"Cry, cry the world is gone Bone and ash and splintered rune. Who will weep for all that's lost Beneath the broken moon?"
Five years after the Gods’ War shattered continents, boiled oceans, and ruined the skies, Addas Dashag - a half-breed outcast - is forced to guide an expedition of Dwarves, Men, and Orcs into a bitter and ravaged world.
Their destination - far to the west where a remnant of Elves is rumored to be hiding in the ashes of a once-great forest.
Battling cultists, cannibals, and creatures from other worlds, Addas leads the company across the wasteland as they scour old battlefields, sneak into cursed cities and magic-infested ruins searching for dark secrets lost in the war's final days.
Haunted by his own past, Addas navigates the danger and devastation only to come face to face with a deeper threat - one from within.
After all, who can you really trust when your own Gods have betrayed you?

_______________
A promising beginning to an epic series, Patrick Todoroff's BROKEN MOON—SCORNED LANDS builds a shattered world seeded with hints of something both greater and more familiar. - INDIEREADER
My interest in books started when I was nine, the year my baby brother shoved a pretzel down into the back of the television set and my parents didn't get it fixed.
My first novel, "Running Black" was a 'put up or shut up' project during the 2008 recession. The sequel "Shift Tense" rolled out two years later.
Other titles include the cyberpunk/technoir novella, 'Soul Cache'; a Celtic-flavored ghost story, 'The Barrow Lover'; three tales from the Exclusion Zone - 'A Prayer to Saint Strelok', 'Strange Treasure', and 'Gopnik Blues', and a handful of stand-alone near-future shorts.
As a table top war game designer, I've written 'Zona Alfa' and 'When Nightmares Come' for Osprey Wargames, several best selling indie games: 'Exploit Zero', its monster-hunting fantasy cousin, 'Nightwatch', and the alien-invasion 'Insurgent Earth.'
Current projects include the post-apocalyptic fantasy 'Shattered Worlds' duology, and a gritty dungeon crawl series, 'Shiver and Funk."
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I felt that everything was fleshed out well and I felt invested in the characters. I'm looking forward to reading the next one and learning more about the Unscathed and whether it exists. There were some formatting issues in the Kindle version I was reading, but nothing that made it difficult to read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I felt like it was a nice escape from reality while I was reading it! It’s a well-paced and easy read. I’ve already recommended a few people to get it and read it!
I received this book through a giveaway. Having not read Todoroff before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I enjoyed Todoroff’s character development, scene descriptions, and world building. While I found the spacing issues, grammatical errors, and inconsistent timeline (6 weeks or 6 months) in the early released Kindle version distracting, it was an enjoyable adventure and a quick read. I am looking forward to the next book.
I think there were some really cool elements to this story, but it just didn’t come together for me. I liked his new take on some of these beings, but it just didn’t pull me in enough. Still worth a read if this is the type of story you like.
I won this in a Goodreads giveaway. There was a lot to like about this book; the main character was interesting and the world building was good. It was a fun read!
