Rate this book
A hurricane, visions, and vengeance. When she receives an eerie message from beyond the grave, can this new witch survive the coming tempest?

Atlas Cliffs, Maine. Drew Harlow’s soul vibrates with creativity. Home from college and ready for surfing, bonfires, and romance with her love, the talented mystic’s magic flows through her paintbrush unexpectedly bringing the Neptune Point lighthouse into vivid life. But after her struggles leave the art unfinished, she’s startled by the appearance of a ghost whose cryptic warning leaves her canvas dripping red.

Unsettled by her inability to decipher the unnerving symbol, Drew focuses her attention on helping the spirit of a feisty young woman who has no idea she’s dead. Though when she uses her gifts to show the ghost the truth, she’s horrified to discover the unfortunate deceased was a victim of an all-too-familiar killer behind bars.

As ominous clouds and a foreboding raven loom, can she unravel the puzzle before she’s the next to cross over?

Angela van Liempt is a small-town girl with big dreams. Music inspires her and she creates a playlist for every book she writes. The Atlas Cliffs series emerged from her curiosity with the paranormal, but along the way, she discovered a passion for weaving romance into her stories.

She lives on the east coast of Canada with her family and her beloved dog, Harley, otherwise known as ‘Pippy’ or ‘Harley-Quinn’. A lover of the ocean, full moons, and sunsets, she’d choose to be barefoot on a beach any day over big city life. Escaping into fictional coastal towns with characters who feel like real people is one of her favorite pastimes.

I’ve absolutely LOVED this series since book one, but I have to say that this finale is definitely the BEST book of the trilogy!!! I FREAKING LOVED IT!!!

I’m sad to say goodbye to these characters, especially Drew, but I loved how it ended. Actually I was thinking that, and I know this was the ending, but the way the ending was written opened up a way for more, or maybe a spinoff series down the road, if Angela wanted. (I know, wishful thinking)

Anyway, this book had my emotions all over the place! It is THAT well written! When you start feeling everything the character is feeling, and very intensely, you know the author did an amazing job, and you love the characters/the book so much more!!

Drew has found her family. It’s made up of chosen family, friends who are loyal, supportive and would put their lives on the line for each other. This group of friends have come to mean so much to me. I’m going to miss them so much.

This book/series is full of the supernatural, magic, family & friends, love and romance. This has mystery, action…life threatening, suspenseful moments. This is a series you DO NOT WANT TO MISS!! I guarantee a roller coaster ride!!

Sometimes the best part of coming into an ARC end of the series, is you get to catch up with the other books and read them all in quick succession!

Will a Hurricane bring horrific truths to Atlas Cliffs?

Drew’s connection to the lighthouse and those around her will be tested with new powers emerging, a new ghost and an unnerving symbol to decipher.

Coming in book 3, I enjoyed catching up with books 1 and 2 so close together. You really do need to read them in order to to get the full understand of what has been occurring in Atlas Cliffs over the past few years. There is deep mystery and intrigue with the characters.

Drew is like Nancy Drew, Veronica Mars and Melinda Gordon (Ghost Whisperer) all rolled into one! She’s been a wonderful character to watch develop over the course of the series. As she grew and her abilities become more potent, you couldn’t help but feel attached and protective.

The ghosts were all well written into their particular roles and those in book 3 are no different. They will tug at your heart when their stories are revealed and their purpose discovered. 👻

This was a fantastic witchy mystery, paranormal suspense and romance rolled into an enjoyable series and for book 3, Braving Storms. Drew is the epitome of the quote, “They whispered you cannot withstand the storm….I am the storm.” ⛈️

Thank you to the author, Angela Van Liempt, for the opportunity to read this book. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Drew Harlow has always been our go-to girl for solving supernatural mysteries, but in *Braving Storms*, the grand finale of Angela Van Liempt’s spellbinding series, she’s not just weathering a storm—she’s owning it. This book is like the ultimate love child of *Nancy Drew*, *Ghost Whisperer*, and *Practical Magic*, with all the witchy vibes, ghostly encounters, and sleuthing you’ve come to adore.

