Lightfoot's scholarly translation and commentary illuminate these foundational texts, making them accessible to modern readers and highlighting their enduring importance in the development of Christian doctrine and church organization. This work is an indispensable resource for anyone interested in the roots of Christian tradition and the history of the early Church.
This version of selected Church Fathers is very interesting, and I was not even aware of some of the books presented. As the writing is in King James English, it’s a bit less accessible than had it been translated into modern English. All in all, I’m glad I read the book.
