What’s cuter than a meet cute at Christmas? How about a meet cute with forced proximity and the beauty of the Christmas spirit intertwined in every page?
Jane and Andrew have booked a beautiful snow covered home for the weekend each for their own reasons. The problem? They don’t know each other and they’re double booked - throw in a storm and no cell service and no way to clear this matter up. The solution you ask? They share the house with all the charming Christmas feels until the owner can resolve the situation. What comes next is a delightful mix of fate and second chances brought to you by the miracle of Christmas. I loved the dynamic between Jane and Andrew. Their chemistry is sweeter and more heartwarming than a peppermint hot chocolate on a cold winters night. The character of Jane and her courage and determination to create the life of her dreams was especially a delight to read. Weaved in to many of the pages is the magic of Christmas and Jane’s eclectic and well meaning family. This is a winner folks. On a cold Christmas Day or anytime you need a bit of magic in your life.
This was a cute holiday romance! Jane and Andrew end up booking the same rental for a getaway. When they can't get ahold of the manager, they decide to share the rental until they hear back. Little did they know that snow and a naughty puppy kept them under the same roof allowing their friendship and attraction to grow! Once the snow cleared, Jane headed back to her hometown and bought a bookstore not knowing Andrew lives in the same town. When Jane and Andrew meet again, the sparks continue between them. With the help of Jane's meddling family and a bit of holiday magic, they find love!

Ooooph…this is why audiobooks should never be read by Ai. I got through about 30% before questioning whether it was the book that was lacking emotion - or the reader. Definitely the reader: a robot. 😆
This had some potential…but there was so much that relied on conversation (with limited backstory) it made the book very surface level. I am not sure if I have much more knowledge of the FMC aside from the green eyes and freckles across her nose.
Did they confess to loving one another before we even have an on-page hug? Meh…points for having decent “bones.”
So I DNF’d at 20%. This is a cute book but it seems like something an older woman would read. No tea no shade. I just think it’s very Hallmarky and I really don’t like hallmark movies. They make me cringe. The moment just doesn’t hit like they’re supposed to. But I’m sure this is a great read for someone else which is why I gave it 3 stars.
Do y u believe in fate? If not this book just might make you. (Yes I know it’s fiction but come on!!) When Jane realizes she’s setting for a “pretty” relationship, she calls off her wedding and takes the honeymoon solo. What she didn’t expect, was to find there was a mix up and there was another man at the house.
Andrew was trying to distract himself on the anniversary of a tough case. Instead what he finds is a mix up and a woman at the house.
Jane and Andrew have a lovely time until Jane unexpectedly leaves without a word or a goodbye. Through circumstances Jane moves back to her hometown where surprise! Andrew happens to live! They both wonder if it can be real love with how quickly it all happened. But with an all too wise Nonna and a series of break-ins things are about to get tinsely.
Give this book a go if you like:
❄️ detective hero 🎄stuck together ❄️ supportive family 🎄holiday spirit ❄️ non dramatic mystery 🎄wise Nonna ❄️ fate 🎄happily ever after.

A Holly Jolly Mix Up is part of the Sweet Christmas Kisses series. This is a multi-author series with all books being able to be enjoyed in any order or as standalones.
I always enjoy when a story brings us right into the action first thing like this one did with Jane and Andrew's rather unusual meet cute--with their rental being double booked by mistake, and then finding themselves snowed in together, total strangers! But it didn't take long for the two to connect. When they return to their real life and find that their paths once again cross, you can't help but wonder if fate played a role in this little mix up. This was such a sweet romance with great chemistry between the two. It was definitely very fast paced, perhaps a bit of insta-love, which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it worked very well for these two and this story. If you're looking for a cozy holiday read with all the Hallmark vibes, this is one to check out. It was the perfect way to finish off this sweet Christmas series!
A Holly Jolly Mix Up is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
Synopsis: A snowstorm and an accidental double booking leads Andrew to meet Jane. Every day they’re stuck together, they grow more fond of each other.
