Want to know what a serial killer, mafia boss, biker, and stalker have in common?
Being obsessed with me.
Listen, I’m not trying to give main character energy. I’m really not! I just so happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. If they could all just kindly fuck off, that would be fan-fucking-tastic. I do NOT have enough Hydroxyzine or Lexapro to handle this.
I can tell you one thing though: whatever they have planned for me? It’s NOT happening.
Note: This is a stand-alone omegaverse why choose romance with a ton of spice and dark themes.
Rounded up to a 4. I’d say 3.5/5 stars. I wanted to love this book but it didn’t quite pan out. So I was excited about the concept, the story. It was interesting how the author breaks the story into 3 parts, first giving us backstories on all the characters, then the hectic meetup of everyone, and then after leading into happily ever after. It’s a story of dark pasts, seedy individuals, these 4 bad guy alphas rescuing the omega from her awful life, and how all of them become a family. I get they are scent matches, but they move to love in super fast. The author spends so long being descriptive where it isn’t needed (2.5 pages on someone making tea??) but leaves out details where it’s needed or wanted. The rival biker gang being taken out? 2 paragraphs. It’s like the author decides, halfway through the book, that the plot is a backdrop to the relationship between the 5 people, so she speeds through those scenes to hurry up and get back to scenes like them shopping for nest accessories. Some emotions feel rushed: one minute the omega is literally hiding in her room nest, spends awhile opening up and getting comfy with one guy, then others come home and she’s scared but then oh wait no she’s actually so happy cause she loves them. My biggest beef with this book though, as honestly I can deal with the writing style and forgotten plot, is that things just randomly jump. It’s difficult to follow along. It’s like the editor told her to make the book smaller so instead of cutting out half of the descriptive sentences, they removed transitions between past and present etc. however, understanding the exact details isn’t needed to read the book. I was able to still get what was going on despite confusing moments and transitions. The spicy scenes are good. This was an arc review.
Quick Summary: Darcy is an Omega that has spent her life hiding behind fake smiles and politeness to impress her abusive father’s political cohorts. All the while, she is plotting to escape her gilded prison. When her father tries to bargain her life away, she flees in haste and ends up on the arms of a group of men that may be just has dangerous…
Review: This Omegaverse novel is extremely indulgent. It has every stereotypical MMC that most dark omegaverse readers crave - a serial killer, an obsessive stalker, a biker and a mob boss. All of these MMCs are dangerous and murderous, and are coincidentally obsessed with one FMC and will destroy anyone that tries to hurt her.
I appreciate that the FMC, Darcy was strong-willed and had the desire to be more than completely co-dependent on her partner(s). I understand that the nature of an Omega within many Omegaverse novels is that they are somewhat at the whim of their biology / hormones, but I enjoy when an Omega has their own aspirations; which this FMC delivers.
The multi-pov provides background to each of the characters, which is appreciated. However, the overview of each MMC’s “past” seemed rushed in order to get to the “present” in which they meet the FMC. This rush caused some holes in the MMC’s storylines that left me with questions that were unfortunately not answered.
This book contains a MM relationship. I do wish that there was more lead up / development to the MM relationship in the beginning. It felt as if the introduction of the MM relationship was extremely rushed and left me feeling let down because MM relationships in Omegaverse novels is a favorite of mine because it adds another dimension to the relationships.
I felt that the first several chapters had “good bones,” but once all of the characters met, the plot felt disjointed. Unfortunately, because the plot felt rushed and didn’t quite flow, it made it very difficult for me to connect with any of the characters and the spice wasn’t enough to distract me from that lack of connection. I enjoyed the idea of this book — 4 “villains” coming together to form a pack to protect an Omega is a premise right up my alley. I really wanted to like this book, but the execution left me a bit bereft.
This book was different from most books. We get to know each character and their lives and how it shapes them into the adults they are today. I liked how they all meet and how they come together as a pack to see to their omega's needs. They come together to shut down enemy's that was present before they became a pack. I enjoyed the storyline but I was also wishing to read more about darcy. I wanted to read how she grew into herself as an individual and in her pack. She fought so hard to get away from her fathers clutches, I would have liked to see more of her.
