AN AMAZON TOP 100 BESTSELLER.

A desperate single dad and an unemployed child psychologist bump into each other in a small-town bar…

I left the Navy, scored a billion in tech, got married, and had a baby. I did everything by the book. Happily ever after, right? Wrong.
Fast-forward four years, and I’m alone, trying to raise my daughter in spite of screwing up at every turn (according to my mother-in-law), and launching a new business.
I was clearly desperate the night I offered a gorgeous girl in a bar $500 a day to be my live-in nanny—or maybe it was another part of my anatomy talking.
So what if I’ve been alone since forever? I’m focused on my job, not the sultry siren who sleeps downstairs.
At least that’s what I keep reminding myself…

He’s distant, brooding, and drop-dead gorgeous, and when he scoops up his adorable four-year-old daughter and blows raspberries on her tummy while she squeals with delight, I’m done.
Bumping into him at our local pub slightly drunk and overly frustrated was a total accident. He needed help, and he offered me a ridiculous salary. I couldn't say no. Right?
Now he’s given me the chance to pay off my debts and take control of my life. I can't screw up this job.
But as bad as I want to be good, I’m not sure I can fake it…
The way he watches me sends heat sizzling through my insides.
Our hands touch, our eyes meet, and I’m ready for my new boss to make me his.

(A steamy, small-town, single-dad/nanny romance. No cheating; No cliffhangers.)

I signed up to receive an ARC of Make me yours by Tia Louise based solely on the description of the book. The plot seemed like a storyline I would be interested in and the book did not disappoint. I was hooked from the moment I started reading the book. I had a huge migraine and looking at the screen was not helping but once I started I couldn’t stop. I had the book finished the same day I started and I loved every minute of the book.

The book was like a fairy tale. Remi and Ruby’s chemistry was felt through the writing. It was a pleasure watching them fall for each other. What I loved the most about this book was aside from Remi being a billionaire, the story felt like it could be real and not a fantasy. They were regular people who met in a common place that people meet. I felt like I could have been Ruby and I get a real joy in being able to relate to the heroine of romance stories.

Definite 5 star read, the book was full of love, romance, and some steamy sex. It’s a must read. The book releases March 4th, be sure to grab your copy!

Make Me Yours is by Tia Louise. I don’t know what it is about Tia’s books. She has this power over me, drawing me in to her books and making me fall in love with her characters. This book was no exception. It was amazing! Did you read Make You Mine? In that book we met Drew and Gray. Now it’s Drew’s best friend, Ruby’s turn. This is a stand alone romance. You definitely don’t need to read any of the other books before reading this one.

Ruby Bank’s life isn’t going the way she had hoped. She finished college and is working as a therapist along with her closest friend, Drew. She only has two clients and things just aren’t taking off. She still lives at home with her mother. She has dated lots of men but no one has ever held her interest. Drew drags her out to the local bar one evening and as she is sitting there thinking about the mess of her life, she sees him. How could she not have met this beautiful man before in their small community of Oakville. Everyone knows everyone. But there he is, and she can’t look away.

pretty woman

Remington Key thought he had everything, a beautiful wife he loved, a baby on the way. But then life changed. He’s now a single father of an energetic four year old daughter, Lillie, and shares his home with his mother-in-law who swooped in four years ago to help with Lillie and never left. Money is no object for Remington. But he still needs to concentrate on his business. But he’s finding it hard to juggle everything. On a rare night out, he sees her and he can’t look away. There’s something about her that draws him in, that captivates him in every way.

daddy and daughter

Remington and Ruby may have had a couple of drinks, inhibitions may have been lowered, but maybe that’s what they needed. Remington couldn’t let her walk away. After hearing about her unsuccessful career, he offers her a job as his daughter’s nanny. He desperately wants to get Lillie out from under the influence of his mother in law. Ruby needs a change. Maybe this would be the perfect way to take a break and figure out what she wants to do. Remi is offering her an insane amount of money to be his daughter’s nanny. The problem is, the chemistry between them is crazy. She can ignore it, right? She can be a professional nanny.

kiss

Ignoring what is happening between Remi and Ruby is harder than they anticipated. Remi can see the changes in his daughter every day. He loves the influence that Ruby has on her. But she also has an effect on him, one he doesn’t want to ignore, one he doesn’t want to ever lose. Only the town is beginning to talk. And his mother in law is not happy.