Review: Honestly once they said they accidentally double booked the same place, I couldn’t help but think of the Barbarian movie and made me laugh way more than I needed to. Them meeting for the first time was super hilarious and the banter was super cute. It had all the Christmas vibes and felt very much like a hallmark movie. I was kinda zoned out listening to this audiobook so that’s completely on me lol
A painful meet-cute...or is it a meet-hate? A mischievous and cheeky, but very cute dog and a Christmas romance worthy of Hallmark. Jane and Andrew find the last thing they expected when they both escape reality for the weekend, they find their soul mate and whilst it may be a bumpy start they make a really sweet couple. I enjoyed joining them in this journey to find the magic of Christmas and the promise of forever. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
Well, Bella, you have definitely made me fall in love with Andrew and Jane. This story touches my heart in every way, and I wish I had more. This was definitely the best story to finish this Christmas series. I am going to miss it. Love everything about their story, from how they meet, to when they found each other again. This was definitely the best ending to the series.
Well this is so darn cute and snow on their boots good. Well it’s by Bella Greene so it was no brainer, can’t explain it any plainer. It starts off with getting a pepper spray in the face. Then she’s moving in and he’s cooking peppers for dinner. Winner , winner. It’s a real treat he’s planning on cooking but she’s best tackle the onion , he’s cried enough and he’s eyes feel rough… “Need some help?” “You could take over this onion before I go completely blind,” he jokes “I wouldn’t have taken you to be the dramatic type,” she teases back with a smile. “What are we making?” His speciality chicken stir fry is what’s on the table. Weekend getaway in Spring Valley seemed a pleasant retreat idea , a bit of alone time. What about poor Jane though, this detective Andrew is cute and all but she was meant to be a Mrs by now but that’s a different story. She is a journalist, a detective’s antithesis , although the cop seems safe ,she doesn’t give him her full monicker just in case. It’s been quite eventful , a very long day ,hopefthe next day they can sort the double book hiccup out. Angus the puppy makes amends to and now Andrew finds the two cuddle by the fire . Good job they’re on friendly terms because it looks like they’re staying put. The snow is relentless no signs of slowytheyre going nowhere soon. Some honeymoon…she pulls out some cards to play a game , not the playing card type that’d be lame. This one has questions a sort of get to know you thing. Ooh this could be very interesting developments happening here. As I’m reading I give a big cheer and a whoop . I for one am so happy they’re cooped up together in the foulest weather a couple and a mutt all shut in. Good job she brought groceries and he his. They can eat and drink to their heart’s content . It’s not like they’re roughing it , they’re in a cabin a two bedroom affair not a tent in the middle of nowhere. Now what those q and As don’t reveal is that they’re heading in the same direction after the time away. She’s opening a bookstore in her hometown , his town. What ensues is a lot of circumstances to get them together , aren’t friends and family awesome ? With a few sparks and the magic of the season I can’t see them coming out of it single so they may as well mingle and keep that tingle and sparks alive. She was cooped in a cabin with him and they survived ..wonderful, LOVE IT , LOVE THEM, such a cute couple . They fell and found each other again what are the odds of that occurrence ? Thank the heavens and the angels too for the interventions for these two. Superb writing, so inviting and fresh. I was so engrossed in their story . It was soo the end of the book . I read too fast. But guess what? I’ll read again and again because I had a blast. Isn’t that the great thing about books and reading. You can do it all again and know what they’re feeling as you turn the page but you still read anyway because the skill of the author has you engaged . Bravo Bella Greene . Awesome storytelling prowess.
The final book in the Sweet Christmas Series has been read! I adored every book in this series. Beginning this series back in November, Christmas seemed so far away, but now with only two weeks left before the holiday, each author in this series helped get me in the holiday mood and ready for the season. Holly ended this series with a great book that truly incorporates the magic of Christmas. Hallmark Movie vibes for sure, an overall wonderful read.
Jane and Andrew are both needing time away for their own reasons. Needing to escape “real” life, they each book a place to stay for the weekend. They are excited to visit and stay at the quaint, idyllic home they reserved. When they arrive to find each other at their booked home, disaster strikes with the owner double booking them. Even worse, a snow storm has knocked out cell service and the roads are not safe to drive. It’s going to be a little bit before they can clear this up with the owner.
