Rate this book
Chantel Edwards was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, the daughter of Atlanta's most prestigious pastor of the biggest megachurches. Her mother, the classy and sophisticated First Lady, has a checkered past that adds a touch of scandal to their picture-perfect family.

Despite Chantel's comfortable upbringing, she has a rebellious streak that leads her to the streets. Influenced by popular social media personalities, she adopts the alter ego Shawty, who takes her on a wild ride through different worlds that are more than she can handle.

While her father is busy preserving the sanctity of his sanctuary and the millions it generates, Shawty is causing chaos in the suburbs and hoods. Said Salaam's latest saga promises a thrilling journey as Shawty comes of age, blending drama, intrigue, and a touch of danger. Get ready for a rollercoaster ride through Chantel's double life as she navigates the fine line between privilege and rebellion.

Great Read

I've learned a long time ago. Just because you may not like how a story is written. Don't mean you should give an Author a bad review. This was actually a good read. What I wished would've happened is that Pastor Clarence would've came out being halfway decent. He wasn't worse off as a lot of Pastor's but I actually wanted to see him and First Lady Tamika win. Pastor Clarence had another side to him. Being in the position of power overpowered his common sense. I felt bad for how he did Chantel because Tamika should've handled their daughter when she stayed out all night. The night of the Prom and came home talking shyt the next morning being disrespectful and didn't come home in the dress she left with. Chantel was eighteen and started smelling herself. She allowed Social Media and those living outside of the Suburbs she grew up in to influence a persona Shawty but her father wasn't going for it. Chantel was in her rebellious stage and felt her father was a hypocrite. Especially after ear hustling and seeing certain things. With a name like Lady. It wasn't hard to figure out she was going to turn into a hoe. Lady was supposed to be Chantel best friend but she was a little envious. Plus Lady seems to be in competition and wanted the attention Chantel was getting. The attention Lady finally received wasn't good. It actually seems to open Pandora box. Pastor Clarence had a few wolves in sheep clothing in the Church. Julian being over Choir had a fetish for the young boy's and girls as well as Junior Pastor Quinton. The Church was a haven for Quinton to use the youth to escorts. Quinton is also plotting and I don't see any good coming from it. Pastor Samuel has a fetish as well. Pastor Clarence should've left Jackie marital issues alone. Trying to help her landed his ass in some trouble he might not be able to get out of. I really don't know what to think about First Lady Tamika. I understand she came from the hood and meeting Clarence saved her from poverty. I know she loved their daughter Chantel and it seems she loved Pastor Clarence. However I know she loved the lifestyle they live too. I see she started to see Clarence in a different light when he was arrested but as his wife. She still has his back when Pastor Samuel tried to have the Church turn their back on Clarence. Clarence have a lot of dirt on those in the Church but with the charge's he's facing and Quinton the devil lurking. Nothing may not work out in his favor

Bethlehem Baptist House was a house of anything but Godly. The daughter has split personally, the Pastor crazy ego, the First Lady getting it has she lives. This book was everything good I couldn’t stop turning the pages 😩 but it didn’t take this book for me to see the corrupt that happens in church houses. 😩

Rank pulpit!!!

The day they put card readers in the tithe and offering basket, I'll never return. I hope I'm not naive, and there are really churches and pastors and deacons out here like these. They are giving Reverend Cash a run for the money!!!! Loved it!!! Waiting on part 2.
