2.5 stars overall I like the book.I just felt like some parts of the book feels rushed especially the ending.I do feel like I would have pick this book up in my young adult years.
Ironically, despite the title killer year and the front cover of this book, I didn’t not expect the novel to end the way it did.
A story filled with grief and the age old tale of racism and prejudice, particularly in the south. The author portrayed rainyah’s anger and grief at losing her brother well but I thought everything was starting to look up towards the end.
Boy was I wrong. Sudden betrayal and twists had be shocked but they also somewhat came out of nowhere. Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable read
The author gave a captivating story that will stay with me forever. I enjoyed every minute of this book. It was a thrilling experience that sticks with the reader. This book had teenage drama. It explored bouts of racism. It was heartbreaking. It was fun. It had love, loss, challenges, evilness, and intrigue. This is definitely a book to pick up.
The reason I gave 4 stars was because some parts needed a bit of editing. Overall though it was a thrilling and immersive read.
Thought this book was good but there was not a lot of character and story development. The story went really fast and some context was left out. It left me wanting more and to have a more built out story. Everything was pretty surface.
