One plus one equals love. At least, that’s what I’ve always been told.
I’m Kayla Harrington—ice queen, corporate shark, and the woman smart men know better than to cross. I plan for every contingency. I don’t get played. Control isn’t just a keyboard button—it’s how I run my life.
Then one electric night in the shadowy back corner of a bar changes everything. Two devilishly handsome men. One unexpected connection. And suddenly, my perfectly ordered world is missing a critical chaos.
But that night was supposed to be a one-time thing. A glitch in my system.
Until they show up at my office. Unannounced. Unwelcome. And dangerously tempting.
Riggs, the gruff defenseman with a chip on his shoulder. Maddox, the party-king winger with a golden heart. They claim I’m their “prize.” Not for blackmail. Not for leverage. But for love.
Love? As if. Except… they’re relentless. Hilarious. Disarming in ways I never saw coming. And under all that bravado? They’re tender in a way that threatens to break through every wall I’ve ever built.
For the first time, I’m not sure I want to win this game alone. Because maybe love isn’t about control. Maybe it’s about surrender. And maybe, just maybe, it takes two Devils to melt an ice queen.
Never Dance With The Devils is a full-length romance with an HEA. It can be read as a standalone.
Lauren Landish is a WALL STREET JOURNAL & USA TODAY bestselling author and her books have garnered a legion of praise from her readers.
When she’s not plotting about how she will introduce you to your next sexy as hell book boyfriend, you can find her deep, deep in her writing cave, furiously tapping away on her keyboard, writing scenes that would make even a hardened sailor blush.
Lauren, who lives in NC with her boyfriend and fur baby, warmly invites you to her worlds of rock hard abs, chiseled smiles, and men with deep, fat pockets…but beware! These stories are guaranteed to have you addicted and needing your next fix!
In case you haven't had the opportunity to dive into any of the books in this series, let me give you a quick summary. Each book is designed to be a standalone, which I genuinely appreciate! However, I want to kindly remind you that even though each book can be read individually, I believe it's most beneficial to start with the first one to avoid any potential spoilers. I know this might come off as a bit contradictory, but I promise you, it's worth it!
Allow me to introduce Kayla Harrington: She is the only female among six siblings. You can only imagine how challenging it must have been growing up with five macho men in her family, in addition to her father. To complicate matters, she was born into a kind of privilege that carries its own legacy, one that she utilized to the fullest. This means she was a B@$#% long before it was socially acceptable to label her in such a derogatory way. She is the formidable ice queen of the corporate realm. A no-nonsense strategist, she meticulously prepares for every possible scenario and never lets herself to be deceived. However, her life undergoes a significant change when two alluring and unexpected guests from the Devils arrive in her life without warning, completely turning her calm existence on its head.
Now, allow me to introduce you to Riggs Patrick and Maddox Brooks. Both individuals are deeply committed to their hockey team, 'The Devils.' Riggs takes on the role of a defenseman, while Maddox plays as a left winger. Maddox serves as the perfect counterbalance to Riggs. Despite Riggs' reserved nature, Maddox is a chatterbox, capable of engaging in conversation for hours, whether with others or in his own company. When Riggs unleashes his aggression, often resorting to physical confrontations, it is Maddox who employs his intellect to de-escalate the situation, frequently managing to calm Riggs or physically restrain him. While Riggs tends to be emotionally distant and detached from the world around him, Maddox greets each new day with enthusiasm and warmth. In many ways, Riggs resembles a fierce Rottweiler that Maddox has taken under his wing, adamantly refusing to return him to the shelter, despite Riggs' belief that he deserves such a fate.
If you haven't caught on yet, this narrative unfolds the thrilling adventure of exploring the taboo experience of a ménage à trois. It delves into the exhilarating highs and the challenging lows that accompany the societal stigma and judgment often associated with three-way relationships. The story also highlights the difficulties faced in public settings and, more importantly, the complex dynamics with their families as they grapple with the decision of when and how to reveal their unique story to the outside world.
