This story was incredibly short, which makes sense as it is meant to act as a prequel to the Chicago Syndicate series (I think). However, this was briefly about the New York Syndicate and I can’t wait to see how it’s supposed to tie-in. Will the author be giving us a new series based in New York perhaps? Although we’re given the story of Cesare and Kinsey’s relationship through flashbacks, it was at once enlightening because it explained their connection and the years they stood strong together but it was also disappointing because I needed more of their present in order to believe in their future. I was unable to completely become invested in these characters and yet I would love the opportunity to see more of them. I guess what I’m trying to say is that there was enough here to make a full-length novel about these characters. The boss, Michael, suffered greatly and I’d love a story that concerns him dealing with his loss and finding his way through his grief.

Now I’m ready for what’s next from this author - The Lawyer and the Tramp, which comes out October 3, 2017.

5 Short but Power Stars
Wow Soraya!!

For just a Novella, she really knows how to pack a story with action love and total Mafia style scenarios.

Meeting Cesare you see he is your stereotypical Mafia man, but when you meet the spitfire Kinsey, she is not what I would expect. She is a strong woman yet a woman scorned by a man who she loved and she is hiding something. Of course these two know each other and of course they are ex lovers, but how and why are they here and why are they now meeting up again at this specific party when this specific event occurs. Can they fix what they once had? For it was once a beautiful love story.

This is a quick read that I fully recommend and I want to hear form about these two in future books!!!!!

FOR CESARE is a short story included in the MEN OF MAYHEM. I have followed and been a fan of Soraya Naomi since her first book FOR FALLON was release last year.

Her books are full of love, deceit, murder, suspense and lots of steamy sex. This short story was no different. It started out with a bang... literally! One flaw with a lot of short stories is that it jumps into the present and you don't get the back-story. FOR CESARE was written so that you get the back-story. It explains the history between the characters.

I have love every one of Soraya's previous mafia romance/suspense books and I loved this one as well!

This is my first book by Soraya Naomi, and it definitely won't be my last. I was extremely impressed and finished this short read in one sitting. I really enjoyed this packed novella about Cesare and Kinsey, as we see into their past and present of what happened between the two best friends turned lovers who after 5 years apart get a second chance.

This addictive short read gives you just a taste of the Syndicate world and Soraya Naomi succeeds in getting you hooked and wanting more. My love for these Italian men of the Syndicate just keeps getting better. Cesare and Kinsey's characters were beautifully written and brought out all the feels! I loved their chemistry, their pain and heartbreak, and that intense love they had for each other.

This novella starts with a bang right off the bat. Cesare stunned by the presence of Kinsey escorting one of his Captains to The Boss' wedding announcement party, after not seeing her for five years. In an instant all their feelings and memories of a lifetime together come roaring back to the both of them but also the pain they both endured. Now five years later, they're not the same people and the damage is already done.

This must read second chance romance is a standalone novella of the New York Syndicate. You will get sucked in to the Syndicate world and and will want to read this in one sitting like I did. Definitely a must 1click for me. Hopefully just like the Chicago Syndicate men that I love, we hear more from these gorgeous alpha males from New York!

This short novella left me with tears in my eyes. The story is mainly focused on Cesare and Kinsey and it’s a fact that they are soul mates. They have been in love with one another since they were kids. Their love started as a strong friendship and it grew more and more until one day they both realized that their life was actually meaningless if they weren’t together. So they fought against all the odds but at a certain point the adversities overcame their love and they both drifted apart. But fate has other plans for them and so they meet again under unpleasant circumstances and this time Cesare will do everything to keep her with him. “Do you believe in soul mates?” but mostly in a heartbreaking love? Don’t miss this book. I’m only sorry that it was so brief, I would have enjoyed more of them.

When Cesare reunites with his best friend and lost love Kinsley after five years, the under boss of the New York Syndicate is going to make good on the promises he broke to her all those years ago.
Soraya Naomi has captured my heart with her mob men and tantalizing storylines in the past, this hot fast paced, second chance mobbed up novella did not disappoint!
Full of action and detail- and of course wouldn't be one of this authors mob men without the Alpha'd extraordinaire with a side of sexy!
Just the right amount of everything!
Now I am looking forward to her next book even more!

I received this Advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review. I love mafia books. I was excited to hear about book because I loved the other books in this series. This was a very short story. I hadn't realized this was a novella. It went really fast but introduced us to mafia life. It went in a different direction then I was expecting. I wanted more depth to the characters. The flashbacks were nice but I needed more in the present. It still did not deter me from wanting to read more about these characters or this series.

