Unholy Obsessions was disturbingly beautiful!
It was a fast paced novella full of darkness, sexiness and so much... blood!
Selene and Onyx were cut from the same cloth and even though they were lacking on emotions, they were very compatible together!
"Call it fate, call it destiny; we were meant to be together."
They met when they were kids in foster system...
She was the daughter of a serial killer whose sentence made an impact to her...
He was a lost kid with same tendencies as her...
Together, they created their own playground where they were letting their psychopathic sides to come out and play...
Together... they were everything!
"It’s what we do best together. We create a mess, all while creating a fucking masterpiece."
This story wasn't for the faint of heart.
It might be a small reading, but it was very wild and full of darkness!
Selene and Onyx were hot together, but they were unhinged... but for a reason that I don't want to fully acknowledge, I liked them! Lol
The only sure thing is that if you have triggers you have to check them out before you enter!
If you are good, just buckle up and enjoy this twisted ride!

Selene Hayes knew from a young age she was created differently, and finding a way to carry out her legacy and revenge is her motivator. Onyx Davers found a kindred soul in Selene, and together, they hunt the monsters.
Narrated in dual POV, Selene and Onyx share a dark bond and their pasts serve to underscore their obsessions. The fact they are quite unhinged leads the reader down a rabbit hole where they seem to thrive. With an interesting plot point that emerges, I was hoping for a little more development considering the buildup. That said, the atmosphere definitely lured me into the story.

What a wild ride this little novella was! I devoured this book and loved every depraved second of it. This is definitely a must read for all the dark romance lovers out there.

This novella is what I would recommend to people wanting to get into dark romance. Both Selene and Onyx are a little crazy, a little unhinged, and a little murderous. Selene’s father was a serial deleter and taught her the ropes but after he got caught Selene struggled. This mixed with Onyx and his antics make for a fun time when someone’s starts stalking them. Unholy Obsessions is a quick read with a lot of interesting and spicy things happening so if you’re just starting in dark romance or you’re new and want to know where to start I would recommend this novella as a good start.

I loved this. This short novella had character development, an actual plot, back stories for both MCs. I was very pleased with this read.
It’s so fucked and I was routing for the MCs. I know! I KNOW! They are serial killers. I mean, IRL I do not condone at all. IBL (in book life) though? I wanted to read some fucked up shit and I got it. Tbh it’s not the most fucked up thing I’ve read. It’s really just the nature of the read that makes it so.
Selene and Onyx are written so well. The fact that the author was able to create these characters from scratch, background story and all, in this short read is a gift. Let’s be so for real, not every author can write good well rounded short reads. I’m just saying!
The erotica was hot af. This is the main purpose of the short read. It was the focus point. But then we go into the plot.
The plot is short, sweet, to the point. Done very well. I might have a new author on my TBR on my hands 🤔

I absolutely love when two psychopaths match each other’s crazy and have a deeply passionate love. I ate this book up!
Be sure to check CW/TW. This is a dark romance with unaliving. There is a lot of smut and a bit of a plot.
I loved the fact that Onyx and Selene are already together and deeply obsessed. They are solid. Sure, there are major red flags but that’s just who they are. They show their devotion to one another in unique ways. There is an external factor creating drama and tension. Which made for an interesting plot; it had me on the edge of my seat.
I’m not sure what else to say because I don’t want to give anything away. But if you like a dark and twisted couple that embraces the monster within themselves, you should read this novella.

i'm conflicted. every time selene and onyx spoke i was rollingggg my eyes!! they're constantly bringing up how "perfect" they are for each other because they're SO "fucked up" and have severe god-complex personalities. like i get it!!! but i don't need to be reminded every single chapter!! it honestly felt like the plot was more focused on showing how messed up the characters were rather than the actual serial killing which just got repetitive.
also, HELP. please tell me WHY there was more smut than murder 😭😭☠️

This is one of those that you read and immediately think “what did I just read?” And “why did I enjoy it so much???” She’s dark, she’s twisty, she’s spicy, and I love her. Two killers in one twisted romance?? Sign me up girl. Onyx and Selene are two soul mates I can get behind. It’s a modern day Bonnie and Clyde vibe?? Needless to say I’m obsessed and I want another.

This was my first C.M. Radcliff book, and I’m obsessed. I’ve read her books under her other pen name and loved those as well, but there’s something about the dark romance vibes that just gets me every time. If you’re looking for a quick, stabby read for the upcoming spooky season, this is it!

