I love a good dark romance and this book did not disappoint at all. Smut level was a 3 for me.
You met Summer and follow her on escaping her horrible ex. She does make some very questionable choices on her journey though. She falls head over hills for detective Bhodi. (I did workout early on that he was indeed two/face but that made me love him more). Bhodi and his crew taking out evil people reminded me of a darker version of robin hood. Wish I knew abit more about axel ;).
Finishing part one you get left thinking well sh*t that all just went down and wanting to start part 2 right away.

Part two leaves you on edge and watching so much unfold. Everything becomes uncovered and starts to just happen. It's full of action. So many twists and turns happen you left guessing what massive thing is gunna happen next.
I love how all the female characters come together and become like a family to support each other through everything. In the end you see everyone getting justice and the ending both Summer and Bhodi deserved.
Also thank god they killed Harry and didn't let him off easy either. Well deserved death, great to see him beg like a little boy.

Overall I loved this book and was hooked the minute I started it. Had just enough smut to mix with the dark side of the book. All the characters are loveable and went well with the storyline. Would happily recommend to other dark romance readers. Look forward to anymore work from the author.

I devoured it in a day, I absaloutley loved Bhodi's and Summer's stroy, how they came together even though they were both broken.

I really hope the author does a book on Jimmy and Eva😉 I'd love to see her story and his come together 🤞

The plot was amazing, so many twists and turns. I never knew what was going to happen next. Two/face is hot as hell, and I was rooting for him the whole time. I am so glad it worked out in the end😉

This was a quick and easy read, however please check your triggers :)

If you love stalker, murder mysterys and a good plot then this book is for you :)

I received an ARC of The Sunny Sunshine Duet in exchange for an honest review.

This is a very fast paced, crime thriller slash dark romance - and I mean dark. Both the FMC and MMC come from a background of trauma and find a way to face it together, while solving the murder of her father and battling police corruption.

I understood Summer’s attraction to Bodhi but I felt there was a lack of chemistry between her and Two/Face before things started heating up for them too. Also, not sure why she would be so accepting of an aggressive stalker’s behaviour considering the situation she had just escaped but this is fiction so it’s ok!

It was nice to read a strong MMC who showed his vulnerable side a lot, and I imagine I’ll be seeing lots of his quotes on BookTok in the near future.

These are a quick, easy read and I jumped straight into Book 2 after that cliffhanger. Fans of Haunting Adeline will love this but please check trigger warnings before proceeding.

I reviewed parts 1 and 2 individually, but wanted to add a review for the entire duet too. This is the perfect book for those who love a bit of a love triangle with a twist, masked men, suspense, spice that will have you clutching your pearls and action. Not to mention an amazing FMC character development and a fast paced plot that will leave you saying OMG WTF. My feet were bouncing, I was gasping, shouting and crying

I could feel every ounce of emotion and anguish, especially at the start of part 2, my heart was aching!

I am totally in love with this duet and urge everyone to read it immediately 🖤🌻

Two/Face

From the beginning I was already obsessssed with this book. Any time I had a break during the day, I was sneaking away to read this.
I loved Summer, and whilst her reactions and decisions related to the mmcs might not have been the greatest when you think about it… I completely understand 😂
The plot twist with Bodhi and Two/Face was a touch predictable but that took none of enjoyment away from it and still managed to keep me second guessing myself after my initial guess.
As for Harry… no words can fully encapsulate my hatred for this vermin. If I could pull him out of this book just to sock him in the face, I would.
And don’t even get me started on THAT ENDING. Immediately started part two, no regards for my poor sleep schedule.


Summer/Time

Just as, if not more, addictive than part one. I’m a complete sucker for a corrupted system and people taking things into their own hands to get the justice owed to them. The tension, the back and forths, the twists and turns… *chefs kiss*. A constant page turner.
Bodhi and Two/Face only got better in this part, I love them and the way they love Summer so much. Summer’s push and pull at points was a bit irritating but can I blame her? No. I completely understand her frustrations. She doesn’t have the privilege of seeing into the other characters’ inner thoughts like we do.
As for the side characters… Axel and Jimmy, I’m sorry I didn’t pay enough attention to you in part one omg 🫣
And the way this group of characters were all intertwined because of one man who wanted to make the world an even slightly better place… I love a character who forever influences the narrative.

Overall, I really enjoyed this duet. The setting and character motivations were very refreshing compared to my recent reads. I hope to read more from this author in the future and will absolutely recommend this duet to fellow dark romance lovers!

