With Will and Kat both back in town for the Christmas holidays, they strike up a romance. They’re both happy with each other, perhaps Will has some doubts with exposing Kat to his celebrity life but they’ll make it work. However, their parents aren’t at all thrilled and have more than a few misgivings. Cue sabotage and disagreements, Will and Kat’s love story is off to a shaky start.
I would have loved to have a bit more of a back story of their friendship just to lay a slightly more solid foundation to their Insta love and their parent’s falling out so easily.
A sweet Christmas romance set in New Zealand.
I was sent this book by the author and all opinions are my own.
I totally loved this novella length Christmas in NZ story from Author Trinity Wood. It beautifully covered the morphing of a past friendship into a new era of relationship where both Will de Jong and Kat Featherstone felt the excitement of attraction but had the doubt that undermined their individual self-assurance that being away from family and building a career had brought them. This is especially true for Will, as his parents treated him like the 17 year-old-boy who had left five years earlier, urging him to settle down and get a ‘real’ job!
I could almost see the shadow of a young boy surround him just wanting his parents to recognise his vast achievements and be proud for who he was now, not what they expected from him, and I felt so sad for him. A young man at the pinnacle of a career win, who was on his way towards attaining world-wide recognition – except where it mattered to him most. From those at home who should be unconditionally supporting him.
Likewise for Kat who had left her small New Zealand town and lived in the UK, gaining her University Degree. She wanted nothing more to branch out and explore the fashion talent she’d nurtured but had two branches of her family pulling her in opposite directions. Both options weighed heavy on her mind as neither were her original goal.
There is nothing like family, even well intentioned ones, to bring someone back to earth with a thump.
Ms Wood’s words provided all the feels tumbling from the proverbial pages at once. They’re lively, ironic, full of heavy familial expectation, and brimming with an emerging romantic tension between Will and Kat, which is then broken with a playful phrase. I also love that I hear Ms Wood’s storytelling voice embracing her adopted country of choice. Every bit a New Zealander.
It seemed like everything about their relationship would pull together A-OK but one phone call from Will’s manager back in the racing world reminded him of the reality and difficulty of his world that ripped the rug of happy out from under him.
Each had the weight of parental expectations on their shoulders and I wondered how they could come together for a common goal. And, someone else seemed intent on creating mischief between the family’s.
Such a great book where a lot happened in a seemingly short space of time. 5✰ ❃🏁💞
3.5/5⭐️ Will and Kat are childhood friends who have not been back to Queenstown, New Zealand for a while. With the Christmas break coming soon, both of them end up back in their hometown.
Will and Kat are interested to see how things go despite the huge distance between them, with Will based in Monaco and Kat in York. Their feuding parents also do not help and it is basically the world against them.
I wished we had more flashbacks of Will and Kat before they both went on different paths as it was a little difficult to understand how they jumped into this relationship after five years apart. It was also a little hard to understand how their parents ended up as enemies.
Overall, an enjoyable read with Christmas traditions thrown in. It was also interesting to read a story based in New Zealand.
If you love Christmas and friends to lovers look no further than Fast Track To Forever by Trinity Wood. This author is new to me but as I love the holiday season so as soon as I read the blurb for Will de Jong and Kat Featherstone’s journey I knew it was the read for me and I wasn’t disappointed. As soon as Will and Kat meet again sparks fly, problem is they both have interfering families that could either make or break them. Track to Forever is set in Queenstown, New Zealand and this author manages to transport you to this beautiful town with her descriptive writing. The writing is strong, the characters adorable and I now need to check out more from the very talented Trinity Wood’s. I highly recommend this magical read to all romance lovers.
Kat and Will are each other’s crush since they both were teenagers, but circumstances are making it difficult for them to be together. Kat would love to be a clothes designer. But she has a hard time with on the NZ side her parents, who are pushing her to take over the family business, and on the other side her aunt in the UK, who wants her to take over her shop so she can retire. Both sides are pulling on her to choose for them. Will is a F1 racer, who lives in Monaco but came home for Christmas. And then there’s also someone in their vicinity who is sabotaging them. Will their relationship stand a chance?
