Eruption I · The Scene Chronicles - A Fantasy Epic Exploring the Soul and Destiny
In a distant epoch, on a far-flung planet, the ancient planet of Kawa once thrived as the nucleus of cosmic civilisation. There, the Plumians, masters of soulcraft and crystal magic, flourished under the guidance of Elyon Farron, leading all beings towards prosperity and enlightenment. This peaceful epoch persisted for millions of years until a cataclysm shattered the civilisation of Kawa and its divine era, ushering in a new age for all beings and humankind.
Human-led civilisations flourished in the subsequent aeons of cosmic reconstruction, diversifying in strength and culture. In stark contrast, the once-sacred Kawa withered, teetering on oblivion.
Before the calamity, Farron prophesied that a chosen daughter would one day reignite the glory of the Plumians. Yet, this prophesied heir remained elusive until three thousand years post-cataclysm, when fatefully chosen maidens May and Ray arrived on the lost planet, embarking on a quest to rediscover ancient gods and themselves.
Across time, space, fate, and destiny—past, present, future and possibilities, two maidens, Elementalist and Soul Master, embarked on a quest shrouded in mystery. They delved into the essence of their planet, unravelling the dreams and souls. Their journey took them across the plateau, abyss, sea, and summit to unearth Kawa's origins and Farron's history. As they drew closer to the truth, the complexity of Farron's being unfolded—a genesis of miracles and catastrophes alike.
The power of deities can alter worlds, yet equally, it can destroy them. Caught between the ordinary and the transcendent, the maidens' wanderings compose a predestined anthem of existence and transcendence. Advancing in hesitation, refuting in reminiscence, they unveil the dusty annals of history and the scars of time.
On this voyage through Kawa, the Braves will probe the essence of divinity and humanity. And ultimately, they will confront the age-old, immortal question…
This book has interesting characters, one of which is searching for personal growth and another fueled by revenge. It has a well-balanced story pacing where it's super fast when there are scenes that are action-filled, and the scenes of the one that makes you reflect on the story mellow down, which gives the reader time to breathe and digest the story. The author's vivid description in the story easily transposes you to the battle scenes and solemn places like the Holy Tomb. It shows that the author uses contrasts on so many levels to influence the reader's imagination and creativity in visualizing the scenes. I am fond of the conversations between Ray and Elvera, which add mystery to the story.
“Eruption I: The Scene Chronicles” by B.C. Young takes readers on a journey that fuses mythology, cosmic exploration, and deeply personal character struggles into one compelling tale. Fans of science-based fantasy and layered storytelling full of lore will appreciate this intricately crafted and rich tale.
The setting takes place in the distant New Kawa Era, where the story begins with a haunting prologue of a girl named Farron crossing the threshold between life and death. As a blood moon rises, she goes on a fateful journey to conquer the forces that threaten the balance of the universe. Meanwhile, the narrative shifts to introduce the Renatus Plateau and the Plumatus tribe, whose leader, High Priestess Xena, must accept the inevitable planetary decline. As they prepare to evacuate the tribes, the fate of the Lost Planet depends on their survival, rebellion, and hope.
“Eruption I” showcases the strength of its atmospheric world-building. Young creates these vivid landscapes and blends cosmic wonder with grounded mythological themes. There are celestial scenes described in detail, as well as the grandeur of Kawa Cathedral, and the Plumians with their unique magic. This captures the imagination of its readers, inviting them into a world both ancient and futuristic. The opening prologue sets a somber yet beautiful tone, taking readers into this evocative scene that unfolds throughout the narrative.
Another highlight of this tale is the character development. Xena, the High Priestess, is a multifaceted character whose loyalty to her people conflicts with the inevitability of their exile. Her interactions with children, particularly Eldeen and Claire, showcase Young’s ability to write tender, heartfelt moments that humanize even the most mythical figures.
The pacing effectively balances introspective moments with action scenes. Readers get a glimpse inside a world of aerial battle scenes. There are dynamic and engaging moments where Farron’s mythical confrontations contrast with quieter moments of philosophical reflection.
