reindeer, Dasher, at the family Christmas village that's on their property. On her way back to the farmhouse with Dasher pulling a sleigh, she notices blinking lights by the road and goes to investigate. She finds Seth in his truck which is almost sideways in a ditch with no way to get out. Mack takes him back to her family's farmhouse with her. Sethends up helping Mack tend to the farm animals and preparing for the annual Christmas activity that her family hosts on their property. As they work together, they get to know each other. They both have great families but grew up very different. Mack grew up with 4 brothers and her family is very close. Seth comes from a slightly broken family. He left home right after he graduated from high school to go to college. He would see his brothers and dad every few years. That all is changing now that Eric has gotten married and has a baby. Eric's wife, Sarah, wants to bring Eric, his two brothers and their dad together more often so her daughter knows her grandpa and uncles. As I was reading this book, I was thinking it would make a great Hallmark type Christmas movie. This is a sweet, clean, romance with a wonderful storyline. I highly recommend this story.

Our story begins with Seth getting his truck and 30’ Airstream leaning and stuck in the snow. He thinks he must be in a ditch due to the angle of his transportation. Unbeknownst to him, his brother has been tracking his traveling and calls to find out why he hasn’t moved in thirty minutes. He tries to assure his brother that he’ll be fine…. how this will happen is beyond him since it’s a total whiteout by this point. Another great find is that his phone is almost dead, and he has no way to charge it.
Mackenzie (who goes by Mack) has just finished her last photograph session and is eager to get home. She is freezing. Luckily, she’s riding in her family’s antique sleigh being pulled by Dasher, one of their reindeer. As she was getting closer to the barn, she spotted what looked like hazard lights in the distance. She takes off to see if someone needs help and finds Seth. She’s not happy to see him since he’s on their private road, but she offers him a ride to their place.
Cloverdale Farms is the name of Mack’s family business, and they have reindeer, and anything and everything associated with Christmas. There are a lot of chores that she needs help with, including bottle feeding the calves and mucking stalls.
Santa’s Village is a huge part of their community, and a lot of people step in to help, only this year there’s a problem. The power is out in the town, and no one can bake cookies for the event. There are literally hundreds of cookies that need to be baked, and it is up to Mack and Seth to bake them.
What will happen? Will Mack and Seth be able to get everything done in time (preparations that usually take the entire family to accomplish)? Will the people in town be able to get to the festivities at Santa’s Village? Will Mack and Seth become a couple?
