He can’t trust his memories. She’s the only one he can trust at all.
Cash Baker wakes up drugged and restrained inside a secret military bunker, his memories fractured by a mission gone violently wrong. He doesn’t know what’s real, who betrayed him, or why powerful men are determined to keep him locked away. In a world built on lies, trust could be fatal.

The only familiar face is Sophia Rhodes—the woman who once owned his reckless heart and walked away before he destroyed hers. Now a respected psychologist, Sophia risks everything to uncover the truth behind Cash’s disappearance. Breaking into a high‑security facility is dangerous enough, but rescuing Cash is only the beginning. His mind has been tampered with, his memories manipulated, and the truth he carries could get them both killed.

As danger closes in and desire flares between them once more, Cash and Sophia must decide who to trust, what to believe, and whether love is strong enough to survive secrets buried this deep.

Rebecca York delivers heart‑pounding romantic suspense at its finest, blending emotional depth, high‑stakes danger, and irresistible chemistry. Trapped is a gripping story of fractured memories, fierce devotion, and a love strong enough to challenge even the most dangerous secrets.

Ruth Glick (born 1942) is a best-selling author of healthy cookbooks and has also written dozens of romantic suspense romance novels under the pen name Rebecca York.

Ruth earned a B.A. in American Thought and Civilization from George Washington University and an M.A. in American Studies from the University of Maryland. Although she always wanted to become a writer, Glick was convinced that her lack of spelling skills meant that her goal was unattainable. As a stay-at-home mother, she took a community college course to help her choose a career. The course made it very clear that writing was her primary interest. Glick began writing articles for newspapers and magazines, but after several years decided to try writing fiction. Her first book, a kids' science fiction book, was finally purchased by Scholastic Inc..

Since then, Glick has become a highly successful author of over 50 romantic suspense and paranormal novels. Many of her novels are published under the Harlequin Intrigue line, and in June 2003, she became one of the first authors published under Berkley's new Sensation imprint. Before 1997, she often collaborated with Eileen Buckholtz and Kathryn Jenson.

Glick also is a highly regarded author of cookbooks focusing on healthy eating. She sometimes hires trained chefs to test the recipes that she creates, and makes sure that every recipe is tested at least three times before it appears in one of her cookbooks.

Glick is the head of the Columbia Writers Workshop. She and her husband, Norman Glick, live in Columbia, Maryland, where Ruth collects rocks, and enjoys cooking, walking, reading, gardening, travel, and Mozart operas. They have two grown children, Elissa and Ethan, and two grandsons (Jesse and Leo).

Army Ranger, Cash Baker, has a problem. Well, several really. First, he seems to be trapped in a bunker. Second, he's got some pretty substantial injuries. Third, and most importantly, he has no idea how he got them or how he got there.. His memory of his past is gone, and all he's really able to recall tells him that whatever landed him in this position was really, really bad.

Enter psychologist and blast from Cash's past, Dr. Sophia Rhodes. She claims Cash is in danger. That she's been sent to rescue him. That she's working with an outfit known as Decorah Security to help him uncover the truth.

The question is: Can he trust her? And more can he trust himself around her?

I've enjoyed Ms. York's writing before, so when the opportunity arose for me to read this I jumped on it. It's a light, fun Romantic Suspense novel with a few interesting twists and turns. It's not really paranormal romance like some of the other books in this series, but there are some paranormal elements to this particularly later on.

Cash is a pretty alpha male character, but he's not a full alpha a-hole. Thank goodness. He does listen to Sophia and others and knows when he's out of his depth. I liked Sophia. She was a good character who wasn't TSTL and provided very solid advice and adapted well to a situation which was way outside of her depth.

While the book can stand on its own, it would likely be more enjoyable if you read several previous books in the series. Lots of characters show up from those books and it can be a little confusing if this is where you're jumping in.

Ultimately I liked this book, but I didn't love it.

Four stars.

Cash Baker is having a problem with his memory. Stuck in a bunker he has multiple flashes of missions going off in his head. Plus, someone telling him that they are in the Philippines underground because of the bird flu. Now enter Sophia Rhodes who is working for a security firm that is working on rescuing him. He remembers her but always felt less than, never smart enough.
Working at what is real and what is not when the time is right, he does make a break for it and it ends up being just Cash and Rhodes. While they are trying to survive, they are also working on their past. The story has plenty of action and you keep wondering who is the person that started everything. As they make their way back you are hoping that there is a future for the two of them together. This was a good book. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at

I like this author but I did not like I kinda got into this one really late in the game as far as the series went. Cash and Sophia give us this one with it being filled with alot of exhilarating action coupled with chemistry. Cash does have to find answers especially because of his situation. She will be his life line sorta speak but we are gonna stay right with Cash every step of the way. At times it was a bit hairy with the both of us on the edge. This is one that will suck you in and keep you maybe not letting go.

As always a Decorah Security book from Rebecca York never disappoints. It's another mind bending story where the military chain of command fails and Major Cash Baker winds up trapped in a bunker with a doctor trying to break his mind.

When you don't know what is real and what is implanted, who do you trust to get you out of the precarious situation you find yourself in? In steps the highschool girlfriend... Super plot.

High school lovers?

They had one wonderful night before he went to boot camp. Twenty years she came sneaking into his room. She wouldn't tell him anything except not to trust Dr. Montgomery.
The story starts in right away. You are setting on the edge of your seat. Normal breathing isn't possible.
Great story, great characters, steamy sex

Lovers Reunited

This was an extremely suspenseful story. Cash and Sophia are brought together when he becomes the victim of an illegal government mission. The plot keeps the reader on Edge until the very end of the story.

This started out intriguing but that soon wore off sadly. This book just goes through the motions, no real depth to the story and just left me feeling no emotion for the whole thing. Sad really, could have been a real page turner.

If you want a book that has you constantly guessing peoples motives and wondering what the true story is then grab this book! It had me turning pages to discover why Cash was where he was, how Sophia came to help him and what the motives of the enemy were. This book had everything I like in a romantic suspense novel - great relationship and tons of danger coming from multiple directions.

Cash wakes up in a bunker and knows his memories are missing and distorted. He’s not sure why he is where he is and how he got there. Sophia knew Cash years ago and has been called on to help rescue him. He’s not sure he can trust Sophia, but she’s his best bet to help discover his missing memories.

Cash awakens and can't recall where he is, who he's fighting for or even which side he is on! His poor memory has more holes than Swiss cheese!

Enter Sophia. She and Cash have a bit of history and it's up to her to try and fill in the gaps in his memories. It's been a long time since High School. Why is she here, wherever here is? Is she there to help him or cement a lie?

Another corker of a book in the long-running Decorah series. Littles dollops of PNR set in a strong Romantic Suspense storyline.