Oh my gosh, Remi and Ruby were so perfect together. I also loved getting a little glimpse at how Drew and Gray were doing. Don’t even get me started on how adorable little Lillie was. This book grabbed me right from the start. Ruby stole my heart. And Remi had me swooning. This book will make you sigh, smile, and will break your heart just a little bit. I loved every page of it. Tia, you’ve done it again! You made me fall in love with your words. Thank you!

IN THE MOOD FOR A SINGLE DAD!

Stand-alone.
Blurb:
Remington Key: I left the Navy, scored a billion in tech, got married, and had a baby. I did everything by the book. Happily ever after, right?
Fast-forward four years, and I’m alone, raising my daughter, caring for my mother-in-law, and trying to keep my stuff together. How did this happen?
I was clearly drunk the night I offered a gorgeous girl in a bar $500 a day to be my live-in nanny. Or maybe it was my dick talking.
So what if I’ve been alone since forever? I’m focused on launching my new business, not bedding the sexy siren who sleeps down the hall.
At least that’s what I keep reminding myself…
Ruby Banks: Remington Key is distant, brooding, and incredibly sexy. And when he scoops up his adorable four-year-old daughter Lillie and blows raspberries on her tummy while she squeals with delight, I totally swoon.
Bumping into him at our local pub that night slightly drunk and overly frustrated was a total accident.
Our hands touch, our eyes meet, and I want to do very naughty things with my new boss.

Another fantastic story from Tia Louise!! This one made my fairytale Disney princess loving heart so happy. I just sighed and smiled all the way through the book until I didn't because sometimes men are so dumb!
I loved Ruby and Remi from their instant attraction, to their work relationship (that I wasn't going to go as planned Lol), through their rough time of finding their way, right to their dreamy HEA.
Through it all was little bundle of giggles, Disney songs and pigtails Lillie. She stole my heart!!
Their unconventional start made their relationship forbidden. The small town gossips made it seem dirty. A judgy Mother Inlaw who completely disapproved. But Love made it all worthwhile.
I finished with the happiest of tears rolling down my face. That seems to happen a lot with this authors books and I love it!!

IF you have been following my reviews this year, then you know that I haven't found many five star reads for 2019. I am very excited to report that this is going down as one of my "Best of 2019" books immediately! I absolutely adored everything about this story! It was just so heart warming and sexy all rolled into one! Tia Louise did a beautiful job with this one, and I found myself thinking how I didn't want it to end!

This is a stand alone; however Ruby is the best friend of the heroine from the last book that the author put out. I fell in love with Ruby in that book, and I certainly continued my admiration for her in this one! Remi is the hero of this story, and he is a single Dad with an amazing little four year old daughter. Little Lillie was adorable...she melted me, and never failed to make me smile. The things that would come out of her mouth were just so darn sweet! Normally, in these types of books the child ends up stealing the spotlight..but I will say....Lillie complemented both Remi and Ruby's whole relationship beautifully.

Not only was this a feel good book, it also was very HOT! Whew!!! This couple had chemistry in a huge way! I was feeling the butterflies right along side Ruby! The things the Remi did to that woman...just trust me...it was beyond explosive! If I could have jumped into the story myself; I totally would have...LOL!

All in all, I loved "Make Me Yours!!!"I'm delighted to know that there will be another book coming out for one of the side characters in this story! This means more wonderful reading time for me!!
This book comes out on March 3/19, and I highly recommend it. Thank you so much to the author for gifting me a copy! I feel like I won the lottery with such an awesome story!!

I frigging LOVED Ruby in MAKE YOU MINE so I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. I loved every minute. It was well written. It was well paced. The plot was engaging. It was sugary sweet. It was low angst. It was sexy. It was funny. There was no OW or OM drama. It had a hot single Daddy that had been celibate since his wife died (4 years). It had a feisty, and hilarious non virgin (thank you god) heroine. It had a great cast of secondary characters. Lillie was adorable. Eleanor legit needed to be throat punched every time she opened her mouth. Last, it was all wrapped up in a super sweet epilogue. Bring on Stephen's book...

SIDE NOTE: Ralph the almond King still needs a happily ever after of his own. He is only mentioned in this book once, but I still think he deserves a nut obsessed woman to complete his almond empire. (lol)

She awakens parts of me I thought had long been dormant.

When I first started reading ‘Make Me Yours’, I thought… wow. This whole thing seems really familiar. It didn’t take me long to realize that Ruby and Remi are secondary characters from Louise’s ‘Make You Mine’ and one of the scenes was in both books. I was excited when I remembered this, as I loved Ruby in the previous book!

