What a fantastic adventure. I thoroughly enjoyed this fantasy novel. It was so well developed, from the world building to the unique language, from the heartfelt characters to the threats they faced. While keeping with a traditional classic story, it felt fresh and unique due to the elements introduced. Shape-shifting in particular made it fun and different. The language is rich and descriptive, which fully immersed me in the world. A good book.
I enjoyed reading this story about Geriana, a 12-year-old girl who has yet to transform into her animal form. Feeling like an outcast, she has yet to learn of her hired purpose. This story takes you on a journey of growth and discovery and leaves you with a fantastic cliffhanger in anticipation of her call to the old mountain.
Author, ‘A.R. Bledsoe’, has a brilliant mind for storytelling, and it really shines in this first series, “Legend of Geriana”! I truly enjoyed the transformation of Geriana in this fantasy as she struggles with her own dilemma “to become more, fulfill the family role and fit into her friends of Whittle Woods”. There’s so much heart and compassion in this fantasy! A great story for young readers who are looking for an adventure, and it’s just beginning!
"Legend of Geriana: Part One", authored by A.R. Bledsoe, a world brimming with wonder and fascination, welcomed me. I became completely engrossed in the story as it unfolded. The possibilities of Geriana's transformation in the story intrigued me. The author used such rich descriptions that I felt immersed in each scene, and the chapter illustrations were beautifully done. Readers will find this story captivating and won't be able to put it down. This book is worth reading.
Long and involved with lots of worldbuilding and description. If that’s your thing, definitely grab this book. It’s the first of a series, so I’m excited to see where it goes from here, but there were definitely parts I found myself skimming because it was just so much and so wordy for me.
However, that didn’t affect my review because I understand in epic fantasy that is what fans adore. It’s just not for me.
This was a fun book! I liked it as and adult and I would have loved it as a kid too. I like the idea of a race of people who all transform into animals and the innate conflict that comes with being the outsider who can't transform. It's a powerful story about learning that you are enough, no matter your shortcomings, with a lot of fantasy fun and action mixed in. Great read.
Legend of Geriana: Part One captivated me from the start! The rich world-building and engaging characters pulled me in, making it hard to put down. The blend of adventure and magic is thrilling, and I can’t wait to see where the story goes next. I highly recommend it for fantasy lovers!
A story of childhood adventures and friendship. Bledsoe's writing is emotional, captivating, and engaging. The ending of this novel is spectacular and I can't wait for part 2!
