I pretended my boss was my fiance… And now he’s demanding marriage.
It was one little fake boyfriend while I was at a bar. I wouldn’t have even thought of my deliciously hot silver fox new Italian boss if he hadn’t been texting me about work on a Friday night, when I’m finally trying to lose my V-card.
Then my boss calls, and hears where I am.
And he’s feral.
He turns up at the bar, kisses me, and tells all my friends I’m his fiancee and the wedding is tomorrow.
OMG.
With an obsessed and protective mafia kingpin, Tall, Dark, and Grumpy will make you swoon and blush and giggle. A spicy age gap, instalove smutty romance with all the grumpy sunshine feels, and a bit of London mafia 'touch her and die'.
Evie Rose writes gleefully improbable bitesized instalove romances, with heroes who are all-in obsessed for their heroines.
She loves possessive alpha heroes, age gap, tons of spice, forced proximity, pining, and swoony romantic bits. She's the darker alter-ego of bestselling author Eve Pendle.
- age gap (40 H, 22 h) - he's her boss, she's an accountant - he's a mafia boss, she's just a normal person - insta love & lust on both sides - pushback until they both acknowledge that they love each other - he's a grump, she's a sweet one, always accepting every little demand he does as her boss, - V h, daddy vibes & breeding, spicy times, experienced H, but he was never in love, didn't get manhoho vibes - HEA, epilogue 5 years later, plus extra epilogue by email (it was 🥵, role play and breeding)
There was some push and pull on both sides. He really tried to just watch over her from afar and to let her live her life. Of course, that plan failed 😂.
There were some awkward scenes at the bar, not on my liking. Others might find them amusing, though 🫣. The drama with her apartment colleagues was also stupid. I'm so over this type of fake / artificial drama. But again, it might be entertaining for other readers 🤭.
They did fit as a couple, so their HEA is sweet and as expected.
I like the cover, an improvement compared with the author's other series. 👌

Why not a higher rating? Because, among other things, of this paragraph here:
"This girl… She’s been here alive, for what—twenty years maybe?—and I haven’t known her. I’ve lived forty fucking years missing out."
I'm still confused 🤨🤷♀️. He's 40, and she's 22. So, how did he live his entire life missing out on meeting her? Maybe the past 4 years, if he would have met when she was 18. Yeah, maybe the entire paragraph is a figure of speech!? Like he missed out for so many years not knowing what real love is 🤷♀️. Who knows.
Read 2: Still awesome, still hardcore second hand embarrassment.
Another great read in this series. I had hardcore second hand embarrassment for Cassie when Vito showed up to the club. And what was with her roommates. They were the worst. I think I liked the first couple better but this story had a bit more of a dark spot so extra points! A good read.
Hot DAYUMMMM, this was good! This author brings the heat!
This story flowed together flawlessly, the chemistry between the MCs was scorching, and I loved the sweet, innocent awkwardness of the heroine against the grumpy grim broodiness of the hero!
Just a great awesome read!!
Safe, hero not a manwhore, past isn’t really mentioned. Heroine is a virgin, belongs only to her hero and gives the gift of claiming all her firsts to her hero. No ow/om, no cheating or sharing or abuse. HEA with epilogue years out. Extended epilogue available thru signup
An age gap mafia romance. Evie Rose is becoming one of my favorites in this genre! Totally fun read with enough steam and some good humor! Cassie has such a huge crush on her boss- she describes him as her boyfriend. And Vito has kept his feelings for Cassie hidden til she has too many shots one night and is brave enough to text him. He has no problem taking advantage of the situation after that. A good mix of rom-com with just enough mafia danger!! Will be continuing all of the books in this universe.
There were some elements I didn't quite enjoy, like no mafia doings while the guys are mafia kings in London, the bitchy friends of the h who couldn't annoy me more even if they tried, or the fact that the h was so eager to be friends with those nasty two-faced hoes.
Yeah, i didn't like that part.
But the story was cute and i inhaled it in one go.
All in all, i loved it and despite the minor things i disliked imma give it 5 stars.
Now I have to wait patiently for Sev's story.
And I gotta say, he is my favourite from the Blackwood brothers.
So the best for last i guess.
But I dunno when it will be out and that makes me wanna cry... 😭😭
But I have other books from Evie Rose, so in the meantime will focus on those.
Carbon copy of book one. Sure a few details changed but the men were the exact same. I get that they're triplets but they don't all need to have the same kinks.
In chapter 2, Vito says that he wants to be her work daddy and nurture her but not once does the daddy kink exist. And apart from making sure she doesn't get back strain and making sure she eats pasta three days a week he literally shows no signs of caring for her?
Somehow both characters fall for each other even though she works for him for a month? Lust is not love.
I did find it a little weird when he was taking her virginity and set the phones on facetime before placing his phone under her so she could watch him do it??
Cassie is an accountant working for the very bossy, demanding, sexy Vito Blackwood. He is the youngest of the blackwood brothers who rule London. One Friday night instead of working late like she normally does, Cassie decides to go out with her flat mates (who by the way completely suck). While at the club she is abandoned by her "friends" and accosted by a man who cant take a hint, she texts Vito. Of course Vito turns up to the club looking to be the hero and Cassie introduces him as her boyfriend, her friends are shocked and in disbelief, Vito takes it one step further and claims to be her fiancé. He's been dreaming of having Cassie since she walked into that conference room, now is his chance to claim her and never let go.
This was a good quick read. Nothing special nothing bad just a meh read to finish out the month.
She wants a fake boyfriend to impress her friends and he just wants her. What follows is a fake dating novella straight from heaven. Chemistry, check! Seggy times, check! Grumpy/sunshine, check! And let us not forget that the Blackwood brothers know how to d!rty talk. (If you haven't read the first book in this series, please do.) I simply adored this book and look forward to reading it again and again! Thank you, Evie Rose, for blessing me with an ARC of this book!.

