Mmmm. I don't know, bro. Se sintió que todo pasaba muy rápido, y el protagonista masculino es demasiado raro for my taste. Besides, presiento que me va a agarrar second-lead syndrome si sigo leyendo, así que me parece que la voy a cortar acá.

July 15, 2018What a cute beginning!!!! I can't wait to read more. I'm kind of worried tho because this seems to have a love triangle in it. I'm not sure who I like more because both Kiryuu and Kuze are kind and sweet towards Kao. They both seem to care a lot for her. I'm so excited for this!

Cute, but not sure I want to read another series where the immature “Bad Boy” is the one who wins the girl’s affections and the sweet “Nice Guy” who was too shy to express his feelings for her gets the short stick because he didn’t have the confidence to try for her. Pending picking up the second one while I think about it. Still a solid 4 stars.

This is just cute enough to keep reading. Perfectly ordinary by shoujo romance standards (and he's kind of a jerk, but not a creepy one at least), and that's fine.

This was a cute read!
I totally confess I came in with VERY high expectations as this is the only shoujo volleyball manga I know of (that’s readily available unlike Crimson Hero which is OOP), and since I absolutely adore Haikyuu!!, I have been on the lookout for shoujo manga that had volleyball central to the plot.
When it comes to the sports aspect, this is EXACTLY what I have been looking for in a shoujo manga!! The poses were perfection and really loved seeing the sport played from a female’s perspective and how she admired the players. Kao was extremely relatable in how she viewed these players as shining and amazing because it reflects how I personally feel about volleyball players as well.
However, I didn’t love Kao’s character as much as I thought I would. I think she’s a great heroine, but felt I had a shaky start with her when she cried in front of a certain character so early on. That faded away as the story went on because one of the things I DID love about her character (outside of what I mentioned before) is that she wants to find her passion. It made her admirable and really enjoyed seeing her give her all in pursuing what she hopes will have her shining one day too.
The only thing I am super hesitant about continuing this series is the love triangle that I feel is being set up. Even though Kuze gave the vibe of a tease and potentially a playboy in the beginning, I did like him quite a bit and will be cheering for him, BUT! I really really love the other guy too! 😭 This is the kind of love triangle I foresee really doing a number on my heart and making me feel a lot of angst (especially when the two guys are close friends). I might go read some reviews of the next volume (and so forth) to get a good idea of how the story progresses because both these guys deserve happy endings. 🧡
Overall, this was a good read! It’s more dramatic then sports manga, but not necessarily in a bad way. The art was simply stunning, and even if I decide to not continue this series due to nervousness in the love triangle potentially being too much for me, I definitely would love to check out some of this mangaka’s other works!

When are shoujo mangaka going to learn that there is a BIG difference between playful teasing and being a manipulative dick? Then again, DO shoujo mangaka know there's a difference???
The only praise I can give this volume is the art is absolutely stunning and the paneling is really good. That's it. I have no emotional connection with either of the main characters, I think they have zero chemistry, and Kuze is an asshole that pissed me off with his "teasing". Not to mention the fact that this manga suffers from one of my most hated romance tropes, the "guy does something to upset the girl, but he does something nice afterwards and that makes it okay". Romance writers, KNOCK THIS SHIT OFF. It's not cute, it's not romantic, it's manipulative and I hate it.

Boy blows hot and cold - tick!
Unexpectedly had volleyball in it (but not heaps and heaps, unlike ハイキュー!! 1 Haikyū!! 1 lol). Had some really sweet romantic entanglements outside of the main relationship.
Not too bad, but a typical shoujo manga.

Je remercie les Éditions Pika pour l’envoi de cette lecture. Un magnifique coup de cœur pour ce nouveau Shojo que nous propose la maison d’édition.
Kao est une lycéenne qui a toujours eu du mal à s’intégrer. Les gens ne se rappellent jamais de son prénom… Elle n’a aucune passion… Un jour, son frère qui est entraîneur de l’équipe masculine de volley du lycée, la nomme de force manager de l’équipe.
Il acceptera qu’elle quitte son poste à une condition. Qu’elle arrive à faire en sorte que Kuze, as du volley au collège, s’inscrive au club. Le problème, c’est que le jeune homme à l’air de plus vouloir entendre parler du volley…
L’histoire est douce et mignonne comme tout ! J’ai adoré et j’ai passé un excellent moment avec ce premier tome. Premièrement, le personnage de Kao est adorable. Elle est naturelle, ressent des émotions profondes, elle est touchante. Elle a même failli me faire pleurer à un moment !
De l’autre côté, on suit la vie d’un club. Ce côté insouciant et détente que peuvent avoir les lycéens au Japon à ce moment-là. On suit Kao comme manager, à travers ses yeux nous découvrons le club de volley de son lycée. De ce fait, on enchaîne avec quelque scène d’action sportive, qui reste réaliste, mais dynamique.
En bref, c’est un manga qui m’a beaucoup plu. L’histoire est mignonne et prometteuse. Elle ne sort pas spécialement du lot, vis-à-vis de la trame de base, c’est sûr, mais ce que j’apprécie ici, c’est le caractère de Kao, que je trouve original, en tout cas à mes yeux. Un Shojo a surveillé de près !

