This is a very entertaining book that will keep you guessing. It will keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering who to trust and who the true murderer could be. The author's writing style is commendable. It keeps the reader engaged with its vivid descriptions and plot twists. The book has a perfect blend of action, suspense, and moments of introspection. In books like this, it is hard to come across a strong female protagonist such as Kadence. She is strong, confident, and determined. She is the sort of person that achieves whatever she sets her mind on. Her sharp mind and quick thinking make her a great detective. She faced numerous challenges, yet she remained resolute, using her intelligence and experience to uncover the truth and bring justice.
While the book's central plot revolves around a murder mystery, it also sheds light on the devastating issue of school shootings and gun control. Tanner has my respect for skillfully adding these issues. School shootings are terrible occurrences that should not be in existence. It brings pain to the victims, their families, and the schools. I reflected on the different headlines seen every day about school shootings and the debates about gun control. Tanner presented gun control in a balanced way. She acknowledged the two perspectives and gray areas.
This book's unexpected twists and suspense will keep you hooked. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend it to fans of suspenseful mysteries.