Cassie (h22) never expected her life to change so drastically when Vito (H40) took over the London mafia and the company she works for. As a junior assistant, she's suddenly promoted to head of finance by her grumpy, intimidating new boss, who despite his stern demeanor, is also secretly attracted to her too. On a night out with her housemates, a series of awkward texts and a dangerous situation at a bar bring Cassie and Vito closer together. Vito's protective instincts kick in and he comes to her rescue, pretending to be her fiancé and taking her back to his home where their professional boundaries blur as their personal feelings intensify. Caught between her growing feelings for Vito and the complexities of his mafia ties, Cassie plans to resign but Vito refuses, intent on making her his. Hot and steamy age gap, curvy girl, mafia romance, exploring unexpected love, the breaking down barriers, and finding happiness where you least expect it.
The blackwood triplets are back and this time it's Vito's turn. Vito had recently returned from Italy and taken control of part of the Mafia in Britain. During a meeting at his new company, he meets Cassie, and instantly falls for her. However he keeps himself away, until one night he receives a drunk text and goes to help her.
Can't wait for Sev's.

Fast read story and I like it! I just wonder what happens to the housemate, if elaborate abit more what our Vito did to them I will be so much more happy to see what they deserved.
No condom sex Breeding kink Praise kink Virgin Employee x boss
Cassie (22) and Vito's (40) story was really cute. She works for Vito Blackwood as an accountant and new head of the finance division and is totally in love with him. She still has her V Card because boys her age are just that, boys, and they do nothing for her.
On a night out with her so called "friends" and housemates, she winds up blurting out that she has a boyfriend and when they start to grill her on the details because they don't believe her, she describes Vito exactly. Some drunk texts later to the man in question and he shows up at the bar to rescue her. What follows is totally awkward and I wanted the floor to swallow me up too, I felt so bad for her. Luckily, once Vito clues in to what is going on, he uses this as his chance to claim the girl of his dreams and put her nasty friends in their places.
I LOVE that this is semi related to the London Maths Club (I will forever laugh at that name) they were one of my favourite groups of mafia men, if you have not read about them, go, now!
There was some push and pull from both of them until they gave into their feelings for each other and admitted they wanted it to be real. The chemistry between them was spicy and believable and the dirty talk was on point 🥵
Sweet HEA and epilogue five years out. I definitely recommend this book if you want a satisfying quick read. Thank you Evie Rose ❤️ I generously received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Tall, Dark, and Grumpy is a spicy grumpy/sunshine mafia fake dating romcom. Tall, Dark, and Grumpy follows the journey of Cassie and Vito. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this mafia romance, I found it to be an amazing addition to the mafia romance genre. Author Evie Rose did a phenomenal job with the way she wrote the storyline for Tall, Dark, and Grumpy. The way she developed the characters in such an in-depth manner completely had me captivated. Not only did this story have me captive, but I got hooked with the storyline and the outcome between Cassie and Vito. Also, Tall, Dark, and Grumpy by Evie Rose is the first book I have read from this author and I absolutely loved it! I would most certainly recommend this book to anyone looking for an amazingly well-written, entertaining and enjoyable mafia romance. I’m looking forward to reading more books written by Evie Rose.

