I used to create "dreams" with my best friend growing up. We'd each pick a boy we liked, then we'd write down a meet-cute that always ended with a happily ever after.
Now I get to dream every day, although it's a little steamier these days. And I've discovered I can and will write anywhere I can. Keep tuned to Instagram to see all the times I fit in a sentence or two.
I'm a writer, married to a writer, mother of a creative dynamo of a nine-year-old boy and currently a little sleepy. I'm a klutz and goofball and love lipstick as much as my Chuck Taylors.
Good things in the world: pepperoni pizza, Flair pens*, wine, coffee, laughing with my friends until my stomach hurts, a musician at the top of their game, getting lost somewhere I've never been, matinee movies on a weekday, the Chicago Cubs, a fresh new notebook full of possibilities, bourbon on a cold night, Fantasy Football, witty men, walking through the local zoo in the rain and that moment when a character clicks in and begins to write their own adventure. I'm just the pen.
Book Review Keep Philly A Novella Written By Kelly Kay Fiction - Romance Published 2023 96 Pages ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is Book 1.5 in the author’s Boston Brothers Series. It is a quick read. This is Robbie and Claire’s story. Robbie is nearing the end of his hockey playing years. Does their love have a second chance?
This story was not what I was expecting. I mean that in a good way. If it is a Kelly Kay’s book, it is loaded with spice!
This novella is an exclusive in the author’s newsletter.
This novella was cute & gives an inside view to Claire & Robbie.
These two have been together a long time, and their relationship is basically on auto pilot, but not in the best way. The way the author captured the feeling of being overwhelmed with rearranging the family routine while Robbie is at home while also being underwhelmed with Robbies' lack of being present - just wow.
Robbie's a good husband and father, but he isn't a good partner and caretaker. Sure, he works and brings home the bacon, but he isn't a contributing member in the ways that count. I just really felt that in my soul.
The way the book started - the one steamy night- I genuinely thought this was a flashback!!! I loved how it was like a way for the two to reconnect on a more feral & primal level.
Emotional hangover. Kelly Kay gave me an emotional hangover. I feel wrung out and pieced back together.
This short story packs a punch. Robbie and Claire come in hot and fast, and I mean, melt-your-kindle hot! Their chemistry is sizzling.
I loved the raw honesty of their story, the communication even though it was difficult and the grace they gave each other when they spoke their truths. A beautiful second chance.
