Drowning
Emerson has been through more trauma in her young life than anyone should ever have to. There was a lot of plot holes in my opinion. I felt like I was reading something off wattpad. Although this was probably other people’s cup of tea it wasn’t mine.
Sadly I do not have the ability to DNF, & I wish I did. But that means I finished this book in a day. I feel one of the issues I had, was this is labeled at dark romance. It should be labeled as erotica. There wasn’t a lot of darkness to it, some darkness tones? Yes. But not everything to the point it should have been labeled as dark romance. This is Erotica. 😂
The character development throughout the whole book needed some work. I’ll leave it at that.
One of the MMC’s called the FMC “little one” every time he spoke. This man was 42 & he was just constantly angry lol.
My BIGGEST issue, & this is huge TO ME, was the fact there was so so many helmet inaccuracies. As someone that wears a helmet everyday I can 100% promise you a lot of these helmet scenes literally are not possible. It’s creating false fantasies to these girls that are obsessed with bikers tbh.
I am reading romance, NOT fantasy. There is a reason I do not read fantasy, & if I have to “have imagination” I automatically am going to assume that the person has never wore a helmet & doesn’t understand how they work.
I am ALL FOR SPICE!! I want to make that extremely known, I love spice as much as the next person. Fucking on every page? Cool! But there has got to be a good plot to the story as well and I feel like this book was lacking in that.
There was never any actual “help” or anything of the sort for the FMC, all these men would just say “I’m here for you” I feel like that could have been handled better in my opinion as well.
There were just so many cringy scenes. I’m not going to Yuck someone’s yum, it just wasn’t for me
I had HIGH expectations for this book because all the teasers that were released sounds exactly up my alley, but I had to stop so many times and say the scene out loud to my husband and be like does this sound possible to you? And he literally laughed and was like no. We both said so many times “nah dude, that ain’t it😂”
BUT THIS IS ALL MY OPINION SO DO NOT COME FOR MY THROAT.
If you want a book that’s completely sex & smut, hardly no plot. Then this book is for you!!!! 👏🏻

K.M. Rogness is one of my favorites.This is the third book I've read by her, and she never disappoints. I love her writing style and how relatable her characters are. I loved the female character Emerson, I think she was amazing! I felt really attached and connected to Kane and Seven. They both had my heart since the beginning. If you are looking for a hot spicy book to read for the summer, I highly recommend you read drowning!

I really loved the story.
I liked emmerson a lot! She's a badass and really picked herself up after what she had been through.
My favourite mmc was definitely kane. Only thing I didn't like the daddy nickname but that just a me thing 😅

If you can’t tell by the lengthy list of trigger warnings, this book was an EXPERIENCE.😅
It is definitely the spiciest book I have read since getting into the dark romance genre and it is SPICY!🥵
I do feel like the plot suffers a little from the amount of spice in the beginning of the book, but the real action and drama that comes towards the end of the story made up for the shaky start, at least in my opinion.🥀
It is definitely not going to be a book for everyone, CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS! And then check them again for this one.☠️
Overall, I enjoyed the story and the spice. It was not as dark as I thought it was going to be, but I’m excited to read more of Rogness’ work. Breaking Boston is already on my kindle and I love some unhinged reading.🖤

This was my first book by KM Rogness and let me just star by saying holy hełł 🥵
I’m a whøre for a good why choose and the fact this one was so spicy and mouth watering was the cherry on top!
Emerson had to deal with some rough things in Iife: parents dying, her (now) ex boyfriend being a piece of sh!t, and a stalker. Despite all of life’s efforts to try and take her out of this world, Emerson found herself the jackpot of men — Forbidden? Yes. “Not considered safe” absolutely.
These four men not only protect what’s theirs (HOTNESS) but they each bring something extra to Emerson that not only helps her survive, but helps her heal🖤
Spice? 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
Plot? Ugh the character development between eachother, and each individual is done SO well!

