Absolutely Amazing

I’ve been busy with work so it took me a little longer to finish this book. But listen here. If you haven’t read this yet. You need to download this now. The trauma in these pages are like no other feeling. I laughed, cried and wanted to tear something up so bad. The author reels you in with a captivating story that’s prevalent to racism that’s happening to this very day. Growing up in society, it’s very easy to be a victim to these types of things. We need to take heed and speak more about things like this. The author was very smart with relaying the message. I love how she connects to the readers in different ways. With each story she gets better and better. I felt she was wrote this story for all of the families who are fighting everyday to get Justice for their loved ones. It makes me wonder how many people are still fighting for Justice to be served for their loved ones. Bravo to this amazing and wonderful read. I rate this 10/10 & would highly recommend this. Thank you for another amazing story.

🔥😭🔥😭🔥😭

This book had me in tears. It brought by so many memories of recent police brutality. “By any means necessary,” was what we were taught by Malcolm X and Jabari did just that. When justice failed, Jabari took matters into his own hands. Sometimes you got to show them who they messing with.

Justice and Jabari’s mother was pathetic. Her lies and secrets contributed to the events of the night. The audacity of her to blame Jabari without accountability. Her grief got the best of her.

Their father, omg. During that time, how could he date Rachel and not know who she was or her last name. That’s ridiculous. Although I was shocked about their parents, I wasn’t surprised about the outcome.

eye for an eye

This book but me in my feelings in such a raw and uncut way I just had to go hug my son for a while. Some parts of the book was very cringy and seemed a bit outdated with the blatant racism, it was still a very good read. A call to action of sorts, I love how not only it tells the story like people actually experience it , but also gives solutions and a bit of happy / realistic ending.

I enjoyed this read tremendously. Justice had a bright future ahead of him and it was taken away because of racism! This took me back to the George Floyd case! I was stunned they found him not guilty, but not surprised! In the end he got his karma! Too bad the dad was killed. Jabari lost his whole family besides his uncle. What a tragedy! The justice system really sucks sometimes!!

wow

The story was very realistic and even though it was triggering, I enjoyed it! I enjoyed the dual perspectives being told from both brothers and even though it was quick, there were so many jaw dropping moments!

Justice

As a mother of a black man. I taught him to do the same as Justice was taught. It's a shame that our fear outweighs our protection. This was an amazing book. Keep up the good work.

we deserve justice

It’s rare that you see justice served when it comes to police brutality. Families and friends don’t often to get see their loved ones get an outcome that honors their lives by giving the one responsible a guilty verdict. Even then there is still a piece that is forever taken away. A life and dreams that will never be fulfilled. But loved ones will honor the memory and hopefully end this cycle

Justice is not always served in the court system

This story was good. It was a quick but emotional read. The story is well-written, has interesting characters, touches on different aspects of black living, and even causes characters to look at their lives. The only reason I did not give this story a five star is that it needs a bit of editing to read smoothly.

Justice Brown, a black 15 year old, was an exceptionally gifted student. He had already been accepted into university to start his law degree. Then, one night, he loses everything because of racism and the cop involved was found not guilty.

Justice's brother, Jabari, knew he had to avenge his death and make him proud. Jabari, sets about completing this throughout the rest of the novella.