Ruby needs a job and Remi needs a nanny… Ruby isn’t looking to become a nanny but her current job just isn’t working out. And Remi is offering her a ridiculous amount of money to be a live in nanny and help out with his little girl. Things would be perfect, if only there wasn’t this insane chemistry between them that they can’t scorch. It makes things rather complicated.

I love single parent books, and the single dad falling for the nanny… sigh. I adore this troupe. I think my favorite thing about this entire book was seeing Ruby with Remi’s daughter, Lillie. It was perfect and made my heart so happy!

The audio book of Make Me Yours is narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Lucy Rivers and I would highly recommend listening to it. They brought the characters to life and Teddy Hamilton did an amazing job of not only voicing Remi, but surprisingly enough nailed both Ruby and Lillie’s voices.

I loved Remi, Ruby, and Lillie. I loved the family dynamic they grew to have. That aspect was so heartwarming. This was also a steamy and fast paced read that was easy to listen to. I am looking forward to reading Stay next as it’s Stephen's (Remi’s friend) story!

I am SO EXCITED to bring you MAKE ME YOURS! Ruby + Remi's Single dad-Nanny romantic comedy is so much more than you expect... I can't WAIT for you to meet these two lovebirds.

Ruby is sassy and hilarious and BROKE... Remi is focused and intense, and DROWNING... She agrees to help him with his adorable daughter Lillie in exchange for a ridiculous salary. A one-month trial period. They will NOT get involved... Too bad their chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS!!!!

The most iconic line from this book, “My butt threw up,” by four year old Lillian. Other than that, this book is rather plain, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It just isn’t memorable either. I feel like it’s also doing a rather excellent job in dragging the name of a few respectable line of works, namely nannies and therapists, through the mud.

Reasons being that the twenty three year old said nanny and therapist heroine is a hormonal mess who crumbles into a puddle of lust at the sight of the hero. She doesn’t know how to stick by her choice because, even knowing she shouldn’t be sleeping with her employer or form any sort of attachment for that matter, she still does it. Oh well, I guess humans aren’t perfect creatures, and love is love.

On the whole, this is a decent single parent romance with no drama or plot other than the wishy washy characters’ push and pull game. Mainly the heroine doing the pushing. Oh, you should know the heroine is half Korean, and there are a number of culture and K-Pop references. The representation is mostly stereotypical though (IMO).

Ruby and Remi gave me all the feels! First off, how cute are their names together? Second, as characters they were equally adorable. They were so sweet together and actually just this entire book was filled with sweetness. From both Ruby and Remi, and Remi's little, girl Lillie. I swear I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading this story and I loved that about it. It's just a really happy book. There was a small amount of angst with Ruby fighting the attraction to Remi at times since she was his Nanny and didn't want to be seen as that Nanny that gets a little too close to the single father. But that's where Remi came in and made me swoon all over the place with his determination to get Ruby to give him a chance.

Bottom line, if you're looking for a book that's going to make you all warm and fuzzy then this is the one for you! Both characters were brilliantly written, their hang-ups and their push to be with one another were depicted really well and had me loving them. And it has the added bonus of a really cute kid that will have you laughing along with her at some of the things she got into.

Make Me Yours is my first Tia Louise book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though it is a stand alone, there are cross over characters from Make You Mine.

The story revolves around a widower, Remington Key, who is determined to build his business and not falling in love with his new nanny, Ruby Banks. The story is told from a duel POV, which I appreciated because we get to see what is going on in Remington’s head. How he is just crazy about Ruby, but what is even more important, his love for precious daughter Lillie. I adored Ruby!! She was sweet, funny and took no B.S. from anyone. Once she witnesses Remi with his daughter, she falls just a little more in love with him.

All in all, a sweet love story that is low on the angstometer.

I am totally swooning right now! Remi is everything I had hoped he would be! Of course he did right by picking Ruby to be the one for him and together they absolutely sent me into a place of pure giddiness.

description

I am that reader that absolutely adores a hero who knows what he wants and goes for it, no matter what obstacles stand in his way. And that’s what we get with Remi. From the first moment he met Ruby he wanted her and the more he got to know her, the more he wanted her forever. I loved how he set out to do that and yet he knew exactly when to back off and when to press forward. His jealous possessive attitude that cropped up from time to time set my alpha loving heart into overdrive. Add in the fact that he’s a single dad of a darling little girl who was just too freaking cute and the swooning began.