The prose is richly descriptive, but there are instances where the heavy use of mythological references may feel overwhelming to readers unfamiliar with the genre. Perhaps the incorporation of gradual exposition or even a glossary would increase reader accessibility without taking away from the depth of the story. Additionally, some secondary characters could benefit from deeper arcs. For example, Doss Parsifal’s relationship with Jessica adds complexity to the plot, but a stronger focus on Jessica’s perspective may increase emotional resonance and give readers a chance to connect fully with her journey.
“Eruption I: The Scene Chronicles” is a beautifully written novel and B.C. Young’s talent for creating mythic, resonant worlds is on full display, offering readers a captivating experience. It will strongly appeal to readers who enjoy fantasy epics, intricate lore, and mythologically inspired narratives. Fans of Brandon Sanderson or Leigh Bardugo will find Young’s writing style particularly engaging. This book is suited for adult and young adult readers who appreciate thoughtful, immersive storytelling that explores universal themes like loss, destiny, and redemption. Readers who enjoy stories that survey the intersections of fate, mythology, and humanity will find “Eruption I” rewarding.
Eruption I: The Scene Chronicles opens with the world of Kawa on the brink of collapse. Once a legendary realm where Elyon Farron waged war against the Wings of Oblivion, Kawa is now fading, its star dimming, and its people, the long-lived Plumians, are abandoning their home. As they flee to distant lands, they leave behind a history rich in culture, yet hope lingers. A prophecy speaks of Farron’s return, heralded by the Wings of Salvation, whose chosen champion will rise, blade in hand, to save Kawa from its impending doom.
This book tackles profound themes—destiny, loss, rebirth, and power—woven into both the grand narrative and the characters' personal journeys. The philosophical reflections, such as Elwing’s meditations on life and death, alongside the metaphors surrounding the “Lost Planet” and “Lost Souls,” add depth to the unfolding action. Though the world is disintegrating, an undercurrent of hope persists, offering a stark contrast to the dark events. This balance between cosmic stakes and individual struggles was a highlight for me, drawing me into the tension of the story. The character development, however, left me somewhat divided. On one hand, characters like Xena and Elwing are compelling, their inner conflicts adding layers to their personas. Xena’s multifaceted role as a mother, leader, and burdened figure of destiny is particularly well-executed, and moments like her banishment of Elwing are emotionally charged, stirring genuine empathy. Yet, at times, the dialogue dips into melodrama, particularly when characters dwell on their fates. This heightened emotional weight occasionally feels overdone, making it harder to connect with the characters on a more grounded, human level. Where the book truly excels is in its world-building. The author’s descriptive writing vividly brings Kawa to life, from its grand temples and expansive vistas to its mythic battles. Each setting is painted with rich detail, immersing the reader in the epic scale of the world. This attention to the environment enhances the sense of a crumbling yet majestic realm on the edge of oblivion.
Eruption I: The Scene Chronicles will resonate with readers who appreciate epic fantasy worlds teeming with lore and intricate descriptions. If you enjoy delving into complex characters and exploring themes of fate and free will within a richly constructed setting, this book is a worthy addition to your reading list. It’s a slow burn, requiring patience, but for those who savor thoughtful, layered storytelling, it offers much to contemplate.
‘Why do I exist?’ – Fantasy and philosophy well blended!
Author B.C. Young is an artistic writer who very capably creates fictional universes and fantastical worlds. ERUPTION I is the initial volume of a projected series, and readers fascinated by imagination and exploration of possibilities of other realms will become followers of this fine author’s work.
The tone of this opening volume is suggested early on in the words of Xena – “Wings of Salvation met Wings of Oblivion; the decisive battle was about to commence. The starting point for Kawa civilization, the Hadean Era’s greatest epic, began. But before the story starts, you may already know what happened or, as newcomers, be confused, so let me tell you about it.” The children’s eyes widened, and their tender wings fluttered as they gathered around Xena.’ With richly detailed characters and artistically painted explorations of the cosmos, this book explores realms of the past with philosophical new ‘planets’ – an exploration of possibilities that become tenets for consideration of a history of the universe and the power of mythology!