Harry is a character I despised; Williams crafted him so well that I wanted to kick him in the balls! I found myself rooting for the female characters, with their development and slowly evolving friendship adding depth to the story.

I appreciated the MMC blend of vulnerability and protectiveness/obsessiveness. Although the "I love you's" came rather early, who am I to judge? They fell hard and fast and that's their story.

The cliffhanger at the end of part one made me realise how lucky I was to have the duet, as it allowed me to dive straight into the second book. I found book two even more enjoyable as it delves deeper into the characters and their connections. The smut did not disappoint! Williams knows how to write steamy scenes 🥵 –but just the right amount to be steamy without overshadowing the plot.

Overall, this is an excellent romantic suspense novel with the perfect balance of smut and plenty of plot twists to keep readers engaged until the very end. I highly recommend it!

Such a good book for lovers of dark romance! As always, check your triggers!

Part 1 - This first part of the duet sets up the story nicely for the action in part 2. It was slightly predictable but the twist threw me off at every turn! It kept me on my toes and kept me intrigued the whole way through, i didn’t want to put it down and flew through it so fast! Its a super easy read!

Part 2 - part 2 was my favourite! There were so many more twists and turns!! We received a deeper look into the characters and gained an understanding of why they are the way they are and it helped me fall in love with them all! The storyline all really falls into place during this part of the duet but it wasn’t predictable at all, i was constantly trying to scout out clues but still never guessed!!

The spice throughout both books was a 3-4 out of 5 in my opinion and was well written and not too over the top! It was perfectly sprinkled throughout the book!

Highly recommend for dark romance lovers who like a little gore as some of the scenes had me squirming😆

This is a great read if you love morally grey and slightly unhinged MCs. The plot was very interesting and kept me second guessing until the end.

I love all the soft elements Lucy added to the MMC's character. Often, morally grey MMCs are written in a way that they come across as cold and unfeeling but there were so many instances where Bodhi gets emotional and vulnerable.
I love Summer's character development through out the book and the way that the series ended is perfect.

My only critique would be that the climax wasn't climax-y enough. After the whole journey through out the book, I'd have though that the ending would be more dramatic. Don't get me wrong, it's satisfying but I'd expected a bit more flare.

This is such a page turner and I absolutely devoured this book.

This duet was intense.

Follows the FMC Summer who comes from a really dysfunctional family dynamic and has found herself in a really abusive relationship.
Her father dies and she sees that as her chance to escape… but does she ever really escape.

I don’t really wanna say anymore because wow this book is action packed! It’s intense, I was literally sat on the edge of my seat the majority of the way through this book & I loved it!

This book is two stories in one so I will be reviewing them separately.
I'd advise reading the trigger list before attempting these books. I personally rarely get triggered by books, I'm more of a triggered if I see it on TV but thought I would cover that first.

The author starts off very strongly introducing us to the FMC and letting us into her screwed up world. Within seconds of reading I found the character relatable thus forming a strong empathetic link with her. The author also hooks you in with mystery and intrigue so even though it starts off dark, you want to keep reading to know more. The FMC is a strong woman even if she doesn't always feel that way as she is so broken. This is something I related to strongly. Then we have one of the MMCs introduced, this adds even more curiousity and intrigue as you need to know what his backstory is and what the hell he is doing and what happens next. For those who love warped and twisted masked men then this one is definitely for you. I found it so difficult when having to put the book down as the author keeps you gripped as the story is never quiet for too long, there are so many twists and turns it makes you dizzy. You think you have figured it all out and then you get a twist that you don't see coming, this happens a lot throughout the book and it is such a rollercoaster ride that is so exhilarating to be on. Book 1 ends on such a nail biting cliffhanger. You are on edge and chomping at the bit to know what happens next....luckily book 2 is only a few pages away, I absolutely loved this as I didn't have to wait long for the answers I so badly needed. Book 2 goes straight in with the suspense and the waiting for answers....

The story carries straight on from where book 1 ends and it hits you with such a strong feeling of suspense. You feel so much empathy towards the characters that your heart feels like it is being squeezed in a vice waiting to find out what happens next. I love how the author depicts mental health throughout the two books, how it manifests differently in different people and how no 2 people react to trauma in the same way. There was a moment in this book where some information comes to light and in that moment I could not have connected to the FMC and more closely, I felt her pain and her anger and all the overwhelming emotions as I had those emotions too once in a similar situation. This made me shed silent tears for her as I know how hard it is to pull yourself out of the darkness in those moments. There is so much more raw vulnerability in this book, even more than the first and I am here for it. Growing up in an ab***ve household, reading about the 'guardian angels' in these books triggered memories of when I was a kid wishing there was someone like this that would just appear out of nowhere. It made me connect to the characters even more. There are again so many twists and turns and jaw dropping plot twists that keep you on your toes and keep you guessing and I love how not everything is so obvious and you have to work for the answers. Book one was action packed but this one was so much more, you need to read the first book to make sense of the second one but I think the second book was my favorite. To end the story, it is wrapped up so neatly and tied with a bow. It could not have had a better written ending. To wrap up this review, I will mention the spice, if you love spiciness and love dom vibes then this one is for you. Both books are filled with spice and it gets rather hot and steamy throughout the books. I'd say it is a 4/5 on the spice scale.

