A fun book that chronicles Jim Leyland managing the lowly Pittsburgh Pirates, a team that was going through financial woes during the 1992 season. The author describes what life is like as a major league manager through Leyland’s 1992 season, as he took the Pirates to the NLCS, eventually losing it in heartbreaking fashion.

It was a fun and easy read, and I learn a bit about an era of baseball I didn’t know much about.
