Absolutely beautiful. No other words can describe this book. Because this book helped take the theology I’ve grown up learning and lay it out in such a beautiful and clear manner. My copy is now marked up with highlighted paragraphs and jotted down notes. While a lot of the theology here isn’t new, it was so rich.
My spiritual life would be dead without the Holy Spirit moving in it. It’s because of the Holy Spirit and the outpouring of spiritual gifts that I am who I am and my church is who we are. How beautiful it is to take the time and fully dig in and study something that I never want to become “normal” or “used to”.
I'm supposed to read 2 chapters a day with some of my friends. Along the line I couldn't but continue to read till I finished reading even before the proposed time.
I typically don’t comment on Christian books because I think that they can sometimes just not be for certain people. I could see this being useful for maybe a theology major, but if you have the average reading comprehension skills- you can literally just read the Bible and understand everything this book spoke about.
If you were someone who was positively impacted by this book- I’m genuinely happy for you.
But to be completely honest, the one star is for Jesus. This book took obvious things explained in the Bible and over explained them to the point of overkill. It took me 4 months to get through this. It was one of the most pedantic Christian reads I’ve ever read and the text of this book is exactly why people don’t want to have anything to do with God or the church. Its Principality over Love and Forgiveness, and its pridefully sharing information in a condescending way.
Another great book by Dr. Cho. I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly feel the presence of the Holy Spirit reading his books. I know he's gone now, but I hope to one day let him know how much his legacy has impacted me. Until we meet in heaven I will continue to learn from you.
