Writing has always been my escape, helping me through life’s challenges, including living with fibromyalgia for over a decade. Despite the daily struggles of my chronic pain getting worse, I continue to pursue my dreams while being a full-time mum to my daughter, Iris—my greatest inspiration.

Before publishing, I sharpened my skills by ghostwriting 16 books in a year for Urban Writers, which gave me the confidence to tell my own stories. My upcoming series, 'Rise and Ruin', delves into Greek mythology retelling with a twist, with the first book, 'Those Who Wait' exploring destiny, power, love, and adventure.

From working security at elite London events to switching to retail during the pandemic, my life has been anything but ordinary. Every experience, challenge, and triumph has shaped my storytelling, proving that no matter what life throws at you, it’s always possible to chase your dreams.

Soul is a beautifully written first installment in The Soulbound Trilogy.
Dee’s life is completely turned upside down she she’s involved in a car crash and finds herself limboing in between worlds. A realm that exposes her life in the most intimate and excruciating way. She is forced to relive memories of the past, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Replaying all of the loss, guilt, betrayal, grief, self doubt, and love. Teetering between life and death, Dee fights to get back to her soulmate, Luke.
This book had me constantly wondering what’s going to happen next. Dee goes through so much trying to find her way back. The ending gave me chills!! I loved the index reference. You could tell a lot of effort and planning went into to writing Dee’s journey. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Thank you to the author, Georgia Spearing, for gifting me this eARC in exchange for my honest review. It was a pleasure to be on your ARC team.

ARC review of 'Soul' by Georgia Spearing,

Firstly, thank you so much for the opportunity to the author for a chance to read Soul early via a physical copy. Soul is a moving story and the book itself has been written very well, unfortunately on this occasion I don't feel I am the target audience, but I can still appreciate the work and effort that Georgia has invested into her debut novel and I will be recommending this book to others who I feel are the target audience.

✨️Q U O T E S ✨️
"'I get it,' she said gently. 'Sometimes the world seems too big, and our dreams too far-fetched. But remember, sometimes the biggest adventures start with a leap of faith'"

" 'I am worthy of love and happiness," I declared, my voice echoing with conviction. 'I am capable and will not be diminished by your lies.' "

"You don't define me. I define myself. I am not my insecurities. I am not my fears. lam more than my illness."

📚 written review📚

Please read the trigger warnings as there is discussion of chronic illness, mental health, infertility and miscarriage which may be triggering to some readers.

The book follows Dee as our main female protagonist, who awakes in a dream like state from a car crash. We follow Dee on a journey through limbo and a soul labyrinth all in an attempt to get back to Luke, her soulmate. We get an insight into her past throughout this journey.

Unfortunately I didn't enjoy soul as much as I would have liked personally. However i can see people who love emotional books, low fantasy/magical realism, character development in terms of accepting of onesself and chronic illness may relate to this book better than myself and can see them enjoying this book more than me.

I was anticipating more fantasy and more build up of the characters but for me this isnt the type of fantasy/magical realism i enjoy - due to my personal preference, as I prefer higher fantasy, high stakes, and deep lore which I don't feel I experienced throughout soul.

I didn't feel attached to the characters or the relationships that was discussed throughout, so i wasn't invested in the overall story. However, georgia is clearly a talented writer and i can see many others enjoying this, however i am not one of the target audience on this occasion but i will definitely recommend to my friends who i can see enjoying 'Soul', as it was good just not for me.

rating: ⭐️⭐️💫 2.5 stars.

✏️I would have rated this higher if: we got to see more of Dee prior to the car crash and get to know her character, add depths to her decisions and relationships, beforehand to build that connection and experience more of her happy memories too instead of just the sad and difficult memories for the most part. I do not think this is a badly written book at all, but I was not the target audience, and my review reflects this.

This was truly like no other book I have read before

The world Georgia Spearing managed to create was incredible, and watching it unfold upon the page was a beauty to be held.

This was an emotional moving story, as I watched the main character face her past and find the strength to carry on again and again.

The romance side-plot is to die for. Luke truly is Dee's soulmate, and the romance is really sweet while taking place in this raw and emotive story.

Georgia Spearing managed to write the emotional parts and not let the wholesome parts take away from them, which was incredible to read.