I want to mention that I really enjoyed the characters Riggs and Maddox the most. Their friendship is something I truly love; they uplift and support each other long before they even meet Kayla. I won't lie, I did find myself struggling with Kayla at times throughout the series. There were moments when her cockiness and attitude felt a bit excessive. As for the Harrington Clan, yes, everyone really showed their true selves in this installment, and each of them displayed their unique personalities as we followed their journey throughout the series The bond among the siblings was wonderful. I also have a soft spot for the Harrington parents….. Oh, and don't get me started on the banner among all the siblings. .... It was absolutely priceless
I'm looking forward to seeing where Lauren Landish takes us next!
WOW. WOW. WOW. Lauren has outdone herself and that’s saying a lot. I received a digital ARC of this book. I love Lauren’s spicy books, and I have loved this series of the Harrington siblings. (I recommend reading them in order to avoid spoilers of previous books.) But this might be the spiciest Lauren book I’ve ever read and that’s saying a lot. Kayla is the only girl out of the 6 siblings. That is part of what has made her the strong female she is. But when a deal doesn’t go the way she wants and she’s out of town, she goes out for a drink. What she doesn’t expect is to meet not one, but two, incredibly sexy men. She doesn’t know that they are famous hockey players. This roller coaster romance of Kayla, Maddox and Riggs (yes, a throuple) will have you turning the pages and wanting you to ignore all your responsibilities to finish it. I’m sad this is the last book in the series and can only hope Lauren will gift us with a follow up novel or two with the whole Harrington clan.
The saying “save the best for last” has never felt more true than with this unforgettable finale to the series. Kayla Harrington—fierce, confident, and the only girl boss in the Harrington family—finally meets her match in not one, but two irresistible players from the pro hockey team, The Devils: Riggs and Maddox. From the very first chapter, their chemistry is absolutely electric, and the sparks only get hotter from there. The story builds to a steamy, emotional, and totally satisfying conclusion that had me hooked until the very last page. And that final family dinner? Pure gold—funny, heartfelt, and totally iconic. I’ve loved watching each Harrington brother find love, but Kayla? She completely stole the spotlight. A powerful, passionate ending to a series I’ll be recommending for a long time.
I binge read all the previous books in this series for the Harrington brothers and then had to wait for this one to be released to see what was in store for Kayla! I was kindly gifted an ARC copy to review. I have to say this book was a great read- really saving the best for last to finish up the series! It was spicy with the characters having amazing chemistry right from the start and I enjoyed the difference of having a why choose!
If you like spicy, hockey , why choose and strong female characters this is an excellent choice!
The story is set around the Harrington family, this stout focuses on the only girl, who has five brothers and five(ish) sisters in law. Kayla is feeling pretty lonely, even in the midst of all her family. She is a genius business person, takes no nonsense and spits in the eye of misogyny. At the beginning of our story, she has just had a dreadful business meeting, and is feeling low. She asks for a bar recommendation, and is sent to a club. She meets two amazing guys, and is able to dance and drink the night away. Though this is about her and the two guys, they are also hockey players. After the best one night stand, including the highly unusual situation in which they (gasp) talk away the rest of the night, while inhaling Chinese food. She sneaks out, having only given a small part of her name, and they all sit, miserable and longing for each other. It takes some work, but they do track her down, and what happens for the rest of the book is lovely. They protect, defend, adore, and learn each other. I cannot stress enough how loving and deep their relationship is, and how Kayla finally forces the brothers she has unwaveringly supported, come to support her. I loved this book, and this author. Flawless, as always.
WOW! Lauren Landish has gone and done it again. Kayla, Rigg’s and Maddox’s story will keep you reading. There is so much chemistry and emotions between the three of them. Their story is full of drama, spice and so much more. Incredible doesn’t even begin to describe this book. It just grabs you from the moment you pick it up. It will take you on this journey that you never want to end. Highly recommend this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I like Kayla. She is a warrior queen: fully capable of managing every detail of her life, both work and private, competent and charming, and fully in control. That is until she comes up against the dynamic duo of Maddox and Riggs. Then her icy coldness is met with their fiery heat and steam rises. The finale to the Harrington family series is both a sad one (cause it's over) but a happy one (because they all found their afters!).
