Two strangers. One bar. Bad timing?

The night Maddie Cole and Nate Jacobs find themselves in the same place, at the same moment, with an hour to kill...a spark ignites. Engineer Maddie’s determination to conquer a male-dominated industry captivates Nate’s imagination, even as his steadfast loyalty starts a glow in Maddie’s heart.

But with marriages and children in tow, anything more than friendship would mean social and emotional carnage.

As Maddie and Nate’s paths continue to cross professionally, their affections blossom into a force that can’t be ignored. And one night, when nature conspires to force them together, their resolve unravels completely.

The question is, will imploding their personal lives end in heartache, or a soulmate?

This is the second iteration of Maddie and Nate’s love story, set in the midst of the 1970’s where the constraints of the era and their responsibilities change this love’s trajectory forever.

Jacqueline gets a kick out of pondering big ideas. At the core of the Maddie and
Nate series are two of her favourite biggies. First, the idea that there are countless
realities occurring concurrently, although we can only experience one. Second, the
strong belief that we all have a soulmate we are destined to meet in our lifetime.

Jacqueline’s breadth of passions results from her curiosity, fearlessness and
open mind, which fuel her desire to experience new things, explore new places
and be constantly learning. She’s a scientist, business professional, photographer,
musician, and author. Jacqueline has advanced degrees in both science and business and is fluent in several languages. She gains inspiration from travel and divides her time between her homes in the USA, Italy, and Canada.

Next Time is another take on the love story between Nate and Maddie, which answers the question "what if they had met in the middle of their lives instead of at the end (like in Out of Time)?".

Many of the same characters from the first book return in this installment, and many of the events discussed in the first book (the blackout in Toronto, the cooking class in Italy, etc.) happen again but through the lens of this "version" of history. Enough of the storyline echoes Out of Time for it to feel familiar, but there are some surprises in their as well to keep the reader on their toes.

It's a pretty quick read, and has plenty of endearing characters. Looking forward to the next installment.

This story draws you into the lives of Maddie and Nate in an earlier time than the first book (Out of Time). The story is cleverly told and does not disappoint. It is extremely well researched and the characters are well developed. I'm looking forward to the third book in the series. I definitely recommend this book.

This is book number two of Maddie and Nate and another excellent story written by Murray!!

Once again, Murray pulled me in on lives facing, temptations, synchronicities, happiness, choices, decisions, pain, and forgiveness.

I read this story which involved these couples and the paths they decide to go down. As the reader, I was really afraid of the many paths that were chosen. I wanted to jump into the book and grab them, shake them, to snap out of it, to think about the journey they’re deciding on that will not only affect them but the surrounding people in their lives.

I enjoyed reading this story right to the end. Murray portrays a story with real life experiences and the emotions to go with it. There is no way a reader can take this story in and not be on the edge of their seat regarding what these characters are facing.