Ruby was at a crossroads in her life. Having been denied the chance to fulfill her young girl dreams, she went a route that isn’t really working out for her. Her life is in a bit of a mess and when the opportunity arises to move forward she takes it pretty quickly. She was a totally relatable heroine with a sassiness about her that was never rude or obnoxious. She’s tough but not hard because underneath it all is a heart that is sweet and unequivocally falling in love with a little girl and her dad. The scenes between Ruby and Lillie were fun, special and often times emotional.

description

The tricky part is that this is a story of a hero whose wife has died. Often times with this trope it’s difficult for the author to make me believe that the hero is as deeply in love with the heroine as he was with his deceased wife or even more so. While Remi never claims to love Ruby more, it is apparent that he loves her fully and that the love he had for his wife is now a sweet memory that he’ll cherish but that is not ruling his present life or his future. Even without his inner musings, his actions alone would have made me believe that Ruby was his everything. Her very existence brings him out of the dark and into a place of light and hope. I loved that she could do that and that he was open to it.

description

This is a fast paced story with so much steamy goodness! The chemistry here is palbable from the very first moment Ruby notices him and it only grows afterwards. There are some angsty moments for this couple but nothing too dramatic to make your gut clinch. With plenty of lighthearted humor and the additional cuteness factor due to Lillie, this was a wonderful read that I totally lost myself in.

Everything I luv in one book.

Omg this book melted my heart. It was brilliant I even read it slow cause I didn't want it to finish. The story is sweet, funny, romantic and also smoking hot. I was addicted to Remy and Ruby from the start then a sweet lil Lillie came along and I was even more gone. I've been looking forward to this book for so long since Make You Mine. Where Ruby's character was so funny and she is the same in this book. She is a really strong character and can hold her own. And she is also very independent I'm her own way. Ruby is at the stage in her life where she didn't know what's next. Her job and love life need more She can just deal with boring. She needs something or someone that can bring her to life and it comes in the shape of a guy that looks like Jamie Dornan. Will it's not him it's Remington Key and boy is this guy smoking hot.

Free Image Hosting at FunkyIMG.com

Remy God where do I start with this man. Everything about him oozes he is just the sexy. Throw in his cute sweet lil girl and the heart break he has dealt with plus he's rich so Ye he's a total catch. I could go on about this guy forever. He is by far the best hero this author has done and she has done so really good one. Remy hasn't had it easy but he has dealt with it so well. He is a really successful man in his business and is a great father to Lillie. But it's times he found himself a life outside work and his daughter he needs his time. He has put himself on hold for long enough. So when he see this gorgeous woman Ruby he has to see know more. It doesn't take him long to find out that she is what he wants and when he wants something he get it.

Free Image Hosting at FunkyIMG.com

This book is just brilliant like I said the story was so good. The characters are amazing Lillie is by far the most cutest kid ever. I'm a sucker for sweet lil kids in books. Then her love for Disney just made it even better. The author even throw in my favourite line out of a Disney film and it for the book to a tee. Well played Tia. I would highly recommend this book and author. As you can tell I really enjoyed it there isn't a thing I didn't like. The book is light funny easy to read and some hot scenes what's there not to luv. I'm dying to see what this author does next after this book.

This was exactly what I needed at the time that I read it. I’ve never read Tia Louise before but after this, you can guarantee that I’m about to devour her backlist! We all know that single dad romances are my kink and this one blew it out of the water! I loved it so freakin’ much y'all!

I adored our characters, Ruby and Remington! From the moment that they met and he hired her, I was already planning their wedding in my head. I was also making bets with myself to see how long it would be before they gave into this hot as hell attraction that was brewing between them.

Ruby was such a damn treat to read about! She was witty, and sassy, and never failed to make me laugh. She’s half Korean and jams kpop, I swear she was out to steal my heart as well as Remington’s. The way she cared for Lillie was tearing at my heartstrings. Remington was sweet but I loved how he would turn possessive over Ruby. After the death of his wife, I was so happy that he could open his heart to the idea of making a new family with Ruby.

The sex scenes between them were hot as hell and the chemistry was off the charts. Even though we get sexy times we also get more than that. We get to see them really talk about their pasts and actually get to know each other.

Like I said before, I adored this with my whole heart and can’t wait to see what she writes next!

This book is phenomenal!! Gives you all the feels!! Ruby and Remi- amazing together!! And sweet Lillie just adds to the beauty of this book!

