---------------------

A heart-pounding and darkly humorous dance through Miami with a twisted serial killer...Miami's Skinner Institute serves the rich and powerful—people who trust the private hospital to hide their secrets.

When former patients start dying in strangely symbolic ways, Dr. Skinner hires Shee McQueen and her band of freelance mercenaries to solve their troubles before the hospital loses its coveted reputation.

Untangling Skinner's web of lies won't be easy as a twisted killer and his puppetmaster move to stop the Loggerhead crew. When tragic secrets lead to their doorstep, one member may never escape his darkness—unless their most mysterious team member releases her own.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Think Stephanie Plum goes to Florida. With Jack Reacher. Highly recommended." —Carmen Amato, bestselling author of the Detective Emilia Cruz police series and 30-year veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Oh wow! I just love this series. It's full of action, suspense and camaraderie to keep you hooked until the very last page. This time round the loggerhead team are all working the same case, so you learn a little bit more about some of the more quieter (but no less deadlier) team members. The story does follow different team members as they go about solving the case, so you learn a bit about what happens to one while following someone else and then go slightly back in time to get there perspective of what went on. It sounds complicated like that but it isn't and it really works for the story because you have to read the next chapter to see what happened or find out what happens next. It's not all guns and knives and there are a number of fun scenes and a lot of wondering who is behind it all. I just enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next.
When patients at a rich and famous clinic start dying in strange and unusual ways the loggerhead team jumps into action. The owner is unwilling to go to the police with his fears that the two deaths are connected, he hires Shee and her team to investigate and find another one of his missing patients before he ends up the same way. The more they learn the more it looks like the killer had help from inside the clinic. A clinic one of there own has visited, do secrets need to be told in order to catcher the killer or just by investigating are they making themselves a target? The big question is are they tracking a serial killer or a puppet master?

I won this Title in a Goodreads Giveaway. This was a twist and turn murder mystery that's for sure. It had all elements of crime in this one. White collar, blue collar, and a serial killer. This book has everything you want in a novel. It is very well written, lots of action and surprises throughout the entire book. Your investigators are more like super hero mercenaries which is a lovely bonus in my opinion. I loved this book and couldn't put it down. I highly recommend this book. 👌

This is book 8 in the Shee McQueen Mystery series. The is so much going on in this book. We learn so much more about Ollie, Shiva, and others in the loggerhead crew. They are all working on a case that Ollie has significant insight but does not realize it in the beginning. I love the team work and genuine care these ruffians have for each other.

It is well-plotted and laid out. There were some twists in it but I knew whom had done killings but to see the intricate web of connections was outstanding. I went through the book rather quickly as it kept me engaged. Highly recommend this book which may be read as a standalone.

Has strong characters, both male and female.

I was given an advanced readers copy and am not required to leave a positive review.

Murder and Mayhem
This book is the 8th in a humorous thriller series. In this episode, someone is killing famous patients at an exclusive Florida Medical clinic. As the team investigates, we learn more about the background of some of the team members. It explains a lot. This is a fun, fast-moving episode. There is no foul language and no bedroom activity. It has a bit of gore, but not too bad. As with all of this author's books, it is witty and funny.

Shee and the gang are asked to investigate a murder and we learn more about some of the team. There is a lot of action, clues, deception and humour and as ever is a very enjoyable read. I really like how the team work together, the friendships and verbal sparring but also the genuine care for each other.

My first read from this author and my first read from this series.
Shee McQueen heads a team of mercenaries/detectives, each with the own special skillset.
In this read, the team is hired to discover and stop a serial killer, who is choosing his victims from a certain set of people and their deaths are victim specific.
Can they discover who, why and stop more killings?

Another great book in this series about a team of likable misfits who work on the QT helping people fix things. This one has some strange elements that the team has to deal with, and some past history is touched on. All is done with the usual fast pace and humor this series delivers to the lucky readers who have discovered it.

Guess who's The Man Who Kept Secrets! Dr. Skinner hires the Loggerheads as he needs help because a serial killer is mutilating his patients and is trying to discredit his reputation. Twists and turns, action, lots of character backstories, lots of graphic mutilations, and a great book.

I won this book as a part of Goodreads giveaway. It was most enjoyable and I’m so glad I had such a fun book to read. Even though it is part of a series and I had not read any of the prior books, I was not lost. It did make me want to read the others in the series though to get more information about all of the characters because they were all intriguing and fun in their own way. The author was able to keep you in the loop without being overly detailed on the past histories of the characters. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the book and I enjoyed all the different characters’ personalities. I felt like the ending was a bit rushed, but it worked.