We’ve watched Drew evolve from a curious college student to a full-fledged mystical force of nature. And let’s be real, seeing her juggle her paintbrush, surfboard, and witchcraft all while dealing with cryptic messages from the beyond? Absolute goals. But this time, she’s facing her biggest challenge yet—a hurricane that’s more than just weather and a ghost with secrets darker than the storm clouds rolling in.

From the first crack of thunder to the last stroke of Drew’s brush, this book is a wild ride. The stakes are higher, the ghosts are sassier, and the magic? It’s more potent than ever. And don’t even get me started on the mystery at the heart of this story. It’s twistier than a lightning bolt and just as electrifying.

What makes *Braving Storms* a perfect series finale is how it ties together all the things we love about Drew. Her connection to the spirit world is deeper, her detective instincts sharper, and her witchy powers? Let’s just say if this was a video game, she’s hit max level.

Angela Van Liempt wraps up Drew’s journey with a perfect blend of tension, heart, and just the right amount of spooky vibes. *Braving Storms* isn’t just an ending; it’s a triumphant, wind-swept, ghost-ridden finale that will leave you spellbound. If you’ve followed Drew this far, you’re in for a treat. And if you’re new to the series, well, you’re about to binge your new favorite witchy mystery.

I received an arc copy of this story: Drew has another ghost to help but she just wants to get back to her normal life and have a regular summer with her friends and loved ones before she goes back to college in the fall.

But there is a paranormal and real storm brewing out there and they both will affect her in many ways.

I loved this series and the last book was amazing! If you love Nancy Drew, Ghost hunters and witchy stories this series is the best . Thank Angela for adding me to the Arc Team

Knowing this was the end of the series, I really wanted to savor every chapter. I read this slower than any book. It's like I was a part of the story. Angela really brings life to her books. This was such an amazing series. If you enjoyed Ghost Whisperer or Nancy Drew this series is definitely for you. Drew is an amazing character and strong and determined. She gets in her own way sometimes, but don't we all?

I have to say, "Braving Storms" really swept me off my feet. From the moment I started reading, I was pulled into the small-town charm of Atlas Cliffs, Maine, and Drew Harlow’s intriguing world. Her summer back from college, filled with dreams of surfing, bonfires, and romance, takes a sharp turn when her art starts bleeding into the supernatural.

Drew’s character felt like someone I could really relate to—she’s a passionate artist trying to balance her love for creativity with the unexpected twists of her magical gifts. Her struggle with the mysterious red stain on her painting and her determination to help a ghost who doesn’t even realize she’s dead were so gripping. I found myself rooting for Drew as she navigated the eerie warnings and tried to solve the chilling mystery behind the ghost’s message.

The way the novel paints the coastal setting of Atlas Cliffs is just beautiful. The lighthouse, in particular, felt almost like a character itself, adding to the suspense and atmosphere. I loved how Drew’s artistic world blended seamlessly with the supernatural elements, making for a unique and immersive reading experience.

That said, I did wish the resolution had been a bit more drawn out and that some of the supporting characters had been given a little more depth. But these were minor issues compared to the overall enjoyment I got from the story. The mix of magic, mystery, and a touch of romance made for a thoroughly engaging read.

By the end of "Braving Storms," I was not only invested in Drew’s journey but also eagerly anticipating what might come next for her. It’s a fantastic pick for anyone who enjoys a well-crafted supernatural mystery with a personal touch.

A stunning conclusion to the Atlas Cliff series. Angela does a wonderful job of pulling this story full circle before giving the reader a satisfying ending to the world that is Atlas Cliffs.

The plot.
The story picks up following the events of Book 2. The book centers a lot of a new ghost's story and her connections to Drew's own past experience. This woman ghost is feisty and unaware she is dead. BUT once she realizes, she won't relent on Drew helps her solve the mystery of her death -- dragging Drew closer toward a past she'd rather not deal with. The plot centers on deal with old (but still painful) wounds, sacrifice, loss, and hope. None of the characters are safe from the dangers of Atlas Cliffs and the turns in this story will have you hooked.

