In a small backwater town, not everything is as idyllic as it seems…
When a city commissioner disappears into thin air, former Detective John Kincaid is called in to investigate. When the man’s body surfaces, it doesn’t take long for Kincaid to understand there’s much more to the tiny Louisiana town of Plain Dealing than meets the eye.
Local police insist the death was merely accidental. Only Kincaid suspects something else–in fact, there might just be a serial killer hiding in plain sight.
With local P.D. intent on wrapping the case up, Kincaid must race against the clock to solve the crime before he’s transported to his next assignment and the trail goes cold forever.
In The Quiet Night is the riveting third installment of the John Kincaid Crime Thriller Series from Jack Dane, perfect for readers who love Michael Connelly, David Baldacci, James Patterson, and D.D. Black.
In this latest installment of the John Kincaid Crime Thriller series, the author continues to deliver an engaging narrative featuring Jack Dane, a former detective turned consultant. The unique premise of Jack being on work release from prison, complete with a tracking device for his past crimes (though he finds clever ways around it), adds an intriguing layer to the story. His resourcefulness in solving crimes is a testament to the author’s skill in creativity and character development. Overall, it's another compelling addition to the series that keeps readers invested.
This book was a nice change from my usual serial killer/psych thriller books that I read. I really enjoy this authors writing style and how easily his words pull you into the story. Kincaid is brought to a small town to investigate the death of a commisioner. The marshall says it is a closed case but evidence doesn't lead to accidental death. The investigation leads to more deaths that may be related and even Kincaids life could be on the line. I have read all of Jack Danes books and have never been disappointed.
I have recently retired And have found such joy To be able to read a book in just a couple of days instead of waiting Until I would get home from work. I am a lover of all psychological thrillers And mysteries and I am so glad I discovered jack Dane. I have read all of his books And I was just Very happy to find Such a Talented author And hopefully he continues writing
Such a great book it starts out like everything is going to go on bad in this town. Then John fights to get justice. The more they try to push him out the harder he fights. Its a great book.
I absolutely love this series and I pray we see more! The twists are innumerable, and I could not put it down. Happiness and sadness and shock, turned to anger aggravation and pride. Way to go on another awesome read!
One of my favourite books so far. First time I cried reading a book, which says a lot. I know this is listed as book 3 of 3…..but I REALLY hope there is more to come!