Dee might be to the strongest female character I have read about!

Overall, I can't wait to see where this story will lead Luke and Dee next.

Thank you, Georgia, for sharing this story with me and allowing me to be part of your ARC team

“You don’t define me. I define myself. I am not my insecurities. I am not my fears. I am more than my illness.”

Thank you so much Georgia Spearing for sending me the ARC copy of this!

This story was really interesting, certainly not something I had seen before.

Dee is 100% the strongest person in the whole of existence. No matter what she faces she continued to get back up.

The places Dee visits are depicted in the most beautiful way, making you feel like you can actually see and touch them yourself.

Everything she does is to get back to Luke in the next book it would be interesting to see how he’s coping with the situation from his perspective. Is he going through the same thing?

It was truly a really interesting fantasy read, and a great debut novel for Georgia.

Beautifully done!
A very inspirational story about self- discovery, and finding courage with a romance sub-plot.

It reminds me a bit of the movie Soul combined with the book If I stay. But it still stands as an original.

I love the hidden meanings as we discover the world Dee was in. I really didn't need the guide. It was written nicely.

The romance is envious. I love their relationship. What the heck is my soulmate taking so long?

This book is definitely different from what I'm used to reading. I'm glad I read it. Can't wait to read the next book and to read more from the author.

Reading Soul was really enjoyable. It resonated with a wide range of experiences and feelings that girls might face in their lifetime.
Despite touching on topics that some may view as taboo, it has shown how resilient people can be and how they can overcome greater obstacles than they may have thought.

Left me wanting more!!

First, I would like to thank the author for the advanced copy of this book. Thank you for trusting me with your work. It’s extremely humbling.

“My mistakes will not define me,” I declared, my voice steady. “I will face the pain, confront my demons, and emerge stronger.”

Soul is a winding tale of self-realization and inspiration. Dee, a young woman navigating her past and present while trapped within her mind after a car accident must face her insecurities, mistakes, fears and hopes as she fights to return to her soul mate, Luke. Her journey is a richly detailed, nearly kaleidoscopic whirlwind of revolving doors within her subconscious guiding her to accept herself as she truly is. Every new door constantly asks: Will she face every dark corner and inconvenient truth?

TW mentions of miscarriage/ loss of child (Always check your trigger warnings before reading.)

I enjoy Dee’s resilience and dedication to her future. As a chronic illness warrior who has experienced miscarriages, I appreciate the real, heart-wrenching representation of Dee’s pain and struggles. The Phoenix room was by far my favorite (trust me, you’ll know when you get there!) The symbolism throughout Dee’s journey is very well done, evoking multiple emotions as you process each room and trial. While I personally find the stages of Dee’s self-discovery to be somewhat repetitive, I also think it is an overall interesting read.

🪞I am so happy to be a part of the Memory Keepers team for Soul! Coming October 15th 2024

🪞Join Dee on an adventure of facing her deepest fears, confronting her biggest anxieties, and accepting not being able to change the past but being able to shape her future! As Dee searches for her soulmate she has to conquer challenges like questioning her confidence and coming face to face with all the trauma and loss in her life. She needs to learn to love herself and face the physical and mental limitations of feeling like she doesn’t deserve anyone, but will it be enough to find Luke?

🪞I absolutely loved this read, I finished in a day! Georgia’s ability to transport you right into a scene and experience the same emotions as the characters first hand is what had me hooked by page 1. Some chapters did feel longer than necessary but the character development within the chapters had me turning the page, we got to see Dee & Luke grow and evolve simply by the vivid memories Georgia wrote.

🪞My favorite part of the whole book was Chapter 4: The Mourning Tree. This chapter was so beautifully written, so emotional and absorbing that I sat here and cried for Dee.

Please check out Georgia’s page on instagram to preorder your copy & mark your calendars!

This book was not at all what I was expecting, but not in a bad way. Dee is a resilient character, as seen by her fight to get back to Luke as well as her struggles that this journey highlights. I really enjoyed the journey through limbo that Dee took and seeing her face not only her past mistakes but her fears and doubts as well. It adds to her strength and makes her quite admirable as well as relatable. I think Soul was expertly written with Spearing doing a very good job at highlighting the emotional turmoil that Dee goes through along her journey and that readers who enjoy those books. My personal preference is to have more action and suspense in my fantasy reads, so this book was not the best fit for me, as a reader, but I still enjoyed it and can see why other readers would as well. It is a compelling read that makes readers take a step back from life and think about things we normally take for granted, or at least that was what happened as I read it.