More than just a brilliantly written metaphysical science fiction fantasy, this book invites introspection and an appreciation of philosophy that magnetizes! A highly successful opening for a fascinating series.

Unraveling Ancient Mysteries in a Vivid New Fantasy World...
"Eruption I: The Scene Chronicles" by B. C. Young is a grand fantasy epic set on the faraway planet Kawa. The plot revolves around May and Ray, two young ladies on a quest to discover the secrets of a vanished civilization and fulfill an ancient prophecy. Young's worldbuilding is rich, incorporating cosmic mythology, crystal magic, and philosophical concerns. The plot alternates between Kawa's rich past and the heroes' trip, gradually revealing the mysteries of the fallen Plumian society. While the book's scope is astounding, the sophisticated world-building and philosophical reflections can sometimes overwhelm character development and plot progression. Regardless, May and Ray are intriguing characters whose development propels the plot ahead. "Eruption I" is a thought-provoking and engaging experience for readers who love richly layered fantasy worlds with a spiritual bent, laying the groundwork for what looks to be a great series.
Eruption I: The Scene Chronicles, written by B.C. Young, is a captivating science fiction novel filled with suspense, intrigue, excitement, and drama. It’s a story that will appeal to readers who enjoy these elements, as the plot keeps you hooked from beginning to end.
In my personal opinion, the author’s main message is to remind us that everyone faces difficult moments in life—times of crisis and uncertainty. Through the unfolding story, the author takes us on a journey that gradually reveals the various paths life can take, illustrating how there is always a way to overcome adversity.
The book teaches us the importance of learning to fight through challenges, confronting our fears, navigating complex relationships, and making the right decisions. These choices can steer our lives in the right direction—or lead us astray. Ultimately, the novel emphasizes the importance of having a purpose in life.
This is an engaging read that will undoubtedly captivate anyone who picks it up
Wonderful, engaging, enjoyable, well developed, and thrilling are some of the many words that I would use to describe this amazing book. The author, B.C. Young, made the best combination of mystery and suspense full of personal drama and an interesting spiritual journey.
Throughout the reading of this book, I found a great writing style from the author, one who is very dynamic and diverse, with a fast-paced narrative that keeps readers captive and invested when reading. Also, the descriptions created vivid landscapes containing action, and tense sequences. On the other hand, the character development and creation were exceptional and outstanding, I really loved the main characters. The characters' background and perspective add depth and make the book a lot more engaging. Overall, this science fiction with a blend of action, intrigue, and a deep character exploration, could be very appealing for post apocalyptic, and disaster fans.
I expected a typical fantasy book when I started this reading, but to my surprise, I found an enormous depth in the plot. The author introduces philosophical approaches, such as the essence of being, through mythical figures and characters. These characters, through their storylines, represent key moments like internal conflicts and doubts within a purpose, forcing them to reflect and find their true path. Is it destiny that leads them to certain places, or are they themselves the architects of every step taken?
What I loved about the book is the powerful metaphor of the title, which is directly linked to a moment of transformation and movement, setting an end and, consequently, a beginning. Finally, I perceive a highly valuable takeaway, for example, understanding how good it is to stop and question our past to know if we are still the same people, and if the decisions we make align with who we are or who we want to be.
This book made Kawa feel alive. I wasn’t just reading names and facts. I was stepping into a world that moves on its own. The author shows how people live and make choices that have real consequences. It all fits together, and that pulled me in.
I love history, and this gave me that same feeling of discovery. I could picture moments of daily life in Kawa and feel the weight of the stories its people carry. The customs are not there just to sound cool. They shape what happens and set real limits. When someone breaks a rule, the change ripples out in a way that makes sense.
The writing lets your imagination do the work. Even short scenes help you understand how the world works without needing long explanations. I kept reading to understand one more piece of this place. By the end, I felt happy and ready for the next part of the saga. I truly want Kawa to be a real place.
