Mindfulness meets a sketchpad in this step by step guide to both free form and structured drawings. A tutorial written in an easy to follow, easy to start format. Everything I needed to start drawing mandalas and make it a sustainable practice with real benefits. Thanks @QuatroBooksUS for providing the book for sparking calm and creativity.
I impulsively checked this out at the library because I had just gotten interested in mehndi designs, and now I'm obsessed with mandalas. This has inspired me to buy some art supplies and get creative. Her artwork provides great inspiration, her guidance on how to get started is very helpful, and she even goes a bit into the historical and cultural significance of the mandala. Possibly my favorite part is how this art form is a great tool for art therapy; it's accessible, easy to do, needs no experience, and is very soothing.
I recently got back into art journaling. Part of my practice involves drawing mandalas, only I really didn't like the mandalas I was drawing. Enter this beautiful book. From mandalas in nature, to basic motifs, to intricate designs, this author is your guide. I thought the inclusion of QR codes that link to videos and downloads was clever. Although I prefer a more wonky hand-drawn look versus precisely measured mandalas, her templates give you a tool for a more polished drawing with the least amount of hassle.