I have read all of Soraya's books and loved them. You now can add this novella. This short story is filled with angst, murder, mystery, and of course love. They met when they were young and fell in love, were separated, and now have been brought together for another chance. Will their love be strong enough to overcome the obstacles? This was a quick story about the underboss of the New York Syndicate. After I had a mom brain moment and realized that we weren't in Chicago anymore then it all made sense to me. The story between Kinsey and Cesare was filled with friendship love and heartbreak. And a ending that was well worth it. I can't wait to read more from NYS.

Loved this book, I devoured it in a few hours. Cesare and Kinsey have loved each other since they were 12, a love that grew until they had to be separated. Soul mates or fate brought them together again. Read about their story from past and present it will not disappoint. This is my first time reading this author and it definitely won't be the last.

Let me first say that this was my first Soraya book I have read, and it was such an amazing series that I had to download every Chicago Syndicate book!! Definitely a newbie fan!! ❤️❤️❤️

I initially read this in the Men of Mayhem and was dying to get the finish product. This author heard my request and it's outstanding.

I have followed this author for many years and I have only one complaint about this story;  it's too damn short! I loved it! I simply loved it! I loved everything about it. This is the story of Cesare and Kinsey undying love for each other that grew from childhood. These two are great together with sparks bursting and lighting up the pages. There relationship went through many ups and down but they persevered and reunited their love... I would love to read about Michael and Rachel's story!!!!!

I have read all the syndicate novels and loved all of them. This time we get a look at the New York realm and we begin with Cesare. I really liked this story! It was written to be long enough to understand the journey these two characters had together without having it be a lengthy novel. The writing is great and Soraya never disappoints in her mafia driven world with as much darkness as well as light with the love the characters have for each other. Cesare and Kinsey were wonderful and I hope more comes of the New York side...even though I'm bias towards Chicago!!

I love the Chicago Syndicate series and although I'm not a fan of short stories, I loved this one, at no time do you feel that the story runs too fast or that you stumble and jump wanting to cover too much, it is a complete and fluid story that marks the same line of the others of the series, handled in a sublime way on the part of the author to give us a great story in a really short format.

The book tells the story of Cesare, Syndicate's underboss, and Kinsey, a girl from the wrong side of the city, a story told in two different epochs, a story of first love and second chances.

WOW! WOW! WOW! What a full packed novella! I loved this sweet, super sexy couple. Cesare and Kinsey become friends at 12 years old. Things change at 16 and take a turn when they are 22. Five years later their paths cross again. This story is full of emotion and true love. You don't feel like you are missing a thing for a short story. All I can say is read Soraya's books, they are amazing!!!

How someone can make me a part of a drug-run syndicate and root for them to reign triumphantly is saying something. I never thought I would love the mob! I absolutely loved this book!
For Cesare is a quick fast read. But it's packed full of action,sexiness and mafia wars!
Cesare and Kinsley have been friends from early childhood.
Their crush at the age of 12 turns into love. They are both infatuated and obsessed with one another.
Kinsley knows exactly who Cesare's family is and knows that one day he will join the mafia family.
When the both head off to different universities and now have a long distance relationship it puts a strain on them and their relationship. They can't work past the difficulties they are having and breakup.
Five years later the meet again.
The spark is still there and their love never went away.
But not all is as it seems.
Cesare has a mystery to figureout.
Kinsley is hiding a secret.
Plus they are in the middle of a mafia mini war!
Ms. Naomi is the queen of writing mafia romances!

Soraya never disappoints with her stories. I give this four stars, The story is great, the time line is a little quick, but it is a short novella I would love to have this be a full length novel so we could learn a bit more of Cesare.

This is a friends to lovers story but it has a twist to it. It has everything you love from Soraya. The only thing that I felt took away from giving this 5 stars is the back and forth from past to present.. it pulled me out, but once again I think it may have been because it is a novella so once you get into the story it switched.

Over all a great book. one click this set. I look forward to reading many more of the stories in this set.

I really read this in a day. I love fast and powerful reads. Kinsey a young girl that had Cesare taken right away. They began as friends and their friendship grew into a love that was so strong nothing could happen, but things happened. Being separated and college both changed them into someone that was different than before. They grew apart and went their separate ways. One day Kinsey happens to go to a party and sees Cesare again and things happen fast. His protectiveness takes over for her and tries to be there and make her understand what's going on. Great read. I'm going to have to read the series for sure.

Even if you have already ready some or all of this series, For Cesare is a glimpse into the past lives of the Syndicate's key players. Wow! Wow! Wow! What a short but amazing book. Soraya Naomi really gave us a full book wrapped in a small package, action, murder, mayhem, first love, second chance romance, all wrapped with a beautiful little bow for her readers. I'm glad I started this series with this novella, Cesare and Kinsey's story is a fantastic ride from start to finish, a ride I didn't want to get off of. This author just made me fan for life.