I love the moral battle they are fighting themselves. It’s not rushed, they want to do the right thing but they really care for each other, there is kindness and compassion.... so good!! And Lillie is always their priority!!

Ruby wants to be independent- love this line:
“Maybe I do want to be a part of their life, but I want to be independent first. I want to make the choice.” She is so kind with Lillie, I love their relationship!

Remi- he’s broken, loyal, so drawn to Ruby but always is thinking of Lillie!!

It’s sweet, steamy, has great supporting characters, it has amazing little details that fill your heart, full of conflict but it comes out of love. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made my heart whole! Tia Louise did such an amazing job with this book! For sure a top 2019 read for me because I just feel so good at the end of it!! Thank you Tia Louise!!

So if you follow my reviews, you would know by now I am a serious Tia Louise Reader. I have bonded with her like a little baby bird. She hits all of the right notes for me. She gives me complete characters who seem at first easy yet as the story progresses...we see their flaws and insecurities. She gives solid plots and excellent secondary characters who cause us to want to know more about them, too.

And...she does chemistry which jumps off the page, grabs you by the throat, and makes you feel as if you are in the throes of passion. Yup, the woman can write.

When Ms. Louise started this series with Make You Mine, she layered it with characters who demanded your respect and attention. One which was so three dimensional, we could hardly wait for her book to be released. Well, get ready because this is Ruby Bank's tale.
She was Drew's best friend. Drew was the love interest in the first book and she was a very accomplished therapist. Ruby was new to being a fully qualified therapist and was trying to build her client list. These women have been there for each other since childhood.

Ruby's life was different from Drew's in that she endured all the mean girls at school. As a child of a Korean mother and Anglo father, she was the target of insensitive, hurtful comments about her mother and her. Ruby worked to be strong and the fact her father was cold, distant, and not interested in Ruby, made her develop who she was. She had an undying love for her mother, a woman who had a career before she married her physician husband. She put all of her dreams aside and focused on his happiness and her daughter's.

The result was a woman who was talented in art but put it away for the approved path dictated by her parents. Now she is grown, her father has passed and she is still living at home. The plus is the amazing food her mother makes, the minus is her mother is in her business. And another minus is she is not loving this therapist career.

Oh, and there is one more other big thing...There are no decent men where she lives! She is fed up with all the duds. This has been tested by using all the apps, the regular meet and greet method, and even being fixed up by friends...Ruby has a distinct personality, meaning not a shrinking violet...remember mean girls training, and she is pretty straightforward in her ways. Drew tried to help and introduce her to someone she thought would be perfect but the timing for Ruby was just not right.

Remington Key lived a life that should have been the perfect map to his HEA. He was smart, solid and did the right things. He served in the Navy; left and worked with the tech industry developing an app that would later become indispensable for the military. By selling it at the right time, he and his wife were set. They took the next step to become parents and that day finally came.

That one day when his best moment and worst happened at the same time. His beautiful daughter was born...and his beloved wife died.

This was a man shattered and in need of help. His mother-in-law stepped up, moved in, and helped him raise Lille. It took Remington going through all of the steps of grieving to get where he is now. Lillie is now four and the bright light in his life. He has all the business projects he wants. With Drew's help as his therapist, he even has been able to move forward and see a possible way to see the future. He doesn't know what it holds for him but he knows he is feeling like he might be interested rather than dead inside. He also is noticing how demanding and strict his mother-in-law is when speaking with Lillie. He understands she loves her yet when he wanted to just sit and watch a movie with his daughter, it became world war three because of the slight nature of the film.

Now Remington is down at the local bar annoyed because even though his mother-in-law was right about the subject matter for a four-year-old, it still annoyed how it all came about. As he nurses his drink he sees Ruby at the end of the bar and remembers when Drew tried to introduce them. He thought she was beautiful then, and he still does now. She is a perfect woman with porcelain skin that begs to be touched. Their eyes do meet, linger for a moment and then Ruby does a small smile.

Drew and Ruby came to the bar to let off steam. Ruby shared with Drew how she wasn't "Feeling" this therapist thing and was lost as to what to pursue. When Ruby and Drew saw Remington at the bar, Drew laughed and said you should pursue Remington, Ha!

Remington was about to move to where Ruby was but Ruby beat him to it. She is standing next to him and they exchange hellos...and then they start to chat and an overwhelming connection happens for Remington. Both of these people start to share much more than they usually do and before he knows it, Remington is offering Ruby a nanny position at an obscene amount per day.

