She’s a runaway bride in the morning but already riding a cowboy by 4PM 👀 Too insta lovey & unrealistic!!
I typically don’t mind an insta love but I literally didn’t know anything about the characters yet and they were already sexing it up. No buildup but also lacking chemistry 💨
Top moment: when she puts his cowboy hat on to ride him 🤠
I picked it up for the breeding kink but the smut wasn’t as good for it to compensate for bad characters.
I’ve always lived a simple life, The ranch and my horse are all I’ve ever needed. My world was quiet and solitude. It suited me just fine.
Until I met her…
Maddison Mackenzie ended up in Clearwater Creek by chance. She’s beautiful, she’s chaotic, And she’s everything I never knew I wanted.
Now, I just have to convince her to stay.
Caught By A Cowboy is a small-town, cowboy, breeding romance and is a complete standalone
You can expect the following... 🟤HEA 🟤Alpha obsessed with breeding 🟤Pregnancy (not just in the epilogue) 🟤Small Town Vibes 🟤He Falls First And Hard 🟤Grumpy / Sunshine 🟤Over Protective Hero 🟤Plot Twists 🟤Dirty talking Hero 🟤Praise Kink
Do not take this book seriously, or you'll be disappointed and loosing some brain sells.
FMC is runaway bride (reason: she felt like the groom is not right for her) She is homeless, penniless with 0 skills in real life cuz she never worked a day. MMC a rancher in need of a housekeeper hires her on the spot despite knowing her nonexistent work experience or skills (reason: he felt something towards her)
You can expect: tons and tons of breeding kink, detailed pregnancy months and some weird drama (vigilantes, murder, not so well hidden secrets and stuff)

Holy Hotness, this was absolutely DELICIOUS, I ate it up so fast, Jace and Maddison were FIRE. I absolutely love books like this, Jace sets his sights on Maddison and makes it clear that she's it. The plot kept me glued throughout, the spice was on point. Check the triggers but this is definitely a must read.
Another gem from Lilah! Jace and Maddison were an absolute match made in heaven. I loved how Jace set his sights on Madi and made it clear she was the one. No unnecessary drama, just pure swoon-worthy dedication 💖
This book hit the spot for me because sometimes, you just want a low-angst read, and this delivered perfectly. It still had all my favorite tropes wrapped up beautifully, keeping me hooked from start to finish.
The pacing was on point, the plot kept things interesting, and the spice? so 🔥. I also loved the side characters. Now, I'm really hoping that this turns into a series because I’d love to know what will happen with Swayer, Riley, Isabel, and Jamie.
Let this be known that the only reason I read this book is to complete all this author's backlist. Lilah Raine can be a touch-and-go author for me. Sometimes, she wrote really good smutty book, sometimes... it was just eh. And so far, the ratio didn't favor me.
Anyway, this book is about a runaway bride, Maddison. Yup, your classic damsel-in-distress trope. She found herself in a small town of Clearwater Creek with a broken down car. There, she decided to start over and to do so, found a job in a ranch owned by our breeding-obsessed hero, Jace. No, that's not a spoiler. Raine's heroes are all breeding-obsessed manics, so if you don't like this trope, DO NOT ever pick her book up. One thing leads to others, they fucked.
Honestly, there was barely any plot in this one, so I struggled to you give you guys any heads up. There was something about killings and something about ranchers disputes but for the hell of it, it barely affected the damn book. I was just there for the smut guys.
The characters were fine, I guess. Nothing really stood out from them. I could barely remember anything about them now, a few days later after finishing the book. The chemistry was okay, I guess. She wrote better and crazier chemistry than this, so I know what her capacity for it and this one did disappoint me. If you wanna go the crazy route with the breeding and cowboy trope, why don't you just go all the way? I can handle crazier plot. Hell, with this type of smut, I NEED crazier plot.
All in all, it's a Hallmark movie plot with breeding smut. Fairly forgettable but there was some sweet moments. Just, maybe up the ante a little bit.