I really enjoyed this story. But I would have liked it better if Kat stood up more for herself. She's an adult after all. The ending was cute, and I liked the epilogue.
Fast Track To Forever is a friends to lovers romance story written by Trinity Woods, a new author for me. Tropes: childhood friends He fell first Friends to lovers Second Chance Christmas Holidays Meddling family This is Will de Jong, a sexy F1 champion driver & Kat Featherstone, a newly graduate fashion designer. They're childhood friends that haven't seen each other for several years and both of them are traveling to Queenstown, NZ to pass Christmas and New Year with families and friends. This is a fast pace story with lots of witty banter, awesome characters, humor, lots of childhood memories, meddling family members and miscommunication, lots of emotions and a lovely ending. I highly recommended!!
- Second chance - Miscommunication - Christmas romance
This book was a fast read (get it, because he's a race car driver...), but it was not light on content. I felt so bad for overly shy Will, who was desperately in love with Kat. He was so adorably tongue tied.
Will decides to go home for Christmas and is delightfully surprised to find that Kat has also come home for the holidays. After Will's brother lets it slip that Will has always liked Kat, the two decide to give in to their feelings.
However, neither of their families are happy about their relationship. Now Will and Kat have to decide if their love is strong enough to survive this feud.
This is Will and Kat’s journey. Will is a champion F1 driver, and Kat is an aspiring fashion designer with huge dreams, and these two were childhood friends, and they are both heading back to their hometown for Christmas. The sparks fly between these two, and bring into the mix a meddling aunt, feuding parents, and the fun begins. This is a well written story which has family, friendships, emotions, meddling, friends / lovers, emotions, conflict, undeniable chemistry, humor, witty banter, and rekindled love, and this leads to an entertaining, and fun, Christmas romance gem. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Great small town second chance romance! F1 setting is virtually non-existent, its a small town with the family and local drama that comes with two jetsetters who want more for life than moving home and working at the family business, and will stop at nothing to be together, despite the family challenges. Really enjoyed it, quick read. Low spice but romantic and very quick to fall (back) in love with one another.
Will is a famous champion Formula 1 driver. Kat is an aspiring fashion designer, fresh out of college. They were childhood friends. They meet again after being gone for years from their hometown of Queenstown, New Zealand. Will and Kat come home for Christmas. Will they both achieve their dreams or fall to other obligations?
Will and Kat meet 5 years after high school where an unrequited crush raged, and is rekindled. Some suspenseful situations threatening to keep them apart through their families. A modern twist on Romeo and Juliet. Very good book.
Great friends to lovers and second chance romance that takes place during the Christmas season in New Zealand. Fast paced with banter, wit and humor, emotions, chemistry, friends and family involvement, interactions, flashbacks, misunderstandings, and drama.
Trinity Wood Fast Track to Forever: A Friends to Lovers Christmas Romance Kat and Will Great friends to lovers and second chance, a fast paced romance that takes place during the Christmas season in New Zealand. With feuding parents, a meddling aunt and friends, this is a fun read.
Kat and Will are childhood friends that turn into much more. I like the interaction between them. The family dynamics throw a monkey wrench into things and it gets complicated. Good story.
Love this friends to lovers book. Also, I love how the families were friends as well. Overall, it was a great book with great characters and tons of drama.
Great quick read of Will and Kat - childhood friends but would they work as a couple better? Loved this story, Trinity - an author to keep an eye out on.
Will, a champion F1 driver and Kat, an aspiring fashion designer are childhood friends who haven't been back home to Queenstown, New Zealand for a while and both come back for Christmas and New Years.
I loved reading a book set in New Zealand. I highly recommend this.
This is nice and sweet but very short. I wish it was longer with more character and relationship development. Not bad just needed a bit more to get invested.
