Quirky quilters face clumsiness, mysteries, and quilting challenges.
It's so much more than a hobby, quilting really is- especially for really dedicated groups. I had been an active quilter in a few hand stitching quilting groups in college, and dropped out of the most time intensive one when I got engaged. One of the members gave me a quilted pillow top, and let me know the quilts were much more reliable and long lasting than any man.
Some of the quilters in these stories face dilemmas with their time, resources, and threats - and the women , and the quilts, and the craftscontinue to be there for them.
Fun, light humor, mud stomping messiness with plenty of quilting anecdotes and humor.
I read Kathryn Mykel's contribution to this book and I'm sure the other authors will be just as entertaining!!
Agnes is missing!
Beatrice and Maud are worried about Agnes as she didn't show up to the quilters meeting so they decide to do a little investigation, but no one has seen her today! The ladies are determined to figure out what happened, but will they do it in time to find/save Agnes?
There is a lot packed into this brief mystery.
I received this as an ARC fo my voluntary and honest review.
The Missing Stitcher contributed to this anthology by Kathryn Mykel has a great plot and is a fun to read cozy mystery. I love the senior sleuths as they piece together the mysterious disappearance of their friend. Of course, they are talented at piecing things together as they are quilters! Kathryn Mykel's stories are always clever and entertaining. I highly recommend her story in this anthology and her books.
I read this book a part of an advance reader team and am voluntarily leaving this review.
Beatrice and Maud are a hoot as they try to find out if their friend, Agnes. Whisper Willows is a quiet, pretty little town with a huge sense of community. You can just picture it in your mind from the wonderful descriptions.
You’ll chuckle as you read along listening to their discussions, rants at local chipmunks and more.
What a fun way to take some time away from the real world to just relax and enjoy. You deserve it and won’t be sorry!
This anthology includes some of my favorite cozy writers including Daisy Landish, Felicity Green and Kathryn Mykel. This includes a wide range of cozy mysteries from paranormal to non-paranormal. I really enjoyed Kathryn Mykel's addition to this book: The Missing Stitcher. It is always good to know your friends have your back, especially in these small towns where amateur sleuths step in to solve the case.
Definitely Cozy! I enjoyed this mystery short anthology. It is definitely a good way to find new to me authors. This is a review for The Missing Stitcher by Kathryn Mykel, one of the stories in this anthology. When Agnes, one if the members of their quilting group, goes missing, Maud & Beatrice limp into action to find her. Enjoyed the references to classic crime shows. Short, quirky, enjoyable story. I enjoy all Mykel's stories & all the anthologies from Aconite Cafe.
This review is for “The Missing Stitcher.” Beatrice and Maud are quite the pair! Loved the sleuthing and humor! Relatable characters and a fun mystery made this a very enjoyable read. These are my opinions after reading an advance copy of this short story.
I received a missing stitcher as an advanced reader copy. Two friends go looking for their missing friend. This was a quick and wonderfully written story.
I loved this book. It was full of people who had different hobbies and all with different mysteries. The short stories were well written and fast reads.
I absolutely adore the senior sleuths in Kathryn Mykel’s novella in this hobby themed anthology! A little mud won’t stop them from finding their friend...after stopping for a meal or two along the way! They’ve got spunk and I loved it!