Kayla is the CEO of Blue Lake investments. She meet Maddox and Riggs one night. They have a great time together and they she gone. Maddox and Riggs play hockey for the Devils. Maddox and Riggs are different in their love making style. Later in the story the guy find her and show up in her office. . They have dinner that night and they are back together. Her brothers are not happy. , they learn to accept them all. Great story about a lady and her two guys
This is the sixth book in this phenomenal series, and this is Kayla, Riggs, and Maddox’s story. Kayla is fiercely stubborn and likes to have control over all aspects of her life, until in a bar she crosses paths with hockey players, defenceman Riggs, and winger Maddox, and her perfect world tilts on its axels, with the two men determined to break down the walls around her heart. This is a well written story, with family, friendships, emotions, drama, why choose, opposites attract, humor, witty banter, determination, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and addictive, hockey romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Kayla is a fierce, confident business woman, that take no bull from anyone, especially men. After a stressful day she decides to unwind, she thought in a bar, but following a recommendation from the hotel's concierge, ends up in a club. There she meets, for the first time, Riggs and Maddox. After sharing a drink with them, they click! Sizzling chemistry and lots of family interference, from Kayla's brothers, their love wins out.
The story balances spicy chemistry with heartfelt moments, though some readers might find the pacing uneven due to the intense romantic entanglements. Landish’s signature humor and close-knit family dynamics shine, making it a fun, engaging read. Perfect for those who love bold heroines and sizzling tension.
Turns out that a thruple is more relatable now.. scorching, with expected turned up noses from the public. Love how they interact with each other, respectful and caring. Well done
Oooh, this was sooo HOT! Loved seeing what all the family members are up to, and glad they finally got schooled by Maddox and Riggs about how they treat their sister. Had to stay up late to finish this one and it was worth every minute of lost sleep.
We finally get Kayla Harrington's book. The final in the Harrington's series, with all the past characters making appearances. Kayla takes this story like the boss B@$#% she is! Of course because she is who she is, she needs someone strong to take her on! I loved how she took on finding her own happiness and what she was missing in her life. Riggs and Maddox are great additions, and compliment each other really well. overall it was good book and definitely worth the read.
This is book 6 in the *Never Say Never* series so I really encourage you to read the previous books first to get familiar with the characters and all the exciting drama that enfolds!
*Never Dance With The Devils* is Kayla Harrington’s story. Being the only girl in a family with five brothers, she’s the strong and independent one who always looks out for everyone else. Now, it’s time for her to focus on her own happiness, and she surprises everyone by starting a relationship with not just one, but two professional hockey players!
This series is so much fun! I’m super sad to see it end. I loved learning all the little nuances of each Harrington sibling. Their family is loving, loyal, and so much fun - although their family dinners can get a little chaotic at times!