It started off good, then I’m not sure if it was me who started losing the plot but I found myself jumping from 51% back to 40 something% thinking I’d misread names or didn’t understand the conversation the FMC had with one of the MCs. Then there were parts again that didn’t fit with the storyline, and I had to re-read, again it could be my misinterpretation.
The book overall is as someone else pointed out very much smut throughout, not a problem for me, though I did struggle with using it as a coping mechanism, that’s definitely a me thing. The guys seemed ok but I didn’t get all the feels. I’m going to say this one wasn’t for me but I did finish it.

It was def fun and pretty fast paced. And the guys?! Whew 😮💨

This was my first book by this arthur and won't be my last. I loved all these characters and this story literally sucked me in from the start and I'd been trying hard not to read the teasers and believe me that was hard to do, because just from the blurb I knew I wanted to read it, and go in blind to experience all the thing's.
I'm so glad I did as the book played out you felt everything that Emerson was going through and she went through some things that were drowning her, but she found out that through the help of Kane, Seven, Stone and Ace that things could be a little better, but then her past wouldn't stay away.
If you like those dark, whychoose, gritty, morally gray book's then you need to check out this book.

⚠️ Warning ⚠️ : This book with alter your brain chemistry in the most delicious way possible! It is mouth dropping, panty melting, and all you could want in a spicy biker boy book! These men have ruined me and I need them to be turned into real life men so I can collect them all!! Though I loved them all, Seven and Daddy Kane are next level!! Older men really do it better! What a ride this book was! The plot was plottin and the spice was seriously spicy! I loved everything about the FMC, Emerson. She was badass, a smokin biker babe with so much trauma to carry. Every part of this book was a page turner. Emerson’s relationship with 4 forbidden bikers, Seven, Ace, Stone and Kane was so beautifully executed. I loved how each of them respected and supported her in their own special way.
This was a perfectly written why choose, dark forbidden romance 🖤 There are some heavy triggers, read through them before diving in!

Super spice heavy which I dont mind at all. However I just dont think it was quite the book for me at the time? May try a reread down the line. But I will say I do love how all MMCs are totally obsessed with Emerson and how she still managed to push through despite going through alot all at once.

This is like reading a Wattpad
It’s so disjointed and it fumbles over itself I made it 15% of the way in and I was getting so annoyed and also confused and frustrated.
Abused and all of the other characters no she is and just keep kissing the top of her head or her lips and telling her that there’s there for her
Excuse me what
And she’s not telling them that she’s getting abused because why ???
This was just not good

THIS.WAS.SPICYYY! 💦
If you’re a why choose / RH reader- you’ll be clutching your pearls 😏 (if you’ve read this, you get the pun).
Drowning is a taboo dark romance about an FMC that is lost and needs to find her way through grief of recently loosing her parents and attempting to leave her abüsive, stälker boyfriend. She seeks refuge through her MC club companions that started out as found family but quickly blur the lines as something more as passion and tensions rise.
This was a quick, fast paced read full of spice, biker energy, east coast beach house summer vibes and morally grey love interest(s). Each MMC brought their own energy, dirty talk and I definitely learned a few new things about popsicles and water play. 👀

This book contains all of the best tropes that I could ask for in a book so I knew going into it I was going to enjoy it. Add in Emerson who has a traumatic past and make her a badass who doesn’t need these men but wants them and they want her. This is one of those stories where you get a ton of spicy content but you also get a strong plot with strong characters that have significant growth throughout the book. You get the banter, the independent FMC, the golden retriever rottweiler MMC’s, the spice, and without saying to much you the most satisfying sense of pride for Emerson, iykyk.

If you're looking for a book that's more smut than plot then look no further I HIGHLY suggest reading this!!. I find nothing wrong with a book that has more smut than plot I actually really enjoy them so this book made my heart and other things very happy.
Only thing I had a difficult time with was there was no backstory or lead up to the guys connections to the FMC things just happened way too quickly. I do like me some tension and build up give me the foreplay before jumping into things 😉
This did not deter me from finishing the book and I still would rate it four stars as I enjoyed the writing and the tropes and hot dang it made me feel things I won't mention LOL
I felt like there was way more storyline for Seven and Daddy Kane with Emerson and I would have loved to see more of Ace and Stone and only because of that I'd say seven and Daddy Kane were my favorite.. fricken love me a strong scary Daddy age gap.

