Max's Mission

Rate this book
Margot thought she was past the nightmares and unanswered questions.

Fourteen months ago, her husband disappeared with little more than signed divorce papers on the kitchen counter, his car still in the garage.

Since then, she’s rebuilt a life for herself and their young twin daughters with the help of her best friend, Annabeth, and the motley crew of people she calls family. That includes the sweet, funny, hotter-than-the-sun Max Carson. Her daughters adore him, and truth be told, Margot does too. A piece of her wants more than friendship with him, except she’s sour on love. Risking her heart and the fate of her little family on a man again sounds worse than death.

But one morning, a phone call about her ex blows apart the carefully constructed world she’d created. Having Max by her side and in her heart may be the only way she survives.

Max Carson, along with his teammates, have been supporting Dr. Margot Gaultier and her twins, Emily and Lily, since her husband left. A brief note and signed divorce papers were all that Tad Gaultier left her. Moving on has been challenging, but with Max and her friends Annabeth and Dean she has begun to get back into a routine. Her new normal is shattered with one phone call from a detective. He believes that they have found Tad’s body and requests that she come to go through his belongings. Max insists on accompanying her and she is exceedingly grateful for his company, especially when they arrive and are met by the FBI. What exactly was Tad involved in and is she and her children in danger? Luckily, their friend Asher is providing them with intel and keeping them one step ahead of law enforcement. Spending this time together, they are no longer able to ignore the attraction between them. More shocks are to come as Tad left her a safety deposit key and a ledger…where will this all end? The mention of former characters added to the family feeling of this story and series. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Max and Margot

In the final installment of the Wagner Brigade, we find Margot and her twins settled down in Costa Rica getting ready to open the medics clinic with Annabeth. She has come to terms with her husband’s abandonment and is rebuilding her life. Then she gets a phone call that changes everything. Her ex-husband is dead.

Max has been interested in Margot since he first met her. And he is absolutely head over heels for her twin daughters! He keeps trying to help Margot as much as possible but she is stubbornly trying to do everything on her own.

Max refuses to let Margot go back to the states to ID her ex unless he goes with her. And it’s a good thing he does. The intrigue and adventures Ms Quinn throws at us are worthy of a series finale book!!! I won’t go into spoilers, but the bond created in this story between the main characters is strong as steel. And they will need it!

Bravo to the spectacular finale of the Wagner Brigade series and I am sure we will see these beloved characters again in future books!

11/10 recommend!

This final book in the series took me through the full range of emotions, from laughter to tears to anxiety to fury to ecstasy with a few “what the heck” moments sprinkled in😉. I loved that Max and Margo truly were good friends at first, which was a great foundation for their relationship. I could feel Max’s loneliness throughout the series and his wavering because of their age difference made me sad. Margo's hesitation was also understandable with her husband abandoning her and their twin daughters without explanation. Those adorable two-year-old twins were both precocious and added so much fun to the story! Through the rollercoaster ride of suspense, what ifs and nerves, Max and Margo get caught up in heated chemistry, they slow it down, they heat back up, they made rash decisions, but oh what a happily ever after they got!
While I am sad to see the end of this series, I look forward to whatever Ashley Quinn writes next and I’m hoping we will get a visit from the members of the Wagner Brigade sometime in the future!

Max's Mission by Ashley Quinn is the final book in The Wagner Brigade series. This story has been a long time coming, and I was so happy to finally be able to read Max's happily ever after.

Max has been looking after Margot for over a year now. The tension and connection between the two of them has been a slow burn in the previous novels. Each one is hesitant to make a move after both being burned in the past. When Margot's ex-husband abandoned car is found with a body inside, her presence is requested to identify his body and belongings. As always, Max is by her side when she needs him the most. As the mystery unravels about the death of her ex-husband and reasons behind his abandonment of his family, Max and Margot go closer and can no longer deny their feelings.

This is such a great series, and I am sad to see it come to an end! Each one has just the right amount of mystery, romance, and spice and really delivers on the happily ever after. I loved Max's story. It was definitely worth the wait!

This is the last mission for the Wagner Brigade and it is Max's job to protect Margot.

Margot's husband walked out on her and her twin daughters, leaving only signed divorce papers along with termination of his parental rights. With Annabeth's help she has started new life on the Island. She has also has a friend and protector in Max.

Then a phone call from the states destroys all of her beliefs. Can she come identify a body the police believe is her ex.