Soul opens with the shattering of our heroine Dee's world, drawing readers into a labyrinth of her memories. We accompany Dee on a profound journey as she confronts her deepest fears and anxieties, learning to accept her past while striving to shape her future. Through her exploration of both light and darkness, driven by a yearning to reunite with her love, Dee’s resilience shines as she faces her insecurities and the trauma that has shaped her life. Her quest for self-acceptance and understanding of her worth makes her struggles deeply relatable, and each of her victories resonates with readers, evoking a shared sense of hope for her ultimate success. Spearing's masterful use of language truly captivates, drawing you in. I highly recommend this novel.

Right now I’ve had to DNF this book. When reading the blurb and finding out this book was a fantasy I was so excited to read this typically I smash through fantasy reads. However this wasn’t a fantasy like any others I read, it was different than what I was expecting. This book is written beautifully and has an interesting hook for sure! However I have a lot going on right now with my wedding around the corner so don’t feel I can give this book the attention that it deserves. It’s definitely a book you need to be able to concentrate on fully. I will come back to it when I have a bit more free time to put into a book like this, and re-review it. But sadly for now it just didn’t captivate me in the first few 4 chapters I read.

This was an Arc i had received off Georgia Spearing and i am over the moon.

Within the first chapter this book pulls you in at how descriptive the author is and at how much you wanna carry on reading it, i ended up reading this in only a couple of sittings.

It was like an emotional roller coaster reading this book,

"Will you face the darkness, or will you let it consume you?"

the author explores different real life events which can make you feel all the feelings.

the romance/soul mate plot is so raw and pure it makes you wish you had something like this your self.

I cant wait for the next step in this series and to see what will take place next, what emotional rollercoaster i will endure with dee next.

i highly recommend giving this a read

A journey of introspection is harder than you’d think.

This was an amazing story written in a unique narrative style that brought about the realization of my own fantasies. I’ve always been interested in the idea of watching your own life and memories through a different medium. Through watching it on a screen, reading about it, and more. The delivery made it so easy to swallow and very interesting to follow, done very very well.

Everything about the story was beautiful. The imagery, the vividness of the emotions you’d read from the pages, just everything. The plot/concept itself is also very mysterious, but the emotional journey you go through as you follow Dee is just heart-wrenching.

I am grateful to have been able to ARC read this book, so thank you Georgia Spearing! This was a great debut fantasy novel with a dash of romance to keep the romantasy loving readers intrigued. I love a story with a strong FMC, and especially stories that have great character development where the characters have to overcome obstacles on a journey of self-discovery. I also enjoy really descriptive world-building that easily transports me to the world in the book and Spearing did all of the above. This was a really good read for me and I would recommend it to anyone who loves the fantasy genre.

Thank you Georgia Spelling for the arc in exchange for my review! My thoughts are my own.

Please check your trigger warnings!

Soul is a story of self-realization. It follows Dee, a woman who has to dig through her past and present while she is trapped in her mind after having a car accident. She has to face many things such as her fears, mistakes, insecurities if she wants to get back to her soulmate Luke. She has to go through many doors where she faces all of that so that she finally faces who she truly is.

The symbolism throughout the book is executed perfectly. How is this Georgia Spearings debut novel?

Soul offers an intriguing premise, a liminal world between life and death where Dee must confront her past to find peace and love, but while the concept is rich, the execution sometimes falters. The emotional beats are there, especially for fans of If I Stay or The Midnight Library, and Dee’s inner reckoning provides a heartfelt core. However, the pacing drags in places, and some character dynamics, particularly with Luke, feel underdeveloped. It's a touching story of grief and self-discovery, but one that doesn’t fully deliver the emotional punch it promises. A solid read, just not as soul-stirring as it aims to be.

Unfortunately for me this was just too overwritten.
I didn’t really like the midnight library either, so I think their particular sub category of fantasy just isn’t for me. The story is perfect for someone who was a cosy feeling fantasy that explores grief and trauma, but that’s just not me unfortunately.