I loved the character development in Knot Happening. I learned the history of each character, which ultimately leads them to becoming scent matched. This is a refreshing change. Darcy, Harlen, Pietro, Axel, and Jim are the perfect pack. The devotion, protection, and love they have for each other is 🏆. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Reverse harem, four irresistible bad boys, and plenty of spice—what's not to love, right? Well, it’s a bit more complicated than that. At first glance, the book checks all the right boxes. We get just enough backstory on each character to understand what’s shaped them into who they are. The story kicks off with Darcy breaking free from her gilded cage and escaping the clutches of her controlling, abusive father. But as she flees one prison, it almost feels like she steps willingly into another, handing control over to four dangerous yet undeniably magnetic men. I’m all for the Omegaverse trope, and I adored the obsessive protectiveness Harlen, Axel, Pietro, and Jin shower on Darcy. Their fierce devotion to her is intoxicating, and I loved how they came together as a pack to cherish and defend her. Still, I couldn’t help but wonder—was Darcy just trading one cage for another? What really stood out for me was the diversity of the men. Each of them comes with their own dark past, and watching them wrestle with their demons adds a delicious depth to the story. However, the narrative does get a bit chaotic at times. The plot has moments where it leaps through time without much explanation, and certain storylines are dropped as if they never really mattered, which gives the whole book a bit of a disjointed feel. That said, I still loved the way the guys formed this tight-knit, unbreakable bond around Darcy, their Omega. The chemistry was sizzling, and despite the hiccups in pacing and structure, it delivered all the addictive energy I crave in a reverse harem romance. I liked the premise of this book. The idea of four “bad” guys all coming together and working together to form a pack with their omega, Darcy, was great. I enjoyed the first part of the book, which was basically introductory for every character. Getting to learn about what they did and who they were, and why, was good. However, things seemed to repeat but in different words. The story started to fall flat when the action started. Everything after the first few introductions became very surface-level. As a reader, I wasn’t privy to any character relationship building. There was just sex, but no actual substance to the relationships. I did understand that, at a primal level, these people were meant to be together, but with how headstrong and opinionated Darcy was made out to be, she ended up just accepting four alphas and basically became what she never wanted to be. It was disappointing that there was no substance to their relationships. The reader isn’t privy to any conversations that happened between the characters, and there was never a single problem between Darcy or anyone else for them to get past or build on. The problems were all outside their home, and Darcy just sat back. I really wanted to love the story, but there was no depth to it, despite it having great bones and so much space to work depth into it. I wished for character relationship development, and character growth. There was none of it.
If you like supporting new authors please give this a try! My review is my own opinion and not to discourage any new readers. I love the premise of this book so do not be dissuaded by my review!
I can tell this is a new author before I even looked into how many books she’s written. The plot started off strong, we get each characters individual backstory with tragic past and all but everything went downhill after they all met.
The plot fell apart like the author wasn’t sure how to actually solve the issues that were presented so she just tossed out, oh so and so is now dead or we attacked this gang and now the issue is solved. So disappointing.
The premise behind this story is phenomenal but the execution was lacking. If you remove all of the times the author said the same thing just in a different variation with a new thesaurus word, the book wouldn’t be longer than 150 pages. So if she could do that, then really work through the issues and execute solutions to them then this could be a 5 star book. I really hope she rewrites this book one day and does a rerelease I’ve seen other authors do once they get feedback and experience.
Most of the time the wording is an example of why people say “less is more” so often. The wording is extra and very try hard.
I am obsessed with this story. It was so quick and easy to read, I read it in a mere few hours 😍😍😍
Our fmc Darcy is amazing. She is an Omega but doesn't want to be restrained or held back simply because she's an Omega. She wants more for herself. I love that, she is so brave, compassionate and I couldn't help but like her.