- Cowboy / Runaway bridge - Whirlwind romance - Small town - Everyone knows everyone’s business - He’s obsessed with getting her pregnant - Spice - He’s some sort of small town vigilante - Apparently he’s also a volunteer firefighter but I don’t know why that was mentioned as we never heard more about it - it felt like the plot of this book was just grasping at straws to include as many tropes as possible
As in true Liliah fashion this was TOP NOTCH!!! I couldn't put this book down! Bing read if I say so myself! Mads decided to leave her “situationship” and runs almost literally into Jace. Jace our sweet over the top ALPHA cowboy! He falls first obviously and decides that Mads is it! He will do anything to let her run from him.
What you can expect….. unexpected plot twists, spicy 🌶️ romance, and your very own Rip( for my Yellowstone fans) cowboy. You should expect to sit down and start and not get up until you’re done. Tropes: 🖤Small Town Vibes 🖤Br33d!ng Romance 🖤Cowboy 🖤Pregnancy (not just in the epilogue) 🖤Alpha OTT 🖤He falls first 🖤HEA
Pros can all be summed up with one name Jace. I loved Jace. I loved that Jace made his move immediately and did not bother with a condom. loved how protective he was over her
On the same note all cons can be wrapped up in one person Maddison.
She makes dumb reckless decisions she runs away from her fiancé she has been with 6 years and hours later has unprotected sec then next day thats ok because now she has decided to try to get pregnant. She literally just left her fiancé if she ends up pregnant it could be either guys. At the very least she needs to wait until she gets her period so she knows the baby isnt her ex fiances.
Then when her and her baby are at gunpoint the guy could have killed them she does not press charges. Maybe if it was just her at risk OK but her and her baby no not ok press charges.
damn🔥🔥 this cowboy is on a mission ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Maddison is a run away bride, who ends up in a small town looking for work. Jace hires her to be the “cook” on his ranch. She has never cooked a day in her life, or had a job, or really done anything for herself. She is from a well to do family, that expected her to marry for business. Then she ran. Jace is a rancher, his family has owned it for generations. He takes one look at Maddison, decide he wants her, and wants her to have his baby. ASAP. And they get to work😂 There is somewhat of a mystery in this book, it was not just smut. I liked the story and characters. Jace was a triple threat, sweet, possessive and domineering. I will take all three please. There is a a second book that the mystery bleeds into. . 🔥small town 🔥he falls first 🔥instalust 🔥breeding kink 🔥mystery storyline 🔥cowboy MMC
dude this was suprisingly enjoyable. i went in with the idea of this being a hateread, but like. i suspended my disbelief (which is no trouble for me i LOVE ridiculous absurd situations if the couple is cute as hell) and it turned into just like. a normal fucking story ! AND THE PLOT TWIST WITH HIS UNCLE? jaw dropped i have to give lilah raine her flowers. so like. overall net zero not incredible perfect but not bad by any means. jace is honestly better than half of the guys i read about, respectable, doting, and down BADDD, and mads was super sweet like. going in w low expectations is so beautiful bc damn i truly did not expect this to be a good healthy romance!!!
i was going to say id be fine w a breeding kink if it was jace sullivan's but honestly. no the fuck i wouldn't i dont want kids id get freaked the fuck out. but madison wasn't and that's all that matters.
Listen! This is obviously a quick and fun insta love story!
I read to cleanse my pallet and have a change! The breeding kink is off the chain in this one! Def read it but don’t be surprised that it’ll have some cringe elements!
I actually haven’t ever read romance that involved a cowboy so this was intriguing for me, I loved the storyline and the book was written well. I really thought the characters were written well and not annoying like they can be sometimes in some books. Smutty scenes were 10/10!!!! I finished the book in one sitting!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was already a fan of Lilah Raine's work.....and was waiting anxiously for Caught By A Cowboy. If over-the-top cowboys wanting to spread their seed are your jam....then you will love this one!
