I missed this world so much. It is unhinged, uncontrolled, pure and utter chaos and I loved every single minute of it.
We come back to Lux and Indie and Johnny (who I already know will live rent free in my head for the upcoming future). This book is the best kind of messed up and chaos and I could not love it more.
This was dark dark but it is its own world that you have to read to experience - I can equate it to AHS: Freak Show all the time if it was darker and smuttier (which didn't we all want at the end of the day).
Dark desires come to play as we come back to this wicked circus and I did not want to leave 🖤

Sue me, but I liked the first book so much better. This one had almost zero plot, it was all smut and horror elements which is fine, I just personally need more to fully engage with a book.

I found myself rolling my eyes at some of Lux's lines, which didn't happen in À La Folie, so it's safe to say I'm disappointed! Johnny ended up being more entertaining, although his chapters were by far the sickest/darkest.

I feel like Maison De Fous also upped the ridiculous factor, like that bit near the end with the customers in masks and black robes...very silly, but I don't think this book takes itself very seriously anyway.

I'll still read book three, hopefully it'll have just a tiny bit of plot, I'm not asking for much, I swear.

It was dark, sick and unhinged.
I'm here for the atmosphere. Not so many psycho circus books. But I liked the first book more, it has some plot, while the 2nd book is just smut and gore. And most scenes were disgusting.

That was definitely disturbing and spicy and I loved it 😅. The story is pitch black and has very dark topics, so before you read it, be 💯 sure.
Every character is unhinged in a different kinda way and they really complete each other in their madness. I loved that we see Johnny’s POV besides Indie and Lux (love them together). And I liked to see the difference between Indie from À La Folie and this book. She’s becoming a true Dark Queen.
Can’t wait to read more about them in the 3rd and final book “Ma Petite Mort” in the Cirque Du Désir universe 🤭.

This story captivated me from the first sentence of this book, and I could not put it down. I had to pace myself, so I didn't finish it too fast, but I failed at that, lol.

Lux and Indie did not disappoint either my gosh.

This Cirque Du Desir event brought out all the demons in everyone. They made sure every desire of everyone who attended was met.

You never know what's going to happen when you get your ticket stamped, will it be desire... or will it be death? No one knows!

With Halloween approaching, I have something perfect for my dark, loving friends. With this one, you should definitely check TW because it's not going to be for everyone. If you read À La Folie, then you can imagine what to expect here, but multiple it by 10, lol
This is a dark, twisted story. Some might even say sick, but if you like to push the boundaries, then this is something for you.

We had a treat of seeing things from Johnny's pov. Don't get me wrong, I'm obsessed with Lux, but Johnny is my boy lol, and he didn't disappoint. His character is intense and rotten to the bones, but I wouldn't have him any other way. The scenes with him, Lux and Indie, were 🔥

Now the king and his queen of chaos. They are what the nightmares are made of. Within all the craziness, you can still see the love and adoration they have for each other.

Oh my goodness, what a fantastic read! This was the perfect dark and twisted read I needed before Halloween. I was so excited to dive back into these characters and their circus and I was not disappointed! Not many things can get me to cringe but Nova was able to do it with this one - looking at you jagged bone! I really enjoyed the further development of Lux and Iris's relationship as well the addition of Johnny to the story even more. The ending definitely leaves things open for more and I absolutely cannot wait!

Nova was worried about this being too dark, ma'am this was perfect. I'm so happy we got more of Lux, Indie, and especially Johnny's dark and depraved minds.
Cirque Du Désir is exactly what I needed right now. And adding in Bjorn and Giselle definitely brought more depravity.
This was definitely a wild ride. Fast paced, full of action. There many parts that had me raising my eyebrows, but also multiple parts that made me chuckle.
I can't wait to get the physically copy of this so display on my shelf with A Là Folie and reread it a million times over.

cirque du desir in this book is A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL ! the different cirkies and kinks/plays they performed were absolutely mind blowing. i love how detailed it all was and especially for a novella. it was just so perfect 🤩

lux and indie’s relationship only grew that much more. i loved seeing indie and how she became such a bad bitch, A DARK QUEEN ! i fell in love with her in a la folie and to see her confidence and love for herself grow that much more in this was just beautiful. DADDY LUX ✋🏼😫 this man is just as obsessed with indie, as he should. he literally has me frothing at the mouth and i can’t get enough of him.

but johnny … BIG DADDY JOHNNY !?! ugh i love him and all his crazy 🥰 does that make me a psychopath bc i would gladly let him do all this out of pocket shit to me? probably… do i care ? absolutely NOT. ugh he’s so yummy. he’s so fine. he’s so HIM. i need more of him. i loved seeing how his friendship with indie turned to be as well. him calling her the perfect good queen had me PINING !

i’m so happy to be back to this circus. i missed it so much 😭 the way i wish to be there is so concerning but like leave me alone. nova’s writing always has me in the biggest chokehold and i always feel like im a character in the story.