But they decided to make the best of a bad situation and share the house, glowing in Christmas cheer. And as luck, fate, Christmas magic would have it, a love story begins to blossom between the two of them. Their story continues after their great weekend together and with the help of a well intended, meddling family these two are able to truly explore their feelings for each other. Both Jane and Andrew are great characters that each bring something wonderful to their dynamic. Jane is headstrong and is chasing after the life she dreams about. Not letting anyone stand in her way or tell her she won’t ever find it. Andrew feels things deeply and is trying to escape crushing feelings from an old case. They find comfort in one another, in the place they least expect.
Bella wrote a sweet, wonderful story that truly screams Christmas magic.
As always, review any author notes before reading.
I received an ARC from the author in return for an early review.
This was a wonderful story and a fitting closing to a series I have loved! Each of these 12 stories can be enjoyed year round no matter what time you choose to read them. They are set during the Christmas season but their message of love, hope, trust, new beginnings and in some cases having an opportunity to have a second chance with the love of one’s life make these stories enjoyable year round!
Jane and Andrew meet quite by accident as they both rent the same cottage for the same weekend! To make matters worse, there’s a blizzard outside with no cell coverage and the roads are closed. So they have to make the best of it by sharing the cabin.
Turns out they like each other but Jane is just coming off a wedding she has called off and doesn’t want to get involved with a stranger. When cell coverage is restored 4 days later she gets a call from her mother which changes her plans entirely but she decides not to wake Andrew and tell him since it’s the middle of the night so she just leaves.
Andrew is surprised to find Jane gone with no note or word and leaves to return home himself when his time is up. He is shocked to find out that the bookstore he frequents is now owned by none other than his roommate of 4 days-Jane! She now explains why she left and he tells her this is the town he has been living in for the past few years while she’s been gone. They rekindle the friendship they’d formed while sharing the cabin during the blizzard earlier
I enjoyed this romantic comedy of two people who had an attraction to each other but one pulled away because she wasn’t ready to jump into another relationship so soon after calling off her marriage to another guy before she met Andrew!
I know you’ll enjoy this story so I enthusiastically recommend it to you as one to read and to share with your family and friends!
It’s full of all the joys and feelings one has at Christmas! If you feel you’ve lost that Christmas spirit then by all means get and read this book! In fact, why not get the entire 12 book series and enjoy them all as often as you want! That’s what I’m going to do!!
I guarantee you’ll love each and every one of the books in this series!
A Holly Jolly Mix Up is the second book I have read written by Bella Greene and it was great. It was just a light fun easy Christmas read, but it was enjoyable. Brew some coffee or tea and snuggle up on the couch for the perfect Christmas read to get you in the holiday spirit. It is part of a 12-part stand-alone Sweet Christmas Kisses series and it really is the perfect series to put you in the Christmas mood.
The character development is good. There wasn’t anything to deep, but it was fun watching Jane and Andrew get to know each other.
The storyline and setting were cute. A mix up on the reservation where Jane and Andrew find themselves snowed sharing the same house rental for the weekend. Jane runs off in a Cinderella like fashion, leaving behind some crumbled notes in the trash, and Andrew has no way to find her. When low and behold they accidentally run into each other when they both return home. Jane as she buys the bookstore and Andrew trying to solve the string of crimes.
The blossoming romance between Andrew and Jane is cute. A whirlwind of a romance as they fall hard for each other from the first meeting. I loved that it was a closed door, kisses only romance with low spice.
This is not a Christian book, so there is no faith element. Though it is super clean. I feel ok recommending this to my fellow Christian readers if you are looking for a clean Christmas romance heavy on the hallmark.
*I received a complimentary copy from the author and voluntarily chose to review it. All opinions are my own.