Selene and Onyx are both serial unalivers who happen to be involved with one another. They’re morally gray characters, taking out people who have done some sick and twisted things. Selene learned from her father, who was also a serial unaliver, but he got caught and sent to prison thanks to her brother. She never forgave him and even tried to unalive him, which got her put into the foster system. That’s when she met Onyx, and they formed an unbreakable bond. Between what her brother did, what happened to her in high school, and all the creeps along the way, Selene is out for revenge, and Onyx is right there by her side, slashing all the way.
This book is dark, depraved, and full of spice and stabby vibes. When I say a lot of spice, I mean A LOT of spice—and sometimes the spicy moments happen with their victims in the room. If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would! Oh, and they occasionally wear masks…swoon.

I loved the dynamics of these two, they worked so well together. For me it wasn’t dark, dark, there was some deleting and spice mixed with bl00d 😁🩸Their fighting for whom would be the dominant one was at times scoff worthy.
Overall I enjoyed this quick novella.

This was a wild ride! It was absolutely unhinged and I loved it!
Selene and Onyx are troubled and circumstances in their lives brought them together. They like to play this “game” together that has some unfortunate prizes for the unwilling participants.
This is a novella so it is fast paced but not excessively so. Being a novella I also read this in one sitting. Partially because it’s shorter than a regular book and also because I couldn’t put it down!
The opening chapter was psychotic and pulled me right in! I found myself holding my breath along with Selene and Onyx. This book took over while I was reading.
It is dark and it is spicy! Please read trigger warnings before proceeding!

Selene and Onyx were unhinged, together and apart. But their crazy matched each other. Honestly, they were perfect for each other, even though they were both “sick” in the head.

The Prologue was unnecessarily weird. She wanting to kill animals just to explain how mentally deranged she was? It was unnecessary given they explained she was a victim of sexual abuse, that in itself would have been enough explanation for her madness. But killing kittens? Why?
She was also a kid when she was sexually attacked and yet somehow managed to overpower a grown man and kill him? Seemed ridiculous to me.
First four chapters were basically explaining the same thing, the chase but with two POV. It could have been used to set the scene a bit better and only had one POV each from Onyx and Selene.
Multiple times explaining how 'fucked up' they were. We get it. But to keep saying it over and over again in different ways, was just pointless for a short novel. It was a waste that could have been replaced with setting the scene, backstory or character development. Multiple uses of 'control' and 'apex predators', 'twin flames'
And mention of having a 'serial killer gene' ????? Wtf. I face palmed at this. What on earth? This could have been explained as a hereditary sickness of the mind or a shared madness in their blood. But a 'serial killer gene?' SMH. It feels like this was written by a teen with no life experience and someone who hasn't really seen or experienced mental health or madness.... it was a very naive comment.
As was other poorly written bits like "he passed away and left me an entire fortune. I'm talking about amounts of money that you couldn't even fathom" or "he's damned good at what he does, like black market money level good" - mentioning they lived on the street and yet conveniently Onyx had the ability and knowhow from school to be an expert hacker and in coding.
It also seems everyone else in this story are rapists? Like the guy with Selene as a child. 4 guys with selene as a teen ans then their next target Maxwell also a rapist. There are non rapist people too!
During sexual play in an attempt to show how 'fucked up' they were the writer talks about how Onyx puts a knife inside her but careful enough to not cut her. How thin was this knife? Considering many times prior it explained how petite and small Selene was. And yet a page later it states that he uses the handle of the knife to pleasure her, so clearly a thin small blade with a large pleasurable handle ?? What ??? - Once again this demonstrated how little thought went into the writing. It's like the writer wanted to attempt to be dark and sinister but instead wrote like a teenager with a naive view of the world with little experience of it.
The tracker that found them was likely black market?? So everyone else in this book are rapists with access to the black market? Ugh...
And suddenly Abel is a master tracker, serial killer with access to black market trackers? The same kid who didn't want to be like his sister and father. This man able to stalk, corner, track and scare two master serial killers that are SO 'FUCKED UP' ?! - Are you kidding me ? LAZY writing!!
Honestly, I loved the concept but the poor execution and writing let it down. I'm sorry to the writer, but I have to be honest and it was a tough read to finish even though it really wasn't that long. I really wanted to put it down numerous times.