With Max's help they discover that she didn't always know her ex-husband as much as she thought she did.

It is an exciting roller coaster of emotions and danger, but Margot discovers that she has more than a friend in Max, besides a protector.

I was sad that this is the last of the series, but I do look forward to more of Ms. Quinn's books.

Amazing moving story! Action, and a mystery. Love it!

When Margot hears her ex husband Tad was murdered, she had to go to sort out his belongings and Max accompanies her but they find themselves caught up in a strange mystery.

I enjoyed the fast paced plot. The connection between Max and Margot was deep and not realised beyond friendship for so long. Margot hadn't wanted to go further until he expressed his wishes. But that attraction was evident from the start.

I loved Emily and Lily and how they added more emotion to the story and strengthened the relationship also.

The team spirit was also there and I loved how the guys were there for each other. But it was the happy ever after that got me. Loved that!

So well written with amazing characters and great plot. Could not ask for more. So good!!.

Max’s Mission is the latest installment in the Wagner Brigade series by Ashley A Quinn.
When Margot is trying to get her and her twin daughters life back on track after her husband suddenly disappeared without a trace leaving signed divorce papers behind.
Margot received a call that a body has been found and the authorities suspect it’s her husband Tad. She’s lucky to have support and help from all her friends and including Max. He’s not letting her sort this out by herself and they try to find out what happened and if Margot and the girls could be in danger.
I was really looking forward to read Max an Margot’s story. We met them in the previous books and they deserve a happy ending. I read it in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down! I loved the slow burn romance, the mystery and of course the twins!
I received this arc from the author and this review is my honest opinion

This story was full of mystery, action, and attraction. The main characters, Max and Margot, delved into the task of identifying and following the trail of her missing (assumed dead) ex-husband Tad. That alone was stressful, but to complicate matters these two have a mutual attraction hot enough to combust. There were times I wanted to smack Margot to get some sense into her. I kept hoping she'd come around eventually.

OMG - the twins were so adorable, and so very different. Emily as adventurous and outgoing as Lily was studious and reserved. They both, however, loved their mom and Max. As a family unit the four of them would be precious... if only the grown-ups could get it together.

When push comes to shove, and Margot (and the girls) are in danger, will Max put it all on the line? This is a marvelous book, and a great way to wrap the series. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I did receive a gift copy and voluntarily provided this review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚

4.5 stars.

This was easily my most anticipated in the series. The relationship between Max and Margot has been brewing for a few books now, and seeing it finally come to fruition was so freaking exciting. The previous books show how good Max is with Lily and Emily as well, so you just know that he was Margot’s perfect man.

I loved the story, and knew from little hints here and there in previous books that her ex-husband would be the source of the suspense, and I thought this was really well done.

My only gripe is I wish there was a bit more romance. It felt like that came into play a little late in the story when the suspense portion of the story was getting even more heightened, which meant the romance had to compete with this.

Overall, fantastic. At this point, Ashley could publish her grocery list and I’d be first in line to read it!

Thank you Ashley A. Quinn for the ARC.

While you can read this story as a standalone, we've seen Max and Margot interacting together over multiple stories. Now they finally get their HEA! The interactions between these two has been almost painful at times because Max is not only interested in Margot, but he is wonderful with her twin daughters. But given all that Margot has been through, he knew he had to take things slow.

Margot is an independent woman and although she doesn't want to admit it, she has come to depend on Max to a certain extent. And this becomes very clear when he accompanies her North Dakota to talk to a detective about her ex-husband's death. His presence helps to ground her, and his experience comes in real handy as they navigate the surprises and danger to come.

I've loved this whole series but these two are by far my favorite couple. And the twins - how can they not steal your heart?

What an amazing finale to the Wagner Brigade series! I am sorry to see it go but finally glad we got to See Max and Margot's story! There were a lot of twists and turns with the ex and his antics.

Max has loved Margot's twins and her since he has met them but he feels like she wouldn't be interested because he is "too old". Max has played an integral role in all their lives since the beginning and in reality there was a relationship before there was one acknowledged.

Margot realizes during the trek back to the states to ID the ex husband's body that they are already in a relationship even if she is gun shy about relationships. They just don't have the physical aspects of the relationship.

Through all the adventures and finding out the ex is still alive and what he has gotten himself as well as the whole family in Margot and Max realize that they belong together!

This book had a lot of twists and turns. The story has been building up over the course of several books, but we get to is happening.