Now Ruby is trying to do the right thing. She knows Remington has been drinking and she makes sure he understands what he is offering. Once she feels he is clear-headed enough, she then stops for a moment to consider exactly what she is getting herself into. She cannot deny her attraction to this man...however, by taking this position for a limited period of time, she would acquire the necessary funds to move out from home and give her breathing room to figure out her next career choice. The only serious challenge is the attraction...but how hard would it be to hold back for a month...In the end, a specific contract of duties, trial time, etc. is agreed to.

Oh, the delight...This story takes off at a level of joy I cannot even explain. Lillie is so special, Lillie with her Daddy is beyond and the Lille with Ruby and Remington listening and watching...Be still my heart. Then you throw in the conflict of the mother-in-law, the conflict of both of these two wanting each other but knowing they are tied up with the boss/employee thing...And then that moment when it becomes too much for both of them and they give in...

Please, Tia... I Want Some More...and then Tia gave it to me! She gave this love story which was layered, sweet, sexy, loving, full of human errors, and then more goodness. Both of these people go through their own arcs of growth... and as usual, the man needs to figure things out. But never fear... it all ends so yummy well.

So if you love to have a story which touches All The Romance Bases and gives you humor, heart and sexy smexy times...then please do not delay- click and get started enjoying.

Make Me Yours was a sweet, light and easy to read romance. Ruby is a firecracker with such a big heart and bright head on her shoulders. Remi is an amazing single father who adores his daughter Lillie. It was obvious from their first meeting in Make You Mine that they would be a great match.
What I enjoyed and was a pleasantly surprise was Ruby. She’s quick with a remark but above all she’s an intelligent woman who’s had to sacrifice a lot because of her father and his expectations. Now working for Remi as his daughter’s nanny she showed new sides of her personality. Her friendship with Lillie was so lovely.
Ruby and Remi was terrific too. Trying to push their attraction aside but in the end finally giving in to their needs and feelings.
Remi had a lot to make up for since not being with a woman for five years and Ruby enjoyed every minute of it;)
Ruby’s bestie Drew was the perfect sounding board and support for Ruby and also they had a blast together.
Overall I think my expectations got the better of me but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

What is it about single dad stories that tug at your heartstrings so profoundly???
This whole story blew me away! Especially his adorable little girl! I felt like I was a voyeur reading this book to the point I was rather heated under the collar due to the sizzling connection between Ruby and Remi!
Just his name made me think ‘oh my’!
I loved Ruby and her strong personality and the way she made those dear to her happy! She brought light to Remi, she was incredible with his daughter and to say there were a few tears in certain moments well, just read it for yourself!
Such a beautiful heartwarming but also enjoyable read! Cant wait for more of this series!!

I am between 2 and 3 stars for this book. The smut scenes are hot. Super steamy, descriptive sex and the narrators done a good job narrating the smut scenes.

The thing that I do not like is the story. Romance between nanny and the boss is not something new in romance book. What is missing from this book is... a plot. A twist or something. The story is plain. The push and pull is so annoying and it takes majority of the book. I was bored. I do not understand why Ruby pushing Remi away. And she always said, can not happening again.

I need more dramatic reason for the push and pull. Without it, the story is plain. More plainer than vanilla.

I give this book 3 stars credited to the hot steamy smut.

Title: Make Me Yours
Author: Tia Louise
Publication Date: March 3, 2019

I love a single-dad romance! There's just something about the whole 'manly-man-single dad' trope that traps my attention.

This book just swept me off my feet.
It was so cute, romantic and so adorkable. yup. ADORKABLE. lol!
Let's not forget Ruby and Remington. *sigh

Ever been in a situation that just makes you say "I can't..I can't explain this fine specimen of hotness!". That's me, trying to explain to my friends how hot Remi is.
But when you add his daughter into the mix... Oh my ovaries!

Ruby, Ruby, Ruby... I loved this girl. She is so feisty, so confident and I worship her!

Ruby and Remington have an unbelievable chemistry!
I devoured this book in one sitting. I loved each and every word .This book just made me a happy girl.
There are tender, sweet and emotional moments.
There are insane crazy moments where Ruby and Remi's (I mean come on! even their names sounds good together) chemistry is a definitive page turner.

Tia Louise, well done! Can't wait for the next book.

No. No. No. NO.

WTH?! I was really looking forward to this!