The 🥵 was 🔥 but I couldn’t understand the relationship between them all and how it’d work. Her family would not be so accepting so it was just a bit ….. I wasn’t sure this is the storyline I wanted for Kayla
If you’re like me and have been reading this series since it first started coming out, then the anticipation of this book was high on your radar. It took a long time but here we are at the final book in the Never Say Never series. I’m bummed it’s over but at the same time I’m happy it ends with Kayla’s story. I wish I remembered how she was in the other books though. All I have is periods of time that I remember in memories and that was brought to life in this book. I couldn’t tell you what happened in the other books fully, only snapshots. Regardless, this book could have ended on a high note but I felt like there was something that bothered me in this. Whenever it was in either Maddox or Riggs’ point of view it felt more like a monologue than private thoughts, the unknown, insecurities and worries. The desire was there, that was well done but everything else just seemed a bit robotic in the guy’s point of view. Maddox was way too happy and worry free. I couldn’t get a read on him because I never knew how he was truly feeling. He has this mentality all was good, every single time. Plus, he had this don’t care vibe as well that kind of bothered me. No one is that happy go lucky or upbeat all the time. I don’t think anything bothered him except when Kayla’s client called her demeaning names. This was the most emotion I got from Maddox. I’m not even sure if he really loved her or if this was his way of showing it because he wasn’t that tender or emotional but he was still a good guy and brought out the best in Kayla and Riggs. You can’t fault him for that. Then there was Riggs who always thought the worst, but at least I got emotion from him and he felt more real to me than Maddox. I also got tenderness and care from him. With him, I honestly felt he really loved Kayla and had his struggles with trust but even then it felt nonexistent because I believe he trusted her and felt comfortable being himself around her. Truthfully, the way the guy’s point of view was written is the only thing that had me giving this book a 4 and not a 5. I think I was a little annoyed being in Maddox’s point of view because he wasn’t emotional enough for me and Riggs kept thinking the worst. The only viewpoint that didn’t bother me was Kayla’s. She knew what she wanted, had a good head on her shoulders and I liked flitting back and forth between her strong personality at work, the way she doesn’t let anyone walk over her and always has a comeback whether with clients or her family. I also liked the part of her that was girly, can relax, giggles and likes the finer things in life but just wanted the same tenderness and love her brothers all found. Sometimes I wish I was more like her in life, maybe then people would take me seriously and not give me a hard time with things professionally. I also liked that between the 3 of them, there wasn’t expectations. Sure, Kayla was hesitant at first starting something with them but then she eventually gives in, and pretty quickly because she liked how she felt around them and it was nice having two men who were willing to jump in with two feet for her. Another thing I did notice is in the way they were together. I’ve read books with throuples before and the spice and intensity is nonstop, so much so that it’s carnal. This was missing from this story, and went in a more gentle, loving way and I would have wanted more grit and spice in it, more emotion if you will. I felt it to a degree, but I wanted it off the charts and that didn’t happen in this, not enough to have me give this book an even lower rating though. Overall, it was a feel good, sensual and entertaining read. I look forward to reading more books by this author in the future.
Being a power player with Blue Lake Assets, Kayla exudes control. The entire Harrington family does. Being the only daughter has had it's advantages and it's disadvantages. Case in point: She has five brothers, so it can go either way. Kayla has learned to be a control freak as well as a stone cold...well, you know. She's nicked-named the closer because she's earned it and that's made her an asset to the company as well as her family. After a business deal that's gone sideways, Kayla wanders into a club for a quick drink and a replay of the day. Meeting someone, or rather meeting two someones especially hockey players, was not in the plan. Unbeknownst to Kayla, Riggs and Maddox play for the Devils and after one hot night with Kayla, they wake up alone. The only thing to do would be to hunt her down and find her. Maddox and Riggs are used to sharing and being in control. Kayla is a game changer for them. Kayla is also a control freak. How would that work? The pursuit is on, but that's not a problem for Maddox and Riggs. The hardest part is navigating this new relationship between the three of them and how to make it work, because they need this to work. After being together and seeing how it could be, they now refuse to be without.
HOT, HOT, HOT!!! Hot and spicy read with lots of emotions! The main characters are determined and unapologetic! A fantastic read that you will not be able to put down!!! I absolutely loved it! I highly recommend this book as well as the entire Never Say Never Series!!!