Max didn’t ever think he would find someone to share his life with. When Margot first came to the island he thought is was a short term deal, but as Margot stayed, he started loving her kids. But i turned into where he was loving to be with her and the girls.

Margot did know if she could love again. Her ex, ran her through the wringer and she didn’t know why. After a strange phone call, she is now on the hunt to figure out what happened.
Great read.

This is the final book in the series and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Very well written and this got had me very emotional. Margo is finally beginning to move on after her husband left her with divorce papers and no explanation of what was going on. Max Carson and teammates have tried to be there for Margot to help her and her twins through getting their lives back. Just when things seem to be going good Margot gets a call that they found her husband's body and ask her to come go through things. Max insists on going with her and things get strange quickly. Can they solve the mystery before it's to late?

Max has patiently been waiting for Margot to be ready to love again, and he hopes he is the recipient of that love. When Margot's husband, who divorced her and disappeared without a word, is thought to be found dead, she must go and identify the body. Max will not let her go alone. They discover more questions and Margot and her twins wind up in danger. Max and the rest of the Wagner Brigade pull together to save Margot and her twins and keep her husband from pulling her deeper into his trouble. Margot realizes she has found what she has needed in Max and when they work together, they are unstoppable. A great wrap up to the Wagner Brigade series.

Finally we get Max and Margot! These two have been burning between the pages for several books now and here it is!

Margot has given up on true love and putting her heart out there again after her ex just up and left, leaving her with the twins. She is determined to never put herself out there again but we know Max and he has shown himself to us in the previous books and to the girls, he only needs to convince Margot now!

This was such a great read and a perfect ending to the series! I can’t wait to see what Ashley Quinn does next!

When Margot’s husband walked out leaving her with divorce papers, her friends step in to help out with the twins and that was where she met Max.
A story full of mystery and suspense, just when you thought they’d solved the mystery it turned another corner.
The added bonus of Margot’s delightful daughters kept the book from being too heavy.
A great story that keeps you interested to the end.

After 6 books, in this one I was expecting something huge to happen. But I never think the right things. Ashley is so creative with her plots and turns of events. This book had me laughing and crying. But also had me smiling happily thinking about their group of friends and how amazing and supportive their are. Max and Margot deserved their HEA after so much time. And the twins are adorable!!!!! Well done again Ashley!!! Thank you for sharing your stories with us. 🥰

I love this series and was eagerly waiting for Max and Margots' story. A very slow burn, that has you wanting to shout make a move. Tidbits of the drama surrounding Margots ex-husband keep you invested in the story and flipping page after page to see how it would all play out. Love all the characters. A great read. I definitely recommend giving it a read.

I loved the connection between Margot and Max, and seeing them together with the twins. I liked the support they got from their friends, whether it was encouraging them, protecting them or helping them work out what was going on, they always had each other's backs. I guessed some things and others I didn't and I enjoyed this story.

The Wagner Brigade has been a fantastic series and Max's Mission does not disappoint. As new devastating information emerged about Margot's ex, I loved that Max was there for her in this friends to lovers romance. The action was fast paced as they traveled across the country trying to solve the mystery. Amazing story and I was sorry to hear it will be the last we'll read of these great group of friends.

Margot met Max after her husband now ex, walked out on her and the twins.

Max's feelings for Margot have passed being just friends. So has Margot's.

Margot must make a trip in connection with her ex. Max invites himself along.

Dead bodies, safety deposit boxes, stolen jewelry, missing persons, all add to this mystery.

So much intrigue and danger in this story. Just when you think you figured it out - there's the twist!!

I read this in a day. I enjoy a series and in my opinion the Wagner Brigade was a really good series.
Max deserved his story to be told and his seemingly unrequited love for Margot and her girls was told to us beautifully.
There were twists and turns that kept me turning the pages.
I had thought Asher was my favorite, I was wrong. Max stole my heart as well.

I absolutely loved Max and Margot's story and the twins are adorable, especially Emily and her input in taking down the bad man. There is so much in this story of romance, drama, friendship, excitement, laughs and cameos from other books. Brilliant on it’s own and also an excellent conclusion to the series.

This book had me from the beginning with the husband leaving. Watching Margot redesign her life and deal with the reality of single parenthood and rebuilding her life was nothing short of inspirational. I was excited for her. Then she gets a call that throws her world off kilter and Max is there to help her. I loved every second of it. It was such a great story that pulled at my heartstrings.