Tall, Dark and Grumpy (Grumpy Bosses #2) by Evie Rose ⭐⭐⭐✨🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Standalone * Dual POV * Boss x Employee * Grumpy vs Sunshine * Billionaire * Mafia * Age Gap * Virgin FMC * Fake Dating * Breeding * 96 pages
This is book two of the Grumpy Bosses series. Each boss is named Mr. Blackwood, why, because they are triplets. Mafia kingpins of their own territories, single, possessive, and completely obsessed with one of their young employees.
Although it’s similar to book one, just with a slightly different setup, I still devoured it. I needed to know all the juicy details of this insta-love-to-breeding-and-marriage story.
This time we’ve got a mafia boss and his financial assistant, who quickly gets promoted to head of finance because, well… he secretly wants to give her the world.
One night, after a few drinks, she pretends to text her “boyfriend” to scare off a baby dolphin (yes — apparently that’s how one describes a smooth-chested, wet-haired 20-something). But instead, she accidentally texts him. And since he’s already in love, he rushes off to “save” her. Cue the fake dating fun!
Also, there’s a hilariously awkward scene involving some fancy colored, ribbed, and flavored condoms that made me cackle out loud and scare my cat. It was only lightly meant to be funny, but my humor? It enjoyed it immensely.
Now I know the next one will be about the final Blackwood triplet, another mafia boss falling into insta-love with an employee… and guess what? I’ll still be reading it, even if it’s super similar.
Tall, Dark and Grumpy by Evie Rose returns us to the very delicious world of her Blackwood Triplets & loosely-connected London Mafia Bosses Books. We have the sinfully-wicked §ėxƴ ägë-gäp, grumpy/sunshine, office, fake dating/fiancée romance of Cassie & Vito. 🥵🔥💋 My go-to faves to read & very much enjoy! Like all her stories, this one brings it all! Cassie & Vito balance each other perfectly. Evie writes these combos SO well! 🥰 I pretty much inhale her new books when they come out.
L💙VE, L🩵VE how Cassie explains her ideal man...aka her boss Vito Blackwood... 😏
"...I’m more of a bear girl. I like men who are big, slightly terrifying, six-foot-three, grizzly, dark-brown hair, blue eyes…"
(Same, Cassie... same. ❤️)
Que in all the swoon-worthy, insta-love, intense focus, protective & possessive vibes of Vito thinking about his amore mio dolce - Cassie...
"...There are pivot points in life. My first kill. Leaving London to go to Milan. First territory. First million. One billion. The day Miss Meadows walked into my boardroom and stole my heart ... I’ll be her work daddy. Whatever she needs. I’d also be her lover, her husband, her everything ... Whether she likes it or not, I’m going to nurture her. First, I’m going to find out everything about her, then, I’ll give her everything she’s ever wanted..."
...aaaaannnnddd Vito & Cassie's video call in their office will live rent free in my mind forever & ever & ever... 🥵🔥💋
Tall, Dark, and Grumpy, Book 2 of the Grumpy Bosses series, was about 40-year-old Vito Blackwood, an Esher mob boss (and the second oldest of the Blackwood triplet brothers), and 22-year-old Cassie Meadows, an accountant, newly promoted as head of the finance department in the company Vito owned.
Vito and Cassie met only one month before the book began. Vito had just returned to London and had recently taken over several businesses that had been owned by the previous kingpin he replaced. When it became apparent that the former head of finance in one of the companies was trying to cheat him out of money, he replaced the man with Cassie, who had been the junior assistant accounting clerk.
As with the first book in the series, this one was also devoid of angst, drama, storyline, or plot. It was also over before it began, so there was no time for character development or growth. Once again, the story took place in a matter of days before it came to a conclusion with an epilogue a few years later.
I gave this one a three-star rating as well, but it should probably be rounded down to two because it was seriously lacking more than Book 1. I will probably finish Book 3 at some point, but I need to take a break from reading material that lacks substance and find something with a bit more substance.
I can never resist Evie’s mafia romances because no matter how ruthless the mafia bosses in her books appear to be, they always falter adorably when confronted with the woman of their dreams. Vito is no exception. Strictly off-limits as one of his employees, not to mention their almost twenty-year age gap, he decides to merely watch and guide her from afar. But when she accidently texts him after drinking one too many shots, he doesn’t hesitate to run to her side. When he discovers that Cassie has inadvertently described him as her boyfriend, he sees an opportunity to have what he’s always desired. I couldn’t get the smile off my face as he claimed Cassie right in front of her b*tchy roommates, proclaiming himself her fiancé. Yay! I couldn’t stand their snide looks and the way they looked down at Cassie, so there was a sense of karma right there. There are some truly funny moments between socially awkward Cassie and her suave, experienced “fake” fiancé, with sparkling chemistry that makes for some pretty hot scenes. When Cassie asks Vito for one more favor, there’s no more doubt in his mind that this woman was meant to be his. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
He is her boss, she thinks he is gorgeous but will never notice a wallflower like her. He has been secretly in love with her for months, but won't act because he knows she is too young and his assistant. Then one night she texts him, drunk texts him from the bar, and she never initiates a text so he knows he has to go down and save her. When he arrives he finds out she told her "friends" that he was her boyfriend to keep them off her back, and he picks up the mantle seeing his opportunity. From there they both start to see each other with new eyes and decide just maybe it wasn't fake after all. This was pretty good with character development. You had a good sense of who each of them were and what they were thinking in the situation. It is a shorter story format, so while there was a little side drama, the focus stayed primarily on the romance. It was worth the read. The MMC is a triplet and his brothers both have their own stories in this series, they are referenced but it is not necessary to read to be able to enjoy this story.