Ce premier tome s’ouvre sur un début d’histoire très classique sur fond d’amitié et de volley-ball. J’espère que l’intrigue sera plus complexe qu’une simple histoire d’amour /amitié et la psychologie des héros plus fouillée (il y a de quoi faire). Les personnages pour l’instant sont sympathiques à suivre et j’ai bien aimé lire ce manga. Toutefois, j’en attends plus pour les tomes suivants.
Si l’histoire reste simple et plaisante, ce qui m’a pour le moment, le plus emballé est le graphisme que j’aime et qui me parle beaucoup. Dans l’ensemble, c’est un bon début avec un chouette graphisme qui saura ravir les amateur.ices de shôjo sur fond de sport et d’amitié inter-classe.

The art is very pretty. I did enjoy this and have the second out from the library so I will read that and decide if I want to keep going cause right now I am iffy. I like that it is volley ball and not basket ball that she is the manager for but it doesn't feel fresh cause she is like confident but not at the same time. Instead of her brother who is the coach helping her to make sure she understands the full scope of her job, he lets her make silly mistakes. That's odd to me. There is already a love a triangle, dub con kisses, Jerk but kind of kind ML, thus far very kind ML, and very little of her friends.... we will see... I don't like when it seems like he is playing games with the FL, but that is how this character type is.

Maybe I’ve lost the ability to handle generic shoujo, but this gave me a cavity. It was also so bland and uninspired, and the love interest... I couldn’t even tell you his name bc I didn’t care about him. He was meant to come off as sweet in a quirky way but he just annoyed me? How he’s always manipulating her and essentially sexually harassing her constantly was really unattractive... it probably doesn’t help that Haiykuu!! Has ruined any manga with volleyball for me. I mean, I know that this is a romance not a sports manga, but even so, I just didn’t care and it felt like nothing happened for like 150 pages.... yeah definitely not continuing this series.

Cela faisait un moment que je n’avais pas commencé un nouveau shôjo ! Les dernières parutions de chez Pika m’ayant bien plu, je me suis procuré ce premier tome !
Kao est lycéenne en seconde. Son grand frère est entraineur de l’équipe masculine de volley du lycée. Il va la nommer manager de l’équipe en lui donnant un objectif : convaincre Kuze Nagisa de rejoindre l’équipe car il était très doué quand il était au collège.
Kao est motivée pour atteindre son objectif qui lui permettra de quitter ce poste qu’elle n’avait pas demandé mais Kuze est déterminé à refuser et rien ne semble le faire changer d’avis. Va t-elle arriver à trouver les bons mots pour le convaincre ?
Un premier tome prometteur qui place les bases de l’histoire qui se déroulera en huit tomes ! Je lirai avec plaisir le prochain à sa sortie prévue au mois d’avril ! ♥

Kao isn't really good at anything or interested in anything, but her older brother coaches the boys volleyball team. He pressures her into becoming temporary manager ... and seeing if she can convince a talented player into joining the team. Kuze-kun had made up his mind he was through with volleyball, but Kao makes an impression. So he says he'll join the team, on one condition. She must stay on as manager.

i loved every second of these cheesy goodness. i ended up reading this first volume in one sitting and now i have the urge to go out and buy the rest.
i’m not even sure *why* i enjoyed this so much. it was just…cute. and fluffy. the female and male lead are so lovable AND and we got a lil hint of a love triangle brewing. i really just sat there grinning like an idiot for thirty minutes straight

I liked it! I think I fall for guys who play sports like volleyball or basketball. The book felt calm, sweet, and cozy—I don’t know, I just liked it. It was exactly the kind of read I was looking for.
Plus, I really like the male lead, and the second love interest too. I enjoy love triangles, so I hope they handle it well. And honestly, both of them are hot asf.

July 12, 2023Review for the whole series. Decently cute! The love triangle was fine - glad that everyone was super mature about everything. And tbh, I kind of like how Kuze's angst was handled. He was just reserved with his feelings/passions and had a good reason for it. But he never mistreated Kao. The other characters were cute too

Une lecture sympa mais sans plus. Rien de très original, ça me fait même un peu penser à Waiting for Spring. Le love interest est un peu pénible parfois et l’héroïne est super naïve ! Mais globalement ça se lit, c’est agréable et les dessins sont mignons. 👍
