Offside Obsession is part of the Frostwolves Hockey series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, opposites-attract, BWWM, curvy girl gets her hockey player romance. Maddox is a hunky professional hockey player. Jocelyn is a curvy public relations specialist. She used to have her own fitness channel where she danced before she left social media. When Maddox lands himself in hot water after dancing at a Bachelorette party, Jocelyn is brought in to repair his image. But she doesn't expect to be recognized or to learn that Maddox is a fan of her dancing. These two are instantly drawn to each other, but Jocelyn is afraid to get hurt again. But Maddox is all in and not going anywhere. I just loved Maddox, his personality and love for life were infectious, and they way he worshipped Jocelyn was everything. They had insanely hot chemistry, and we got an amazing HEA after a bit of an unintended accident. And the bonus epilogue was hot 🔥 hot 🔥 hot 🔥!! I loved it so much.

A hockey player with heart.
Maddox is a star hockey player for the Frostwolves. He's always gotten a lot of attention, but the video that just went viral is not the kind of publicity he, or the team, needs. Definitely not family friendly. He's suspended for a few games, and he has to work with a PR consultant to fix his reputation. When he sees who it is, he's stunned.
Jocelyn knows a bit about fixing a reputation. She had to fix her own, after all. She's called in to work with Maddox. She thinks it's going to go well, until she realizes he knows who she is and he has every intention of pushing her buttons.
Several years before, Jocelyn had a video channel with her partner at the time. She loved what she did, but her partner used her, and it didn't end well. Between the situation itself and the online comments, the whole experience burned her, and she pretty much quit her online presence. She's only taking this job so she can finally pay her debts and get her passion project off the ground. She is not getting involved with a hockey player. No matter how charming he pretends to be. She's been lied to before.
Except she soon finds out it's not an act. Maddox is great with his young fans - he really connects with the kids. Not to mention the seniors at the retirement home they visit. He seems to be a genuinely good guy, and people just like him. And when he turns that charm on her, Jocelyn finds it harder and harder to resist.
I appreciated that this was a little deeper than I expected. It touched on the subject of mental health, and the isolation a lot of us experienced during the pandemic. During that time is when Jocelyn started her video channel, and she had no idea what effect she had on her viewers, including Maddox.
It just goes to show that we never know how we affect others, for good or not, so let's be a positive influence.
This was an enjoyable read. It flowed well, and was really quite funny. Jocelyn's cousin was perfect, helping her with the job, but making herself scarce when she thought Jocelyn needed to get out of her own way.
I'm looking forward to more of this series.

Maddox was out one night having a bit too much fun and ended up doing something that went viral on the internet. The team has no option but to bench him for a week and bring in a PR consultant to help restore his reputation and make things go away. As the moment involved some dancing, well really stripping for a bachelorette party, Jocelyn decides to lean into the dancing part and sets up a number of community interactions that involve dancing. Maddox recognizes Jocelyn immediately from an online channel that he followed during the pandemic, where she danced with a partner under the name Juicy T. Maddox is head over heels for Jocelyn immediately and is determined to prove to her that he can be serious, but also bring out some fun and enjoyment in her. A week may not be long but for these two it is long enough for them to come together with perfect timing and steps. This book was a fun read and a lovely addition to the series.

He has been benched for a week which means he will miss playing in three games. Maddox is not happy. Management also tells Maddox that he will be spending the week with a PR specialist.

While I don't get into the social media and video posting, I can understand how a viral video could tank the career of a celeb or sports figure. So it makes sense that there are entire careers spent doing nothing but image reshaping. What I loved about this story was the connection that Maddox had to Jocelyn from years earlier during the pandemic when she kept him entertained and not alone in his thoughts during isolation. Dance connected these two and it showed in their actions and on their faces when they moved together. I also loved the connections with the community center, the youth and the seniors and how they helped shape the story too.

I liked this FrostWolves story but I didn't really care for Maddox. Maddox or Mad Dog Maddox has gotten into trouble. At a bachelorette party he dances for the girls and the video went viral. He gets benched for a week and management brings in a consultant who will help clean up his image. Maddox is just too arrogant and full of his own self but he does redeem himself throughout the book. Joycelyn as his consultant is great, loved her character and she gave Maddox a run for his money. I did like the book, I'm enjoying the series and hoping there are more stories.

She thought her reputatuon was hurt when she was humilated on live video. Maddox proved she was worth it. She was there to help his reputation. She did that and in the meantime she saved him and he saved her as well. Perfect match made in heaven.

I really enjoyed this sweet and steamy novella. When Jocelyn, a PR agent hired to manage Maddox. He’s a hockey player who’d had a drunken night after a game that was recorded by many people. Jocelyn steps in to manage the debacle. She realizes he’s not the egocentric athlete she thought he was, she begins to see the real man inside. I recommend that you get the bonus epilogue also!

He meant for it to be harmless fun, only crashing a bachelorette party and losing his pants definitely wasn’t good for his brand when the video went viral. When he’s benched and the team brings in a ‘fixer’ to restore his image things get even hotter. The woman in question is a former influencer he’d all but worshipped during the covid lockdown. Now that she’s a real person his online obsession becomes all too real and he’s got to break all of the rules to win her heart no matter what the consequences.

This was a sweet quick read. It had everything you look for in a hockey romance! Maddox was sweet and did everything to prove he could be trusted by Jocelyn. It was inspirational in how they helped the kids I liked how Jocelyn unknowingly helped Maddox and then again when he made a mistake. She helps redeem his image and during the time fall in love. It was great how she had the courage to repeat history but with a much better result.

God I loved this. It’s a super fast, feel good, instant love, sizzling novella. The characters have great chemistry, the spicy scenes (make sure you check out the bonus scene!) are great, and of course it ends in a satisfying happily ever after. So sweet. Loved the banter from Maddox and Jocelyn as these two just bounce off of each other. Each showing their moves with dance which speaks to them both. Enjoyed how Maddox could be serious when it matters and a fantastic grand gesture.

I enjoyed reading Offside Obsession. I love a good hockey romance and this was great. Maddox is a hockey star that gets into a PR issue. Jocelyn comes in to help clean up the mess. She starts to realize there is a whole different side to him. Very good book!.