Well, I’ve been patiently impatiently waiting for Kayla’s story (the drama in the Harrington family has been highly addictive throughout), and I knew that Kayla would need a special, strong man. She’s one of the strongest women I know. What I wasn’t expecting was two men, but do you know what? It makes complete sense. Both Riggs and Maddox (two opposites themselves), have exactly what it takes to love and care for Kayla, all while ensuring she gets the freedom to be the strong, individual, corporate business woman she is. A super super sexy read, yes, you can imagine, a complete ménage a trois, nothing is left out, but still on the tasteful side, just “wink, wink”. A truly entertaining story, it was great catching up with the Harrington clan, and of course seeing how they all reacted to the whole three in a bed thing, as you can imagine not very well, those brothers took some convincing. It still had so many funny bits in and amongst. I was addicted throughout, I could not put it down. The question is, where to we go from here? Is this the end of the Never Say Nevers? Sadly I think so. Even though each book can be read as a standalone, I would highly recommend reading the previous books. I’ve loved each and every one of them. Wonderfully written, highly entertaining, funny and super sexy. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
With ‚Never Dance with the Devils‘, Ms. Landish has once again outdone herself. What she has packed into this wonderful romance novel is simply incredible. Kayla's long-awaited story is the brilliant culmination of this series, that's for sure. Riggs, Maddox and Kayla turn their entire lives upside down with their blossoming relationship. The resulting personal growth of the three main characters is sensitively and vividly captured by Ms. Landish. You can't help but root for the protagonists and the Harrington family as they overcome one challenge after another. The endless banter and tough love between Kayla and her siblings, the girls' nights in with her sisters-in-law, the emotions and chemistry between Kayla, Riggs and Maddox and last but not least their sexy times kept me glued to the pages until I read the last word. ‚Never Dance with the Devils‘ has all the depth, drama and flirty lightness you'd expect from a romance novel of this format and is an absolute must-read! I could've lingered in these Harrington stories for much longer and am so sad that there aren't more siblings, lol.
This is the final story in the Never Say Never Series and boy is it a spicy one! Kayla gets to discover what will make her happy after years of always being the one of 6 siblings to keep her parents and brothers inline and helping them finding their happiness. When she’s been the one giving Kayla has become a fierce and successful businesswoman at Blue Lake her family business. On a rare night during a business trip she finds herself in a club trying to forget her disastrous day with a drink and ends up spending the night with 2 Devils, Riggs and Maddox. The guys enjoy that Kay sees them as men and not professional athletes and have an amazing night only to find she’s disappeared. When two alpha men realize they’re miserable they are on the hunt to find their Kay. Life is missing something and Kay deals with being lonely until one day she finds her 2 Devils in her office. The attraction, rightness of their relationship gives them all the power to move forward for all the good things in life and their foundation will be shaken by the media and family. The Harrington’s and all their spouses are one special family!
Never Dance With The Devils” by Lauren Landish is a full-length, standalone romance novel, and the sixth and final installment in the "Never Say Never" series. It centers on Kayla Harrington, a powerful businesswoman who meets two hockey players, Riggs and Maddox, during a night out. This chance encounter disrupts Kayla's carefully controlled life, leading to an unexpected journey of love and self-discovery. The book is praised by reviewers for its strong characters and engaging plot. Kayla is depicted as a formidable “ice queen” who eventually learns to be vulnerable and embrace a new kind of love with both men. The dynamic between Kayla, Riggs, and Maddox is highlighted as emotionally rich and believable by readers. The novel explores themes of finding love, surrendering control, and the complexities of human relationships. Many reviews specifically mention the "hot and steamy" nature of the romance, along with the captivating and unapologetic main characters. Reviewers consistently recommend the book as a great end to the series, praising its emotional depth and satisfying conclusion with a happy ever after.
Kayla Harrinton is a shark when it comes to business, she loves her family deeply, but she has been burned in the past, so she isn't looking for love. Riggs Patrick and Maddox Brooks play professional hockey for the Devils. A chance meeting with the beautiful blond who introduces herself as Kay leads to a one-night stand none of them can forget. When Riggs and Maddox manage to track her down Kayla is shocked, but more importantly, she begins to wonder if the three of them can form a lasting relationship. Funny and steamy romance with plenty of twists in the plot that kept me guessing. These are absolutely wonderful characters, and I loved their fast-paced and sometimes laugh out loud funny dialog. Lots of emotional ups and down with a happily ever after make this a must-read book that I highly recommend to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC provided by the author.