This was so juvenile compared to what the blurb led me to believe.
No one mentioned Ruby was twenty-three. While I might overlook some immaturity based on that, I was twenty-three a couple months ago so her behaviour was downright ridiculous.

No self-control, none, when she expressly knows the consequences, outlines them herself and then she cries and feels cheap when they come to pass.

I have read the type before, there's no problem with the plot it was just so poorly executed and the characters felt like blonde-woe-is-me-bimbos with nothing but sex on the mind. Ugh!

But it was the constant reference to "cheap", they called me cheap, it would make me cheap, I feel cheap, he made it all so cheap, that really drove in that final nail and truly made the book feel cheap.
I wanted a shower after this.

2 stars cause Lil was an angel and deserves her own.

I don't think I'll be touching another book by Tia Louise for a long, long time.

Nah

I don't know why people like this book so much.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad or anything, but it was somewhere between a 'meh' and a 'nah' read.

It was boring. I can't say I enjoyed the characters or the plot, and I felt absolutely no chemistry between the two MCs (and chemistry is very important in a romance). And, unfortunately, I was disappointed by Tia Louise's writing style, I was expecting better from her.

Oh well, on to the next one.

A typical forbidden love between the nanny and daddy of the child, minus the angst.

Hero made it completely clear from their first meeting that he wanted the heroine more than a nanny. Heroine too is attractive towards the hero, but couldn't date him due to the 'employee-employer' thing.

So that was the long story short.

The only drama was Eleanor. Hero' first mother-in-law.

Writing style of this author is average. Not too catchy.

Good contemporary romance!

A decent single dad and the nanny read. Has the small town vibes. Heroine gets shamed by stuck up people in town. She’s mostly strong about it and that’s why I like her. She is who she is and she owns it. The hero is a good dad, but is worried he isn’t. Lots of insecurities from losing his wife and his love-in mother in law who is very hard on him. The little girl in the story is so sweet to read. My biggest complaints were that the characters were so wishy washy about certain things and it was just frustrating. Other than that it was a good read with a happy ending!

I have an admission to make - I'm a sucker for a single dad romance. Not much I find hotter than a great dad... Remi is just such a character.

Add Ruby into the mix - who might be younger, but is at times, definitely wiser and you've got chemistry for days. The two are so explosive it pours from the page.

Watching Ruby with Lillie had my mum heart happy and I was so desperate for them to get their HEA and create their family... Tia threw in just enough obstacles and emotions to make it an interesting read but the overall feeling I get from this one is sweet & I'm more than okay with that. Such a fun story. Definitely recommend.

”I want her to want me. I want her to come to me and say make me yours…"

"She believes in me, and it makes me believe in myself. She brought me back to life."

Characters
Remington (aka Remi) (30, starting his own investment firm):
The following words/phrases were used to describe Remington: hard worker, problem solver, generous, amazing dad, protective, panty-melting singing voice, likes to tease and have fun, seductive and possessive, attentive and curious, delicate and demanding, toe-curlingly handsome.

Remi’s wife died 4 years ago and he is raising his daughter (with the help of his mother-in-law). ”Four years ago, after Sandy died, I didn’t mind if her mother moved in and took over the childcare. Lillie was her granddaughter, and I had no idea how to be a single dad to a newborn baby. I didn’t even know if I was going to survive losing my wife.” .
Lately, his mother-in-law is making him a bit crazy and he’s ready to make some changes and regain control of his life.

Some quotes about Remi:
“I’d left the Navy, invented a series of apps to organize intelligence data then locate enemy combatants based on that data, sold it, made a billion, married Sandy, we got pregnant, and when the pregnancy turned high-risk, she wanted to move here to be closer to her mother. I thought my life was so perfect, so planned out… then it all fell apart. I was alone, and I didn’t know how to keep moving forward. I didn’t want to keep moving forward.”

“I sold a program to a group of investors, who in turn sold to the government. It made a lot of money, and now I’m an investor looking for guys like me with great ideas.”

"When I was in therapy, Drew said I would eventually get to this place of peace with the past, and a desire for a future. I didn’t believe her, but now it seems she was right. Those memories will always live in my heart, and I hope I’m blessed enough to have more to come."

"I love that even in this moment, with us so close, he hits pause to give me a serious response. No off the cuff answer. He’s listening to me, thinking, as if everything he says to me is important."

Ruby (24, licensed therapist and a nanny):
The following words/phrases were used to describe Ruby: talented, Responsible, smart, independent, tough, great with Lillie, adorable, beautiful, feisty, good, stubborn, wild and sweet, sexy and sensual.