The characters.
Angela spends alot of time giving the reader insights into Dru's different relationships with the other characters -- Nico, Piper, her father, Taj, among others. I loved watching these stories get tied together. So much of this story rested on Drew learning that she did not have to do everything her own -- a tough thing to learn. While Drew doesn't get it right every time, I loved how real and raw that made her character. Drew isn't perfect, but she learns and strives to do better. It was really nice to see that come full circle from where she starts in Wandering Souls. I loved getting to see Claudia, Nico, and Piper -- Drew's fiercely protective circle strive to be there for her.

If you enjoy YA mysteries with Ghost Whisper and Veronica Mars vibes, this completed series is definitely one you need to read.

I was fortunate to receive an ARC of this book. As the final instalment in a captivating trilogy, this novel delivers an epic conclusion that fans of the series have been eagerly awaiting. The mix of mystery, magic, and supernatural elements will keep you on the edge of your seat.

What I loved most about this book—and the trilogy as a whole—is how it expertly weaves together elements of mystery, the supernatural, and the bonds of family and friendship. The character development throughout the series is exceptional, and this final book brings everything together in a way that is both satisfying and thrilling. The author has truly outdone themselves in crafting a world that is rich with magic and steeped in intrigue, providing readers with an engaging and satisfying conclusion.

This trilogy is an absolute must-read for anyone who enjoys a mix of mystery, magic, and the supernatural. The third book meets expectations and exceeds them, delivering a powerful and emotional finale that will leave readers both fulfilled and yearning for more. This series has been a fantastic journey from start to finish, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a spellbinding adventure.

This is the epic end of the atlas cliff series. I couldn't put it down and completely LOVE the characters in this book... I'm sorry Drew but Nico is my book boyfriend! What happens when you have the love of your life, your best friends, and a second mother witch all together? Some pretty magical stuff and help from the original witch Aurora. Drew is trying her best to continue on her path in helping connect the dead with their living family. Jules is a complete mystery to Drew as she doesn't remember who she is or that she's even dead. Drew eventually tells her that She's dead and helps her with sharing the memory in Jules of how she died. With this knowledge, drew tries to figure out who she is. During a party with Claudia and her fiancé Grant, Jules appears and recognizes her brother but he can't see or hear her. All the while; Dominic Sloan is heavy on Drew's mind and she's quite scared. He escapes prison and threatens everyone Drew holds dear. Can drew help Jules? conquer Sloan and maintain her relationships without breaking?

This third and final installment of the Atlas Cliffs series is a perfect combination of witchcraft, haunting intrigue, and heartfelt romance. The story arc echos the previous tales of Drew helping a wandering soul (in this case, a rather stubborn, un-charming and, yet, vulnerable one), and, eventually, having to battle a witch-hunting evil soul. As is our Drew, she also continues to struggle with trusting her friends and with fully opening up to the love of her life, Nico.

I enjoyed this book so much! I have always loved this author's writing style: atmospheric, sensitive, and yet always a consistent pull of suspense. I highly recommend this series to anyone interested in supernatural stories with an underpinning of romance.

In Braving Storms, a young woman who ushers ghosts into the afterlife is visited by a ghost who warns her about dangerous events to come, and meets another ghost who shares a connection to her traumatic past. This final book is the longest in the series and the pacing is slow, the story focused more on the characters than on plot tension. The novel picks up in its middle third. The ghosts are creative, and the main ghost of the story entertainingly persistent. The coast town setting is immersive and comforting, and the magic system is descriptive.

Angela did a phenomenal job creating a world surround with magic and the supernatural. Her villains are terrifying and ruthless. Her characters have passion and feel real.
This series would make an amazing movie or series of movies! Angela has a way with connecting you with her world and characters that puts you there in the scene.