It was a hot, instalove story and the spicy scenes were......mmmmmm hmmmmmm. This story had a lot of my other favorite tropes, small town/dirty talk/over protective hero/he falls first....and they were good. It was just a really.......satisfying story. It was a quicker read than I would have wanted....I wanted it to last longer.
Aside from the heat and the cowboy spiciness, it was a romantic, swoony story....you could feel the love....the other plotlines seemed realistic and the outcomes were satisfying. Jace had some family drama and so did Madison.....and it was wrapped up nicely.
On a sidenote.....these tropes are my favorites but a lot of times, they come with really cheesy titles and covers.....not the case with Lilah Raine books. Chefs kiss!
The spice was spicing and I can't wait for more from Lilah Raine.
I haven’t read many cowboy romances, but I knew this one would be good with Author Lilah Raine’s name behind it. She checks all the boxes for me. Readers can expect “Caught by a Cowboy” to be fast-paced. Know that Jace is an all-in guy who goes full-on strong with that. Those familiar with the author's books know what I’m referring to: those who don’t and haven’t read her before need to read the TW/CWs.
TW/CWs aside, I zipped through “Caught by a Cowboy.” The pregnancy trope is at the front end and incorporated into the plot, which I liked. The steamy scenes were excellent, and there was enough of them. It didn’t take over the whole story. Jace has issues with his family, and Maddison has problems with hers; both are woven into the plot. “Caught by a Cowboy” was the perfect way to end my month of reads—it was great!
“Last night I realized I had no control over my life, and this morning I took it back.”
Turning up in a middle of nowhere town wearing your wedding dress is certainly going to raise a few eyebrows on locals faces. In nothing but her heels, looking like a hot mess and with a broken down car, Maddison is out of options and staring at the whisky shot like it has all the answers to her now screwed up life.
Running out of her wedding before she even made it down the aisle, Maddison knew that she had more than wedding jitters and now she finds herself in ClearWater Creek.
With her world in tatters, a tall roguish sun-kissed cowboy is the last person Maddison expected to change her day with an offer she can’t refuse right now. For the first time in her life Maddison will really learn what hard work is like, as she takes the cowboy job to help out on the ranch with the upkeep of the house and cooking for the bunk boys that work on the ranch.
However, Maddison can’t help but be roped in by this cowboy and all too soon they are rolling in the hay…with a new choice that could be everything that Maddison has always wanted.
“Careful, starin’ at a man like that will getcha in trouble.”
“What if, tonight, I’m looking for a little trouble?”
From the moment the sun rises and the moon creeps out, Jace Sullivan is working tirelessly on the ranch to keep his family's legality going. But, even he can’t do it all and when the help of seeing this broken down girl with fire in her eyes is seeking a job, Jace reluctantly brings her home.
It soon becomes apparent that Maddison is a princess, never knowing the first thing about cooking for these hungry cowboys and how much washing powder to put in either. On the other hand though there is something about her that is awakening this protective side within him and finds himself struggling to hold back from getting close to her.
Maddison may be taking a ride into the sunset…But, can she really run away from the perfect life she left behind without repercussions?
Jace will go to any lengths to protect his home, his family. However, something is stirring up trouble and past secrets are going to shatter deep roots…
“Promise you’re never gonna leave.”
“How about you make me that same promise, cowboy?”
Well…yeehaw! I’m definitely hanging up my hat and curling up with this new series, starting with this sexy cowboy and pretty stranded woman.
I love how we’re straight into Maddison rocking up in town, full wedding gown and nowhere to go. She has the whole helpless broke needing that kind hand vibe going and still has that feeling of empowerment within her. Making that big decision to take the reins of her own life for the first time and meeting the very dishy cowboy Jace.
Jace and Maddison have a great connection that does jump fast but works brilliantly for this storyline. They both feel that they need to be together, complimenting each other too which was fun to see throughout.
Of course, this story does have a dark edge you can feel and nothing is as it seems. I really enjoyed that element. It added more detail, made you want to see how things were going to unfold and see what the consequences would follow.
With the small town vibes bringing the wholesome family, funny antics between all the characters, friendships forming and a whole lot of rocking the bedposts…this made for a very enjoyable read!