What a roller coaster ride this was!! In the best possible way!!!
I am so thankful I picked this up and got to read it. This book has forbidden love, brothers best friend, motorcycle club, age gap, AND is a why choose... sign me up.
There are many things going on at once in this book but it is written in a way that is easy to follow. I also must stress to please read the trigger warnings it is labeled dark for a reason and it definitely gets dark. I also want to say that everyone deals with trauma differently and this book shows that how one person might heal might not be how another person does.
This book is also smutty, this is not an understatement. The story of Emerson, Seven, Kane, Ace, and Stone is one I won’t forget anytime soon I just wish it was longer to be honest.
The way that each of them brings a new side out of Emerson and also the way they all love her in different ways is beautiful. The different ways they help her through what she needs is incredible. Emerson goes through things no one should ever have to go through but we get to see her survive and how she handles certain things. This is also multi POV so we get to see what the guys are thinking as well.

Why choose a forbidden dark romance ahh duh why not when you know it’s from KM Rogness who is absolutely amazing author in this genre. This book will have every emotion that you can possibly imagine feeling through out this book. I personally could relate to the main character Emerson her pain of losing her parents I connected with. As in all of. KM Rogness book I always can relate to one or more characters. The beautifully crafted talent that this book has is something to appreciate and admire as it takes you into some dark places and yet some sinful naughty ones as well. Please do take all triggers/ tropes in to consideration before reading. This book also has a killer playlist that goes along with the read and just makes it that much more fun to read. 10/10 in all spots I give this book.

I read this as an eARC. I sat for a bit on my review because I wanted to go back and look at some scenes and see if what I felt the first time was what I still felt going back through it.
It felt like there was so much missing. It read like it was a first rough draft that didn't get finished.
The book was about 95 percent spice scenes and 5 percent plot - and there was a lot of the plot missing.
A theme would be brought up, and then it wasn't finished so you were kept wondering what happened? And there seem to be so much missing in some of the interactions between the female main character and the men she was involved with.
There were just a lot of gaps.
The spice? There was a lot. And it was alright. I love a good spicy scene and this felt cold. Sometimes a little cringey or just out there for responses. And I'm not talking about like locations or methods... I'm just talking about the actual way that all of a sudden she would be responding. It just was odd?
There were some interesting spice themes that I had not heard of before and probably the next time I have a popsicle I might grin, lol
but l do think stating the tag of a stalker was overstating for this one

at the start of the book, Emerson’s parents were killed by a drunk driver and she’s in a toxic relationship that soon turns abusive. she finally has enough and leaves, so her brother takes her to their beach house for the summer to help her heal. it’s not just them two at the beach house though, 4 more members of their motorcycle club also join in on their beach house stay🤭
Ace, Stone, Seven, and Kane have been obsessed with Emerson for a long time, but she has been completely off limits. however, this summer, they all decide that they’ve waited long enough.
Ace was definitely my favorite guy🫶🏼 Stone and Seven are a close second! I really enjoyed how we get the backstory of Ace, so I felt a lot more connected to him!

3.5 🌟 This book has definitely been 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ so much action in different ways. Some scenes were so 🥵. One of the spiciest I’ve read. I felt at times there was not much build up just ACTION. The forbidden sister/daughter you’re not supposed to touch! The twists and turns! Definitely some triggers for some. Towards the end there is some cum play I definitely was gagging to lmao!! I am big on textures and the thought of some of this play had me almost tossing my cookies. I felt the writing at times was not as smooth as others I have read but overall i did enjoy the book. I enjoyed Daddy Kane and Seven. "Ride me, baby. Take my cock and come all over it. I want to see it shine under the stars when I slide out of your pussy” so many hot scenes like this! She did not disappoint on the heat factor! Thanks for allowing me to do ARC read.