Thank you Angela for creating a world filled with love, light and darkness that encompasses everything from fear and hatred to friendship and family. The kind of family you choose and who choose you!

Braving Storms wraps up a series about a young woman named Drew who communicates with ghosts (wandering souls) and often helps them resolve things left undone before they died. I could really relate to Drew and found myself cheering her on, especially when it came to her romantic interest, Nico. I enjoyed the action, intrigue and paranormal elements of this book, but I think my favourite part was the characters. I loved so many of them and finished the book feeling like I have this delightful, diverse group of friends who all care for and support each other. I'll enjoy having this cast of Atlas Cliffs characters swimming around in my mind for a long time.

I LOVED IT SO MUCH!!

I'm sad to see the series come to an end but I think it was the perfect way to close it off. This series is such a comfort series for me. It's cozy, it's mysterious, it's cute, and it's spooky all wrapped up in a little bow

Angela's writing is incredible, the characters are thoroughly thought out-and have so much depth to them, and I just love that I have a series I can keep coming back to when I want something comfortable (it's literally about ghosts and unsolved mysteries and unalivings, but ... cozy?)

ANYWAYS! 10/10. I can't wait to see what Angela comes up with next!

This third and final book in the series had me captivated - I couldn't put it down. Paranormal, romance, mystery... it has something for everyone. The author does a fantastic job of wrapping up the series, and these characters will stick with you. I read Braving Storms as an ARC reader, and will be making sure I obtain a hard copy to complete the set. Angela Van Liempt is an author worth checking out! This is a wonderful conclusion to an awesome trilogy. Drew’s journey is far from easy but what she learns and overcomes along the way is so inspiring. It’s suspenseful but also wholesome and heartwarming. The found family is strong with this one. I found it very character driven, focusing on growth and relationships; it was satisfying seeing how far these characters have come.
Ghosts, magic and a mystery to solve, this book has it all, and I love how everything came together with no loose ends.

An immensely satisfying conclusion to a great trilogy! I was immediately drawn back into Drew’s world and revisiting the cast of characters was like spending time with old friends. This novel does a great job of exploring both the joys and struggles of friendship and love while doing so against an increasingly intense paranormal backdrop. Creepy and emotional, this novel is sure to please those looking for a flavouring of ghosts with their romance this fall season.

I absolutely love this series. Book 3 did not disappoint. Drew,Nico, and Piper are at it again with the Ghost. Drew has the biggest of problems with life and Ghost in this book. She has to help one figure out how to cross over but also takes on one the hardest, meanest Ghost ever. The ending is absolutely amazing, and I love everything about this book. Definitely recommend

Our main character, Drew, fights her final battle in Atlas Cliffs. There is magic, mystery, suspense, and a satisfying ending to this trilogy. I’ll miss these characters, and can’t wait to see what’s next for this author!

Obsessed with this book would be an understatement!
Following Drew’s story has been a whirlwind of an experience in these 3 books and this one was the perfect ending for her story. She is one powerful character and the magic you feel is beautiful. I am very sad to say goodbye to all of these characters but they will forever be in my heart.

Braving Storms by Angela Van Liempt is the powerful third installment in the Atlas Cliff trilogy, and it does not disappoint. This book showcases the incredible journey of Drew Harlow, a character whose growth across the series is nothing short of phenomenal. From her early struggles in the first book to the way she embraces her power in Braving Storms, Drew's character development is one of the highlights of the trilogy. In this final book, she not only matures emotionally but also learns to navigate the complexities of life with more grace and strength. What stands out most is her ability to accept that some things in life are beyond her control while recognizing that change is inevitable and often necessary.

Van Liempt does a masterful job of weaving together action, romance, and deep personal transformation, making Braving Storms a highly satisfying conclusion to the series. The pacing is on point, with tension building to a climactic and fulfilling conclusion that leaves you reflecting on Drew's journey long after the final page. If you've been invested in Drew's story from the beginning, this final chapter will feel both cathartic and empowering. Angela Van Leept delivers on every front: character development, emotional depth, and an engaging plot.