An entertaining novel “Eruption” is the first book in the series called The Scene Chronicles. B.C. B. C. Young is the author of "Eruption I: The Scene Chronicles", a work that combines the genres of fantasy and science fiction. The plot is extremely captivating, where new worlds and planets converge and their inhabitants have to fight for their ideals. Furthermore, the plot flows very fluidly, making the reader enjoy each of the chapters from beginning to end. The main characters are very well described and drawn, each one has their personality that makes them unique. One of the things that surprised me the most about this reading is that the author has great talent when it comes to storytelling. The balance between scene description and dialogue is perfect. Additionally, the transition from chapter to chapter is smooth. I certainly recommend it for being an unusual book, with a great, original and fresh plot.
What an amazing book. This one is an epic fantasy that mixes wonderfully deep world building with philosophical exploration. Set on the ancient planet of Kawa, the story follows two prophesied women, May and Ray, on a journey to rediscover lost gods and the secrets of their civilization. Guided by their roles as Elementalist and Soul Master, the two embark on a quest that spans time, space, and the very essence of existence. Eruption I: The Scene Chronicles is a mesmerizing journey through time, myth, and cosmic destiny. Readers who enjoy deep lore and poetic storytelling will find this book thought-provoking and immersive. The worldbuilding is ambitious: Kawa’s rise and fall is painted with epic strokes, reminiscent of ancient legends and futuristic visions fused into one. At times, the prose feels dense, almost lyrical, demanding full attention. But for those who surrender to its rhythm, the reward is rich: a tale of legacy, duality, and spiritual awakening. The protagonists, May and Ray, are more than just heroines, they’re vessels of philosophical exploration. Some readers may crave faster pacing, but fans of metaphysical sci-fi and fantasy will appreciate this read. A bold, imaginative start to a saga with immense potential.
I Loved this book! B.C. Young wrote an amazing science fiction novel, and its narrative captures everyone who reads it. For me, I found it interesting how this book is not only about science fiction, but also about mythology, magic and philosophy. This magnificent text is set on a distant and very different planet. The story follows two maidens on their quest to rediscover the lost glory of their civilization.
Although at times the pacing feels a bit slow, you later understand that it is entirely necessary to understand the entire fabric of the story. The text raises some very interesting philosophical questions that lead the reader to question various things about nature, destiny and divinity; so, if you are a person who enjoys books that leave you with not only reflections but questions for life, this book is for you.

So, when two daughters come back, unexpected things start happening and it all leads to believe the prophecy might be real.
The story overall is interesting. It has a lot of interesting details and as a reader, you experience an immersive ride because of the details. I had a lot of fun reading this story and I believe fiction lovers will too!
The story develops in a scenario characterized by a civilization that went from an era of well-being and abundance to the reconstruction of its entire environment after a horrible calamity. The destiny of the Plumians depends on a few very interesting characters. It is a reading that requires a lot of attention because it has a complex construction but the plot is engaging and very entertaining. I think the author's imagination is as admirable as his writing abilities. I haven't read a story like this in a long time. I must say that at first, I didn't have high expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. This book has a lot of potential to continue the story, I would like to read more about it!
What a story! When it comes to fantasy and adventures, “Eruption” is a mesmerising novel that contains a bit of everything. It invites readers to travel to far away and undiscovered places thanks to the characters’ dialogues. Kawa is a distant and ancient place inhabited by the Plumians who are masters of soul craft and crystal magic. Its leader is Elyon Farron who guides beings into prosperity and wellness. Everything there is tranquil, until calamity appears and alters this beings’ lives. They start questioning about existence and life due to the situation. Eruption I: The Scene Chronicles was such an exciting read! The story starts calm but soon turns into something full of action, mystery, and emotions. BC Young creates a world that feels very real, even if it’s full of chaos and danger. I could almost imagine myself standing in the middle of it all, feeling the heat and confusion. One night I read a few chapters before bed and couldn’t stop thinking about what would happen next. I really liked how the characters change through the story, learning to trust and survive together. It reminded me a bit of how my friends and I had to stay strong during a hard time once. The book made me feel both nervous and inspired. I can’t wait to read the next part.