Vito is a grumpy, hot, domineering mafia kingpin and Cassie is his smart yet naïve, kind, and full of sunshine employee. Vito and Cassie meet when he finds out his head of finance is cheating him, so he promotes Cassie to the position when he meets her. He is immediately smitten, and she is soon after. Cassie, in an effort to fit in with her roommates goes out with them to a bar, gets drunk, and drunk texts Vito. He comes to get her and that is when their romantic relationship begins.
The story has a great plot, is well-written, and full of complex characters. Vito is a bad man trying to be good despite being a part of the London Mafia syndicate. Cassie is hilarious as she tries to navigate her first relationship with Vito as her boss, and then as her fake boyfriend. Sev, one of Vito’s triplet brothers, is a hilarious supporting character. It is a deliciously forbidden romance because he is the boss and she the employee, steamy, age-gap of eighteen years, instalove romance full of humor. The book was a pleasure to read, and I definitely recommend it.

Tall, Dark and Grumpy is a standalone contemporary romance by Evie Rose, part of the Grumpy Bosses series.
This is a grumpy/sunshine, age gap, mafia romance that is somehow both sweet, endearing and has more than a couple funny moments. And while our mafia boss definitely has shades of grey and is open about his shady business, the story also has the vibe of a "fake dating the billionaire" kind of trope. I'm a total sucker for a fake dating the billionaire story and this did not disappoint me at all. I loved getting to know both the older mafia boss.
For all these reasons, I was interested in this book. I find mafia romances kind of hit and miss and I have to be in the mood for them, but I've enjoyed the author's previous works before, which gives me a sense of security. Although not directly related, this story exists in the world of Evie Rose's London Mafia as well, and fans of those stories will spot a number of easter eggs throughout the book.