This book follows Summer as she takes a flight to New York after finding out her father has been murdered. She takes this opportunity to escape from her current life of violence and torment, and ends up torn between the two men that enter her life: Two/Face, a masked stalker who is always watching and will go to extreme measures to keep her safe, and Bhodi Grey, a detective working on her father’s case. Summer’s old life quickly catches up to her and secrets are unravelled, showing her family’s past is not what she thought it was.

I enjoyed watching Summer grow and develop as a character. She had a very difficult start and endured so much throughout the book, but she became stronger and even made some friends. I loved the way Summer and Bhodi supported each other, comforted one another when speaking about their upbringings and traumas. I also thought it was great to have a MMC who lets his walls down and allows himself to show emotion and feeling.

We are given plenty of details about the characters and their lives without veering away from the story and this really helped in keeping the pace and making the story flow, which made it so easy to read.

The events that unfolded throughout the story had me in a rollercoaster of emotions and I may have earned a few stares from my reactions when reading at the gym 👀 this was a real page turner and every time I put it down, I just wanted to get straight back to it.

And don’t even get me started on the cliffhanger at the end of Part 1: Two /Face. I am so glad I was able to read this as a duet, because I think I would have lost my head if I did not have the second book in my hands immediately! I went straight into Part 2 and loved it just as much as the first.

This is a real page turner, the twists were twisting and the spice was spicing! 🌶️

All in all, this was a great read with multiple POV’s and a Touch Her and 💀 Trope. Perfect for all of the Dark Romance readers out there.

I cannot wait to see what other books Lucy has in store 🖤

I devoured this book! I read Part One in the first day of reading, and I also went to work and out for dinner, that's how much I was glued to it in between 😅 I couldn't get enough!

It is a DARK romance, and I mean dark 🖤 if that is your thing, you'll love this!
The FMC goes through a lot, and there are so many twists & turns. She's a survivor and a fighter, and I love her! 🫶🏼
Is the MMC a beyond morally grey character that should scare you and someone who you'd avoid in real life? Absolutely. Do you love him and pray for a happy ending anyway? Abso-f*cking-lutely!❤️

There was always some drama, action, or twist happening to keep you hooked. It had great side characters that I also loved. It was really well written, and I love multiple POV 😁

This amazing two parter has had me hooked from start to finish.

We are following summer when she gets the untimely news her dad is dead she runs to New York to get his affairs in order and plan the funeral. Hot on her heels is her abusive fiancé, the police and a stranger in a mask.

As she dives deeper into her father’s life in New York she finds out everything is not what it’s supposed to be. People start dying around her, she falls in love with the policeman working her fathers case and the man in the mask is getting closer

This is a three person timeline with perspectives from three different characters. The writing was beautifully done and kept me hooked! The ending of part one had me on my toes I couldn’t wait to get home and find out what happened. I’m so glad it’s a two parter because I could not have waited
Part 2 was just as fast paced with more back story and even more drama. I loved seeing summers character change for the better.

The good news? It’s released TODAY and available on kindle unlimited

Honestly I love this book! The details Lucy writes really had me picturing every detail. Amazing plot and loved every second of the twists and turns hiding around every corner.
Part 1 follows Summer to New York after hearing of her father’s death. You meet many characters within the first few chapters of the book. I guessed one thing very early on but was still surprised when my suspicions were confirmed.
Part 2 had me gripped as soon as I could read again after a little slump, I haven’t put the book down, I just needed to know what was going to happen next.
Absolutely a must read and can’t wait to read more of Lucy’s work! Will definitely be recommending this book.

This is a complete duet, of stories that follow Summer, a young woman who is fleeing her abusive ex-fiance in Las Vegas, after learning of her fathers death all the way in New York, the story follows her as she navigates the tumultuous journey someone goes through after loosing a family member, she fights through the darkness and secrets that surround his death, after her ex-fiance turns up in New York, her life is changed once again.

