I read this book in paperback. This is an unsolicited review.

This sweet little book of poetry makes my heart squeeze in my chest and sigh. Tears well up... oh to have poetry like written. It brings a longing, an ache, to be wanted in such a way. And that's what excellent poetry does, doesn't it? It makes you FEEL deeply. Whether it's joy or pain, longing or happiness, anger or peace. When a few short lines dig into your bones, slice open your heart, and comfort old scars... you know you've found a gem of a book.

Mr. Dring's style is raw and yet very nuanced. Every letter purposefully placed. Not a space wasted. I've read this book several times now. Each time, the ache comes back strongly. This is what love poetry should be. He is clearly an intelligent writer who makes it look easy when you know it's not while keeping each piece accessible and somehow relatable, even when you're not the subject.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Gorgeous short form poetry for lovers. The book is tiny and while I generally complain about books being too short, I can't with this one because even its petite size lends to the intimacy within. I'm swooning. 5/5 stars for a perfect book.