5/5 She's temptation incarnate, and I'm done resisting.
TROPES: ~age gap ~boss x employee ~mafia ~grumpy x sunshine ~fake dating ~J/P hero ~he falls first
There's only one thing I want to achieve now: care for amore mio dulce. My forbidden girl.
Evie Rose is my absolute favorite novella author. And she did it again!! This book was incredible and made me feel all the feels! I especially loved Vito, the hero. He fell first and made it that much sweeter.
I have the world's most stupid crush on my demanding, grumpy, unreasonable, gorgeous boss.
This is a grumpy/sunshine, age gap, boss/employee, fake dating novella. I ate it UP! I felt so many emotions while reading this. It genuinely made me giggle and kick my feet. I wasn't expecting to laugh so much while reading this! But man oh man, it was spicy too. ;)
I won't breed you until you come for me.
SAFETY: Ages: 22h, 40H Virgin/celibate: virgin heroine, not a manwhore hero OM/OW drama: none at all Cheating/sharing: nope Kinks: breeding, mirror sex, praise, "good girl" HEA?: yes!! <3
Tall, Dark, and Grumpy is part of the Grumpy Bosses series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, fake dating, OTT, age-gap, grumpy-sunshine, opposites-attract, curvy virgin gets her Capo office romance with a bit of comedy thrown in. Cassie is a 22 year old smart and sassy, curvy accountant who is named the head of finance by her new boss after an issue with her old boss. Vito is a 40 year old hunky, grumpy, mafia kingpin and Cassie's new boss. When Vito sees Cassie for the first time, he is taken with the young, curvy beauty. She is just as smitten. When she drunk texts him from a bar one night after another patron is getting handsy, she texts Vito. He finds her, and when her "friends" try to embarrass her, she says Vito is her boyfriend, and he excitedly plays along, claiming he is her fiancé. Is this his chance to get the girl, or will Cassie run? I loved these two!! The banter was flirty and sexy. They had insane chemistry, and we got a very happy ending. Please tell me Sev has a story too!!! I loved it.

4.5 stars. Cassie, the female lead, was unexpectedly promoted when her boss failed to please his boss, Vito, the male lead. Cassie was shocked to find herself attracted to Vito, and Vito was disgruntled to find himself attracted to Cassie, but they’ve carried on working together.
When Cassie finds herself in a difficult social situation, she claims Vito as her boyfriend. Vito enthusiastically upgrades her to fiancée. Now he just needs to convince her that he really meant it and that he wants to keep her…
This short story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a funny, contemporary, mafia adjacent, boss/employee, grumpy/sunshine romance. I enjoyed Cassie’s surprise at how intensely Vito wanted her. I enjoyed Vito’s “handling” of inconveniences around him/them. I enjoyed the building intimacy and the fun the characters had with that. I’m looking forward to Vito’s brother’s story.

This was a fun, light-hearted Mafia book with a protective, posessive, and caring MMC. Vito rejoined his twin brothers (their idebtical triplets) back in the US hoping it would fill the 'empty' feeling he was having. While relocating failed, it was finding Cassie (a financial analyst for his new company) that had him realizing what he was missing. She's a relatively new college graduate who's got an eye for numbers, but not so much ease when it comes to socializing. Oh, and she's got a major crush on her new boss!
Seeing how these two deal with their all consuming feelings is, at times, comical. He's certain he's to old and damaged for her, while she knows he wouldn't be interested in a young, inexperienced girl like her. Find out if they ever arrive at an agreement (those are very opposing views after-all).
I received a gift copy of this book and volunteered my review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
Tall, Dark, and Grumpy is an age-gap romance. Vito Blackwood is one of three brothers, who are triplets. Vito is a handsome forty-year old and has taken over the mafia in London and several of the businesses, which need straightened out. Cassie Meadows is a Junior Assistant Accounting Clerk for his company. Cassie is a smart twenty-two year old young woman and he promotes her to the Head of Finance. Vito and Cassie are attracted to each other, but haven't crossed that line. Vito thinks he is too old for Cassie, but still wants to take care of her. Cassie would like for him to be more.
