Won a finished hardback copy via a Goodreads giveaway.

Really appreciate how this book encourages readers to be open to a romantic relationships, from not making snap judgments about people and compatibility to trying new approaches to finding a good fit. It’s filled with lots of sound advice and important reminders that are easy to forget when you’re in the midst of searching for someone. Loved the historical introduction, even if I wish it had been a little longer (per my personal preference for context!). The heartwork sections, MCM Pillars, and some of the other aspects of the book were a bit challenging for me, if only because they were sometimes so abstract. However, I see the value they bring and think they definitely added to the book. The dating self-care tips and other practical steps were super useful. Overall, a good read—one that folks will want to keep around to reference along their journey.

A very kind book, the kind self-talk you want to run in your head on repeat whenever you slide into "I am not ok". If I could only have one take away from the book it would be this: Date RAW. A guideline to follow when you’re looking for a significant relationship 1)ready, 2)able and 3)willing. All three are ideally present within both you and your love interest.

This book was pretty good overall. I especially liked the structure of the book, including the table of contents, footnotes on various pages, and the little assignments at the end of each chapter. I can see how people might benefit from the nuggets of advice that the author provides. Whether a person finds another individual to love or not, I'm pretty sure that everyone can find some areas of potential improvement.

I am grateful to have received a free copy of the book to evaluate through a Goodreads giveaway. Peace be with you. :-)