I’m big bummed! I love a haunted circus vibe and especially one involving crazy smut cause I love crazy smut obviously. The writing in here just didn’t really make any sense and the characters felt so impersonal. Like not at all like the character they were in the first book. All of them got on my nerves. The smut was pretty bleh. It was not giving and This wasn’t very scary to me at all. Indie got on my nerves. I don’t care if time has passed at least build her character and her relationship with lux more. Also her like having this best friends her whole like and not giving a fuck about them? That rubbed me the wrong way. The whole Johnny storyline was bleh. Had potential but wasn’t executed correctly. I think everything happening in the tent was poorly described and skimmed over too quickly. There is a lot of potential here. She came up with some fun ideas and the spiders intrigued me. Johnnys scene with the baby man was honestly hot ahha. His relationship with Lux and indie makes no sense and especially lux being like whatever ahah? Also them pretending to care about their dead crew when thought the first and second book they talk about not giving a fuck if they do or literally R wording them. Idk this was a mess. Wasn’t scary, smut was boring, characters felt like the were not the same as they were in the first and this was supposed to be this crazy planned night and it felt like the author was just throwing as much random shit as she could on the page. Idk if I’m going to read the next. IM BUMMED. I loved the idea the idea is so my vibe. There was some dark depraved shit and that was fun but yeah that’s about it. And we just glossed over the dad shit??? Like ugh so much potential babe

But, I felt the author has repeated the same line again and again about how this night is going to be crazy and all. Once or twice was fine, but I guess the author repeated the same thing in 2 chapters.

This book was an absolute madhouse. I loved seeing the character development between the first and second book and they couldn’t be more interesting than they are now. I loved the bonus chapter from Johnny’s POV and I truly hope the third book will be about him. He deserves more of a background story than he has now.

The reason for not giving this book 5 starts is because some scenes could’ve lasted longer. At least, I wish they had. Especially the one where Indie goes to the bar alone. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’ll just leave the scene to that.

The story and the evolution of the circus was as interesting as it could be. Kane made the second book a lot more dark and intense than the first one and I feel like it’s a smart step. If A La Folie was too dark for you, I wouldn’t recommend this one. Maison De Fous includes a lot more sexual freedom, death and fights. This book isn’t for the ones with a weak stomach.

Nova isn’t kidding here. The depravity reached another level and I was here for it. Indie has become such a badass and her relationship with Lux was cute. Johnny though. Johnny. He stole the show. I can’t wait for his book. The bonus chapter left me desperate for more.

Maison de Fous was deliciously depraved and such a treat. I would’ve liked for some words to not be that used, but it didn’t diminish the dark weight of the story. Check your trigger warnings though and make sure to have read À La Folie beforehand.

OH. MY. GOSH. This was easily my favorite read of 2024. This book was AMAZING. I was hooked from the first chapter. I didn’t think we could top A La Folie. But we surpassed it. I am left questioning my morals and sanity but this book was delicious! I can’t wait to see more from Johnny. 🖤

Honestly this was so much fun yet so horrific at the same time, pushing the boundaries of horror and spice in a way that makes it impossible to look away! The characters are so unhinged yet so loveable. This is not for everyone, it has so many triggers/items on the shopping list that they could fill a book themselves but I was here for it!

Don’t read it if you are under the age of 18 it’s for your own good. This book IS NOT a romance book IT’S an erotic horror.

I was one of the few lucky ones to be chosen to read this masterpiece created by Nova Kane herself. “Maison De Fous” is everything from unhinged to psychotic. When I say I loved this book I’m not joking. I devoured this book just like i did with “À la foile”. All the charecters and everything is perfectly written, the way she gets he hooked with her books is something else and I hope we are getting a third book for this twisted unhinged series.