Since we’re close to spooky season this novella is the perfect thing to get you ready for Halloween!
Selena and Onyx are both completely twisted and sick. They were both from the foster system and have known each other since they were kids. They both suffer from the same darkness and they go together like peanut butter and jelly. No opposites attract in this book. These two are completely similar.
This novella is short but spicy. It’s completely dark and twisted. With a side of unhinged. If you’re looking for all the spooky vibes this if the novella for you.

Though Unholy Obsessions was a novella, it felt like the story was fleshed out. Not going to lie, though, I would’ve been thrilled if this was a full length novel. Regardless, I loved the book and plan on doing a re-read during spooky October.

This was a dark, spicy, quick read!
Onyx and Selene were made for each other.
They are both psych0paths that meet each other at a young age by chance and from there they built an obsession towards one another.
Their love story was different in the sense that they both felt they couldn’t love but they both knew that they were it for each other.
The relationship was hot and their games were dark but I ate it up. They were both unhinged but I liked both of them!
The plot was suspenseful and I liked the twist at the end of who was st@lking Selene.
If you like dark romance and all the red flags this is for you!

OMG! This was one hell of a messed-up story! Selene and Onyx are true psychopaths that were made for each other in every sense of the word. They are emotionless except when it comes to each other. And they would do anything to protect the other from outside harm.
“I wouldn’t just follow him into the depths of hell. I would burn for an eternity in purgatory for my broken half.”
The circumstances surrounding both Selene and Onyx’s upbringings was heartbreaking, but because of that heartbreak they were brought together in the foster system. Like calls to like, and they instantly knew that they were meant to be together.
Selene and Onyx are completely and utterly unhinged. And they took me on a bloody, violent and sexy journey into their crazy world.
Their story is filled with shockingly graphic moments, kinky and sinfully delicious moments, and disturbingly sweet moments that kept me on the edge of my seat, and turning the pages quickly to see what hell these two would get up to. And I loved every adrenaline packed and jaw dropping moment of it.

Honestly, this book had a lot potential. The beginning of this book was amazing but as the book proceeded, it lost it's charm for me. It would have been amazing, if we get to properly know how the main characters met and how they bonded.

What happens when that person attempt to make a move on you? What happens when you loose your shit and attacks him? What happens when you leave him bloody but your dad catches you? UMM… Dark, spicy, horror, serial unal!vers, psych0paths, trauma, obsession… mix it all together, throw in some heavy C W, and you get your next dark romance novella just in time for spooky season.
I was so intrigued by this plot and storyline. Onyx and Selene both have some dark trauma and are both psych0paths that find solace in one another. Their twisted love was so beautiful in its own way. They are both 100% morally grey/black characters, but you cant help but empathize with their stories and thats where I think this was done so well. We get pieces of their past and find them in their own version of a ‘safe space’ where the story takes place and it served everything it needed to.
This had a horror element to it that felt so fleshed out for a 140 page novella. I was hooked and couldnt look away. I also thought the dark elements just matched the characters so well. I dont want to give any of the story away but if you are okay with the content warn!ngs and looking for your next fast paced, spooky season read thenadd this one to your tbr.

This was the perfect novella to get me in the mood for all the spooky, scary things for the month of October! It was a quick and spicy read with suspense that kept me holding my breathe trying to figure out what was going to happen next!
Selene and Onyx both possess something dark within themselves but find comfort in each other. They realize they are one and the same and they feed off of each other’s twisted desires.
This book is perfect if you are looking for a something you can finish in one setting and looking for morally grey characters! Definitely check your TW with this one! I will definitely be reading C.M. Radcliff again when I’m in the mood for a dark romance! 🖤

From the time she was a little girl she knew that there was something different about her. Selene Hayes can't sleep and loves to plunder around in the dark and find things to hurt. She is not afraid of the darkness inside her. She embraces it. And everything was going perfectly until her brother destroyed it all. Now she has not had a easy life but with Onyx who is just as fine living in the darkness with her she has found the one her soul wants. This is a novella and it is dark. These two are some of the most twisted characters I have read about in a while. They will have you turning the pages to find out what was going to happen. If your looking for a quick dark read this is the one for you.

I love Cali Melle’s sports romance. Like I’m a sucker for them! I eat them up and enjoy every second. So wasn’t I surprised when I found out she writes darker romance under another pen name! So now I’m obsessed with all of her work! To now go add all her back log to my TBR! This was the perfect start to my fall/halloween reading TBR. I mean what’s better than a serial unaliver couple who love each other on top of a pool of blood from people they just unalived?!