A Holly Jolly Mix Up is the perfect final release of the Sweet Christmas Kisses series! ❤️ I fell in love with Bella’s writing style as soon as my eyes landed on the first page! This is such a fun, witty, Magic’s holiday romance read, and while it’s a short story, it doesn’t skimp out on all the details that make a story great! 😊
Jane has just ended her engagement to a man that she wasn’t in love with, and doesn’t have much work going on as a journalist, so she is embarking on a small vacation getaway at a cabin. What she doesn’t know is that the owner had a little mix up, and due to a snowstorm she’ll have to share the cabin with a charming detective named Andrew, and his adorable puppy! 😍
The way that the two meet is such a funny, and interest grabbing moment! If you love a good Hallmark vibe, feel good romcom, then you will love this story too! 🥰
The story also features more than just romance! It includes a little mystery vibe as Andrew works to uncover mysterious break ins in the town. It’s also a dual pov which just adds so much more depth and insight to the story! I definitely will be reading more from this author! The way that everything was set out and written, from the side characters, especially the grandmas that speak their minds, was just so fun and put me right into the holiday spirit! You get to see some great character development, and a great romance play out just like a movie! Don’t miss out on this one this holiday season! ❤️🎄❄️☃️📚
Thank you to the author for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions are my own and truthful.
Jane is supposed to be on her honeymoon; instead, she ran away from her fiance Daniel and booked a rental . Unfortunately, on her arrival, she found it was already inhabited and each of them began to threaten the other if they didn’t go away. Andrew’s Scottish terrier, Angus, chose that initial moment of meeting each other to dash out at the “intruder” as Andrew lunched forward to catch him… and she pepper-sprays him thinking he is attacking her. But still being stubborn about leaving, verifying the rental had been double-booked, and the snow storm getting worse, and no cell service to call the owner and fix this, the two decide to share the place since they had no other alternative. And the handsome detective was definitely nice to look at. Surprisingly, the two strangers got along well, engaging in fun banter and enjoying each other’s company. Will they make the most of their time together and perhaps fall in love? Or is this just a short vacation together that they will both move on from when it ends? Then again, Fate may play a part in this adventure when her mom calls her at 4 a.m. to come home immediately; she is being given a chance to buy the old bookstore she wanted to own one day, and it’s just gone up for sale. And when Andrew stops in town and visits old friends, he will find a very familiar face in the old Timeless Tales bookstore he visits. Will they want to give their relationship this second chance?
- Christmas romance - Runaway bride - Only one cabin - Snowed in - Close proximity - Meet cute - Small town serendipity
Oh, such a cute story! It has all of the crossed signal vibes you could want in a holiday romance.
By a scheduling mix up, both Andrew and Jane are booked in the same cabin. In the woods. During a blizzard. For a long weekend. Since they can't get in touch with the cabin owner and the roads are getting bad, they decide to make the most of their situation.
Andrew would be content to just be quiet and by himself, but journalist Jane draws him out of his shell. They both feel quite an attraction, but because it is just a weekend getaway and Jane is supposed to be on her honeymoon, they keep things light.
When Jane abruptly has to return home, she is undecided about leaving a note, but ultimately after many failed attempts to capture her thoughts, she just drives off. She is returning to her hometown to live out her dream of owning a bookstore.
In a twist of serendipity, Jane's hometown is the town Andrew lives in! Will they feel the same connection that they did in the cabin?
This is a sweet romance, light and uplifting. It's the perfect holiday read!.

Great reading for Christmas. The H and h meet when they are double booked for a weekend in a cabin. They get snowed in because of a blizzard and are unable to leave. With lack of cell service they can’t reach anyone to see if there is another place available. The h fearful when finding the cabin maces the H who happens to be a police officer on a mini vacation. The h is a reporter. They discover that they have no option but to spend the time together until the blizzard is over and they can get the mix up straightened out. As they spend their time together they discover that they have things in common and that they enjoy each other’s company. When the blizzard is over and cell service is restored they do confirm that the cabin was indeed double booked but before it is corrected the h suddenly leaves without saying goodbye. The H is greatly disappointed because he had grown to care for the h. She left because the great opportunity of her life became available for her. She could buy the bookstore she always dreamed of. Time passes and one day the H decides to go into his favorite bookstore to talk to his friend the owner who always recommends good books she knew he would like. He doesn’t find his usual friend but hears instead the voice of his missing friend from the cabin. They happily reunite and he learns the truth of her departure. They have both missed each other and thus their relationship is on track and develops. They happily share the events of the Christmas season and they find their HEA. May you enjoy this book as much as I did.
