Hellbound: A LitRPG Adventure

Rate this book
In Hell the damned are tortured forever for their sins. Murderers are boiled alive in blood, the greedy are enslaved by capricious demons, and the lustful wander forever in howling darkness. So has it ever been.

Until now.

To end the nightmare, the damned souls need a hero, and they have found Chris. His own mother is trapped in Hell, and he's doomed to join her for something he did when he was fifteen. His only chance to escape that fate and save humanity from eternal suffering is to break Hell and end the torture once and for all. To do that, he's given access to fantastic powers, but they won't be enough. To survive, he'll need to level up, form a party, and fight like his soul depends on it.

Because it does.

Hellbound is a LitRPG adventure with a strong focus on combat and character. It's sometimes funny, sometimes sad, and always satisfying, so grab your gear, assign your points, and join the adventure.

Daniel McKay lives in New Zealand where he spends his time writing, teaching philosophy, and playing cards. He writes the Philosophical Detective series, which combines his love for philosophy with his love for sarcasm, and the Pantheon series, which combines his love for interesting magic powers with his love for awesome fight scenes.

He can be reached at danielmckayauthor@gmail.com. Or you could try shining a Dan-Signal in the sky on a cloudy night. No guarantees that one will work though.

P.S. The Augmentamancer Chronicles books are currently out of print on account of them being a bit amateurish but I am working my way back through them with a metaphorical red pen and they are slowly being rereleased. Books 1, 2, and 3 are back and the second editions have brand new (way cooler) cover art.

A good entry into the LitRPG genre. Set with some pretty fun rules and a concept of kicking God down a notch or two for some out of date, old testament justice, it follows the protagonist on his journey to beat the system and get out of an unfair damnation. Main two characters are very likeable and some fun support characters, and the system of magic is fun and well laid out.

Will definitely look into the next ones in the series!