Our mmc's are Jin, Pietro, Axel and Harlan. They've all come from different walks of life but ultimately Darcy was always supposed to be their omega, their purpose. I really appreciated Quinn giving us a kind of backstory on each character because it helped me understand them so much.
The plot was amazing. We see all of the guys rally around Darcy to support her in every way they can but also coming together as a pack and learning more and more about each other every day. On top of that, the guys were all facing challenging situations but found a way to make it work.
Such a good story. I highly recommend 💙💙💙
Thank you so much to Quinn and your beautiful team for giving me the chance to read this story. I am forever grateful 🙏 All opinions are honest and my own 🩷
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶
💙 why choose with mm 💙 multiple pov 💙 omegaverse 💙 serial unaliver 💙 forced heat 💙 mafia 💙 bratva mmc 💙 st@lker mmc 💙 so much more...
In poly books I often find that the characters start to blend together because they aren't established well as individuals. In this book, we got several chapters in each other characters POVs before the group forms. This allows each character to stand out in a meaningful way.
That said, this book wasn't really for me. This authors writing style was metaphor heavy and the prose felt too heavy handed, which felt like an odd choice for this book. The plot was too smooth, conflicts a little too convenient.
Things were a bit too insta-lovey for me too. I enjoyed several cute moments that the characters shared, but honestly, I was more invested in Harlen and Pietro's relationship than the whole groups situation. Harlen and Axel were my favorite characters by far and the rest of the book fell a little flat.
As for if you should read Knot Happening, I guess it depends on what you look for in a book. It wasn't horrible by any measure and I'm sure a lot of people will love it.
Thank you to the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Darcy (h), an omega trapped under the iron grip of her ruthless father, is determined to escape the life he has planned for her. With her father's dangerous schemes closing in, Darcy turns to a group of alphas, Pietro (H), Jin (H), Axel (H), and Harlen (H), each carrying their own dark pasts and deadly skills. Pietro is a leader within the Russian Bratva, Jin is a man who has concealed his true alpha nature to protect himself, Axel is a nomad with ties to a motorcycle club, and Harlen is a ruthless enforcer known as "The Reaper." The relationships between Darcy and her alphas develop slowly, with each man playing a crucial role in helping her with the dangers, violence, and betrayals she faces. Together, they form a pack, bound not just by their primal instincts but also by their feelings for one another. As they grow closer, Darcy learns to trust them, and they become fiercely protective of her, giving her the strength and support to fight for her freedom and the life she wants. Hot and steamy dark MMFMM RH omegaverse romance, exploring love, loyalty, trust, defiance, determination, survival, belonging, and found family.
I loved the premise of this book—four "bad" guys forming a pack with their omega, Darcy. The initial character introductions were strong and engaging, but as the story progressed, it felt repetitive and surface-level.
While there was plenty of physical chemistry, the relationships lacked depth. Darcy’s strong-willed nature diminished as she simply accepted her role with the alphas, which was disappointing. There were no meaningful conflicts or conversations, making the plot feel rushed and unresolved.
The concept is fantastic, but the execution fell short. If the repetitive elements were trimmed, the story could have been much tighter. I hope the author considers revising this in the future because it has great potential. Overall, I encourage readers to give it a shot and support new authors!
I generally enjoy omegaverse tales, but this one didn't reach the mark for me. I appreciate that this is a fairly new path for this author, so my intention is not to belittle or discourage, at all. I was intrigued to start, although I felt like the FMC was a bit more whiny than determined. The MMCs could have used a little more depth to maybe curb some of the holes in their sides of the story as well as keeping the plot together. I think the concept is there, but a little more work needs to be put into the meat of the story to fix the flow and bring the plot together. This is just my opinion as a reader, certainly not an expert writer - I just know the tales I enjoy. There are many who did enjoy the tale, in all of it's glory. I think a little tweaking would raise the bar for this author.

This was an interesting take on the story. The concept of it drew me in. I would say there’s a lot I did enjoy. It was an interesting take on the way the story went and how it went into the background of each character. Then you get the meet up of the omega and the pack.