I was drawn into this wonderful story right from the beginning and I just couldn’t put it down. A Holly Jolly Mix-Up is a story that you can imagine happening in real life, it is relatable in so many ways. Our story begins near Oakridge Hollow, which is Jan’s hometown. Andrew and Jan meet in a most unusual way. Andrew (who is in law enforcement) has rented a place and he hears someone coming in. He gets up to investigate. It seems as if the person breaking in (Jane) has also rented the place. They both attempt to call and get the situation cleared up, but there is no cell service. They agree to stay together, due to the weather mostly, and because there are two bedrooms. After a few days, Jane’s mom is finally able to get in touch with her. She needs her to come home. It seems as if the bookstore, Timeless Tales, that Jane has always wanted is being sold and the owner would love for Jane to purchase it. There’s also a mystery person or group damaging property in town and this is interesting to Andrew. Will Jane and Andrew be able to become friends? Will Jane be able to purchase Timeless Tales and make it a success? Will Andrew be able to solve the mystery of the damaged property? Don’t miss this engaging story that you won’t be able to put down. The books in this series are all engaging and wonderful stories.
Jane is a journalist and Andrew is a super hot detective, in good shape and has dimples when he smiles (that is the way Jane describes him). But she was less then thrilled to find they were stuck in the same house rental for the weekend. Due to booking problems and a snow storm that is the situation that her and Andrew find themselves stuck in. And now the snow is so bad they will be snowed in for days. Finally they decide to call a truce and get along. They ended up getting along better then either of them would have guessed and saw a whole new side to each other. They were getting along very well and becoming friends, Who knows where a snowed in weekend might end.
The second night they are there the cell phone service is restored in the middle of the night and Jane gets an emergency phone call from her mother about 4 am. So she rushes around gathering her things and leaves. Without leaving a note for Andrew or anything. So when he wakes up and realizes she is gone he is upset. He looks everywhere but can not find anything about where she might have gone. They did not exchange information so will he ever see her again? Why did she leave so suddenly? Is everything okay or did he say or do something to upset Jane?
This is the part where you need to read this super cute book to find all of the answers and more. Hope you enjoy reading it, I sure did.
This book is part of the Sweet Christmas Kisses series that are comprised of 12 books. Each book is a standalone with a HEA.
This story was so sweet. I love that it was a Detective and a Journalist who by all accounts lots of times, are on opposite sides in real life. The way they met was super cute and it’s not everyday that a love story starts by being pepper sprayed!
Jane’s family was a wonderful addition, and I loved Nonna! It was a little sad that Andrew didn’t have any family that could have been brought in but her family became his family. The fact that dad liked Christmas more than mom and was in a life or death decorating contest with the neighbor was hilarious!
I was a little surprised that the burglers weren’t identified - at least as someone in the town, the ex-fiance, misbehaving kids, or something. I did like the solution after the break in. Very Christmas spirit.
I think everyone will enjoy this book as it is an easy read, full of Christmas cheer, a great family, and wonderful Christmas traditions!
“A Holly Jolly Mix Up” makes for really casual, comfortable reading. In the book, a reservation mix up means strangers Andrew and Jane are stuck for a few days in a vacation cabin, while snow rages outside. It was really cute.
I liked that it was a clean, forced-proximity story. I often steer clear of books that have that trope, because they tend to degenerate into excuses for the main characters to get intimate, but this story had none of that. Just clean humour, and the development of a love story. At its heart its a cute narration of two people meeting and falling in love.
I thought it could’ve used a little more action, though. There’s a mystery element that’s not very developed, which could’ve added a touch of suspense, amped up the stakes a little and balanced out the really mild tone. A couple of slight scares to raise the question of “will they or won’t they end up together” would’ve been nice.
Overall, it was a clean, really cute story, reminiscent of most Christmas movies.