Ruby is a talented artist, but her parents didn’t support an art degree, so she ended up becoming a therapist. She is not happy with her career choice and lives with her mother. She doesn’t know what, exactly, but she knows she needs to make some changes.

Some quotes about Ruby:
“When I’m drawing, I feel like I’m alive,”
“It’s exciting and fulfilling…”

"I want to be able to take care of myself. I want to be confident in my choices.”

"Ruby is fiercely independent, and she has her own unique style. She’s not a follower. She’s not a member of the herd. She doesn’t seem to want anything from me other than honest work, and she’s amazing with my daughter."

"I remember you said your dad made you question your choices. You didn’t say he made you strong.”

The Story:
Both Remi and Ruby know they need a change. Instant attraction and a few drinks lead them to an arrangement that might be too good to be true.

”It’s all too perfect. I know in that moment, this must happen. “come work for me.” the words are out so fast, I can’t stop them. I don’t want to stop them.
You would live at my house, drive Lily to and from school, do educational things with her in the afternoons… Help with her meals and light housekeeping, bathe her put her to bed.”

After Ruby tears her eyes away from Remi’s too-perfect a$$ 😊, she comes to this conclusion... ”I can’t work for Remington key. He’s too hot.”
“I want to bone my boss.”

Well, at least she knows what she wants. lol 😂 😂

My Thoughts:
The following are my thoughts about this book:
- Remi was an amazing dad!! Swoon 🥰🥰
- I loved the way Ruby didn’t let Eleanor get under her skin. She seemed to come out on the better end of the conversation every single time. 👏👏
- Lillie was A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E!! Cute kid aspect of the story kept it light and upbeat.
- This flowed well and was a really quick read
- I liked that Remi certainly acknowledged his feelings for his dead wife, but it wasn’t the focal point of the story. Therefore, it wasn’t a heavy, depressing book. He was ready to find love again, so I appreciated that all the grief and processing had already happened and he was in a good place.
- Sweet characters who were easy to like
- There are some crossover characters from other books. I thought this was a standalone because it didn’t have a # in the title to indicate it was part of a series. However, it clearly had a few references to the book “Make You Mine”.
- The individual pairings are great together (ie: Remi & Ruby; Remi & Lillie; Ruby & Lillie). But when they are together, the trio is even better. I loved their new little family unit. 💞

Overall:
- Do you need to read previous books in series?: It’s considered a standalone, but there are some characters from other books. You wouldn’t necessarily know that and it’s not necessary to read the other books to understand the characters and the story in this book.
- POV: dual POV
- Tropes: nanny/boss, single dad, love after loss,
- H likable? Yes. Major swooning on my part. I love a single dad ❤️
- h likable? Yes
- h virgin? no
- First time they kiss: 29%
- First time they sleep together: 63%
- steamy? Yes
- OW/OM drama? no
- H/h cheat? no
- Did I skip pages? No
- Big secrets? no
- Did I cry? no
- Did I laugh? Yes. The little girl definitely brought the cute and aww 🥰aspect. ”Her little leggings and white undies are on the bathroom floor soiled. “My butt threw up.” Her voice is so small and weak.” . See....she was just too cute ☺️
- Cliffhanger? no
- Epilogue? Yes
- Recommend? yes

Quotes
“What’s chemistry, Daddy?”
Her question makes me grin. "Remember Bill Nye the science guy?”
She nods quickly, that cute little dimple appearing in her cheek when she smiles.
"Well,” I continue. “He does chemistry.”
"Her little eyes widen. “He makes things go boom! Will you make Ruby go boom?”
I cough a laugh, shifting in my seat and imagining how that might go… and how it might sound.”

“Ruby, by contrast, lets my daughter shine. She gets on her level and plays with her. She talks to her, but she doesn’t force her to be an adult. It’s incredible how it affects me. She’s like a gift.”

"you tend to cloud my vision.”
“When you look at me, I find it very hard to be objective.”

"“You’re paying me way too much, but I’m worth it.”

"It’s like in that rich Asians movie—she’s playing chicken with you.”
Our eyes meet, and my insides are buzzing. “I can’t let her win.”
"You know what to do!” Drew snaps her fingers in a Z. “Bok Bok, Bitch! You’re a badass chicken.” 🐣

“She completes a part of me I didn’t know had been yearning for completion. She loves my daughter, she fills my house with light… She’s kind of perfect."