Eruption is a book that transports the reader to a new reality, a fantasy book that, in the end, asks the questions we have been asking since the beginning of time. May and Ray arrive on the devastated planet of an elder civilization to rediscover the ancient ways, but the power they are about to discover can bring both harmony and destruction.
It was an interesting novel, in parts resembling Star Wars, with a fantastic world filled with uncertainty and mysteries. The author increases the intensity over the pages, keeping the suspense intact from page one. A recommended book for lovers of the sci-fi genre, easy to read but hard to forget.
This is one of the best science fiction books I have ever read. It immerses the reader in an incredible story that takes place outside of the human planet earth. In my opinion, one of the biggest challenges science fiction novels have is to captivate the reader into the story through easy narration with simple language. Young solves this challenge in a brilliant way. This book is highly recommended for anyone who wants to escape from the daily grind. The narrative is great, as it was really easy to imagine the scenes and characters of the story, that helped me to get hooked very easily with the book.
I enjoyed very much reading Eruption I. With this epic fantasy novel, I was immersed in a fantastic world. Along the pages, I was taken to a faraway planet called Kawa that was once the center of the universe and all civilization. The whole plot is fascinating; the world created by the author is breathtaking and the details he added to each scene is wonderful. I quite enjoyed the development of the characters as well and the twists and turns the plot takes. The pace of this adventure gave me the opportunity to follow each storyline perfectly. I like the writing style of the author very much and how he progresses the narrative along the pages. I will recommend it for sure.
I enjoyed a lot reading this amazing sci-fi book. I’m starting to be a huge fan of these type of narratives and this one wrapped me up since the beginning. The way the author immerses the reader into Kawa, the planet where the story takes place, and also into the main characters May and Ray, makes the reader feel part of the story and have fun reading it. Besides being a very entertaining story and a masterpiece for science fiction lovers, B.C Young would wrap the reader with some analogies that would leave them thinking about their own life experiences. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to have a great time reading.
"Eruption I: The Scene Chronicles" by B. C. Young is a beautifully written fantasy epic that dives deep into the nature of existence. The story is gripping and filled with rich detail. I loved how the book explores not only the physical journey but also the spiritual one. The world-building is fantastic, and the concept of soulcraft and crystal magic feels original and well-thought-out. It’s a must-read for those who like exploring the soul and destiny.
A very interesting book about gods and planets, where you will read a unique adventure that will always keep you entertained and wanting to know more. I loved the narrative of the book, it makes you believe that you are in a real story, when it is 100% fantasy. I even doubted if it had something to do with our ancestors. The characters in this book are very complete and add complexity to the reading, making it even more interesting. I highly recommend this reading, because besides being very entertaining, it contains in its pages a very important and significant message about the soul and destiny, which are two topics that for me are very complex and I love them.
B. C. Young’s book is an epic fantasy with incredible world-building. I think the lore of soulcraft and crystal magic adds a unique twist that sets this book apart from other fantasy novels. In my opinion, the characters are well-developed, and their quest to uncover the truth about Kawa’s lost history kept me engaged. I appreciated the dual journey of self-discovery and saving their world. However, the story can feel a bit dense at times, with so much information about the world’s past and the complexities of its magic system. But once you get into it, it’s a rewarding read. Overall, this book is perfect for fans of high fantasy who love detailed world-building and complex plots.
"Eruption I: The Scene Chronicles" offers a unique take on the fantasy genre. The author blends action, adventure, and philosophy into a story that challenges readers to think about life and purpose. This is a great read for anyone who enjoys fantasy with a deeper, thought-provoking layer.
Eruption I is a book full of fantasy and magic, where the main characters are Ray and May, two young people who live a series of adventures to find an extinct civilization.