I received the ARC via Ms Greene and Bookfunnel, and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Jane thinks she has booked a quiet cottage for the weekend after canceling her engagement. However, there's a man and dog who greet her after she enters the house and finds her bedroom. So she does what any woman would do when confronted with a similar situation. She pepper sprays the man! Then she finds out there's been a booking error, and they have both been booked in the same cottage. So they decide to make the most of the situation. After all, Andrew can't be all that bad since he's a detective and likes dogs. They have a wonderful time playing games, cooking, and taking Angus for walks until she gets the phone call from her mom telling her that Regina is selling the book store Jane has loved her whole life. So what is Jane to do? She tries to write Andrew a note but fails to find the right words. For a journalist, she can't figure out how to tell him she has to leave so early on their last day. Will they ever see each other again? Only one way to find out is to read this great story by Bella Greene! You won't be disappointed 👍
This is the 12th and final book in the Sweet Christmas Kisses series. All twelve books can be read as standalone stories. The author Bella Greene wraps up the series with the story of Jane and Andrew and their forced proximity meeting.
Jane is a journalist who was supposed to get married, but circumstances change, and she goes solo on her honeymoon. It also turns out that Andrew, a detective trying to get a distraction from a previous cases anniversary date, was also booked for the same cabin.
As the story unfolds, we learn of Jane and Andrews' growing fondness of each other and how Fate can sometimes change life when you least expect it.
I definitely recommend this book and actually wish it was longer. The author does an excellent job with ending this Sweet Christmas Kisses series with a HEA. Run, dont walk to get this book. You won't regret it.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love all things Bella Greene and this does not disappoint, this is part of The Sweet Christmas Kisses series. Jane and Andrew rent the same cabin for a long weekend unbeknownst to the other. Their is a blizzard outside, so neither can really leave; and their is no cell service. They get along well and make the best of it. Jane had walked away from her wedding, and doesn't want to get involved with anyone. Once their is cell service, Jane gets a call from her mother at four in the morning. It's important she leave right away. She leaves without leaving Andrew a note. When Andrew realizes she is gone without leaving a note; it really upsets him. He has no way to reach out to her. Will he ever see her again? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense and interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Bella Greene!!!
If you want a clean and cozy holiday read, you have found the perfect one. There is definitely a mix-up as both Jane and Andrew have been booked at the same cabin. This is bad enough as you have two perfect strangers in the same house, but now they are snowed in together. This could give you those psycho music vibes, but alas they are both safe. Andrew is a detective and Jane is a journalist. Talk about two extremely opposing careers.
This sweet story shows that though mistakes happen, sometimes you look back and realize that it was not a mistake at all but fate was at work. If you enjoy clean holiday romances, you will enjoy this one. It is not a long book either, so you can fly through the pages during this busy holiday season.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is my first time reading this author. This book is the last book in the Sweet Christmas Kisses series. I really enjoyed the series. They are all stand alone books by different authors. If you enjoy Hallmark movies, you’ll enjoy the series. Andrew is in a rented cabin for some much needed vacation time, when he hears the door opening. His dog goes running for the woman and as he tries to stop the dog, the woman pepper sprays him. As a cop, he’s had pepper spray in the face before for training so he knows what to do, but this is how Andrew and Jane meet. It turns out the cabin was double booked. But, there’s a snowstorm so no cell signal to contact the owner. This meet cute story will have you turning the pages through all the twists and turns of the storyline. Will Andrew and Jane hit it off? You’ll have to read to find out!
This is the last of the twelve books in the talented multi-author Sweet Christmas Kisses series and ends the series with a sweet stranded together with a stranger when reservations get mixed up causing police detective Andrew Harrington and his little sidekick Angus to spend an unforgettable weekend vacation with journalist Jane “Pearson” Brooks. After the initial shock involving some painful eyes, the three become comfortable with each other and soon become close friends but unfortunately there time together will be short….but then again when love is in the air, one never knows what might happen. This definitely put me in the mind of an easy going Hallmark movie taking place in a small hometown with a Christmas tree lighting, cookie baking and lots of cups of cocoa where all dreams come true. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