Madison MacKenzie may have only been in my life for five goddamn minutes, but I already, I should be telling her to run.

This one... I'm going crazy with excitement that I just got a new couple to obsess over now and especially Jace freaking Sullivan... Wow... That man... His intensity... His passion... I bet you won't be able to resist his charms.
Start to end, I devoured this sizzling ride, I kid you not. Sometimes it's hard to connect with a couple who are instantly falling over each other like they have been soulmates forever, but that's what I felt made me addicted to this book because I really believe that Jace and Maddison are perfect together and what made it special is they instantly felt that connection.
Ahh... Right from the start, the CHEMISTRY IS INSANE. Also, be ready for lots and lots of hot and delectable spicy times with these two crazy people who had me smiling at times and at other times, had me giggling just to see them together.
Jace is a man who knows what he wants and is unapologetic and straightforward about it. He might come across as a simple rancher but he's so much more than that. He's a man who cares deeply and also is extremely protective about his woman.
What really shocked me was the hidden dark secret that Jace had and when that comes to light I was really shocked because the way the story was going I didn't see this twist coming.
Maddison is such a sweet girl and even though she's from a wealthy family yet when it comes time to hustle, I liked the fact that she was ready to learn and work hard for her job. Although her cooking attempts were good the results not so much and I loved how Jace was so protective about the fact that he didn't want his girl to be hurt or lest she might leave this job and leave him... Awww... That man... I tell you, is freaking obsessed with his mads. 🥹😍
There were also other turns that were truly shocking as they came out of left field and I loved the different layers we get to see in each character.
The community friendships were sweet and Heart-warming. Even though some ladies are a bit old fashioned in their opinions yet the common factor remained that they all came together always as a community to help each other out when needed.
I loved Maddison's friendship with Kendra, Isabel, the Mayor's young wife and Taylor and even the new sheriff, Riley.
I really wish Ms. Raine would give us more from this world as I'm so looking forward to more. Ahhh... I'm excited for Sawyer and Riley's book next with the Enemies-to-lovers vibes I'm getting from them.. Yes, please.
But I really really want to see Isabel get her book with her own different man too. I really liked that girl and would love to see her get her own happy story.
Clearwater Creek has dug it's claws in me and I'm excited to keep on coming back to this town more and meet all of them again and again. Absolutely loved loved this one.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
girl that was about to get married to her parents choice of a man realizes she knows absolutely nothing about the guy, ditches the guy, rolls into a small town, realizes she's never had an orgasim in her life, and starts a serious committed relationship within two days.
the male MMC actually seems written and narrated quite close to what a guy would say or think. this was a nice touch as he's a different personality completely.
my only thought is that this book seems to fall flat in the sense that while it is trying to meet certain tropes and themes (dubious consent, breeding, pregnancy from the beginning, rough guy that's sweet for the girl, touch her and dies vibes, etc), the rest around it doesnt hold up. It's feels forced. The chemistry isn't really chemistry, there's barely banter, and the sex scenes were a little lack luster and rushed. it's felt rushed since page one. However , the on page birth was sweet and it was a lot better closer to the end. This isn't a true smut book either.
lots of time skips & pauses which seem appropriate sometimes, and other times lazy "~". I feel like instead of all the time skips, the author could have created more meaningful moments to build the relationships up. There is very little build up or impact.
This story lands flat in the sense that it isn't captivating. It's taken me 4 days to read this. I have nothing to do and no responsibilities right now. it was released on a Friday. I just could not keep reading in one sitting, and I read at least 1 book a day (up to 800 pages), sometimes 2 (2 x ~400 pages). I didn't ruminate on the story, characters or content. I will definitely reread it in the future to see if I'm just in a book rut. But right now, I'm going to hold on to Lilah Raines classics like Bad Duke and others. I am looking forward to seeing Kendra's story and Sawyer's story. Maybe even Uncle Jamie or Grayson.
I found there was also the occaisional cute banter and the MMC is absolutely smitten.
