If the Bible could be distilled into one word, love would arguably take the top spot. On its face, love appears to be common ground among churches of all stripes—even a connecting point with the surrounding culture. Many of the answers would contain aspects of truth but without vital components of the love Scripture so richly describes. The church will remain deficient to the extent it’s unable to fully comprehend the vast depths of biblical love. If Christians within the church fail to understand and exercise love well, how can they demonstrate it to a culture that has cobbled together its own subjective, sensual definition? Chris Riserseeks to provide a concrete, comprehensive definition, so that we can practically love as God has commanded.