On that journey, she meets a cop called Bohdi and a mysterious man called two/face who is part of a mafia, she falls in love with them both. Are they who they seem.

There are many twists in the story that had me on the edge of my seat. They had me shocked more times than I could count.

I never knew what was going to happen next, and I had to read more, I sped through this.

I love Bhodi and summers story, the way they came together despite all their brokenness and how their broken pieces came together as a whole.

Overall, it was a very well written duet. The story was done so well, with so much depth and emotion, I loved it and definitely recommend the read! And I can't wait for more from the author.

I absolutely loved this book! I didn’t want it to end! I couldn’t put it down! It had me gripped from the get go!

This is the first book I’ve read of L Williams and I absolutely LOVED IT!

I absolutely love the relationship between Brodie and Summer! 😍 they are just perfect for each other!

Brodie is a handsome chap, had a hard life experiencing things he shouldn't have but took things into his own hands.

Summer is sick a sweetheart, trying to run away from the monster, I'm glad she has a happier life!

I love how @lwilliams portrays the characters and their descriptions, just amazing!! The storyline was portrayed AMAZINGLY.

Omg the ending 🥹🥹🥹.

Part 1 - Two Face

We have Bhodi who is a Cop and a masked vigilante - we love masked men and he’s a killer cop but only kills bad people? We can absolutely accept it!

He knew what he wanted and went for it while being so protective and caring of Summer.

Summer was trying to mourn and was dragged into it by her ‘ex fiancé’ Harry - we don’t like Harry obviously but you will read why.

I enjoyed this as it gave me a bit of detective, bit spicy, masked men, mafia vibes and I was soooo here for it!

Part 2 - Summertime

This really lived up to expectations.
It had a good plot and story line to go along with the smut side of it also!

It kept you engaged waiting to find out what would happen next and the pieces to fall into place!

Wow wow wow!

My first ever ARC, thank you Lucy for letting me read your absolute masterpiece of a duet before it’s published.

Due to having such a busy schedule since having the book sent to me, I didn’t get it read in the time schedule I wanted but regardless of that this book was brilliant!

The MMC & FMC were perfect, I really don’t want to give any spoilers out but Summer & Bhodi are just wow. Their own background stories had me going through all the sad emotions but present day and what they were fighting through and fighter for has my emotions going round like a rollercoaster.

If you love a dark romance with a lot of twists, turns and you can handle your rollercoaster emotions. This book is for you!

Well done Lucy, I’ll definitely be recommending this book to others x

I wasn’t sure that I was going to like this book as I’m not massively into smut or spice. I was pleasantly surprised, and ended up loving it and devouring both books in a couple of days. I would describe it as a thriller with organised crime and a bit of kink. The storyline was amazing and the character development was spot on. I loved Summer and Bhodi, but all of the characters had depth and a back story.

I would recommend buying this book as a duology as it flows so easily from one book to the next. I visualised the book as a film throughout reading it. It would made an awesome adaptation for Netflix or the cinema as it has plenty of action, drama and cliffhangers.

Summer’s story is just incredibly heartbreakingly beautiful ❤️‍🩹. Summer had to battled through coming to terms with losing her father and trying to fight to become somewhat normal after the trauma she had endured from her abusive ex husband Harry. With the help of Defective Bhodi Grey, and also Two/Face a mysterious stalker who’s obsession with her and become one of her own to him. And now she’s fighting between who’s truly here to save her.
This had me completely on the edge of my seat at every moment! I’ve become completely obsessed over these characters and the bonds they all make throughout this duet is incredible. It’s powerful and truly heartwarming is so many ways. 🌻

I was very lucky to receive the arc for this duet!

I was really impressed with this book, considering the authors first published book.

We follow Bhodi and Summers' story. A love story that began with 2 broken souls. I absolutely loved their story in-between the crazy twist and turns.

We also have Two/Face who is sexy af in his dark mask and stalking tendencies. Touch her you die trope!

THE PLOT was great the lies, deciet, corruption, plot twist, murder mystery, trauma, lots of violence, and some delicious spice 😋
IF you like all of the above I definitely recommend giving this ago 👌👌

I loved this book it keep me hooked, I love the character development that happen with summer through out the two book and her relationship with the Love interest and how it develops. The plot thickens as you read more finding plot twist and many secrets are revealed . I like how Lucy got really in-depth with the characters allowing us to connect with them and learn about their pasts. It was very beautiful written and had a great flow. This book is definitely a dark romance with murder mysteries, obsession , stalker vibes, masked men. The smut is just great and spicy with Dom/Sub themes.