I would say overall I enjoyed the book but I did feel like it was missing a little bit. I felt that the story could have had a little more with Darcy and her pack. The spicy scenes were good I just wish I had a little more info on the plot and how that played into the story. I did feel like it became a backdrop a little bit.
Overall, the story was cute and I did enjoy the connections they made.
My heart broke for Harlen and what he went through. As well as Pietro. I would have loved to have known what eventually happened to his mom after he went to prison. My heart also broke for Axel losing his father and watching his home chapter Fall Apart. Jin was a solid strength hiding in the shadows. I honestly lost track of Darcy a lot during the book because there was so much going on with the alphas in their lives that it made me kind of forget about her. Also I did not need so much information on how Harlen makes his tea.

At the start it was promising but as you keep reading it just gets confusing. There are points in the story that seems to be skipping important moments. Like one moment things are flowing and then the next its like you miss a chunk of the scene and are left confused and unsatisfied. Two out of the four alphas don't even have that much chemistry with Darcy, they are just there in the background. I was so excited from reading the blurb, but it's nothing like it states it's going to be. I was left unsatisfied and just confused because the potential was there but badly executed.
This book is a delightful read that offers a perfect blend of romance, violence and insightful commentary on modern relationships, in the omegaverse. Although she was an omega she was so strong and wanted to be free and feel loved. Her 4 Alphas did just that. They catered to her needs while not forgetting their own business. She added to their lives in a positive way and they promised to protect her and that's what they did. Quinn Hawthorne has crafted a story that is both entertaining and thought-provoking, making it a must read for fans of the genre.
I loved this book, it is clearly divided into 3 parts. In the first part the stories of the main character are told, in the second part they come together and in the third part they try to build a life. Each character is unique and special in their own way. What took some getting used to is that the transition to the next chapter sometimes happens suddenly, the story does not flow smoothly and you suddenly end up in a sequel without a transition. If you love omegaverse then this book is definitely recommended.
This was a really good romance book. I liked the omegaverse reverse harem/ why choose with m/m and m/f content. The part I liked the most was that I got to see each of their back stories one by one before they even met each other really. I also loved the art in the book, so cute. 4 out of 5 stars.
This book as my conflicted. Good plot with a strong start but lacking of the right energy between the charachters. The FMC is painted like an indipendent omega, but in fact we don't read about it for the second half of the book. I can understand that the dynamics in a OV universe are different, but really she didn't question ANY of her alphas prefessions? Still good, but I feel it needed more connection between them.
I loved the plot and in depth view of each character, but the connection between Darcy and all of her alphas is majorly lacking. The relationships seem like they’re solely based on being scent matches and most of the intimacy occur during her heat. While Jin and Darcy’s relationship has the most depth (followed by Axel), there is so much more room for all of the relationships to grow. I feel like Pieter and Harlen’s relationship is so much deeper and explored the most in the book.
I love that the book was clearly separated into different parts allowing for some amazing character building, intense action and spice and the perfect HEA 💕
This was my first omegaverse read! So good!
Four alphas and one omega coming together from all sorts of hell and chaos to create their perfect pack!
3.5 stars. Something didn’t quite mesh for me. The battles never mention the take down of the opponents leaders. The rats were never given a name, just supposed to have been someone in inner circle? Though Pietros rat did get a somewhat appropriate end. No answer as to why. I don’t know why I just couldn’t get into it.
This is a great dark omegaverse romance. I liked Darcy’s determination and will to be free. Each of her mates are clearly distinctive, have their own backstory and have facets to their personality. This is a great story with multiple arcs and sub-stories that run in tandem throughout the book. This is a very good 5 star read.
I like the characters in this story. Darcy who is hiding and the men that come into her life. Each one has a section where you find out who they are and how they fit into Darcy's life. The book held my attention until the end.

This was a dark story aggressive story which provided back ground information on each main character. I loved how the alphas came together to protect their omega Darcy. Join the story see to how the darkest of hearts can learn how to love. Enjoy 🥰.
